My dad rides ZX12R 2003. & I ride ZX12R 2000. We love that bikes, not thinking of selling it!Every single ride with that monster is awesome, love it!!After 16 freaking years, she is still sick, full of power & beautiful to ride!!
The 2000 ZX-12R was not restricted to 186mph. It was unlimited. The 2001 and later models were limited to 186mph. Cylinder head and other parts from the year 2000 model will not work on 2001 and later ZX-12R’s The stock year 2000 ZX-12r did 1/4 mile at 152mph in 9.47 seconds. 199mph at the end of a mile and still accelerating. I bought mine in June 2000 and a still ride it today in 2023. I have never been beaten by a Hayabusa. Now days younger riders ask me if the bike is new I guess they are too young to know about the ZX-12R
True. Suzuki and Kawasaki had that gentleman’s agreement that they wouldn’t go faster that a certain speed because bikes just kept getting faster and faster.
These blokes are down to earth, unlike that crowd at fast bikes, they tell you how it is, ok there's the odd mistake bikers recognize, but they are genuine at heart,i enjoy their presentations
I had the 2000 ZX-12 unrestricted red as my very first motorcycle! I learned to ride it in the mountain canyons outside of Denver, CO and i lived to tell you about it! Luckily! 190 mph on 2 wheels is crazy fun!✌
I love this bike. Had to ride it at 4am winter mornings a few years ago as commuter. Flocking hurts. Chiropractic treatment etc. Bought a car after a month. Nowadays, still riding her. A real beast. Such that I may walk with posture post ride; like other sport bikes, I find easier to squat on pegs with tense legs. Ride her like a horse. Strong legs +warm body = no back or wrist hurt + legs that enjoy burn of many days post sunny Sundays. She's easy to maintain and she flys.
I bought one last year, an A2 in green with the tiger stripes.. Only 4k mile from new, immaculate. Mine has a full Ti Akrapovic but I also have the original which I am considering refitting
Very nicely done. A really great bike. Too bad they're not made any more. Kawasaki really had something but let it go way too soon. Thanks for a great show. And yes, you will loose your license extremely quick! And lost of money to boot.
Loved my 02' in Blue! Got it for $1000, (with a dropped valve)....easy fix.Sold it for $4000, running strong at 20K miles. If it had a better range, I might have kept her longer, but 100 miles just isn't far enough between fillups. My FZR1000 can double that mileage on the same 5 gallons and makes only 40 less hp.....sorry, but the 12 had to go!
I’m contemplating this for my next bike, currently enjoying a 04 daytona 955i .. unsure how it’ll compare though .. 213 kgs vs 188 kgs ? 98 ft ibs of torque vs 74 .. Should i take the plunge ?
@@alancushnie2816 What are YOU on about...you seem lost! The numbers are WRONG, weather in km or mph. Unless you take the revlimiter out and rev it to oblivion. Its NOT that hard really to understand, what are you struggling with? Not even the ZX14 does 145kmh in first (that is 90 mph for you).
You seem quite angry 🤷♂️ I have seen 140 on the dial of my zx9r, it hadn't hit the limiter at that point (I wasn't risking a longer look). That's as near as damn it to 90mph as not to matter. I would have thought the 12r would be something similar.
@@MrBioniclefan1 Very high risk of that happening if you twist the throttle...you want to be holding on to the driver. Even when driving normal, ideally passenger and driver should be as close as possible, otherwise the passenger is to far back and upsets the balance of the bike quite a lot.
The top speed description is bullshit, and only done for political reasons. actuall top speed of these things is wel over 200 mph. Saw a GoPro video of a guy testing a 2001 model, and he managed to reach 213mph (340 km/h) in 6th gear doing 12.000 rpm on one of these bikes. lol

A bike for real man , i still love it after 7 years 👍 legendary bike
2003 ZX 12R , high speed 305 km/h on german A63 highway , sunday morning 0600 summer time 😁👌🏁
I’ll never sell my green 2000 ZX12. 22 years on and still looks and rides like a new bike.
I just bought a 2003 model, any tips or advices that you can give me?
Don’t ride like an idiot. Give it the respect it deserves and stay safe.
I'm the second owner of a persimmon red 2000 model ZX12R. I can assure you they are as beautiful and brutal and graceful as Jeff eloquently described!

Too bad they discontinued it.. But we have the ZX-14R :)

No bikes for me, thank you very much.... however... with this bike, I'll make an exception. Happily. :D

Multiple times lol. As student pilot that caught my attention. Can't quite understand the parallels he was making.
@@reinhart482 and we know why you are a student ..
Kawasaki make aeroplanes as well as motorcycle's. They used their wind tunnel division to make the 12R as aerodynamically efficient as possible .

1000$😳
I still feel this is the best ever machine built by Kawasaki. Okay apart from H2/H2R
It’s also better than the zx7r
Along with ZZR 1200, 1400 and H2

did you get a zx12r? 955i is a butter knife compared to zx12r scalpel.
You dont need to see the numbers on a zx12r. You just know your over 200k when the pin is straight up and down lol. 10 years on one taught me that.
I heard best upgrade is a billet clutch?
So cool! The A1 looks like a sooped up guppy🤘🤘
I have one for sale. Spokane Washington Usa. 2900 miles. Like new!
