I already knew i have depression and use to smoke Marijuana to keep the depression at bay, what i didn't know was symptom number 6. Psychomotor in my case it's agitation when family members or anyone would ask me a question or bother me with a task i always thought i was just an asshole but now it all makes sense! i quit smoking Marijuana to work on myself as to not need it to keep myself happy it's been about 3 months now around the same time the virus outbreak started and while it was and is tough it is doable! Thank you for this video and i hope there is many more to come, stay inside and stay safe!

I am so happy and proud of you. I see it's been a year since you left this comment so I don't know what your experience is like nowadays. But I truly hope that you have managed to stay away from marijuana, and even if you haven't, that you are still taking one step at a time to work on feeling enough as you are. Always at your own pace. Also, I hope you understand you are not an asshole, now that you've considered the symptom of psychomotor agitation, and that you do not feel guilty for having it. It is not something you are responsible for, not something you asked for, so honestly there is zero blame to be put on you. It's not your fault. What matters most is that you have potential and strength (if you think you don't, just remember that you quit marijuana when it was far from easy, that's a big achievement) and it would be great if you can realise it and manage to focus more on that.
If you don't mind making an update on your experience, I'd really like to know how you have been doing lately. Wish you well friend♥️

I have experienced most of those on his list. The only reason I am here is for my cats and mini horse. They need me. I fear what might happen to them if I out myself. However I do have a bright spot in life. A little Saturn Aura top of the line that we are trying to get the title for. I know many are scratching your head and thinking I am crazy. I name my cars this little Saturn I love I named Arlo. I wish I had never been born though. But I hang on no matter how crappy I feel. To anyone else out there who may read this, you are not alone. Look deep in your life and think about the people and or pets that love and need you. No matter how sad and worthless you may feel. Hang in there❤ You can do it. Don't give up.

Are you the kind of doctor that gets out your prescription pad?? I was dealing with childhood abuse most of my adult life and I decided to seek counseling, but the doctor told me that, if I was not willing to take drugs, that she could not treat me. I told her that I was not interested in masking the issues but preferred to find out why I feel the way I was and actually I still do.

    • @AndrewKimMD

Psychiatric medication are over utilized in the American healthcare system. Part of it is due to the way our system is set up and part of it is due to societal expectations of wanting a “quicker” fix. For many issues: anxiety, depression, ptsd etc specific psychotherapies are first line. But there is a time and place for meds; higher risk suicidal risk scenarios where time is of the essence, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia etc. there has to be a rationale balance of when to use and when not to use them.

Ja nuary --How are you now? To feel better reduce negative thoughts and overthinking. Avoid comparing with others, reduce negative social media and avoid constipation as it affects the mind instantly. Your breathing is closely related to the brain [mind] and gives relief from stress-anxiety. To relax sit on a chair or lie down, neck straight, eyes closed and observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for 5-10-15 minutes or more. Never meditate with expectations but with awareness. Don’t fight your thoughts. With daily practice the mind will relax. No deep breathing needed. Observe your breath sensations before sleep, in college, at work, taking a walk, when reading, etc.etc. Like me, make this a lifetime daily habit to have a better life. Best wishes--Counsellor.

@@januarybaby Develop your mental muscles. Don't allow others to decide your happiness. Be assertive when needed but this needs practice. Never say "Yes" when want to say "No". Since many years I have made it a habit to observe my breath sensations even during my normal activities and I am feeling relaxed and healthy. Anywhere-anytime it can be done. The best part is nobody comes to know that you are doing the breath observing practice as there is no deep breathing or sound. Reduce watching negative social media and avoid constipation as it affects the mind. Read my msg and do the practice regularly. Best wishes. Sr. Counsellor.

I don't know what's fucking wrong with me ? Whenever my parents ask me about my studies I get scared. I don't wanna go to school . I don't know what's my problem. I don't have any problem with studying something new. I wanna learn new languages, yoga and activities but when it comes to school I can't even touch my school bag without my heart beating really fast. I'm in 11th I never knew which major i wanted to choose. My parents said that I should become a doctor since childhood but I never had any interest in becoming one. I'm an introvert I don't talk much I feel like nobody cares my parents talk only sometimes to me only about my studies or asking me to do something not about how I feel or am I fine. I never had fixed goal or job in my mind. So I don't know what I want. I chose what they asked me to choose. I don't attend my online classes . When I think about attending it feels like the teacher will scold me for not attending before and everyone will make fun of me. In a whole day I talk only when I need to, I don't feel comfortable around my own family.

    Hi
    My point of view.
People become depressed once they have to face reality and it is to hard for them to deal with it because we are living in a world that offers instant satisfaction so we are perment dopamine high. So once our bad decisions catches up with us we are depressed because of our indulgence into the consumers world of sin. This constant habits burn into our brain and this is Y you need to get your fix of medicine.
That is why fasting was introduced by God to break the bad habit and to make your self reciliant to al these vices.........
    Prevention is better than cure.
Our habits lead the way to our generations depression..
