I know, and those were the days, back when they were annual title contenders unlike now! Bummer that guy from Chicago who is M.J. almost always got in their way when it came to that. Them barely making the playoffs as a bottom seeded team, while getting totally thrashed in the first round by a much superior opponent is considered to be a "successful season" to them now, what with how far down they've sure fallen from the early 2000's, onward! (L.O.L.!)
I remember in the 97 98 finals when the jazz and the Bulls had their championship games, before and afterward my brother and I would always get on this game and reenact it. So much fun.
I remember playing this with my friends when I was 14. We were so amazed at the actual video footage showed during the half time break (at 5:38). We were like: "It's like a CD rom!"
This is better than the Genesis version in almost every way except for the main narrator. No "welcome to NBA Jam!" And the voice announcing is clearly different than the arcade and Genesis versions.
I remember as a pre-adolescent teen, I wanted this game so badly, that I stole money from a visiting relative to be able to buy it. I still hang my head in shame...
Bottom line homie, you pick that chin up and hold your head up high from this day forward. Seeing your dreams "this game" in front of you at a early age and doing whatever necessary to obtain it, is what's were missing in the country today. My prayer is there will be more like you. Salute 💯👊🏼
This is what I call old but gold no one cared a thing about graphics great times now days they worrie about graphics back then it was the gameplay for me and still is.
I think I like the Genesis version better. I thought the Snes would have been better outside of graphics and clearer sound but the Snes repeats commentary too much and it's too low. It's kind of annoying. There's also no in game music.
I just ordered this game on Sidequest Games, I have NBA Jam T.E as well on SNES, but am curious to see if there is any if at all a difference with this one. NBA Jam is such a fun game to play as an adult while drinking and getting stoned, esp when listening to music 😎
I was the kid that actually played sports and hated playing them on video games. So I had a friend that only played video games and never played sports who had this game. We would play it and I would be so bored I only ever got entertainment from shooting it from half court, ALL THE TIME just to hear "From down town!" and never really engaged in the real game or played a decent match against my friend cause, in the back of my mind I just wanted to play MK3 or SF2.
Good evening folks, and what a win for the Knicks. Despite a dreadful performance by Ewing from distance, New York held on thanks to outstanding defense. We'll see ya tomorrow for a matchup with Pippen and Grant's Chicago Bulls. Good night!
No music during the game play. I could never understand that because the music that is in the game sounds beautiful so it is a real shame that there is no music while playing. That is why the Genesis version was better overall but the Snes version could have been better if they had put music in the game.
This game would have been almost perfect if it had music on the court .. worthy to be in the collection and very fun to play. Overall good port.. good music where it's played better than the Genesis in that respect and better graphics as well.
This sounds leagues better than the Genesis version. I think Super Punch-Out!!!, NBA Jam, and sports games in general are what make the SNES's sound hardware really shine.
Vote. Would you rather have shoe squeaks or music? Snes traded music for shoe squeaks when the boardroom realized they couldn't have both. While Genesis has music but is missing the shoe squeaks. Place you're vote here. 1 for squeaks 2 for music. :)
I miss the 90's ☹ ....legendary Nba Jam
Used to play this back in 90's , still my fav NBA game ever!
2010-2011
Me too I played NBA jam on Sega Genesis in the 90s
Really? My brother, some friends and me played it not much years ago, 4 o maybe 5, the first time I played this awesome game.
Same here
Me too
Watching this makes me feel like a kid again :)
@Deathstroke The Terminator come on bro dudes probably dead by now

Lmaooooo
Seriously lol
😂🤣
Reminds me so much of the 90's. An excellent game for its time. Complete nostalgia envelopes me as I watch this game play.
9:26. The best part of the game!
I love it
No questions asked!
I can't remember was there a way to do it on purpose or was it random?
@@moeyr6either the player needed to have a high dunk rating or you had to do a certain amount of dunks during the game
I played this game all the time when I was little. I must have rented this at least 100 times lol. Good times.
lol i never got to experience any of this, i never knew what a sega genisis, SNES, NES, or Playstation 1 looked like till yesterday
or dreamcast
+Zachary it was amazing lol I remember playing this game too so ahead of its time
Hell yeah buddy and now they got the snes classic edition and you can hack it and put this bad boy in the console
nostalgic classic
Man I still remember this game like it was yesterday!!
*"He's on FIRE!!!!"*
*"BOOMSHAKALAKA!!!!"*
*"He's Heating Up!!"*
*"RAZZLE DAZZLE!!!"*
*"FROM DOWNTOWN!!!"*
*"YES!!!!"*
*"REJECTED!!!!!"*
What does he say at 2:44? 'jammed it in'?
At 8:21 'at the buzzer'?
@@rockspring11:
2:44 "Jams it in!"
8:21 "At the Buzzer!"
@@Alysa-Aiday thanks!
Aaron most of these are absent from this version. He just says “yes” and “heating up” over and over. No music either lol.
The NBC era especially those dick enberg marv Albert quotes. The good ol days
I was seriously addicted to this game when I was 12/13
Who wasn't?
Back in they days....so innocent playing this game
This game is fricking awesome.... It's so fast paced but yet so strategic at the same time...
Such a great game.
Played it alot with my brother and friends
My God man the memories. My brother and I would play for hours upon hours! Early in the morning, late at night, I would play while he was gone!
Jesus the nostalgia is off the charts
The most recent one is sick, it stays true to this formula, just more modern and with more features. Nothing touches the original though.
Love those SNES synths
man when it come to basketball games back in the '90s NBA jam hands down was and will always be the best basketball game ever
9:27
The glass breaks on top 🔝 of the rim!
That electric piano music brings so much childhood memories 😊😊😊
OMG I had this game on SNES. I was 9yrs old, this game had me hype.
Damn this game is legendary watching Olympic basketball and the memory of this popped into my head,
“FROM DOWNTOWN !”
“HES ON 🔥 “
1998 me and my brother playing this til we got tired , how awesome were the 90’s good times
OMG the memories:P
One of my favorites sports games ever!!!
We used to have tourneys of the dads, uncles, and kids once or twice a year. Some good times.
I love how a quarter is three minutes. one of my favorite games on snes
That soundtrack brings back memories man.
i love swishing the corner 3 in this game

At 9:27 " It was at this moment that he knew, HE F**KED UP. (backboard glass breaks) while the player in the white jersey trys to block.
Man I was 5 years old when this game came out. Me and my twin use to play this game a lot
Oh man the opening theme brings me back
I miss the 90's so much. I wish today was still like that.
I watched the whole video hoping for that one “BOING!” sound effect that sometimes happens when a dunk goes wrong.
CLASSIC
dang i remember always going into my room in the middle of space jam to play this while i left my sisters and my cousin in the living room haha
I didn’t think I ever played this game before but the player screen brought me back.
The Charlotte hornets were my team I used to beat my older brother...a lot of thrown remotes and tempers flared. The snes owner had to hide the game.
Masterpiece of a game!
I miss the shoving
This is better than the Genesis version in almost every way except for the main narrator. No "welcome to NBA Jam!" And the voice announcing is clearly different than the arcade and Genesis versions.
NBA JAM WAS MY FAVORITE GAME BACK IN THE DAY ME MY COUSIN PLAYED THIS GAME ALL THE TIME I USED TO BEAT HIM I WISH THEY REMAKE THIS GAME

Make amends with the relative or their next of kin and feel better.
Easily one of my ultimate back pocket SNES rentals in that era
1:30 - Hey! You can't just abuse a child like that!
I remember playing this. It was the most expensive game I ever bought.
This was a really fun game
This soundtrack bring so many memories
I always played with Portland
This is what I call old but gold no one cared a thing about graphics great times now days they worrie about graphics back then it was the gameplay for me and still is.
The 5 on 5 format in games these days is so complicated. I much prefer the simpler 2 on 2 format of this game.
I miss miss miss this game and my Super Nintendo so bad.
This NBA game should be in the SNES app on Nintendo Switch Online.
I think I like the Genesis version better. I thought the Snes would have been better outside of graphics and clearer sound but the Snes repeats commentary too much and it's too low. It's kind of annoying. There's also no in game music.
I should try the Genesis one, I never had before, but the Mame32 is SICK! Arcarde version
dean leland Yeah the arcade would be the one to go with!
Things are heating up❤
Yo amaba el basketobot y juegue este juego por allá a principios de 2000 infancia pura
wow this brought back memories
When NBA SNES was better than NBA 3DS

Kids nowadays don’t even know how this game was even played in arcades or in front of a TV in your living room or bedrooms
Who's watching this in 2020 and remember playing it back in day?
Oh my god hes on fire
Que padres recuerdos cuando jugaba en mi super nintendo con mis primos
The number of times I've cursed at the TV at 3:50.
They should have this game for Nintendo switch ❤
the music aaaaahhhhhh memories
The best nba game ever
holy shit that horece grant cut is sooo iconic
Man I was pissed when this version didn’t have Barkley Shaq or Oak Dawg
TEXAS FOUNDATION OF HOPE vs SAN ANTONIO FIRE(sports JAM)

Wild shot!
i need the sound of the basketball hitting the rim on my cell phone for text message alerts.

Man please SNES is not better than Genesis in sports this game is boring Genesis had the in game music.
@@stanleyford2575 I was primarily talking about the SOUND DESIGN, not the gameplay.
Classic game, I miss my childhood. 😂😂
I remember ole buddy saying “wild shot” on even a normal 3. I was like bruh.
The arcade version; the announcer is clearly based on Marv Albert, the home version sounds more like it's based on Dick Vitale .
I wanna jump on Amazon and buy it right now
Like the Marv Albert voice clip.
Watching 10/2015!
YES!
Best nba game of all time
1:52 Look at those two players on the White Golden State team shaking their asses.

I ain't talking down because the shoes sound pretty cool actually.
I just realized not even Sega Saturn has shoe squeaks.
LightBlue2222 maybe because the shoe squeaks sound terrible. Music duh.
Not sure why that 'yes' didn't get on my nerves more when I played this....
Because back then you thought it was so cool for the console to have commentary or sound.
We pulled out that five controller adapter just to play with family and friends
After all these years...
Still better than 2k
Play this shit on your junk laptops. Still fun
Nice game
