You have obviously never had a dog go blind from ehrlichiosis, a tick borne disease or watched your dog exsanguinate and die from a nosebleed also caused by ehrlichiosis. Despite sprays, dips, collars baths and me picking dozens of ticks off dogs, they got sick. My current 4 dogs are now on preventative medication. Watching my 90# German Shepherd continue to bleed despite transfusions and IV’s until the blood turned pink and she struggled to breathe because she didn’t have enough red blood cells still haunts me. My house looked like a slaughterhouse with pools of blood soaking through the carpet and pad to the subfloor, blood on the hardwood floor, drapes, tile and her bedding. My other dog bled from his retinas so my healthy 3 year old 65# Siberian Husky was permanently blinded. There are risks to any medication, but everyone has to make their own decisions. The day after I brought a Husky home from a shelter, he became sick from bordetella. Luckily my other dogs were vaccinated and one had no symptoms, one had mild symptoms and the 3rd had worse symptoms but still not as bad as the newcomer. I vaccinate my dogs and use preventatives because I can prevent them suffering and dying from known, common and prevalent diseases in our area.

When I worked at a veterinary clinic in Michigan we had a Frontline rep buy us lunch and discuss the use of Frontline and Heartguard. She told us that Frontline was completely nontoxic and said we could drink it. I told her "then do it, drink one" and she did!. She cracked one open out of a box and drank the whole thing. The sales meeting ended shortly after that and I'm betting she ran to the bathroom to vomit out the Frontline.

I put Frontline on my 15 pound poodle and I almost killed her. Any position you would put her in she would stay .She would not move! She became like a stone statue. She didn’t go to the bathroom. She didn’t eat for three days. I had my girlfriend who is a vet come over and she gave her. I think some charcoal med. And she said don’t ever put that FRONTLINE on your dog or any other animal ever again. Unfortunately, my baby Pooka was never the same after that.

@@shorelined1 That’s not true. People are living longer _because_ of modern medicine. Viruses like polio and smallpox are a thing of the past in developed nations. People with cancer, HIV/AIDS, and autoimmune diseases like diabetes have a better fighting chance than they would have had even 50 years ago. You don’t hear of people dying from tuberculosis anymore and people with asthma can live relatively normal lives.
What is true is that things like heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, cirrhosis, and _certain_ types of cancer are on the rise primarily because of poor diet. At least in the US, poor diet and sedentary lifestyles are a major contributing factor to declining health. But it’s not the medicine that’s contributing to this.

My 5 year old Shepsky had a brother that was my son and wife’s dog. They were found and rescued together at 6 weeks old and we each adopted one. My sons dog was on Bravecto from 8 wks old and my vet tried to push Simparica on my puppy, in which I said no. By age 1 and a half my sons dog developed seizures which became so serious that he was put on 20 different meds that did not work to control them and two months later had to be put down after several emergency vet hospital visits. It was only at the end that one of the Emergency vets told my son, that I’m not supposed to tell you this but seizures are a potential side effect of the four brands of flea/ tick meds. He was only 20 months old and the heart break was so tremendous, I still cry to this day I’m so angry. My son trusted his vet’s recommendations and to me that med made no sense from the start. It’s a horrible thing to lose a precious pup, they were identical with very different outcomes😢

He ridiculed me and took her in the back where I could hear her yelling and crying for so long I left the room to go and look for her. When they finally brought her back he told me I caused her seizures by getting her “too excited by telling her my Mom was coming home.” I left confused but lo behold a month later another seizure right after the flea med. I called and told them it happened again and Vet said “oh well first time is a coincidence so we don’t look at that.” (?!?!!) I said “put this on her chart.” I called back next day, confirmed it was on the chart (it wasn’t) reiterated it needed to be and why and told them to send the chart to my new Vet.

@@EMIponds Definitely, so I purchased the powder @ harvest health.. For dosing, it was easier to hide it dry in wet food because it does have an odor & it tastes tart-ish.
I mix/mashed the elm into the food with a fork & added a few drops of water to create more wetness to the food. This way it helps dissolve the elm & get baby extra water. I definitely recommend only making this mix with a large table spoon of wet food so they will eat all of it with the elm. After that you can give more food, etc, (use tuna or tuna juice onto regular wet cat food if they resist the food due to smell, tuna overpowers any smells, lol!)
The Elm dose amount should litterly be 1/18 of a t-spoon. Overdosing can cause constipation. Start with giving baby the elm 2 days in a row once a day & then every other day once a day for 1st week. After that 2 or 3 times a week once a day will be maintenance. I chose Mon, Wed & Friday's or Tuesday/ Thursdays.

I haven’t used any flea/tick/heart worm chemicals on my dogs for 8 years now. Cedar is amazing!!! Both granules and sprayable oil, I use Cedarcide brand. I sometimes mix garlic oil with it for mosquitos. The garlic oil is called Mosquito Barrier. Also, I keep the shrubs and trees pruned and off the ground, keep gutters clean and really pay attention to any standing water on the property. I use Mosquito Bits and Bunks to prevent mosquito larvae (BT is the ingredient). I haven’t seen any fleas or ticks, and rarely a mosquito. I do fed my dogs raw garlic, turmeric, black pepper, grass fed beef and bone broth, quality fish oils, etc… on a rotating basis. I can’t believe how easy it is to keep the yard and pups pest free.

I just adopted a dog from the local shelter who was heartworm positive. I immediately started giving her one black walnut capsule a day. It has been a couple of months now and everything about her has improved. Don't take my word for it. You will find with just a little research that black walnut is a game changer and does not hurt your dog in any way. Dogs can't tell you if something is hurting them and they hide weakness as long as they can. I use it as a preventive during the high risk season.

Two months after applying the Seresto collar to my beagle, he became completely paralyzed. After $7,000+ and months of holistic veterinary treatments, he was completely restored to full mobility. Not knowing it was the cause, we applied another Seresto collar and within less than a month he was paralyzed in his hind legs. Despite our best efforts, we were not able to restore mobility the second time around and we just recently had him put to sleep at only 8 years old because he just didn’t have any quality of life. He couldn’t scratch, dig, run, or chase. He couldn’t even go on a walk. He loathed his wheelchair and just whined and whined. I hated having to say goodbye, but it wasn’t fair to him to suffer for the rest of his days.
There was a class action lawsuit against the manufacturer years ago because so many dogs were dying and even humans were being injured by it. Sadly, we missed our chance to be a part of it because it was settled before this happened to our dog.

I have never felt good about the guilt tactics some veterinarians use to get us to comply with advice, nor when they act offended by our questions. When I feel that vibe from a doctor or veterinarian now, I look for a different one. I’ve had some very painful experiences due to misinformation, and we all deserve to be including in our pets’ care. I’m so sorry to see that others have had similar experiences. Even if we make a decision ourselves, based on reading research, we don’t deserve the pain of guilt. There is so much biased research, due to corporate control of information, it’s hard to avoid misinformation, disinformation, and manipulation. It’s, initially, inconceivable that anyone would lead us wrong when it come to the welfare of our beloved pets. The truth is out there. Knowledge is power. When we know better, we absolutely do better! Thank you so much for helping people avoid going through what too many have, and helping us all to see that we ARE good and capable pet parents! When I didn’t know about Chronic Renal Failure, my cat suffered and died too soon. After that, I learned all about it, and that it was extremely common. It was so healing to be able to keep my 15 year old cat happy and thriving for 4 1/2 more years after diagnosis. It healed a lot of the shame of not knowing before. One of my cats was rushed to ER as a kitten after I administered a flea spot, and suffered from chronic neuropathic pain thereafter. They have been free of fleas and heartworm for years without the use of chemical treatments, since. It’s ridiculous that people are being told to use them on indoor pets, especially in our Midwest winters. There is a huge difference between being paranoid and questioning advice that doesn’t ring true and seeking information. It can be the difference between life and death for pets. Our peace of mind is so important!

This was so informative. But so depressing as well…I had 3 labs over the years, we lived in a wooded marshy area and the spent lots of time outdoors just loving life and hunting. We treated them with all the
recommended flea/tick and worming meds. We have seen cancer, seizures and kidney failure that took them from us. I now feel these unexplained ailments could be from all those toxins. It’s heart breaking to think we unknowingly made them sick. As I move forward and think of getting another puppy, it will be all natural from now on. I shared this video with all my pet owner family and friends. Thank you so much for the information.

I know this was put up 8 months ago. She contradicted herself when she said ticks and fleas have already bitten your pet when the flea and tick meds kill them, then she said it was unlikely that a tick would be on your pet long enough to give it Lyme disease.
As someone who has chronic Lyme and at the time got anaplasma and bartonella and reactivated EBV, was treated for six years and tens of thousands of dollars later….I would like to testify that a tick only has to spit into you to numb the area it is attaching to for you to get all these disgusting, life changing and financially destroying diseases.

I had an 11 year old jack Russell terrier mix. We had given him nexguard in the summer because fleas and ticks are EXTREMELY bad around our property. I know he was old…. but before he died he had some neurological issues and might have received around 10 nexguard doses in his life. It really makes me wonder. I was fixing supper and let him outside to go potty. About 10 min later I called him and he stood still. I went out to check on him and he was seizing. We had an emergency euthanasia and it was one of the saddest days of my life. About a month before he developed extreme neurological issues. He would randomly bite us. One day I left for school and he stayed on his bed all day long. Never moved. I was around 15 at the time he passed away, so I was too young to know anything about it. I recently got a Belgian malinois X. She has had one dose of simparica trio and will not be receiving any more. Thank you for what you do! I am a firm believer that these monthly pesticides are linked to neurological issues

Hi Rachel, I don't often comment unless I am truly inspired.
Your videos recently appeared on my feed and glad they have. As I very much appreciate you and Dr. Judy for your time and caring to educate others on traditional vet "treatments"vs holistic "care". And for raising awareness on the affects of the inconspicuous use of toxic chemicals on our pets aka conventional F and T products.
I have been following a holistic path with my last dogs for a long time and will never look back. I vaccinate for rabies only with many years in between. And prefer my dogs to eat a species appropriate diet aka meet/raw diet contributed to them being more healthy as you two well know.
I don't give tap water to my dog's either.
I have not used conventional flea and tick products for decades and refrain from applying anything on my dogs skin that he wouldn't be able to consume. I do not have fear of my dog getting lymes Even if he was to get a bite from a tick carrying lymes, because he has a decent immune system and a nutrient sound diet. Fortunately I am well versed in the use of homeopathic remedies that can help heal all conditions and encourage others to learn about these approaches. One can purchase animal remedy kiys on line as well. It takes time to build confidence in when and what to use along the natural route for our dogs. I am fortunate to live in an area where their are genuine holistic vets if ever I need to go to one.
