Still got mine ZX12r brought brand new in 2000 Persimmon Red color...stretched 6 over black powder coated wheels and a 1290 stroker kit man this thing is insane...hitting 9.5 at 145 in the 1/4mile easy well over 200mph on the freeway easy
My motorcycle trainer said this to me when I started riding bikes 20yrs ago… ‘The throttle goes both ways, bikes are NOT dangerous, people make them dangerous’
The gentlemen’s agreement of the early 2000’s was a joke!!! 🤦♂️, trying to limit the top speeds of motorcycles but they weren’t doing that to Lamborghini or Ferrari with there 500hp+ engines lol
I had the first one to hit the streets in 2000 in Denver, CO! Paid around $10,500 cash at #FayMyers. Speedometer went to 220 mph but bike wouldn't do that! I had it to about 185 if i recall? I now ride a 2019 Yamaha MT-07 and the 127 mph top speed seems like im standing still but its alot of fun in different ways!
@ZX-12R they said at the time it was one of the few that was unrestricted but it was my frst bike & i was new to the game so couldnt really tell you anymore than at about 170mph it started shaking pretty bad! These days im on a MT-07 and the akrapovic full system was a huge improvement! Im looking at the MT-10 today & hopefully get one! Ride safe brother!
To the day,I've only bin passed if I wanted to let them pass me... My ride: '00 ZX-12R, K+N,full exhaust system, powercommander, +1 rear sprocket ... U do'nt see many (even modern😄) mashines out there that can top that ,very few kann even keep the pace... the 12R was waaaaay before it's time technicly seen... I love and will NEVER sell her...
Agree... My 12R (not stock) puts that (even a little more..) to the crank... Every second of pure power delivery,is feeling life as nothing else will let u do...
Oh wow! I just had to get one of those! My ZX-12R A1 2000 is red too. And some power ups of course! To obtain more some 'so much power', yes. PC3USB yes. BSM Future silencer and stock open exhaust, yes and K&N air filter system, YES. DynoRun 1 result was 165,48hp and 122,43Nm torque from rear wheel.
A you can see, I have the E1 ZX9r seen in the background in the showroom, just as quick 0-60 on stock bikes, awesome machines still. I also know people with ZX12r's too, also great bikes still, but for the little extra acceleration higher up and a little more top speed I'd still choose the 9r personally, cheaper to run and basically just as good on the road, always have been underrated bikes.
Your wrong about the 12R only having "a litte" more acceleration and "a little " more top speed... Ur 9R has nowhere near the same acceleration 0-50 maybe but from there ur just a spot in the rear mirror .. And as I then keep accelerating up to (true) 320kmh (my 12's not stock) ,you are somewhere miles behind doing a mere (true) 275kmh. What I'm saying is : Sure the 9 is a great bike all in all... But can in no way compete with a '00 unrestricted A1H ,its levels above ... Ride safe..
@@Ninjahall-12R I'm not wrong! "it's levels above" 🤣🤣 typical bigger is better type of bloke 😁 What I said is totally true, the 12r is so heavy the extra capacity, power and torque only gives it a bit higher top speed, and a bit better acceleration at higher speeds, as it needs it's power to deliver the 190mph stock top end on a 245 kg bike. Acceleration 0-60 is the same (you could argue 0.1 second, but that is literally next to nothing lol), but the standing quarter mile is slower on the 12r at 10.4 seconds. This was done quicker on the older and heavier 1998 C1 ZX9r, it was the first production bike to do a sub 10 second quarter at 9.9 seconds. My E1 stock is 25kg lighter at least and has a bit more power than the C1 and C2 too. The 12r's top speed is only 20 mph above the 9r, that you got right at 170mph, but top speed doesn't matter anyway in the real world 99+% of the time. Yes it will start getting ahead above certain speeds, but they certainly won't be as far ahead after as you think/say (refer to quarter mile times above the 9r is as quick up to 60mph, then actually gets ahead a bit up to 136.8mph as the quarter times of the 98 C1 prove, (E&F models even more), but still only ever 'fractions of a second' in it). As said above I know people with 12r's, great bikes, but for me not worth the extra cost to buy and run over the 9r with practically the same performance overall. Those figures used are for bone stock bikes, my 9r is also far from stock now. Even before many changes it keeps with much more modern sports and hyper naked bikes. I ride with a lot of different makes and models of all ages and I'm never left behind in the slightest when having a little fun. You ride safe too bud 👊
This was the first production bike with wings on/in the fairings lmao 23 years later every liter bike has wings, Kawasaki hands down is one of if not the best motorcycle company ever, Honda started the power war,Suzuki came in and stole the show and then Kawasaki gave a middle finger to all the other manufacturers with the H2 & H2R 😂 The gentlemen’s agree in the early 2000’s was a joke!!!!
Funny how things change. Back then it was the devil's spawn and likely to kill you instantly. Now, I own one and want it supercharged coz it's not enough and bugatti make a 260mph car and nobody cares.
@@4.9copblank49 lol aren't they?. They are alot lighter, more powerful and more aerodynamic mate but dont get me wrong the 12 will still hold its own with the right rider!
@ZX-12R oh come on mate its evolution you need to get out the past man, I now your entitled to your own option which I respect but its facts I'm not taking anything away from the 12 it's a hell of a bike but the today's 1 litre bikes are faster and more powerful they even out run the zx14 and busa's, do some research and watch some videos and see for yourself bro lol

Now we have hypercars with hybrid motors that do 60 in less than 3s and 200+. Oddly enough I've never heard any outrage over car speeds.

I own Zx12 here in India since year 2000. Very reliable. Hv clocked 20k since year 2000. I love my bike.
Nice bike. I run an 06 Z1000 and love it. However I do appreciate other bikes. This one seems like a gem
Kawasaki still make the fastest most powerful bikes.
Supercharged H2, Z H2 and of course, the 249 MPH H2R.
Thank you Kawasaki, I love my Z H2.
Great machine even by today's standards
