As a whole transaxle line-up owner bar the 914, but we are getting to that, I look forward to his uploads also.

I'm the guy in San Jose you bought the 928 from. I think it looks fantastic! And I'm pleased it didn't wind up in a parts yard. My son was at Radwood and recognised the key/knob on the dash. :) I did wind up lifting a Miata, which has been a very fun ride.

I was so happy when your son stopped me at RADwood and told me who he was! Glad you like it!

The Pasha 928- am I the only one here who sees it and the Tom Petty video for "Don't Come Around Here" in their head?

That safari 928 just oozes cool. I sure wish I could make it to Radwood, I'd love to see that car and most importantly, meet you. You are the kind of car guy I aspire to be. Thanks for the excellent content!

Thanks for the good content. Safari 928 is cool, haven't seen anyone build this before. Porsche built 924 and 911 rally versions in the 70s/80s. Own 924 S for street/race and CJ7 Renegade for offroad. Proper mud flaps and large old Scholl Bosch/Piaa lights in the front I think would have lifted the rally appearance.

Watching one of your videos and you mentioned clips for the Yakima rack….our first 928 was a 1984 S that was original purchased (with European delivery) was John Bowes, former owner of Yakima Racks.

I just wanna make a comment about the roof rack. I used to do a lot of four wheeling and I always had a roof rack and no matter how I mounted it, by the end of the trail, it would be falling off. Eventually, I welded mounts to drip rails, never had a problem with it after that.

Wow looks great, I have just bought a 928 recently to turn it into a Safari for a Race in North Africa planned for late 2025. I am looking at option for a Lifting the car, Did you lift the car just with Ali Spacers and Tire Change and what did you achieve in extra Hight? With the 2" spaces did you change any of the Arms ? What size tires did you go with ? 215/80/16 ? Any information would be great. Many thanks

Am I the only one wondering how well a c5 drivetrain would integrate into the 928?

Also- do you have any info or stories about group 5 or group 2 BMW stuff? I've had an E21 for years, and I still want to make it look like one of those cars!

Being a 928 owner since 2008, I am baffled as to why you would do this to a poor old 928.
If you thought a road-going 928 was a money pit, then an offroad 928 is a blackhole for money.
And frankly, it seems unlikely your '79 car even has a Limited Slip Diff, which makes it very dodgy offroad, anyway!
And let's be clear here: Friends don't let friends buy a 928. Bankruptcy and divorce usually follow. :P

I always laugh at these videos, if anyone would take the time to do some research on the 928 here in the US and the championships they won..for example there was a cross country race that competed with the cannonball run called the US Express, of course the Newbies never heard of it, but will post crap on all the other stupid media places...Steve Clausman who owned an auto part business won the the US Express in a 928 in 1981 and I knew him a good guy, but more important he was a music promoter also He found a band before they were anybody called Tesla, they were City Kidd before Tesla came into being and I do know Jeff Keith, they stayed in contact even up the the end of Steves death, Steve made the 928 reliable and a trophy winner...but lets not mix facts with an old mad magazine guy, while the rest of us car guys back then were enjoying our Ferraris, Lamborghini, Porsche, Corvettes in the 1970s and 1980s and still...while this guy was a Mad Magazine nerd...no offence i liked Mad Magazine but he was never a car guy then

I think you might need to research who you are talking to here.
