#Tesla #TSLA #EVs
Im disappointed that they took these to market without stellar acceleration, 1 pedal driving, fast charging, and camping mode.. Lack of all 3 is doa in my opinion.. Those features are the must haves for most lookers..
gm has one pedo Driving........lol.
Why do you think they don’t have one pedal? Acceleration is decent. Some of the vehicles have fast charging. There a hack for camp mode. I’m sure GM will come out with a pet mode or camp mode at some point if they feel customers are asking for it.
That was impressive . . . coverage. Thanks, Brian.
1:24 "ideal for camping" -- assuming the Silverado or whatever it is has something equivalent to Tesla's "Camp Mode".
gm has Exhaust fume mode , pumps directly into the cab &bed.
@@markplott4820 well, not in the Sierra EV. The out-of-spec folk like the Sierra because its double-sized battery gives it great range. Of course, one pays the price of having to pay for more batteries in a marginally efficient vehicle (I presume) and so if you are having to charge up at BP or most places other than Tesla superchargers, you'll be paying quite a bit. Assuming 70 cents per kwh, that's $140 for a full 0-100% charge, compared to charging a cybertruck at a Tesla supercharger at 0.40/kwh for about $40 USD (if my memory serves the standard battery pack on the cybertruck is about 100 kwh... feel free to correct me, anyone.) of course the range of the cybertruck isnt as good as the Sierra, somewhere around $300 miles and the Sierra's around $500.... Best to go check out the out-of-spec videos for full range tests.
Would have been funny to hear how much they lose on selling each model.
They keep those figures buried.
Nice to see Brian at Cyberfest in Ocala FL last Saturday. This man TRAVELS!
Not supposed to go on a date and pay attention to other people ignoring the one you brung - BUT - I wanna a plain Tesla. Steel wheels, cloth interior, single motor, smaller battery pack, 2 speaker sound, white paint ONLY, FSD subscription only, Model 3 for 20 % less money - a $30k car. They could do that tomorrow and it would ADD sales without taking away from a "real" Model 3. Chevys are OK, but too little, too late for too much $$$. Thanks Brian.
Isn't there also another model called the Optiq? I've seen the Lyriq in the wild and it looks cool... Hard to imagine GM really trying to get good EVs out there when it impacts their ICE sales and maintenance profits.
optiq is $300,000.......lol
@@markplott4820 Ah no, you are thinking of the Celestiq, the Optiq is the smaller cousin of the Lyriq and is priced between $54K - $57K USD. IMHO they are not bad looking cars and do have some nice interiors.. Unlike the Lyriq, the Optiq does not offer Android Auto or Car Play as far as I know.
celestiq is $350k,
optiq is $55k, a compact crossover for 2025
Oh yes the Cadillac Celestic --A car that even Bob Lutzs told the boys at Autoline he won't take on a road trip.😮
Want to see the caddy Optiq.
Mary and GM have given new meaning to, ""leading from behind."
Mary LIED , and it matters.
I hope Chevy gets it's act together. I've been a Chevy guy forever.
Shitty Silverado........lol
We agree @Futureaza Brian, best new name for GM Cruise Control, “Super Duper Cruise” - opportunity missed!
First car company to come up with a giant, water bottle size, cup holder? Fisker Alaska! Oh how I wish they hadn’t blown it so epically
Mapped ADAS and "autonomy" is wonderful.
gm Super cruise , tried to kill SANDY Munro twice.
The Silverado pretty much shows GM got their battery game in order. 200 kWh selling well equipped for 96k! Compare that to any of the competition and that competition should be worried with Rivian in the worst position
We looked at Lyriq and Blazer and both suffered from too much hard plastic too easy to reach. However I was told in no uncertain terms the Lyriq was out and we are replacing a XT4! Butt ugly - literally the rear did not get a pass nor the piano black interior.
I hope they're turning a profit on them.
So maybe I missed it but do any of these have the NACS Plug? They were supposed to be in 2025 but the GM 2025 model year is starting now, right?
No, but you can get an adapter
@@ziploc2000No. You can BUY an adapter.
It kind of feels that GM is dragging its feet on NACS. No plug and play and they are charging $250 or so for the adapter. I am not convinced that everyone in power at GM wants to be in the BEV sector.
@@danharold3087 In fairness it was only agreed that they could use NACS recently, so even the 2025 models wouldn't have it built in.
My frustration is that Chevy has pulled the plug (pun intended) on the Spark and the Bolt, both small around town EVs that were perfect for a second family car to do the shopping, school run etc. but not intended for long road trips.
Nissan have similarly killed the Leaf in favor of the more bloated and expensive Ariya, and Ford have killed their small gas car options in the USA, and never did an electric Focus, Fiesta or Ka.
Toyota also do not offer a small pure EV in their range, and apparently never have.
The excuse is that these small cars don't sell as well, but I see loads of small hatchbacks around so I'm not convinced that is true, but it sure will be true very soon if they aren't making them anymore.
@@ziploc2000
I was talking about the lack of a plug-and-charge feature and how owners are being charged around $250 for the adapter. Ford and Rivian are not doing this.
Small cars, regardless of powertrain type, are less profitable. As automakers become less efficient, they lose the ability to produce small cars at a profit. The Leaf and Bolt were never profitable.
GM is kind of leading..: in stupidity
No it completely leads in that department!
The Bolt will be back when Tesla gets done building GM a factory to produce them with the new ‘unboxed production method’. It will be based on Teslas $25k platform.
Well, a mainstream media video today informed me that GM is failing to sell their EVs in numbers high enough to have an EV factory utilization higher than 24% because “demand for EVs is not growing as fast as predicted.” Since that is a mainstream media source and you are just a guy with a UA-cam channel, of course I believe them completely. Lol.
Totally makes sense.
I think you missed the B from GM is leeding
Ah darn, you're right!
The Corvette has a hybrid version called the Eray
why wouldn't they have displayed that one?
If you are as doomed as GM (all legacy?) are, lying your face off can’t possibly make anything any worse.
I mean, that is a fair point.
Find it funny how the legacy companies design cars like they are still ice vehicles and not EVs. You can design them looking different.
better government bail out again thats how you lead
has the silvaraido got no frunk on alcohol….
