    I have to agree on the production. I would love to hear this performed live! While all of their songs sound amazing in the studio, they always seem to kick them up a few notches when they do them live.

      True. But somehow I think this would be one of those that'll bever be played live. If it's meant to have the vocals on "back"... I don't know, just a vague hunch.

    7:47 Actually that tiny fish in a water drop is real, you can find it from the internet. In the video though they had to remake it digitally because they could not find the original one (many copies around) and ask for the permit or what ever it is called you have to have. The free diver parts are mainly from the video "One Breath Around the World" amazing video worth watching too.

      True, it isn't typical "soloist" sound that you get from pop/rock but part of the choir. And it was intentional. I think there was another song where they've had similar thing before.

    Never have I seen so many people commenting on how this track is plagued by "production errors" of one kind or another. Fantasy musical composers claiming that Tuomas & company got it wrong. If you don't like this track, then you don't like it. That's OK. But to claim that a professional production team that includes Tuomas released a track that is somehow flawed and not what they intended to create? Yeah, I'm going with Tuomas. I love the sound of this track.

      @ecbftl 12 днів тому +1

      Yes, Pip Williams, orchestral arranger, has said Tuomas likes to play strings on the keyboards, and they go to efforts in the orchestra arrangements to blend what Tuomas plays on the keyboards, with the pre-recorded Orchestra and Choir parts in studio and on stage. There are documentary videos where the Nightwish composing and production process is shown for a couple of recent albums. I hear a lot of the orchestra and choirs in this song. Not sure if the Harp was an actual Harp or played on the keyboard. Love the very low strings (Orchestral double bass?)and keyboard chords with the sighing choir in the outro.

They also had a new orchestral "director"(Pip Williams is retired) so maby that is a little change but, i think Tuomas wanted to have some more orchestral vibes in this song,we have to wait for the album to see if that's mainly for this song ,or that the rest of the album is a bit more "less produced".😆😉🤘 Still,it's a great song and fantastic video.🤘(live this gonna hit the fan😁)

    Nightwish dont dissapoint "did you feel the ghost energy song"
    I listened to this song many many times by now, and it is one i like to listen to with my headphones or without, its really a good song, when i can do so to me. Some say Floors voice is low in the mix, and i can agree its hard to get all words she sing, but if you look at it soundwise it sounds amazing!! and after a listen or 2, you know most of lyrics, and its no problem at all, its done fully on purpose for the sound experince of it, and Floor being part of the ancestor choir.. cant wait for rest of album!!
    Yesterwynde is the opening track on new album, i belive its only like a intro, its a little over 2 min long, #2 on album then is a almost 10 min song, thats proberly another epic!! #3 is where i think they bring in a heavy track, and this Perfume of the timeless is #5.. so i think its gonna be a good mix of heavy songs, Epics, and maybe a full balled.. Perfume of the timeless, well its almonst a ghost energy song right, telling all these ancestors is around in a timeless world, being around you still, and yourvthe perfume, also a message that your existens matters!! i feel tuomas also put in a little message that mankind could do better still, Einstein turn to ape..
    The title of the album is a word made by band member Troy Donockley, which Holopainen describes as the feeling of time, history, memory, and being connected to past generation, who have "all had their lives, their ups and downs, and they don't exist anymore, except as atoms scattered all over the universe. And we're going to be in that state pretty soon as well. So that should give you something to think about."
    Holopainen has described the album as being about humanism, history, and the inspiration thereof, and that outlook of the album is positive and optimistic ]

      better yet you could do the whole Anno Domini High Definition album. You already reacted to "Left Out" arguably the album's most laid back and moody song, whereas the rest of the album is quite heavy and technical, but with that quintessential Riverside dynamic. It clocks in at 44:44 in length, so while it contains some long prog epic type pieces, the entire album flows incredibly well in my opinion.

  • @alanfoster6589
    @alanfoster6589 12 днів тому +2

    Yes, the strings here are great. Just a personal opinion, but I think Tuomas is moving in the direction of writing purely for orchestra (and chorus). On the assumption that the band members are aging, Floor has a great solo career established, and the others may each call it "enough" at some point. Not everyone wants to be the Stones. I hope not, but...we'll see.

    • @strabel803
      @strabel803 11 днів тому +1

      Yes,that could be,like,tuomas also liking Hans Zimmer so much,nothing wrong with that but, a distance away from metal and surely,things change when we get older and Nightwish always used some different styles like folk,pop ,jazz into some of their songs. BUT, Floor still has the power and she is 43,that's the new 30😆,i still think that they can deliver some "fireworks",let's wait and see. Next to "personnel time off" , i think the whole situation worldwide is also a factor that maby put some things on hold. Let's hope that we still have some epic Nightwish in the near future.🤘

    Hi Gibi. Of all the bands you reacted to, you still haven't reacted to Ayreon? My o my. You really should! Ayreon is the creation of the Dutchman Arjen Lucassen; composer, arranger, producer, multi-instrumentalist, singer and especially a guy with a giant 'black book' filled with private phone numbers. He can rely on some of the world's best and famous singers to perform his music. To drop a few names: Bruce Dickinson, Chris Maitland, Clive Nolan, Damian Wilson, Daniel Gildenlow, Dave Brock, Devin Townsend, Devon Graves, Floor Jansen, James LaBrie, Russell Allen, John de Lancie (as narrator), etc., etc.. His music is story driven and multiple albums continue the same story.
    I suggest you start at "The Day That The World Breaks Down": ua-cam.com/video/oFuMKdrzPqU/v-deo.html&pp=ygUkYXlyZW9uIHRoZSBkYXkgdGhlIHdvcmxkIGJyZWFrcyBkb3du

      That's right, I listen to it all the time, even with an old computer with a mediocre sound card and €30 speakers. Yes, it seems a bit quiet sometimes, but that was probably intentional, as the orchestra should take up more space and the images speak for themselves.
