UK - Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 - Folding Rear Brake Lever
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 лют 2025
- In todays short video I customise the foot brake lever of the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 to add a knurled alloy folding peg. I have just done the brake side at present as this is where the case is most vulnerable to puncture from the lever in the event of a drop/crash.

Simple upgrade, yet totally awesome. Thanks for sharing it!
Thank you, glad you liked it!
I believe it needs to be angled a bit up as well, so a side fall will move it up and back
Yes you could do. Easy to adjust.
Hi Dorman, your video was impeccable. I tried to source the folding peg w/o success. Sigh!
Very nice neat little mod for a green laner.
Like the look of the lightening holes too. 😎
Thank you sir
Great mod. Had I watched this last week I may not have ordered the foot brake lever from TEC...
Not sure how strong it is yet but all ok so far
Beautiful work.
Thanks pal
Great modification 👍
Thanks Tony
I find with my back break foot leave is to close to the engine casing worry about catching the casing and marking it 🤔
I also planned to do that, also with the shift arm. but unfortunately didn't have time. maybe this winter. 👍👍👍👍
Yea it worked out well and hasn’t fallen off yet!
Made that look easy haha. Nice mod
The joy of editing 😉
Great video! Keep it up mate!!!
Thanks much appreciated 👍
Great video , perfect way of editing . Lovely job too , BUT my one issue is with the holes bored
in the lever to lighten it ... I would be a bit unsure that it hadn't weakened it too much ?
I'm sure its probably ok but its difficult to be sure .
Thanks David, Time will tell!
@@DormanDiaries the perfect reply.
It's steel and lever does not get much load on it - just toe pressure. I don't see any issue.
Bloody brilliant.
Thank you 🙏🏼
Awesome work! 👍
Thanks C4rlos. Only set out to do the folder then thought hey ho, whilst I’m at it!
Tidy job , looks nice 👍🏻
Thanks you Mr Bills
Only thing different I would have done is made two adjustment positions instead of the one ( as you drilled a hole their anyway ) I see your using the Motion Pro compact tool kit as well .
Good show
I just found the video, very very excellent idea. Beats the high price of after-market rear sets.
One question...Where did you find the folding peg?
Thanks for a great video. I'll subscribe to get more of your great ideas.
Thanks Mark, I found it on eBay but seemed to be a bit of a one off as I've wanted another to do the other side but can't find one! If you find any let me know!
@@DormanDiaries no worries, I'm on the search.
I'll definitely let you know what I find. Cheers!
@@del5.0 Thank you!
Great feature for a Scrambler bike!!👍🏻, advice (take it or leave it) never ever place your hand in front of any power tool (in your case angle grinder with a cutting wheel), just saying
Cuts from the grinder are particularly fun, they self cauterise! Done it a few times even through thick leather gloves!
@@DormanDiaries little touches here and there are “ok”, in 30 + years as a ship industry engineer I have seen real bad cuts and believe me they aren’t fancy
Looks awesome, do you mind me asking what multi tool you were using?
Thank you. Its a motion pro trail tool to which Ive added a 3/4mm hex bit.

Looks awesome... will do the same to my GT.... ;-)
Nice
Well what can i say except...👏👏👏👏......well done, good idea batman !!!!😁😁😁😁
Thank you 🙏🏼
Where do I buy the peg from???
Dorman Diaries, buen trabajo
Gracias!
I like it.
I'd like to make this mod to my int but I'd like a little longer "pedal." My foot has slipped off it during braking occasionally. Any likelihood of finding one that's a bit longer? Cheers
Any chance of finding one - period? I can't find one of those danged things anywhere...
I’m struggling now, want one for the other side. If you’re not bothered about folding could get one made
link product please
Your bike is coming along nicely and you have a good workshop set up, I wish I had a pillar drill 😎. But not such a fan of you multi tool 🤔
Its ace that trail tool! I like to use it for the simple stuff, good practice for roadside repairs. Get yourself a pillar drill, one of the best things I ever bought makes metal work sooooo much easier.
@@DormanDiaries Funny, I was just looking through the comments hoping to find a name of a link for that multi-tool. Like you said, seems like a great tool, side of the road or not. What is it?
NVRMND, found it a couple comments below.
Hi, great mod. Where did you get the pedal from?
I got it on ebay back in January, they don't seem to have anymore stock. Only place I can find now is Italy for twice the price. I only wanted a folding one for this side, other side not as vulnerable so may use a solid knurled one there.
Where did you source the little folding piece?
I got it on eBay, but back in January its been knocking around my work bench since. I’ve been watching another so thought they had more but when you click on it its out of stock! You can get them from Italy but twice the price!!
Like the format and a great result but please take care regarding safety, nobody wants you injured so you cannot ride or make more videos for us. I spent years in engineering like you and have seen some terrible injuries from rotary wire brushes, grinding and vices not bolted down on pillar drills. You may have the experience but some watching may not. Not trying to be critical because I really like your channel.
Good advice, my belt isn’t super tight so the drill will jam rather than rip my fingers off. If I was using a more powerful machine I’d definitely bolt the vice.
Why do you have to fold brake lever ..instead anyone try to design foot pegs which are foldable backwards in stock condition,,to be fold able frontwards also which will help riders push and pull bike front and back using feet without any obstacle
I’ve got the foldable route so it folds in a crash or if you hit the side of a rut etc. You fit in this orientation for off road as its typical to catch them. I’ve done it before 🙈
Those bloody intrusive foot pegs should br motorized to retract with the push of a button!
I see what you did there ....an instructional video on how to to grind , drill and use chemical based products without gloves ! The HSE police have spoken , this time just a warning sir ! ......Nice mod though ! 👍
I’ve been scarring my hands since I was 6 year old, they are a road map of memories now!
I nearly had to put a glove on though after drilling all them holes, got a bit warm!
@@DormanDiaries looks good ! Tec do a drilled cnc one but I like your re-purposing of the original 👍 Not sure I need a folding one as I'm only on road , and I've just had mine powder coated ...had I seen this first I might have drilled it ( both sides ) !
ah yes, speed holes
?
