To go back to iOS 7, put your iPhone in DFU mode and open powdersn0w again, then type ./iPwnder32 -r. Then restore your phone back to ios 7 like normal
This tool also will work on the 3,1 iPhone 4 to iOS 5 & 6

Im trying to downgrade my iPhone 4 to iOS 6, when flashing the custom os, it says “ERROR, unable to connect to FOR client (-2) and the restore stops, my iPhone gets stuck on restore screen, with iTunes it give me error 9, not sure how to go any further
tried to do this with a differnet tutorial on a 3,1, and it got stuck at the the recovery screen. ipwnder32 says that the "-r" attribute doesnt exist and i cant reset it now, is there any way you know to fix this?

my iphone 4. i wanted to restore it back in IOS7 but my mcbook pro usb hub i think is destroyed. can't sync any data anymore 🥺 but can charge. so i try restore in windows. using 3utools or iTune Application. after flashing now I'm stock at iTunes logo in boot up after restore in ios7. can't boot in normal mode anymore.🥺

I’ve tried and tried but each time it says unable to place device into recovery mode from DFU mode, 2 questions I have, firstly does this work on apple silicone MacBooks, M1 etc & where do you get that CFW file, that does not exist on my MacBook, please help, I’ve tried so many tutorials to get my iPhone 4 off iOS 7 but every single one fails!! 😫
No it doesn't work on apple silicon macs, you will need to get an intel mac and downgrade it to macos mojave in order for powdersn0w to work. People suggest pluvia for iphone 3,3 as well but i haven't tried it yet.

When I restore how come when I boot up for a second I see the normal apple logo but then I see the iOS 6 one? Does this delete the previous iOS version off your phone? Also could I use iTunes to restore the custom ipsw instead of terminal? Also does it erase all data completely
It uses iOS 7 iboot exploit which means it has the iOS 7 boot for a second

Go to settings and go to security and privacy, at the bottom, it should show a notification that you attempting to download something. Authorize it by entering your password

You can still get the copy of the website by coping the link of the taken down website and go to wayback machine and paste the link. Select the snapshot (I chose the july 2021) and it worked
