- In this video, i'm going to show you guys how to use the good ol Geekgrade downgrade in 2020! this downgrade works with and A4 devices ( iPod touch 4th gen, iPhone 4 both 3,1 & 3,1 and the iPad 1st gen)

If anyone having trouble with "Exploit failed" messages, try switching USB ports and toogling Apple Device drivers ON and OFF in Windows Device Manager (USB Controller page).

Hi is there any way to make this downgrade untethered so then I don’t have to use a computer every time I shut down the device or if it runs out of battery?

I entered dfu mode with ireb, but it fails with booting in the last step.

I couldn’t get this to work, getting my iPhone 4 into PWNED DFU Mode with iREB caused the phone to reboot entirely, any solution? I keep getting to the “waiting for reboot” and then it fails
U need Windows 7 or a very early version of windows 10.., same happens to me bro
Ireb looks like was not fully compatible with windows 10. Thats why i used windows 7

Yes and no. If it takes over an hour, then redo it again. I did it with my ipod touch 2G and the first time, it took so long that it died. I had to do it again and it worked.

sweet got it to work after a whole day really trying to get it to work. tried the video just in regualar windows 10 but redsn0w just didnt work properly so after spending a few hours i downloaded a virtual machine (vmware) and fiddling around with that i got it to work. same steps as the video but just in a windows 7 virtual machine. windows 10 doesnt work properly with this fyi :)

Theres no way to fix that, to boot the device just go to redsnow, select your desired ipsw and then click just boot
does this work for itunes 12 because everytime i try to download itunes 11 it saids “itunes didnt install correctly error 7”
Don't think so. Make sure you remove your itunes libary on your music folder first

Thats because this downgrade is tethered. You need to use redsnow again to boot it everytime you turn it off

at restore step, my itunes is directing to automatic restore and restart the ipod, without selecting file geejgrade ipsw. any solution please?

Redsnow only works with iTunes 10, which has a server issue.
So you have to uninstall iTunes 11 and then install iTunes 10 after restoring the custom ipsw
It worked for me on iTunes 11

it dosent i tried for hours today have to be using windows 7 with redsnow in compatibility mode for xp service pack 3 and everything else will fall in place
iTunes 11.0. Isn’t downloading.
It works, but know i cant restore back to 7.1.2 it keeps bringing me back to recovery mode
You need to be on dfu mode first than restore to 7.1.2

i have a spare win 7 pc and it gave me an error and it almost worked on my main pc but went to recovery mode for some reason
