Elliott Peters tax and insurance as you have to provide a motor trade insurance. It’s really used by garages and car trade if they moving it to one place.
@@s3bby513 I am aware of the requirements to qualify for trade plates.I am just saying that they absolutely do not provide blanket coverage to drive any vehicle, in any condition, on the roads. Their sole purpose is to negate the need to register and tax a roadworthy vehicle whilst it is being moved from place to place, test driven by a potential buyer, or following a repair.. Provided you have valid insurance, it is not necessary to use trade plates to drive to and from a pre-booked MOT test. Nothing can prevent you falling foul of the law if you are driving an unroadworthy vehicle.
What do you think about the additives to clean the dpf that reduce the melting point of the particles?. Or perform a decarbonization with machine and hydrogen?.
To add a little load to the alternator to warm up engine quicker and then to use the power given off from the alternator giving max while the car needs to be revved hard during the static regen process.

Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) is what it says. Diesel engines have particulates which are harmful to the lungs. The filter is designed to capture these particulates and burn them off during a normal regen cycle. The regen cycle tends to happen when the car is driving at a constant, like fast road or motorway. Depending on the car, regen uses either a fifth injector. As corrected by Ian U, ad-blue is used to reduce other emissions! This why modern diesels are not suitable for town driving. If they are not given the time to regen, the DPF will get full causing the issues shown in the video. Here is a Wiki on the subject - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diesel_particulate_filter Some petrol direct injection cars are starting to have particulate filters too - www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/industry/volkswagen-equips-petrol-cars-particulate-filter-technology
@@LMAutoRepairs it depends heavily on usage I guess. I have 2.0tdci that has almost 600 000km's on clock and to my knowledge has original dpf installed. I got error once, but rubber hoses for sensors where fried. But yeah. I most definitely wouldn't buy dpf diesel engined car if I was driving constantly less than 20km rides. I noticed that I usually run car for about 25km's or more when regeneration has triggered automatically. It's really easy to dismiss required stats for it to trigger. If I recall correctly there's engine temp, running time for engine, required speed for specific time and exhaust temperature requirements.
Problem will back in not long time. Check flow on the DPF additional fuel injector. I think so flow is low or no flow.

Personally, I never used those additives, nor have used those machines or that service....

The ash accumulation not solved with a regeneration, must remove the dpf and clean it....
Yes... that's correct!
Thank you for watching and for your comment!
I heard that dfp filter (on this engine) have a accept procent for working fine. Can you tell me who is that procent? More then 50% need regeneration?
Can the dpf codes be reset automatically if a manual dpf clean is done by taking it up the motorway for an hour in 4th?
Depends how blocked it is...
It worth a try...
👍👍👍
Are these fitted with Eloys the same as the Peugeot’s ?
No... Don't think they are...
Thank you for watching!
Why do you have to have lights on air con to do dpf cheers.
To add a little load to the alternator to warm up engine quicker and then to use the power given off from the alternator giving max while the car needs to be revved hard during the static regen process.
You should really make sure to preheat the engine up to operating temperature. Do not do as he did in the video as the engine temp was clearly to low. This could very easily create engine damage
Again, that's why the regen never started until the engine was up to the necessary temp...
Thank you for watching and for your comment!
You are turning on the front heater instead of the back windshield.
Either is an electric load...😉

Hi love your video , can you please do a video on dynamic regeneration thanks

Hey buddy, does your autel go into Mercedes braking systems?
I use Delphi ds150e (Chinese clone)
And it doesn’t get into the braking system on Mercedes vehicles. I’m looking at getting a proper system and spending some good money on a system.
Which would you recommend?
Yes... the Autel does...

hello good afternoon, what is your diagnostic machine ??? Autel? model ?? thank you !

Hello friend, are you an Autel representative? I am looking for a diagnostic machine which model do you advise? Autel MK808BT is a good choice? thank you very much

Depends what you want it for...
But is a good choice.
Check their website, and compare the different models... Will help you making a decision...
No, I am not an Autel representative.
Hi i have the same problem P242F pressure at idle is about 0kpa and at 3000 rpm is 20kpa which means 200 hPa, according to my experience for 1.6L duratorque the pressure at 3000 RPM should be around 30 hPa which means I have to much pressure (200 hPa). I wanted to do a static regen. I’m not able to delete the fault code P242F so the PCM refusing to enter the regeneration mode how did you delete the fault? Thank for the help.
Try a dynamic regeneration...
See if it does it...
If the pressure is too high, the car might refuse a regeneration due to safety reasons...
In that case replace the DPF, or remove it and clean...
👍👍👍
I bet your neighbours love you 😂😂
They do... I fix everything for them!

I can't remove the fault code so I can't strat regeneration process
Matyas if u disconnect the maf sensor a couple of times and clear the maf codes it will let u clear the dpf codes
Did you just use a generic scan tool to run the regen?
Autel MS908P...
Thank you for watching!
You can buy Autel Ap 200 , it's a little obd tool from autel that have nearly everything and it's free for 1 make.
Hi there I have same problem. How u rest code From ecu. I have 3 scanner not let me do it
Just as per the video...
If you can't do it, either there is still a problem with the car, or your tools can't do it...

*The engine is very happy to do this. This is just a momentary solution.*

I don't understand why people even bother with those silly diagnostics all in 1 tools :D when you have Forscan that is Ford specific and all features just work ;)
If you only work on ford's yes... make sense...
Try to scan a BMW with the forscan tool...🙄

DONT TRY THIS. If DPF is blocked, it can severely damage something under the hood. It happened to me and it will happen to you

Can this be completely removed from the system and just use a normal exhaust system?

Air pollution is caused by volcanoes and Chinese and Indian factories America is the worst.

How?
I have a Ford focus 2009 South Africa build, the engine warning symbol came on then awhile later the engine malfunction light.
Called a tow truck ,mechanic said his code reader couldn't communicate with the car, told me to take it to Ford dealership ($240 per hour)
Possibly $3000 to fix it, the car is not worth it.
Now l just want to get rid of the system and not have a sensor show up a code.
So please help if you can I'm an aged disabled pensioner and can't afford the scammers at the dealership.

If l know what to do l can do it myself, I'm sick of paying out $145 per hour to workshops that take their time and do nothing other than tell you that it needs parts that are more than the car.

Seriously dont try this if your DPF is blocked. It can damage engine or one of many other things
If it is heavily clogged yes, it is risky...

What is a DPF? (sorry if stupid question)
Diesel Particulate Filter
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diesel_particulate_filter
Thank you for watching and for your comment!
Here is a Wiki on the subject - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diesel_particulate_filter
Some petrol direct injection cars are starting to have particulate filters too - www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/industry/volkswagen-equips-petrol-cars-particulate-filter-technology
Thanks, I had a message engine systems fault on a focus and this appeared, so thought there might be a connection.
@@konradc12
Adblue has nothing to do with DPFs. Adblue is the reagent used with a Selective Catalytic Reduction system for reducing NOx emissions.
@@supernoodle48 Thanks for correcting me. I will amend my reply. 👍
Dpf off and flush it with water and dpf cleaner. Takes 2h all together

The codes in the ecu that tou see at the start of the video... you need to clear them before starting the regen...
