Thank you for sharing more about what we can do with our produce (whether homegrown or bought for those of us not brave enough to try fruit/veg gardening yet). When we can't do as much in our gardens, we can still do something to feel productive and provide some yummies after working hard all summer! I hope you'll continue to do more of these types of videos, especially now when it may not be as safe for you to be outside in the smokey air. Hey Laura you can add extra trays to your nesco. I run 20 trays at a time and usually run 2 dehydraters at a time. You can also zest the lemons before you juice your lemons and dehydrate the zest. Great for baking and gifts.
I have taken up canning again this year, after a hiatus of about 20 years! Love preserving the riches of harvest for my family! Have you ever made salsa from the abundance of your garden? Soooo much better than store-bought, and such a great gift, too.
Just wanted to say how much I enjoy all your videos. I have been pretty much housebound for the last 3 years or so taking care of my mom at first and then my husband also for the past year. Your videos have been a lifeline for me, they are inspirational, informative and completely the highlight of my week. My husband is recovering well and I think this coming spring I will have some time to get outside and enjoy the garden again. I love the food dehydrating and any other food preservation videos. It's an extension of our gardens so we can keep it with us all year, especially in the winter months.
Dehydrating is great..even compared to canning as far as storage goes... I do carrots, celery, onions, mushrooms, leeks....lemon, oranges, limes, bananas...even jerky and fruit leather... and just about anything anytime I have dehydrator space and save that which might go bad before I can use it..I love having things on hand and not having to worry about them not going bad for quite some time... I have a Nesco which I purchased more trays for... a total of 8... I also have a Hamilton Beach which the don’t make any longer which looks to be like a take off on wo the Westin or visa versa ....Book dehydrating time does necessarily matter... all that matters is that they are dry so the don’t mold...I store mine with oxygen absorbers which help preservation. Would love to get one like your new one...A bit pricey for my budget....maybe Someday 😊
I use my NESCO almost every week - love dried apples sprinkled every so slightly with cinnamon and then again with sugar LIGHTLY. They are our candy. BUT mine dries from the top down and can hold 11 trays - you may want to check your instructions to see if you can just stack them higher using just one. I LOVE my Nesco Gardenmaster but know that the square ones hold more due to the center not being off limits. We love jerky but mostly use it for dried herbs and apples and tomato flakes. Favorite thing so far is dried chopped sweet onions - use it outdoors for this one. Then once dry, I grind them in my blender and make the BEST dried onion powder for soup and other seasoning - they really taste wonderful and rich like nothing I've tasted before. Dried hot peppers is another one I love - making flakes for my own pepper flakes. YUM I do like this video so much! I've never gotten my apples past eating them within days of making them but would love to know if you ever tried re-hydrating them into pies or other desserts.
@@KarenDGobsmacked I use the fruit leather inserts, spread the pulp, skins, and some sauce over it then dry it. Once done you can break it up into flakes and use it to enhance any tomato based soup or stew. Several good YT videos on doing this.
Ha! I am one of those lucky ones who just happened to order a dehydrator a few days ago before this video came out. I know from past experiences, when Laura recommends something they sell out quickly!
That Tribest dehydrator is $727.00 Canadian. To put that in perspective, I could buy 63lbs of organic dried apple rings from the store - all work done.You'd really have to use that dehydrator alot to justify that price point. I wonder how much the electricity would cost running it for so many hours as well. Many things to consider.
Ya but then there is the deer jerky and the fish. Oh and we wouldn’t want to forget the Morel mushrooms and lions mane. I wouldn’t buy one for just apples either.
I have the same dehydrator that you have now, passed onto me from my dad. I love it. I agree with you, if you’re going to get all the stuff out, you want to make it worth it. One year, I dried hamburger for soups. Not something I would do again but I gave it a try. Love your show! Thanks for all the information & variety.
I bought a dehydrator in March of this year and after one very loud day of having it sit on my kitchen counter I called my electrician and asked if he could install a plug in my pantry. On most days I hate that I have a window in my pantry but on dehydrating days it is nice to crack open that window a tiny bit, place my dehydrator on a TV tray table and shut the door. What a difference it makes. Oh and yes, I love videos like this.
I dehydrated a bunch of apples last week. I did granny smith for a tarte dried apple and then I did honey crisp with a tad bit of cinnamon and sugar which took a little bit longer to dry.
You inspired me!! I've had an Excaliber dehydrator for several years but only used it a few times & then put it in the closet. I just made some apples but I need to slice them thicker as they were done about 4 hrs. But they were delicious and I ate almost all of them in one evening. Thank you.
I like my excalibur dehydrator, can do large amounts from the garden. Has 9 shelves, great results Dehydrated tomatoes all herbs, potatoes are great use for the dehydrator, if it grows you can dehydrate, sprinkle with cinnamon too. Keeps for years when stored correctly
We just got 1 bushel of NC apples We frozen 3 bushels of apples last year. My 95 yr old mama loves making apple pies every week. I started playing with the dehydrator last year. I did oranges and apples. I dehydrated banana peels to make a powder to add to my garden soil with blender powdered eggshells.
I just bought an Excalibur 9 tray. Dried so far: celery, cabbage, carrots, orange peels, cilantro, green onions, cauliflower, thyme, swiss chard, red bell pepper, kale, parsley, ginger and crimini mushrooms. Yum!
Love the glass door. I've had an Excalibur 9 tray dehydrator for years it's big, love it. We go every fall to the orchards and buy a bushel or so of apples to dehydrate and can apple sauce, apple butter and jelly. Fall is a busy time for preserving for us.
When I was a little girl, we would go pick boxes of apples at the apple orchards in NC. We would have apple peeling contest of who could peel the longest strip without breaking it and the taste of a freshly dehydrated apple ring! Yummy! Also my grandmother made the best apple turnover’s I’ve ever eaten! You brought back some fond memories today! Thanks Laura for sharing! ❤️
The style with the front door is very convenient to check all levels vs removing tiers on the old style. We mostly used ours to make dog treats but pineapple is my favorite thing to dehydrate. Tastes just like a jolly rancher.
We have a couple of apple trees in our yard and we also dry them. Before we put the apples in the dehydrator we put cinnamon on top. When dried it is so delicious. Once you start snacking, you forget how many slices you have eaten. Great healthy snack..
I tied drying fruit this year with a dehydrator and the whole process was a pain and all the fruit spoiled. My husband and I used to dry fruit every year the first 10 years we lived on our property. We had 45 fruit trees so preserving whatever you can for later becomes handy. After my batch of fruit spoiled using a dehydrator we went back to our ole fashion way of drying using burning sulfur and the good ole sun. Worked like a charm and so yummy. I could do so much more at one time. And it was free and no messy clean up of a machine. Sometimes the old way of doing things is the best.
Just pulled out my 5th batch of dehydrated apples. Can't keep enough for the grandkids. They LOVE them. I don't have a mandolin, but after 40 + years of slicing apples, I can get them pretty even. 😊 We are blessed to have our own honeycrisp apples, and this year is a bumper crop! Yay!
...also, make sure the dehydrator is placed where there is ventilation all the way around....with the vent being in the back of the new unit, I would caution against tucking it in under a cabinet as then the vent would be pushed back against the wall/backsplash!
I have been canning since I was a teen. I actually got paid to do the canning for a family friend. I have a dehydrator. I love dried fruits but have not had great success at drying them. You have encouraged me to try again.
The harvester dehydrator outlasted our need after 35 years we lost our dear friend last year because the plastic became brittle...the little engine never failed....we would recommend this wonderful piece of equipment for any home.
Hi Laura, my husband has 2 of those plastic dehydrators, maybe they are different brands but he got them to dry out his hot peppers and he was able to buy extra racks so he could dry more at a time in one session. Maybe apples are different but it might be something to look into. Also, the smells in your kitchen must have been heavenly, apples AND banana bread! I'm drooling just thinking about it haha!
I sprinkle cinnamon on my apple slices before dehydrating - yummy! I use my dehydrator so much - I dry edible flowers like rose petals, violas and violets, elderflower, dandelions, lavender etc for floral teas, I dry herbs for cooking or herbal teas, I dehydrate fruit, but the best is onion and nettles for making DIY powder base for soups/stews etc - super nutritious sand flavourful - oh and I dry mushroom slices which then store so well and are great on homemade pizzas xx

We’ve been dealing with smoke from all the fires here in northern Nevada as well. Grateful it’s only smoke and we’re safe here. Not so fun to be outside though. I truly enjoy everyone of your videos. Keep’m com’n!
I have been dehydrating for the past two weeks, celery, tomatoes, frozen peas, carrots, corn & green beans (on sale), onions, mushrooms. Haven’t gotten to any apples yet, fires where the orchards are😥. Will be interested on the comparisons. I have the Excalibur so am not into a new dehydrator, but love to hear and learn about different ones. Loved the video.
Love the video and your baby bump is too cute! FYI:Tri-Best is a good product....I Have had the Tri-Best blender for 12 years ...it came with two 20 ounce cups and two 12 ounce cups and 3 different blades that you attach to the cup...I make smoothies, whip cream ,chop nuts, etc..My daughter uses it to make all her baby foods everyday. (My grandson is 8 months old) The motor is a little loud and it wasn’t when I first got it, but its still works great and has more than paid for itself because it only takes a minute to whip up something . Easy peasy to clean. My sister has the Tri-Best dehydrator that she bought years ago and paid over a couple thousand back then....she uses it regularly, she makes these kale chips that are really tasty and does the fruit roll ups...nut and seed bars. She is vegan so all her recipes are no meat, no dairy. I have been wanting one for along time because she does so much healthy stuff that actually tastes delicious and I am not vegan so if I get one I want to try your apple chips and do some beef jerky. I think the size you got would be perfect for me and I have to consider storage space.
Laura, there is a Kitchen Aid accessory you can buy that attaches to your stand mixer. It peels and cores at the same time and it is super fast. No fearsome mandolin 😊
There's also one that suctions onto your countertop at Bed Bath and Beyond 19.99 "Apple Peeler with Vacuum Base" only thing is it slices to about 1/4 ", not sure if that matters. You can choose for it to peel or not peel the apple. I would imagine it would just take less time to dehydrate. Waaaaaaay faster! 😍😍😍😍😍 Oh my gosh I just saw how thin she's cutting. Yes! These attachments would TOOOOOTALLY make her process faster and more enjoyable! I also use it to peel/slice apples for my toddler.😁😁
I have 5 of this style, 2 inherited, I love them. Being able to do ten trays at once means getting done with drying a large batch of fruit before it spoils. I dry up to 200 pounds of Italian plums every year, love them so much. Now doing apples for the first time.😊
I need to dust off my dehydrator! Those Honey Crisp apples look delicious! My Father in Law planted several apple, cherry & pear trees but with age the trees have died. And with his age he was not able to care for the trees. When the trees were healthy, they produced enough for 4 families plus enough for friends! I froze, baked & dehydrated lots & lots of fruit!🙂🍎🍏🍒🍐🥧 Yes those peppers are pretty!! 🌶🌶 The kitchen is busy! 👩🍳
My now 10 year old was gifted a dehydrator for Christmas a couple of years ago. It's never been used but after seeing how easy this is I'm thinking we may have to try it out this weekend. I have the Nesco American Harvest Dehydrator as well! I have a total of 12 trays that I use for making beef jerky! My whole family loves the jerky I make. I usually make it around Christmas time because then I give it to my family as part of their Christmas presents. I use London broils from Costco (I get 10 London broils at a time when I do make it) & my main ingredients are teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, honey and a bunch of other ingredients & spices that I marinade the meat in for 2 days before I start to dehydrate. It usually takes me about 2 full days (around the clock) to dehydrate all 10 sliced up London broils. As I said my family loves it so much that I have to weigh out each bag (normally everyone gets about 1 lb each) because God forbid someone gets more than someone else.

Having a cold spell in ID...saw a heap of apples on sale for thanksgiving. Honey crisp. Brain said, dehydrators heat up their space. I have the round presto ones. Got one of those coring/peelers cuz I hate peeling apples. It was so fun to core, peel, drunk and line those trays. Put them on in the basement, and it certainly took the chill off, with heavenly smell results. Dehydrated apples are easily rehydrated for baking in stuff. Also being from ID, ya gotta do potatoes. I found some I missed in my containers, sliced them up, racked them up, and presto...easy peasy food storage. I have rotten memories of canning in HOT weather in my gran's kitchen and it cured me, lol. I will freeze & dehydrate, but canning is too involved for me. I use powdered C, not lemon juice, but whatever works...
You can buy more trays for your current dehydrator and Nesco says you can stack up to 20 high. Highly recommend grabbing extras because you can process way more food in the same amount of time.
Regular jerky maker here. You will never go back to store bought. Play around with marinades. So good. Also, have you tried making your own garlic/onion powders?
Hi there....just want to mention about the wet ground. We had smoke cover here in Portland for about a week & our ground/gardens & even my pots stayed really wet although I hadn’t watered in a week. Our lawn even got some mold on it. Wierd!
I dehydrate all the time. Its a great way to preserve food and prepare for the future. Right now I have peaches and apples in mine. A little hint...dry at a little lower temperature so as to maintain the nutrients that are in the item you are dehydrating. Just takes a little bit longer but worth the nutritional value. Hope to see you in Fruitland sometime as I live in Eagle Idaho. I am also planning on a trip to your family garden shop as well. Hope to run into you! Kathleen FYI...consider an "apple peeler"....not as scary as mandolin. Cores, peels and slices all at once.
Just recently started watching your channel. This UA-cam caught my eye because I dehydrate apples all the time. My dehydrator is more simple than yours original ones. Because I DO NOY have a temperature dial. But mine does have 8 trays. I rotate my trays during the hydrating process. I don’t use a mandolin, one came with the hydrator but I choose to use the slicer attachment for my KitchenAid mixer then, I prefer to cut my slices in half. That way my slices last a little longer, better portion control. I hope I find the video where you get the other dehydrator and compare it to because I have been considering getting newer model. After all the one I have is probably 25 years old.
I love my Nesco dehydrator. Have had it for years, like you. It’s a tradition for me to make turkey jerky gifts. The dehydrator makes great tasting fruit leather too.
We have the same dryer that you are using - right now it has bananas drying in it! Sometimes we do strawberries and other fruit too. Good to see how you do apples, I'll have to give that a try.

Instead of the cranking corer invest in the attachment for your kitchen aid mixer. I used a crank corer for years, it was a wonderful time saver and safer. But the kitchen aid attachment is magical! I love it and everything is tidy and symmetrical which Laura should love! 😉
Do you have a Kitchen aide mixer? Get a spiralizer attachment. It is the best for peeling and coring apples within seconds. It is SO worth it. Other attachments I use for potatoes, carrots, zucchini, etc. It is a game changer. Anyone elae use this attachment?

Yes, I love canning and dehydrating and savoring every last drop of the garden! I do mine with an apple peeler corer very easy
You inspired me!! I've had an Excaliber dehydrator for several years but only used it a few times & then put it in the closet. I just made some apples but I need to slice them thicker as they were done about 4 hrs. But they were delicious and I ate almost all of them in one evening. Thank you.

Dehydrated tomatoes all herbs, potatoes are great use for the dehydrator, if it grows you can dehydrate, sprinkle with cinnamon too.

We just got 1 bushel of NC apples We frozen 3 bushels of apples last year. My 95 yr old mama loves making apple pies every week. I started playing with the dehydrator last year. I did oranges and apples. I dehydrated banana peels to make a powder to add to my garden soil with blender powdered eggshells.
I just bought an Excalibur 9 tray. Dried so far: celery, cabbage, carrots, orange peels, cilantro, green onions, cauliflower, thyme, swiss chard, red bell pepper, kale, parsley, ginger and crimini mushrooms. Yum!
Love the glass door. I've had an Excalibur 9 tray dehydrator for years it's big, love it. We go every fall to the orchards and buy a bushel or so of apples to dehydrate and can apple sauce, apple butter and jelly. Fall is a busy time for preserving for us.
When I was a little girl, we would go pick boxes of apples at the apple orchards in NC. We would have apple peeling contest of who could peel the longest strip without breaking it and the taste of a freshly dehydrated apple ring! Yummy! Also my grandmother made the best apple turnover’s I’ve ever eaten! You brought back some fond memories today! Thanks Laura for sharing! ❤️
The style with the front door is very convenient to check all levels vs removing tiers on the old style. We mostly used ours to make dog treats but pineapple is my favorite thing to dehydrate. Tastes just like a jolly rancher.
You need an awesome outdoor kitchen area. You are always cooking outside.
We have a couple of apple trees in our yard and we also dry them. Before we put the apples in the dehydrator we put cinnamon on top. When dried it is so delicious. Once you start snacking, you forget how many slices you have eaten. Great healthy snack..
Well, too much sugar (even fructose) isn't great, but whole fruit is *always* better than fruit juice.
I tied drying fruit this year with a dehydrator and the whole process was a pain and all the fruit spoiled. My husband and I used to dry fruit every year the first 10 years we lived on our property. We had 45 fruit trees so preserving whatever you can for later becomes handy. After my batch of fruit spoiled using a dehydrator we went back to our ole fashion way of drying using burning sulfur and the good ole sun. Worked like a charm and so yummy. I could do so much more at one time. And it was free and no messy clean up of a machine. Sometimes the old way of doing things is the best.
You can also use salt water to keep your apples from browning. My mom, grandma and I use it when making apple pies and it does not effect the taste.

Just pulled out my 5th batch of dehydrated apples. Can't keep enough for the grandkids. They LOVE them. I don't have a mandolin, but after 40 + years of slicing apples, I can get them pretty even. 😊 We are blessed to have our own honeycrisp apples, and this year is a bumper crop! Yay!
...also, make sure the dehydrator is placed where there is ventilation all the way around....with the vent being in the back of the new unit, I would caution against tucking it in under a cabinet as then the vent would be pushed back against the wall/backsplash!
I have been canning since I was a teen. I actually got paid to do the canning for a family friend. I have a dehydrator. I love dried fruits but have not had great success at drying them.

Mine is a stockli dehydrator which is made in Switzerland. I’ve just bought another two trays for it, I never thought of doing that before! 🤗

Hey Laura, You can make apple sauce in crock pot or if you want to go further continue apple sauce in crock pot approx 4 more hours for apple butter.
The harvester dehydrator outlasted our need after 35 years we lost our dear friend last year because the plastic became brittle...the little engine never failed....we would recommend this wonderful piece of equipment for any home.
Hi Laura, my husband has 2 of those plastic dehydrators, maybe they are different brands but he got them to dry out his hot peppers and he was able to buy extra racks so he could dry more at a time in one session. Maybe apples are different but it might be something to look into. Also, the smells in your kitchen must have been heavenly, apples AND banana bread! I'm drooling just thinking about it haha!

I use my dehydrator so much - I dry edible flowers like rose petals, violas and violets, elderflower, dandelions, lavender etc for floral teas, I dry herbs for cooking or herbal teas, I dehydrate fruit, but the best is onion and nettles for making DIY powder base for soups/stews etc - super nutritious sand flavourful - oh and I dry mushroom slices which then store so well and are great on homemade pizzas xx
My grandchildren's school is Fruitland Elementary in WA state. I believe it was once the site of an apple orchard!

We’ve been dealing with smoke from all the fires here in northern Nevada as well. Grateful it’s only smoke and we’re safe here. Not so fun to be outside though. I truly enjoy everyone of your videos. Keep’m com’n!

I have the nesco and love it. I have trays designated for jerky only be. I find the smell lingers to other fruits and veggies.
I have been dehydrating for the past two weeks, celery, tomatoes, frozen peas, carrots, corn & green beans (on sale), onions, mushrooms. Haven’t gotten to any apples yet, fires where the orchards are😥. Will be interested on the comparisons. I have the Excalibur so am not into a new dehydrator, but love to hear and learn about different ones. Loved the video.

FYI:Tri-Best is a good product....I Have had the Tri-Best blender for 12 years ...it came with two 20 ounce cups and two 12 ounce cups and 3 different blades that you attach to the cup...I make smoothies, whip cream ,chop nuts, etc..My daughter uses it to make all her baby foods everyday. (My grandson is 8 months old) The motor is a little loud and it wasn’t when I first got it, but its still works great and has more than paid for itself because it only takes a minute to whip up something . Easy peasy to clean. My sister has the Tri-Best dehydrator that she bought years ago and paid over a couple thousand back then....she uses it regularly, she makes these kale chips that are really tasty and does the fruit roll ups...nut and seed bars. She is vegan so all her recipes are no meat, no dairy. I have been wanting one for along time because she does so much healthy stuff that actually tastes delicious and I am not vegan so if I get one I want to try your apple chips and do some beef jerky. I think the size you got would be perfect for me and I have to consider storage space.
Laura, there is a Kitchen Aid accessory you can buy that attaches to your stand mixer. It peels and cores at the same time and it is super fast. No fearsome mandolin 😊
There's also one that suctions onto your countertop at Bed Bath and Beyond 19.99 "Apple Peeler with Vacuum Base" only thing is it slices to about 1/4 ", not sure if that matters. You can choose for it to peel or not peel the apple. I would imagine it would just take less time to dehydrate. Waaaaaaay faster! 😍😍😍😍😍

For your circular dehydrators, you can stack more than 4 trays high to expand your drying capacity.
You can put up tp 12 trays on your Nessco. I just bought extra trays for mine.
I stack mine too.
I have 5 of this style, 2 inherited, I love them. Being able to do ten trays at once means getting done with drying a large batch of fruit before it spoils. I dry up to 200 pounds of Italian plums every year, love them so much. Now doing apples for the first time.😊
I need to dust off my dehydrator! Those Honey Crisp apples look delicious! My Father in Law planted several apple, cherry & pear trees but with age the trees have died. And with his age he was not able to care for the trees. When the trees were healthy, they produced enough for 4 families plus enough for friends! My now 10 year old was gifted a dehydrator for Christmas a couple of years ago. It's never been used but after seeing how easy this is I'm thinking we may have to try it out this weekend. I have the Nesco American Harvest Dehydrator as well! I have a total of 12 trays that I use for making beef jerky! My whole family loves the jerky I make. I usually make it around Christmas time because then I give it to my family as part of their Christmas presents. I use London broils from Costco (I get 10 London broils at a time when I do make it) & my main ingredients are teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, honey and a bunch of other ingredients & spices that I marinade the meat in for 2 days before I start to dehydrate. It usually takes me about 2 full days (around the clock) to dehydrate all 10 sliced up London broils. As I said my family loves it so much that I have to weigh out each bag (normally everyone gets about 1 lb each) because God forbid someone gets more than someone else.

I'd tooootally recommend the Instant Pot Air fryer 6in1! The dehydrator setting is soooo helpful and you get an air fryer too!

Having a cold spell in ID...saw a heap of apples on sale for thanksgiving. Honey crisp. Brain said, dehydrators heat up their space. I have the round presto ones. Got one of those coring/peelers cuz I hate peeling apples. It was so fun to core, peel, drunk and line those trays. Put them on in the basement, and it certainly took the chill off, with heavenly smell results. Dehydrated apples are easily rehydrated for baking in stuff. Also being from ID, ya gotta do potatoes. I found some I missed in my containers, sliced them up, racked them up, and presto...easy peasy food storage. I have rotten memories of canning in HOT weather in my gran's kitchen and it cured me, lol. I will freeze & dehydrate, but canning is too involved for me. I use powdered C, not lemon juice, but whatever works...

You can buy more trays for your current dehydrator and Nesco says you can stack up to 20 high. Highly recommend grabbing extras because you can process way more food in the same amount of time.
We bought a dehydrator years ago to make venison jerky. And it’s been sitting in the pantry ever since 😂 it might be time to break it out!
Regular jerky maker here. You will never go back to store bought. Play around with marinades. So good. Also, have you tried making your own garlic/onion powders?
Hi there....just want to mention about the wet ground. We had smoke cover here in Portland for about a week & our ground/gardens & even my pots stayed really wet although I hadn’t watered in a week. Our lawn even got some mold on it. Wierd!
I dehydrate all the time. Its a great way to preserve food and prepare for the future. Right now I have peaches and apples in mine. A little hint...dry at a little lower temperature so as to maintain the nutrients that are in the item you are dehydrating. Just takes a little bit longer but worth the nutritional value. Homemade jerky is the best. So flavorful and exactly to your tastes and textures. I don't even like regular jerky anymore.
Just recently started watching your channel. This UA-cam caught my eye because I dehydrate apples all the time. My dehydrator is more simple than yours original ones. Because I DO NOY have a temperature dial. But mine does have 8 trays. I rotate my trays during the hydrating process. I don’t use a mandolin, one came with the hydrator but I choose to use the slicer attachment for my KitchenAid mixer then, I prefer to cut my slices in half. That way my slices last a little longer, better portion control. I hope I find the video where you get the other dehydrator and compare it to because I have been considering getting newer model. After all the one I have is probably 25 years old.

I love my Nesco dehydrator. Have had it for years, like you. It’s a tradition for me to make turkey jerky gifts. The dehydrator makes great tasting fruit leather too.
We have the same dryer that you are using - right now it has bananas drying in it! Sometimes we do strawberries and other fruit too. Good to see how you do apples, I'll have to give that a try.

Instead of the cranking corer invest in the attachment for your kitchen aid mixer. I used a crank corer for years, it was a wonderful time saver and safer. But the kitchen aid attachment is magical! I love it and everything is tidy and symmetrical which Laura should love! 😉

Do you have a Kitchen aide mixer? Get a spiralizer attachment. It is the best for peeling and coring apples within seconds. It is SO worth it. Other attachments I use for potatoes, carrots, zucchini, etc. It is a game changer. Anyone elae use this attachment?
