    Most of these people don't have safe people to connect to.

    But when most of society is aberrant “healthy connections” are not available for many including in the psychiatric treatment world. Thanks

    My safe place is the Word of God and his promises and prayers. My connection is God . I believe he made me whole. I gave up alchohol ( that only gave me booze false friends) changed most of my friends over time to more healthy friends . I came from a dreadful rejection background. Dont give up on God, he is the healer. He is the ultimate connection. I opened my heart and kept asking him "Why has this happened to me ?" He showed me , i kept reading the Proverbs initially then John, bit by bit , line upon line, I was transformed. God loves with a perfect love , people let us down.

    I don’t do any drugs except some aspirin. Never smoked. Drinking was never an issue but I quit 3-4 years ago anyway.
    I had been surrounded by narcissists though until I lost everything 3-4 years ago. I found out my family hated me. My girlfriend was steeling as much as she could, and ruined all of my businesses.

    This kind of reminds me of some children with Autism who have an extreme attachment to a safe or familiar toy while having difficulty connecting to people. I know each child is different but the similarity came to mind.

    • @sunnybein1
      @sunnybein1 3 місяці тому +1

      Sorry but this is ableist and untrue.Autistic children 'connect' just fine with other Autistics and parents and with Neurotypicals WHEN Neurotypicals consider Autistic needs and communication differences.

      @@sunnybein1 - I am anything but ableist as I work with AutIstIc children all day long. I specifically said “some children with Autism” because I knew I would encounter some keyboard warrior like you as everyone wants to be offended by everything. Some parents of Autistic children feel they can’t completely connect with their Autistic child but that’s doesn’t mean they can’t show affection. One can’t explain all their characteristics in a few sentences so don’t be so touchy and defensive

    It's as if we have to rely on others to heal...connection can only be done with others. So therein lies the cycle of "not having"

      When you are unhealthy people don’t want to connect to you, when you get help for your trauma and start to heal, people will want to connect with you because you are safe. Do the work and they will come.

      Connection with the self is the connection we seek.
      Rest is an extension of that love.
      This isn't meant to be an excuse. But an earnest appraisal of the self.

      Also, a connection with a power greater than yourself, whether it's a fellowship or spiritual, is "something." The fellowship of like-minded people who are going through the same thing is a great start for connection. The disease tells us no one will like or accept us. That's a lie.

    The chemicals used in food and water. In a corperate landscape such as the USA and some other countries, business cuts corners and cost by adding unhealthy chemicals to the food and water. Frozen foods & Flouridation of water is no secret. Over the years people began having problems because of what they consume.

    From actually being in an environment surrounded by actual "addicts," they teach addicts that they simply have a gene that makes them that way. The crazy thing is that they all usually act the same. Like a "victim," always complaining about nonsense, blaming others for why they have it so bad and why they must use, effectively blaming others for their reason to use.
    Yes, it's possible to be physically addicted, but before that point, no one is addicted; everyone just suffers from a lack of discipline and accountability. Claiming to be an addict throws accountability out the window by blaming everything else except the individual using. Find out what they are running from and have them face their fears, which usually comes down to a lack of accountability because, as kids, we are usually punished for doing bad things, which makes people fear accountability. So if they simply said, "Yes, I lack discipline and accountability, so I will just be more disciplined and accept accountability," the desire to use will diminish. You are not an addict until you become physically addicted; until that point, you just have bad habits, and like any habit, you can stop. However, the more you do the same thing, the more you enforce it, meaning the harder it is. It's mental, so grow a pair, become disciplined and accountable, and you will recover. You know what to do; the real question is why are you simply not doing what you're supposed to do? Why do you lack initiative? Let's hear how many people get mad and remember your belief system will determine what information you learn and what information you choose to ignore because it's hard to realize that our beliefs are our opinions about life and no one wants to belief they're entire belief system can be wrong so when challenged people get hostile. Yet the only way to actually learn anything is to set aside your own beliefs and viewing from others' perspectives.
