- Many people saw a CJ car on E85 make 480RWHP, so then the obvious question was asked, "How much would the same combo make on pump gasoline". Well here you have it a newly built engine with stock specs and com cap stage 2 camshafts.
The rest of the specs are in the video.
Magnaflow exhaust fitment by Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder.
Stephen Moriel u 😂
Haha forreal though!
I know Cobra jet is the top dog but my God by the time you buy the intake, throttle body, and cold air it's like 2 grand.
familyjewels7 you can find used setups for wayyyyyy cheaper just look on social media mostly
Ported '18's intake manifolds work with S197's, make same power, and you have more options for CAI as the TB is not oval.
ua-cam.com/video/DO8N-wRcVPk/v-deo.html
2018 Intakes have been said to make same or more power over the cobra jet intake
@@RicoSuave229 they dont make the same it was a little less in the comparison test when it was ported it made close to the same but a ported cj would have made more and it makes power higher too vs the 18 but I agree the 18 is a better bet for the $ spent for sure and you can use stock tbody and air intake setups
*MOAR OF THIS!!!!*
The wing killed the mustang
Respectable numbers, good stuff, there's hope for my 14 GT.
Of course there is man. The intake manifold and intake cams are the main things that separate these from what the 18s do. I know they got higher compression but once you got at least intake cams upgraded and an upgraded intake manifold like this car these early cars can make damn good power and theyre lightee, not to mention the gearing on manual cars is much better than 18 up manuals. These cars have been deep into the 10s na just like the later models both manual and auto.
@@michaelharris748 What ever I do it's going to be NA, wish it wasn't a CS, a lot of crap I don't need but the price was very right.
@@400hpmustang it kinda bugs me when people act like these are old news or inferior because the 18s are "so much better" they just have better parts stock like cams and intake manifold etc. You can easily add the biggest part of the differences to the earlier cars (like i said before) the compression does make them have a little more power even after intake manifold and intake cam upgrades but it isnt enough extra to make up for the weight differences. These cars are just as capable they just dont make as much with simple stuff like long tubes exhaust air intake and tune. The 18 also picks up more on e85 because it has more aggressive compression, the higher the compression the better the gains are with race fuel or e85. I seen a manual 12 with cj intake and l&m intake cams fbo minus headers and e85 doing 480 whp and it was racing an 18 10r80 car that also had fbo minus headers and a cj intake and was doing 495 wheel and they raced from a roll and it was pretty close all the way to the top of 4th with 331s in the 12 thats prob 150-160 mph so for it to hang with a 10r80 car with 15 lesa hp on the same dyno that shows you there is hope for these older models after all. Thats what made me realize hey there is hope for these cars (like you said). Look for that video on youtube i can't remember the name but youll know it when you see it i think youll enjoy that video.
Scotty N yea I’m leaning towards a na build myself here too, I can afford to spend 7k+ on a blower but I can’t justify it, it just doesn’t stop there, you’ll end up wanting more power then having to buy forged internals and god knows what else, eventually I’d be more into the car than what I paid for it
Ah my twin
What kinda spoiler is this?
My bolt on 12' makes no power on the dyno (397) but runs 11.6s each and every time.
Love the quieter magnaflow street/borla touring exhaust on an off-road setup. I’m assuming this guy has a full floating axle with those fixed calipers in the back? Looks like he’s all set for road racing.
Where can I find that aftermarket tank at 1:11 ?
Summitt racing
damn shes got some revs!!!!!!!!
Similar to the 2012 GT I owned. Mods were, Tremec 6 speed, Boss intake, comp stage 3 cams, mildly ported heads, Boss rods and pistons, American Racing headers, 3" off road X pipe, MagnaFlow compition cat back. Riding on drag radials and with 93 octane made 465 rwhp.
Mark Siniard I’ll do this set up for my swap
@@lorenzoenzo8050 I think on e85 and a real radial tire this combo would have been ALOT closer to 500rwhp
man I have learned so much by watching this channel. I have built several Ford engines, done about everything mechanical wise to these cars, but I still learn so much by watching you. favorite channel. hands down
Whats wrong with the gt500 throttle body? what would be the horsepower difference from a twin 65? The GT500 throttle body can be had used on eBay for around $90 or brand new for 150, and the other aftermarket throttle body is $650 +. I just can't justify spending $500 more for a few horsepower. And I'm pretty sure the GT500 throttle body would have the best drivability right
It's a restriction and he literally said in the video it's about a 10-12 rwhp increase by going with a VMP dual 67mm. The CJ65 and VMP67 both offer near stock drivability. I have stg 3 cams, CJ and the VMP67 and Jon Jr has my car running really good. Smooth idle and has ZERO chugging in low speed/low RPM driving.
Maf flow was 51lbs per min. I have twin 67mm and only see 48#s. Is this controlled by throttle body angle and CAI?
I do learn something every time from your videos. That part of the reason I like your channel so much.
Is the cobra jet intake a worthwhile mod on an 18 5.0?
Can I be Frank Hell YES!!
Sell me your 18 mani lol
I thought the 18' GT and GT350 intake was the new mod to have.😲
Man O War Nothing compares to the Cobra Jet, simply nothing.!
You will need either a new hood, or to have the engine lowered. It's not an easy bolt on like the GT350. The 2018 manifold also requires extra steps and I'm not convinced the performance gains are better, just different than a factory 2015-2017 stock mani.
You said if it had a better throttle body which do you recommend?
Finally a youtuber who knows their shit and posts quality mustang info, subscribed🤙
Love all the old PBH videos
That thing revs to the moon.. I love it Lol.
Hey Alex! I havent even started watching your video yet, However I wanted to Tell you. FORD IS TROLLING YOU. The Ad that i get for your video is no shit, a Eco sport advertisment...
11-12 ❤️
Those wheels are beautiful
This is exactly what I want in a couple years when I get out of college. Should be able to find a good deal on one.
What kind of grill is that with them fog lights?
That Kenny Brown spoiler though
smokeum12 kenny brown talked him into those forgeline wheels and bear brakes i see. He dropped alot of coin with kb
I was going to ask about the wing
dsmfury
It's called the "Boss plus" from Kenny Brown. Basically larger dimensions from a California Special spoiler
smokeum12 I found it! Thanks bud
Have you seen any coyotes with the Holly Sniper manifold?
Parker Davenport absolute garbage manifold. If you want to make less power and torque than stock then I highly recommend it.
Don’t leave me hanging on that turbo shit at the end!!!!
woodyfive0 I wont
So not true vmp did a intake battle 18 Manifold works better with 11-14 because of heads and cams. This is a vague topic. For S550 yes cobra jet is better gen2 blocks have heads similar to th boss 302
Wrong. Lol they redid one recently and all of a sudden the cj was better. Cj is better for all period..stop arguing this with me. I tune them for a living.
@@YDBT4LIFE does the cobra jet provide low end torque like the 18 Manifold?
@@YDBT4LIFE torque is real hp.
@@johnlucero9843 here we go...torque bullshit. Horsepower bud. Horsepower wins races this isnt a fucking diesel truck.
@@johnlucero9843 omg. Hahahahaha ...aaaa..aa.. hahahahahhahahah
Yo Yolo, for my mt82, 3.31 gear, 28" tire setup do you recommend 4th or 5th gear on the dyno? I'm shooting for a 4 digit dyno number on 19" drag radials. The car made 860whp with a d1sc on 18psi in 4th gear on a 275/60/15 et street R. It's now on an f1a-94 at 21psi. I'm just looking to crack 1000whp and will using 5th show more power?
The car has been 9.6 at 147 when making 825whp in negative d/a. The 1000whp thing is just a goal that id like to reach as i know dyno numbers dont tell the whole story.
5th is 1:1 5th gear. Make sure your rear tire is up to it and it's on a street tire
Thank you for doing the closed up on the intake while he was at WOT. Mine has made a "rattle" sound ever since I put the boss manifold and jlt on and I was worried but I guess it's normal for these motors.
Alex I have a question. I have a 2016 5.0 with a cobra jet setup with the twin 67mm tb and the ford racing intake, long tube headers and exhaust, on 93 car only made 417hp and like 360tq on the best of like 5 pulls. Sent the logs back to Lund and they said everything seemed fine. Any idea what could be wrong? Butt dyno seems to agree car feels less aggressive than it did with the stock manifold which is a bummer since the cj setup is so expensive. Thanks
Alex, you should do an informational video about fuels. Many of us out west dont have access to E85. Additives, fuels etc? WHen my GT500 goes back to weekend/race duty Ill probably start filling up on pump VP 100.
Alex when will you tell us as to why you are calling the Fairmont project hush money? lol. I'm stupid curious.
That black 18 10r80 turbo not fucking around
Thats a bad bitch.
Steve from UPR’s Car 😍
Do you happen to know if he has an IG?
Loved my Magnaflow Street setup with long tubes and no cats but the 3” piping was beating the shit out of something under my car. Shit had to go. Now it’s GT500 AB’s and 2.75” piping.
Sweet car but twin 60s on cobra jet cars make me sad. Especially when they shelled out the bucks for cams
Did not know that about the drag radials on the dyno thing. Makes me wonder how much it messed with the #'s on my 13 Coyote. Not that it matter a whole bunch to me cause what she traps and E.T.'s at the track is what matters in the end.
Can't wait for that teaser video to drop...
Guys I need advice. I have a chance to get either a '13 GT or' 15 GT. Both are around the same price and same mileage as well. Which should I buy?
Nigel B. 15 GT all the way. The gen 2 coyote is a solid motor
@@viktor8614 Thanks man, I'm gonna go with the 2015. Can't wait!
@@Nigel__ No problem. I have a 15 MT-82 PP. Love the car, been very satisfied with it. Its a much better car than my 13 GT.
13 gt..looks better plus less weight...
So 18 manifold and bolt ons on 93 octane be like 430-440 whp ? mt82
It has 6 piston brake calipers on the front and rear. Did he change the master cylinder to have enough pressure to actuate them.
I have 2013 gt with a boss intake and I also have a tr6060 in my car. My car made about 30-35 WHP less than every other mustang that had the same setup on the stock mt82 on the same dyno. It was tuned all in 4th gear and my car has 410s in the rear. I know a dyno is just a measuring tool and many variables can cause a them to read differently, but what's up with the tr6060s seeming to read significantly less power?
4.10's are robbing you of a little hp maybe 10hp and the tr6060 is a bigger trans harder to spin may take another 10-15 hp.
Do you have any dyno pulls with the Ford Power Pack 2 installed on an S550?
When is that blowbyracing turbo 18 video dropping
I try to pick up as much information as I can every time I watch a video of yours. Also a good laugh! I have a NA 5.0 too and you showed me a lot of the best mods out there for NA cars. Getti g a clutch soon then going to have you tune it. 😎
Alex you crack me up man!! 😂🤣 beautiful stallion tho choppin up the block!!
What all is required to run an e85 tune? I have a bolt on 12' auto with converter.
Was the 18+ ever posted? 👀👨🏻🦼 love going back to watch older videos with this content 🛑🤠
Still waiting myself. Maybe tomorrow
What coolant tank is that? Since he didn’t have to relocate it for pmas
👀 was expecting the shift for like 6 seconds lmao. 8k rpm??
Come onnnnn Alex! How much does a low profile radial drag tire like that really actually grow at speed? Is it really that much of a difference? I can't see it being that big a deal. I could be wrong of course but I'd need to see a clean back-to-back comparison to be convinced. Great videos as always.
trtlepwr it absolutely affects it
whats that sound at 6:06? My car also has a CJ intake, and made that noise at the end of my drag race the other night...
I cant decided to either buy stage 3 comp cams or the whole cobra jet intake kit both in total would almost cost the same, please help
Do both and tune on e85 for 500 wheel lol
I had an 11 make 441 with JBA long tubes with a boss intake, steeda cold air.
Modded Automotive ported boss?
mistrot r nope, stock boss intake, I also had 3inch xpipe to 3 inch magnaflow catback. And a great tuner lol
mistrot r there is a video of the pull on my UA-cam page
Damn, I made the same with a ported boss, ported throttlebody, longtubes/full exhaust, Lund tuned. 6 speed
That 6060 robs power I've heard
Thats exactly what i want to do with my future 14 stang , just was he has in the engine not the looks or exhaust
The Black Turbo 18 look dope as fuk yolo
Alex. What is the most power you have seen on a mustang on 91 octane?
Was that the magnaflow competition catback?
I saw ur video long ago and I still live that car
I wonder how could he get on 91 octane?
Not a bad number but e85 will help a lot.
Sounds good looks good.
sick looking 12 stang, i can't wait to see the numbers on that turbo beast!!!
Who’s the owner of this thing? Does he have an IG?
How do i purchase a tune from you.
“Ahhhh gayyyyyy”😂😂😂
How do i purchase a tune from you.
What do you think he’s got into the power mods?
damn, i see that teaser at the end of the single turbo ‘18
Why is it bad to do such a long pull?
Damnnn that boost kicked in hard at the end lol
With that trans he needs a stiffer rear gear to get into the revs quicker. 3.73 would probably do the trick.
tominator 4.10 or more even..... im running 3.73 on my n/a 11 GT with a mt82 and still go through the traps in 4th gear.
JesseBerger...4.10 yes, but remember that this GT is running a Tremec 6 speed and they are geared differently than the Ford manuals. The stiffer a rear you get the more of 4th gear you'll use in the quarter mile. Those of us who also use our cars on the street need to consider that in their choice too.
tominator exactly why i said 4.10 or lower.... if i have a usable 4th with 3.73's in a mt82, his tr6060 in 4th with 3.73's will be equivalent to my 5th gear. But it all comes down to his usage and goals.
JesseBerger...Yep. I'll bet that the GT in this video doesn't even come close to using 4th in a quarter mile run! I have an 03 Cobra with T56 Magnum and 3.73s and I could definitely use like 4.30s or 4.56s to drag race with but 3.73s is a better compromise for the street. It's a blast too! LOL Your GT must be a trip to drive as well!
tominator yeah not like your termi. You've got immediate power. My coyote feels doggy until it gets over 5k..... but it rips from there to nearly 8k. Good for 11.60's so far!
Alex doesn’t the gear ratio change the Hp numbers a little bit?
Joe Gibbons yes slightly
@Alejandro Flores Is it even possible to contact to for questions about tuning? And if so how???
Tyree Canty I work for Lind. Any tuning inquiries go through them. Support@lundracing.com
Alejandro Flores thank you!
Talks crap about the terminator. Makes 450.
E.j. Lucas NA vs. Boost, yes, crap deserved
Just outta curiosity Lund make a tune for an 18 f-150?
Ethan Collins depends on demand as of now. Not enough demand.
:D Nitto Invo's in the house....
Anyone have a link for that wing
Also has LT headers...
How much if same car in 98 gas will make
stang raider about the same
Wheels look like forgeline knockoffs.. anyone recognize the center cap?
Billy Vision
They are definitely real forgeline wheels and they don’t have center caps on them
That’s the strange engineering axle 😂
What model wheels
Love these videos !
Why don’t you recommend the ford racing mono blade?
Car Authority the manufacturing is inconsistent
Alejandro Flores gotcha. I figured it’d make power but I’m sure those inconsistencies make tuning harder
what wing is that?
Do you need billit oil pump gears if running NA with a cobra jet intake on a automatic coyote?
Not unless you're bumping the limiter. Oil pump gears aren't needed at any certain power level, contrary to popular beliefs. Oil pump gears break when you bump the rev limiter ALOT or use a 2 step
He has the same tire combo as me Nitto Invo in the front and drags in the back. 😁
Coca Cola rears are Micky's
strokercoupe yea noticed that;)
That's hott.
Magnaflow muffll
yikes
But that is 450rwhp in 3rd gear, not 1:1.
sirnate54 he has 331 rear gears. With a t56. With 4:10 in 4th it will read similar maybe more. But with drag radials it reads lower regardless
Badass😎
Did this GT also have LT Headers?
StormMartialArt yeah
Fiiiirst
Yolo!!!
Corsa>Magnaflow
Which coolant tank is that?
Mishimoto
