If like to send you a massive thank you!. the last 2 years ive been in a major mentally crisis. I have 3 severe issues and i have not been physically fit in 20 years since leaving the Army. Over the last 8 weeks i have lost 11lbs. My shin spints have nearly gone. I can fit in my old army pants. I have left my house properly for the first time in 2 years and i am 100% happier than i was a few months ago. My life has change dramatically since i started using your videos. I row now out of enjoyment, not just to stay fit. My body has change so much in just 8 weeks because of how much i enjoy your work out. I think for the first time in 20 years ill have my summer body back. But most important I will be out of my house, not staying inside out of shame of how i let myself go. Thank you for the bottom of my hearts for helping me improve my life again...
Switched to OMAD high protein, low carb, cut down on the Starches and Sugars and Processed Food, started walking 2 miles per day...... 371 lbs November 23............259 lbs feb 2024 , (I'm 6'2, 56 years old male, target weight 215 lbs-220lbs) if you fancy a pizza? have one OCCASIONALLY, if you fancy a burger? have one OCCASIONALLY, If you Fancy a CHINESE have one OCCASIONALLY, just a little bit of discipline works wonders Remember..... Calories in more than calories out=Weight Gain, Calories out more than calories in =Weight Loss. Will be adding this rowing programme in to speed up the process. Thank you DHR .....
Calories in calories out is BS. The human body is far more complex that a simple math problem. OMAD is not sustainable. Theres a reason why diets dont work
I have been following dark horse for many years now, he is THE BEST!! If you are new to this channel stick around, you won’t find a better motivator or online coach that is not only knowledgeable but engaging with his audience also 🤩
just ordered my model D concept 2 rower yesterday (which I have been wanting to do for at least 5 years), finally managed to make enough money to be able to purchase it...can't wait to use it, I'm gonna be all over it for a while I suspect. The wait alone...we're basically married now
Special thanks to you, five weeks ago I saw your video of the Perfect beginner rowing workout.Together with the video on the rowing machine im a few weeks on the go.Not to fast just perfect.I am not a fan of weights so I’m doing the combination of rowing/push ups.And i can tell you,it’s just perfect and hoping I’m getting better and better. So again thanks!! Keep up making great videos.greetings from Belgium(Europe)
When we moved to a house my husband got us one of the budget rowing machines and honestly, it's been just sitting there for a looong time. But then something clicked and I started using it recently, starting with beginner videos and getting tips how to properly move. I am so grateful for this channel and all the videos and help. I have a lot of weight to lose and this seems to be the only thing I can actually do and even like. Not expecting miracles, but hey, anything is better than nothing? I was wondering though, being quite short, having really short legs, if I follow along what Shane does in a timed workout, I'll never really get the same result, unless I go faster, right? If he does 5k in 20 minutes, chances are I'll only do half, right? Or is there something else I should be mindful of?
I love my rowing machine. but I had to lay low on it, because I hurt my back not on the roller at work. so I’m ready to get back to it I gained some weight. So l’m going to take it easy then get back into my routine. Thanks for the video I love your channel
Thanks for the vids! I'm a new rower. Picked up a used Concept 2 and started rowing. I have 4mm leg length discrepancy. I noticed my left foot (my left leg is longer) is hurting a bit and my right hip is as well. I'm sure it has to do with leg length discrepancy. I went thru this with my road bike and was able to fix with cleat shims. But how about rowing? How do you fix LL discrepancy? Thanks in advance...Pete in Seattle.
@pete98146 I have the same (right leg is 5mm shorter). When on my feet to exercise I have orthotic inserts, but for rowing I wear lighter shoes and pop in a foam heel lift in my right shoe. This was given to me at clinic when I was first diagnosed and I still use it. I have recently started rowing and this works for me.
With the rowing machine , if you have slight kyphosis and want to improve you're posture , it's kind of hard focusing on keeping your back straight and , as you suggest relaxing your shoulders, kind of a catch 22 ? Any advise appreciated. Cheers.😊
Have a question for you, do you have any thoughts about the Teeter Power 10 Eliptical Rower. Im a big guy and want me and my kid to get in some low impact cardio. Dont know if i shoud get the teeter 10 or get a regular rowing machine.
Hey Shane. Does this program work for people in their 50s? I started the Concept2 5k programme on 1 January and after two weeks I realised I was pushing too hard against an arbitrary goal rather than focusing on weight loss
Totally do-able. I find it's more useful however to give each it's own time and place to maximize the benefits of each. Otherwise you're just always doing HIIT stuff which does have value, I just tend to prefer the benefits of each independently.
Through our link :)? Concept2 is very strict with their pricing so you won't find discounts from anywhere, so if you want a new one, you could buy it through us and it's nothing extra for you but we get a benefit from it. If the retail price is out of budget then I'd search facebook marketplace to find a good used one.
Im follow a plant based life style and have lost 20 lbs with lo impact exercise including the rowing machine . I have 15 more to go. There r so many foods I love on a plant based diet. I use no oils or salt but the food is sooo good. I have to b careful can overdo on plants. happy rowing
I've been telling my friends about the two door approach for years, to no avail. Thanks for putting out a concise but more importantly effective approach to weight loss. Will we see you in Prague end of the month?
Alright I could've done without the calling me out at the end 😂 that is such a big issue for me though, just gotta keep reminding myself "that's enough prep, no more videos, go get on the dang machine"
I’m 56 y.o. woman I don’t follow your question. Do you think it is too much ? Personally I think it doable and measured, but I have been going to gym on and off so have so have ultra basic fitness even though overweight and regrouping post menopause body (😢).

@@f.demascio1857 I really appreciate that. Thank you!
Great job! Keep it up!
Hooah! You pump me up. Just bought a beginner rowing machine to help lose weight due to mental health issues . Congrats on your journey and success!

Love your progress so far and you’re totally right about OCCASIONALLY does wonders. It’s the always that causes issues.
Eating Chinese homemade food doesn’t fatten you up but American factory made “food” 😂

Wow, Welcome back Coach.
🙏🏽
fantastic intro plan, great vid dude! moderation, not deprivation is my mantra when advising people about diet!
Great video. I needed to hear some of those new perspectives as well as the training format. Thanks, Coach!
More great direction and encouragement from Shane! Thanks So much.
Always here for you

I'm loving my rowing machine and ❤ my workouts 💪 🙌, Thanks Dark 🐎
I will try this soon. Thanks ! 💪🏾❤️
Thanks for the kick in the ass to get after it!

I'm curious, what drag factor do you typically use for your average workout?
Yaaaaaayyyyyyy. I’ve been searching for this to include you😂💕💕💕💕 1:31

Thanks for sharing. The main battle begins after 20PM facing the fridge. :)
Drink water! 💦❤🎉
After this what should I do in the next week?
hii I have a question, how much time is it 3.000m or 6.000m of rowing approx?
How about mixing rowing with weight lifting

I typically follow your workouts based on how much time I have, do you know how the distance averages?
Distance would be based on your speed and time :-)
I’m contemplating starting day one. Is there a coupon code to join the app?
It's got a 7-day free trial
Good skills, where did you get your hat from?
Do you have some sort of printable for that 7-day plan?
No, but maybe a good idea 🤔
I just took a pic with my phone 👍🏻 great vid very professional and good advice many thanks 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

The tough part is you can only walk through the doors you’re ready to walk through. Hopefully you can send this to them to help it make more sense.

So, I'm a female, 57 years old. Is this what you would have me do, first day, as well? Wondering if this is targeted to a younger demographic....

Your app looks good, but I can't afford $40 a month. A much cheaper option with less features would be nice.
❤❤😊
🙌
The DHR Program is very expensive, and not everyone can afford it.

As a man who is naturally skinny and has spent his life trying to put size on I will have to do the opposite of what is advised here. 😏
This is me, I feel you. You need to 1. LIFT heavy, often. 2. Consume high caloric density more than you would like. 3. Rest more.
