Dehydrate at 150F / 62C for 4-8 hours (large marshmallows and those with low wattage machines can take longer). Vacuum seal them in mason jars or even in mylar bags. Also, marshmallow powder stores a little better than fruit powders. Even though there is a ton of sugar in it, it doesn't clump as easily, so you can store it in canning jars if you make a little too much for a particular need. You could..sprinling on top would be SOOOOOOO pretty - like snow. I'm not sure how it will react in baking because it will just melt right in, but have fun experimenting and let us know the results!

I know this is late to comment, but I just saw this video recently. I dried some mini peppermint marshmallows recently and gave a bag of the dried marshmallows to my grandkids (under 10 years old). They tried some and then held up 2 thumbs and said 2 thumbs up grandma! Warmed my heart! Thanks for this video - great novel idea.

I asked my 13 year old grandson said he didn't care what I put in their holiday goodie box, but I had to have the hot chocolate. Soooo good. I haven't found peperment marshmellows yet. For adults, we add a little Dr. McGuillicuddy's peperment.
Hi Darcy, I am all the way down in New Zealand. We do have the mini marshmallows but I decided to try our favourite brand Pascal's marshmallows which are a lot bigger (but not large!). After 36 hours at 130deg (and a lot of testing!) I jarred them. They are a flavour bomb, like a chewy lolly. But next time I will try the mini ones! Thanks so much, loving your channel as I recently purchased the Excaliber 5 tray - it is epic!
New to dehydrating. Been binge watching your videos. Tried flavored marshmallows turned out great. Family loved it and so did all my coworkers. Have zucchini chips going right now😀
@@notsauucey8069 Um if a person can afford a dehydrator like in this video.... they can afford lucky charms. Is it worth it if maybe it is less expensive to home make it anyway...then why not? I came back to edit&add to my comment. I tried doing this anyway. Realized I had stored too many bags of this no sugar generic cheerios we all do not like. I think using these in that cereal will help make it taste better lol. So.... unintended home made lucky charms after all 😆

My grandkids love dehydrated marshmallows. The youngest calls them mosh-i-knows which cracks me up. I never thought of powderizing the marshmallows, thank you for the idea.

I just dehydrated my 1st packages of marshmallows. These things need to come with a warning label. They are amazing. I'm making up some jars for my grandkids when they come to visit. Next time, I will dry at higher temp. It did take quite a while to dry.
I’m a cookier who has been using Marshmallow flavoring for my Royal Icing. I’m trying this method and intend to grind it up into a fine powder and use it in my icing. Will update with results!

😂 Dear Darcy, in the Netherlands we call them spekjes. Snackt this more than 50 jears ago and sometimes they were so old but i liked them the best. The first batch i dehydrate for more than 10 ours 😉 forgot to let them coole down. Now i got it 😋 the grandkids wil love this. Thank you 🙋🏻♀️ Merry Christmas 🎄

I am dehydrating vanilla and pepper marshmallows so we can make snow for our students (found some vegan for our students that can't have pork) Also making them for a fund raiser for a friend that needs brain surgery to remove tumors.

You need a couple of those little tubs like the one they use in the hospitals but I get mine from walmart. I use them with all of my dehydrating . It is easier to pour all the dehydrated things in the tubs and then into the jars . no mess. I also use them for a lot of other things .
@@gailreese4699 It's a stainless steel wide funnel - so the hold is large and the bowl is much wider than the jar. I've used it in quite a few videos before. Maybe I'll have to do a "My Favorite Gadgets" kind of video :D

Yes you can! But dehydrated foods can have sharp edges that can puncture those plastic bags (especially thinner varieties). So you'll want to double wrap those with parchment paper, paper bags, paper towels, etc, to prevent it.

Meijer didn't have any peppermint marshmallows! 😕 They had pumpkin spice and lucky charm shapes though. Got a bag of pumpkin spice to try. We'll have to swing by Walmart to see if they have any. Love the idea for teacher's gifts!

Any of the procter silex type blenders with a collar have a collar that fits a canning jar. Turns anything into a bullet.

Could you put a food grade moisture desiccant in the bottom of the jars?
You can put them anywhere if you'd like.

I found them at Target - they're around $1.29-$1.50 per bag. When you do the pumpkin spice, cut them in half so they aren't so thick.
