I can attest to how important this vitamin is. Two months ago in the middle of the night my 68 yr old husband fell in the bathroom and was taken by ambulance to the hospital under “stroke alert”. After a CT and two MRI’s the neurologist could not find any sign of a stroke in his brain. After three days it was determined that my husband had a B1 deficiency not a stroke. He is still in rehab three times a week to help strengthen his body and repair the damage that was done to his brain. He is now almost entirely back to normal. Been a long terrifying road and we are thankful to the Lord who has brought my husband through this.
Oh my gosh yeah two weeks ago I was in the hospital with a stroke thank God it was no bigger than what it was I would’ve been paralyzed on one side of my whole body I’m doubling up on B1 too God only knows why I had that stroke😩
My hub collapsed last year from what I suspected was B12 deficiency. When he finally conceded to go to the doctor (not easy as he could hardly stand), after checking him over & doing blood tests (including B12 which I had to request), he could find no obvious reason for the collapse. He dismissed the B12 which was sitting at around 350 (range 190-900), not high in the scheme of things but high enough for the doc to ignore it. Faced with either having to go to the hospital for more tests or me armed with a bottle of sublingual liquid B12 drops with both active forms, scared witless by the thought of going into hospital with CV still rampant, he opted for the latter. I started giving him 3 x the normal dose split into 6 during the day (I feel a smaller amount absorbs better under the tongue than a larger one), within 2 days he was rallying & it was very evident B12 deficiency had been the issue. The doctor’s response was just, “well if it’s working, carry on”. Thanks for nothing, mate. 🙄. I’m just grateful that unlike him, I am fully cognisant of the symptoms. The thing is, not only do very few doctors know or understand the symptoms of B12 or B1 deficiencies (which can often be very similar), but they also are very fixated on serum test results which can often be very misleading. Not only do serum blood tests not show what is going on at cellular level, but neither do they determine how much B12 in the blood is active or inactive. If most in the blood is inactive, it may look fine in the test result but it cannot get into the cells. Many people seem to have issues converting inactive to active these days. Perhaps due to antibiotics or other drugs/substances destroying the B vitamin-metabolising microbes in our guts or some other factor (B2 deficiency perhaps - which may be the cause of poor methylation. B vitamins are synergistic & should all be taken as they work with & support each other. I have found that my body demands more B12 for instance, when I take higher dose B1, Thiamine). If you have problems absorbing B12 then your serum results will almost certainly be low, & that is obvious, but if you can absorb it but have issues converting it or metabolising it, that is not so obvious & the serum test result is not showing the real story. So many with occult B12 deficiency get missed every year. It’s very sad. Thiamine deficiency is rarely ever looked for, let alone diagnosed. Again, the testing for that - if anyone thinks to do it at all - can also be fallible. I’m so pleased for you that it was tested for & treated.

Luckily thanks to the ssri it dissapeared. When taking the ssri min. dosis i acted euphoric which could have been a good indication it was not what i needed. For 3 months i had improvements but i had to increase the intake after and this again some time later, over the course of 3 years i was back to the same. After 4 days of taking Benfotiamine 300 mg, I feel such a difference in my body. I really believe I was deficient in this vitamin. I had really bad brain fog and my neuropathy was getting bad. I’m also B12 deficient. It’s interesting that no doctor even clued into this.

I just discovered you doc and I think your amazing. We share the same thoughts and values and its fantastic to have someone in the medical field who values humanity rather than money.
I starting taking B1 and B12, it's unbelievable how bad it is to be deficient in these vitamins, I also take Magnesium for better absorbsion of the vitamins.
If you don't mind me asking. What type of magnesium are you taking? I am confused from trying to figure out which one to take for my muscles because I am taking magnesium glycinate but it is not helping much.
Listening to your description on coffee/tea draining us/me of B1… meanwhile I pay good money for coffee, tea, organic butter and organic 1/2&1/2 then pay more good money to replace the B1 it stole. The irony is not lost on me- Truly appreciate your hard hitting revelations 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻 I’ve been thinking of fasting, looks like now is a good time to detox that caffeine addiction. TY so much!
I’m 72 with fibromyalgia (probably most of my life, but diagnosed in 1988) and just about every problem I get- it’s from fibromyalgia. Even fast heart rate for years! My dr finally had me have tests and put me on b/p med but also Atenolol. I am watching my rate with taking Benfotiamine and regular B1 , but do hope B1 will help me naturally get off these two meds. Then I’d be off any medication- and I’m sure the drs wouldn’t believe it could be all credited to B1 (and God for helping me to find out about this). Thank you for this information!!!
Dr. Osborne, I am advised that Vitamin B1 [thiamine] is a poorer form of B1 which is water-solube. The best form of B1 is Benfotiamine [fat-soluble]. The daily intake is 600 mg without side effect. May I have your comment please.

Dr. Osborne, your videos are amazing. Very in depth and informative. The ass backwards segment is awesome. Love you. Just discovered you. All what you say I'm totally aligned with. I'm 75 not on any medication, use my own common sense with all that implies. Don't drink smoke. Don't watch msm. I used to watch lots of different Russian channels until they got banned. I got polymyalgia. After watching you I got off prednizone and avidly following your advice and my inflammation has gone down considerably. I'm just starting all your instructions this last week. Thank you Dr Osborne.
I have had the experience of a doctor looking at my as if I had three heads. Because I was not on any medication. I’m 54. Got deregistered from the practice because I never went!
Same for me. I am 71 yrs and on no meds as yet! I try my best to have the best vitamins that I can afford to buy. I don't have a doctor for the past year, because I stopped going to mine. All he likes to do is write prescription for any aches or pain you try to talk to him about. I am looking for a new doctor because my insurance company says you have to have a primary care doctor. I wish I did not need to get one because they don't listen to you anyways. The only complaint I have is getting muscle spasms in my feet. I take a magnesium but it does not help much. I wish I knew which ones will work for spasms because there is so many different types, I am taking glycinate at the moment but it is not helping much, but I will do my best to take care of myself so I don't end up in hospitals I am terrified of them.
Yes, I can well understand why you're not on any medication. I am 78 and also not on any type of medication. However I'm experiencing and have been for a while all the symptoms of vitamin B1 deficiency. Had my blood tested twice and all was alright perfectly healthy results according to the doctor. I was sent away with the same symptoms begin with. I guess you could call me walking dead woman! Same as if my body is not strong enough to hold itself up, I feel like collapsing. After I've seen this video I hope you're purchasing vitamin B1 and immediately start taking it. Believing that this is the answer to my problem. Thank the Lord! And thank the Lord for this doctor oh, that is so willing to help people like us. God bless him and his practice!

Could you do a video on all the B-vitamins and the cause of depletions due to medications and other factors? I understand there is quite an overlap between the different B-vitamins. Omgoodness!!! Thank you SO very very very much for making this video because I have been suffering from these exact symptoms/issues & I was even diagnosed with RSD Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy which would make sense in this case too if it hadn’t begun because of a botched ankle surgery. Anyway I am extremely deficient in many vitamins! My potassium levels get SO low it’s a wonder I haven’t actually had a heart attack & died yet! The last time I was at the ER my level was either a 3 or 4 for potassium & even while taking a prescription supplement my vitamin D levels won’t raise above 15 so there’s obviously a problem with my body’s ability to absorb the nutrients from the foods I consume. I have been experimenting child-labor like excruciating abdominal pain & bloating & extreme constipation & diarrhea for at least 15yrs now but at this point EVERY single time my bowels move now, I am in screaming bloody murder agony in my upper left quadrant and it’s basically acting as though there’s a blockage in that area until the pressure becomes so great that it forces its way through there which feels like I’m being cut open inside of my stomach! It’s been pure misery and it’s effects my relationships with everyone around me & it used to scare my daughter to the point she would cry and beg me to let her call EMS! I don’t let her however because I know that once I can get it out I will be OK. I am going to try taking more of this vitamin and see how it works for me because any improvement would greatly increase my quality of life. I have literally become agoraphobic at this point and can’t eat out or even go to the grocery store unless I have been fasting all day long. It’s nearly caused me to lose my marriage and the depression I experience is far more severe than ever before! It’s a waking nightmare and the RSD only makes my life all the more unbearable! I will be sure to leave an update if I notice any changes. I am scheduled for an upper Gi & colonoscopy towards the end of this month so I will definitely 💯 let everyone know what happens!
Also many digestive/elimination issues are caused by B1 deficiency. - IBS, Irritable bowel, gastroperesis, GERD which as yiu stated, are under the function of parasympathetic nervous system (specifically, the the Vagus Nerve😮). If deficient you will feel INSTANT relief from the first dose
Yup, it gave me SIBO and taking high doses of B1 fixed it. I felt instant relief from the first dose but it still took a couple of months to resolve it all.

Thanks for sharing. I also have good experience with vitamin B1. It helped me to overcome the symptoms you mentioned. How important is magnesium in combination with B1? I have learned it helps B1 get into the cell? Is that correct?

I take a supplement that has thiamine HCL and benfo in it, the ratio is 25 / 100 mg per capsule. I started my mega thiamine dose protocol a few months ago. Now I am on 15 capsules a day, that is 1500 mg of benfo + 375 mg of HCL. No improvement at all. When I finish this supplement, I am going to try TTFD which is supposed to be the best form of B1 but it's really hard to obtain, even harder than benfo. I recently told my doctor that I felt my shortness of breath coming from the abdominal area she acted as if I was crazy, smh. Thank you for posting your experience, I also had Covid back in December.

After 4 days of taking Benfotiamine 300 mg, I feel such a difference in my body. I really believe I was deficient in this vitamin. I had really bad brain fog and my neuropathy was getting bad. I’m also B12 deficient. It’s interesting that no doctor even clued into this.
Which brand do you take ?
I was taking Doctor’s Best Benfotiamine but I stopped due to the side effects. Now I just get Myer’s Cocktail IVs.
@@Sirie7206 thanks I’m gonna order the benfotiamine and read up on the myers cocktails . Where these pretty severe side effects?
@@mandyhaven4290Yeah. Like it gave me insomnia and at one point I was getting panic attacks. I think it’s because it lowers your blood sugar and I’m not a diabetic and I eat low carb. Who knows. But the Myers work very well on me. No side effects.
@@Sirie7206 thank you for your reply. definitely doesn’t sound like fun . I used to get anxiety every month until I did carnivore . It’s been a year since anxiety. But I rarely eat anything other than meat . I’m find it hard to pass fiber especially raw vegetables. I sure hope this vitamin don’t do the same to me . Anxiety definitely not something I miss.

I’ve been thinking of fasting, looks like now is a good time to detox that caffeine addiction.
There is also TTFD thiamine. Check objective nutrients. I use TTDF daily and benfothiamine in addition on days I work out.
You are the best, most knowledgeable person on nutrition and disease that is not afraid to stand up and speak out. This ain't Kansas anymore. Thank you.
This is the best video on Vitamin B1 Thiamine, i've seen thus far
Dr. Osborne, your videos are amazing. Very in depth and informative. The ass backwards segment is awesome. Calling out those leading industries ineffectively, calling out the push of untested vaccines, calling us out as individuals to be accountable and proactive. And the segment where you break down a label on food item (awesome). Way to give access to so much sustenance which we need as a society and as individuals. God bless you in your efforts and thank you for doing what you do. Subscribed and liked and will definitely share and suggest your content brother. 🇺🇸
Me too. I am 59, no meds ever, just good healthy food plus supplements.

Low B2, to name one, has the about the same symptoms as B1. It would be nice to have a chart where all that is explained.

Dr. Osborne for President!
Lol! No thanks!!
for me this is the most important vitamin of all vitamins. pharma meds are depleting this B1.
Thank you, Dr. O for all your knowledge 🙏
Good learning from you Dr.Osborne thanks

Hope Dr Osborne mentions vitamin K2 in one of his future episodes.
Yeah it helps absorb vitamin D3
@@janellarosado9881 no it doesn't, many believe it's a calcium manager (I believe Dr. O has mentioned he doesn't believe in this - or at least stated recently there is no reason to take K2 if you are tested and your level is sufficient, others do and many supplements contain both for that reason though). I take a supplement that has thiamine HCL and benfo in it, the ratio is 25 / 100 mg per capsule. I started my mega thiamine dose protocol a few months ago. When I finish this supplement, I am going to try TTFD which is supposed to be the best form of B1 but it's really hard to obtain, even harder than benfo. My symptoms are exactly like these of B1 deficiency and already lost 10 years of life due to doctors not being able / not wanting to help me.
