This was probably the best wrestling game ever made. That or no mercy. The simplicity of the gameplay, the smoothness of it, the ease of use.....great game!
Here comes the pain!!! No mercys controls were too difficult to really win without having to have too much strategy. They would throw u in those handicap matches, and I don't even wanna bring up the reversals the CPU had smh great games and story, but that shit messed it up
@@johnnihil1689 Only the initial batch had that - when you returned the game, you got a new copy, the turnaround was almost instant as they found out as soon as they shipped the carts to retail, they run off the new ones instantly. All of us who bought No Mercy on release did that. No Mercy is the better game in every single way, apart from only having half the wrestler intros - but really they had to fit a far bigger game into the small cartridge and I love Wrestlemania 2000 - in NM have graphics, gameplay, story, customisation, backstage and so much more.

I have both and have played both over the last few days on real hardware - there is no comparison - No Mercy is Wrestlemania 2000 with so much more packed in - the detail in the stadiums and even wrestlers is ramped through the roof, more game modes, lighting, animated crowds, match types, story, backstage, customisation, the control feels the same with extra moves - I really don't see how Wrestlemania is better, other than full intros as No Mercy is the same game with tonnes more content.
I had this on n64, my other friend had no mercy, and my other friend had smackdown on ps1. we'd always rotate between these three games as kids. good times.

It was fantastic. Even 4 players on the tag team match was fun where you could sneak in real quick and get a cheap shot on the other team while you were tagged out. I liked the submission guys too like Mankind with the mandible or Ric Flair and the figure 4 leg lock. Just thinking about it makes me want to go on ebay and buy a used Nintendo 64

I grew up with this game and no mercy, then the smackdown series for ps1, I agree it was a lot of fun, but I would have loved to play a game like wwe 2k18 when a was a kid.
I loved how the game developers managed to sample the real theme songs for the wrestlers and give them their titantrons, even though they were looped after only a few minutes and the "videos" were just slideshow collages but hey at least they tried.
They did that on WWF Attitude, including the n64, which sounded good, wrestlemania was not as good, but unlike attitude, at least THQ actually gave in the time to put titantrons. Attitude just had a titantron that played nothing.

Almost a year .. November 1999 - September 2000 ... Those months were long cause now we were watching Raw is War AND Smackdown. During most of Austin's run in 1997-1999 there was only Raw. So in the time he was gone so much shit happened.

Back when this game came out wrestlemania 2000 was probably a 99 or 2000 I rented this game all the time at a place called video safari. In fact a lot of guys that I went to elementary school with would create their own character and you could tell who it is you could just tell when you play the game so when you rented it when you rented the game you could tell who created your character cuz you knew most of those guys it was a small town and all the guys played this game. Then when you would turn it in and run it again you would see other characters that were created which was cool. Another great game is WWF no mercy I play that game so many times that game has a special place in my heart forever I played that game I was addicted to that game I played that game so many times sitting on my bedroom playing it when my TV it was amazing

It seems people are becoming more interested in the Dreamcast again judging by the new hardware and games that are being released for the console as of last year and this year. What I would love to see for this console is a proper wrestling game that would be a similar to that of the AKI wrestling games released on the N64. Those games had an excellent move set and the game was very innovative, I could understand if the wrestlers or names could not be implemented into this new title do to legal issues, but just make a game that would have Dreamcast quality graphics and AKI game play/controls.

There must be a problem with your emulator, I play this on actual hardware and the textures are way better on the 64.
