An extra point; Unforgivable Curses break all color shields. If you have the trait that spreads curses when you attack, Crucio can be almost as powerful as the perfect protego talent
@@mikeweeks2078 Crucio Mastery I believe it's called, its tier 2 in Dark Arts.. I'm pretty sure Blood Mastery in tier 1 also works, havent tested that tho Meant talent, not trait, mb
something OP I discovered is that you can use the transformation spell as avada kedavra. If you have “blood curse” talent and upgraded transformation you can insta kill multiple enemies. If you curse a bunch of enemies and then transform one of them the other cursed targets instantly die even bosses will die but you can’t use the spell on a boss or big enemy you have to use it on a mob enemy but if a big enemy or boss is cursed they will die and then you can still throw the explosive barrel at the non cursed targets which makes it in a way stronger than avada kadavra
Some advice on perks: you don’t need to get the lower tier ones to get the upper tier ones. You just need to meet the level cap and have whatever spell it affects. This way you can save your points for ones you want later on
@@NaxxVids Luckily there is a mod to respec on PC. At level 20 I accidentally used some chomping cabbages and saw the total chaos they caused. Instantly started my grow operation in the RoR and started to spec towards plant usage. Garlick would be proud!

Not sure if you're aware of this bit when fighting Trolls, but if you avoid that 3 hit attack chain, that third two handed overhead smash opens the troll up to a Flipendo cast. Doing so will cause the troll's club to flip up and hit it in the head, stunning them and opening them up to a quick chain of attacks.
I may be the only one who likes that not all skills are in lockable and wishes there were more various skill trees. In lore, we see witches and wizards who are very capable in transfig but not charms, charms but not dark curses, etc. More variability in build would increase replayability ability a ton
I agree but to be fair your playing as a 13-15year old, itd be abit of a stretch to have you going that far maybe? In saying that your using curses so maybe just the devs cucking us 😂😂
Tip: Once you unlock the Hidden Herbology Corridor sidequest and finish it, or have Alohomora, you can simply gather infinite Venomous Tentaculas by waiting three days. The Herbology greenhouse's back room will provide an unending sea of nightmarish tentacle plants for your murdering pleasure. You're welcome.
@@resengan123 Yeah, but early on, the herbology corridor basically prints free Tentaculas, so you don't even need the large pot and can double down on Fluxweed early.
A tip when fighting troll, after their final swing where they used both hands the one that is lockable, instead of blocking it you can dodge and use flippendo and you will make them hit themselves in the face and get stun modifier dmg as follow up
Talent points aren't really that big of a deal. By the time I was about level 32, I had solidified my play style and had every talent point that was worth getting.
For everyone commenting on flippendo with the troll, you should read every page of the enemy section in Collections. The game gives you those sorts of hints for each of them. E.g. cutting off Dugbog tongues, ripping spiders apart with Levioso, making Poacher Executioners hit themselves with their elemental tornadoes, etc.
Really hope someone makes a reposition, subdevide, resize -HUD mod soon. The game is so immersive in its exploration. HUD often gets in the way, or is too far away to be helpful.
@@rthj6446 2 weeks old but there are settings to turn off a lot of the hud features already in the game. Just go into settings and I think its the bottom option but look around as I have seen many people comment about this not knowing it can be turned off
One thing about pulling enemies into the aoe spell that the enemy is casting: if you cast expeliarmus on them while they are casting, the spell backfires on them, taking a huge chunk of their health pool
Atleast on PC you don't. Been doing it since I got the game, which happens to be this monday just gone by xD I've already put in 60 hours.@@Th3Half-BloodPrince
I know you guys want to make these videos and they are maybe helpful, but I'd also want to tell people not to worry too much. Even on the hardest difficulty the game is relatively easy and you will likely feel like you already got every talent you actually wanted after spending maybe 10-15 points, after that it's not really adding too much. The combat is relatively easy even without ancient magic or any of the curses, so you don't really need to grind for the traits or worry too much about your gear. To be honest one can simply play the game and enjoy it, it's not really punishing you. You even get way more gold then you could ever spend.
I’m having a hard time with the game. I am in level 13. Don’t have enough money to make the potions they are asking me to do, and I don’t have the spells they said that I need to go to the tower with Fig. So, as right now I can not complete the missions….
@@ms.gabrieladelcarmenprecia6425have you tried finding the one eyed chests? They give you 500 galeons each. You need to use invisibility charm to approach them. And also go and do the side missions, you'll get many clothes to sell and make money out of them.
@@ms.gabrieladelcarmenprecia6425 1. Best course of action is to do any Professor's assignments done as soon as you get them cuz they are the missions you use to learn spells. 2. You also don't HAVE to buy any ingredients, everything is available to be collected by searching around outside the castle grounds. 3. As soon as you can get the broom, do it. It cuts down travel time exponentially and honestly can sometimes even be faster than floo travel since the loading screens can be long af. Bonus: using Revelio while flying greatly increases the radius of its effect, even if you're hovering a milimeter off the ground. Combo flying around on your broom with Revelio, collect EVERYTHING and sell any unwanted gear ASAP so you don't fill up your inventory. Once you get to the point where you can capture beasts too, you can sell them at Brood & Peck in Hogsmeade; "rescue" a bunch of beasts, sell them at brood & peck, rinse and repeat however many times you like, you'll never want for coinage again.
Yeah true I was quite let down by how easy the game is. There should enemies that you have to take damage to. The fact that you can block or dodge EVERY attack in the game, basically ruins potions. I did my playthrough without using potions or the vegetable weapon things because you can make your spells and gear very powerful with little effort (a bit of exploration on top of just playing the story as prompted) and so on. I imagine it might, key word might, be a bit harder on controller because I just have all my spells and actions on mouse side buttons which makes it lemon squeezy. But yeah, I think if I saw this video before playing it would greatly mislead me.
A random tip for matriarch spiders When they rise up and you have to dodge, use descendo instead. This will bury their head into the ground, buying you time to heal and kill the smaller spiders.
For the legendary chests that bug out and close, I found that you can just reload the last checkpoint/save and delete and item and the animation will proc again. Very nice since last save is AT MOST less than 2 mins back.
I'll still have to make sure my future brother in law knows that he has to keep free inventory slots as much as possible instead of holding on to useless lower level gear. He has a habit of... not letting go of items.
Also a whole host of spells from the books and movies that would be fun to use, sectumsepra would be fun even tho it’s not invented for another 100 years after this game takes place.
All this “save and load if it’s not what you want in the chest .” I must be playing the game to its truest form . No saving and loading to get better loot in chest . I play ROLE playing style and can’t seem to put the game down. It’s so addicting
How do you do this? I love RPG games i think the story is great so far but i just have a problem really getting into the world, i love the game it’s fun but i find myself not really getting immersed into the game like i thought i would, i usually play 1-2 missions and then get off for the day, if you have any tips on how to enjoy my playthrough more enjoyable please let me know!!
why is it a "waste of crafting mats" to upgrade regularly? you can have them for free every 30 minutes from your beasts, and there is no other use for this, so what's the point of this tip??
It makes sense for early game cause you won't have much and you'll be leveling to so fast it'll be a waste. I didn't even upgrade anything until level 25
there is a thread on reddit where saw some numbers around regarding the those improvements and it would seem that when stacking lv3 on all 6 items, the blue ones would give around 60% for all damage spells while stacking 3 reds for a specific spell would give a bonus of around 50%. It seems that the bonus for each also increases depending on how many you have stacked overall and having 3 stacked makes each be about 17% but having 6 makes each be about 25%. So from that i would assume that you can stack 6 for damage to get a bonus of about 60% for all blues for all spells or a bonus of about 150% for all reds for a specific single spell. I'm going to try when i unlock the spell that turns enemies in throwables, to upgrade it so all are explosive barrels and to stack ancient throwing damage. Now i like focusing more on aoe spells and the maxed out ignitio is powerful but still doesn't deal that much damage compared to other more enemy personalized combos.
@@somnorila9913 the most broken trait set up is stacking all 6 with the trait that increases combat plant damage you literally just drop cabbages every time you get into combat and let them do the rest all you gotta do is dodge they’ll deal all the damage
The thing about the skill points is not a mistake by the devs. The mistake is you not reading the instructions when it pops up. It actually tells you that you wont be able to reset it and that you have to choose carefully. If you thought there would be a way to reset, it's because you didn't pay attention to the instructions.
9:48 My automatic feeders don't have my animals auto-fed when I walk in, it only STARTS the process when I load into the zone and I have to sit there for a full minute, watching the animals eat before I can start brushing them. Which is very annoying because when I first got the auto feeder, it did actually have them fed when I walked in but now has seemingly stopped doing that...
You can start brushing, some will come right up to you before eating. Just go spam at all. Eventually, they have the double love fest and you can just go around collecting. Or summon the ones who haven't. :)
i like trolls because they are pretty easy. Just be careful not to use the teleport dodge because the second red swing of his will hit you anyway. Using normal roll dodge permits yo do easily dodge both swings and the third two handed club in to the ground which puts it in position for you to use the spinning spell to make his club hit his head.
It's kind of bad design that a slow moving hulking troll can move 50 feet like he's the flash. They really need to fix the trolls ability to levitate across the battle feild mid swing just to hit you.
For the inferni, as well as other fights, you can crucio 1 enemy and attack them to curse all enferni in the area, and then you use transformation on your crucial target and pick up their exploding barrel and throw it... idk why but it acts like the avada kedavra and 1 shots all cursed enemies when doing this, including inferni
The Boom Barrel (It's what I call them lol) deals fire damage and I am fairly sure there is a talent that spreads the same kind of damage to other cursed targets.
I just tested this and I can confirm it's not the transformation spell that does it, but either 1 of the 2 scenarios - either you defeated the Ashwinder who summoned the Inferni (if you defeat the summoner, all it' s summons die) - or you transformed the Inferni into the explosive barrel, which deals fire damage so it kills infernis
I would suggest stacking ancient magic damage tier 3. Like he said none of the talents have diminishing returns, but ancient magic has the highest multiplier. So far my ancient magic hits @ 8-10k and I’m only lvl 30.
I don't have tier 3 yet, but every one of my traits except my hat has tier 2 of concentration on my ravenclaw main character, it beasts. I have a tier 2 ancient magic buildup trait in my hat tho
Another note for your leech farming, you don't need to get off the broom to grab anything other than scrolls and ornate chests. Every other collectible in the open world that I can remember can be grabbed while flying.
Personally, I found that it was worth it to focus more on tending, breeding, and selling magical creatures for gold and materials, rather than worrying about herbology and potions. You really only need to use those extensively if you are going for a herbology build and are focusing on the room of requirement skill tree which I've never bothered with. Spend a little time with some beasts and before you know it you'll be able to upgrade any new better legendary gear right to lvl 3 without running out of mats (once you get the unicorns and the lord of the shore). Once you start breeding beasts, you can just keep producing them free and the offspring sell for 120 galleons each. I barely used any items except wiggenweld potions unless the items gave dueling feats, and I rarely needed to craft or buy any because wiggenwelds drop pretty often. By level 25/30, my stock rarely dropped below 10 or 15 heal pots for any quest or mission. The only thing I even needed to grow in my ror was mallowsweet to grind through a bunch of Merlin trials. 🤷♂
Don't dismiss revelio pages for leveling early on. Zenobia's gobstone's is a great side quest that unlocks as soon as you have accio. It takes you all over Hogwarts, unlocking a lot of useful floo points, and taking you by a ton of revelio pages. I'm usually lvl 12 by the time I fight the troll in Hogsmeade. The only potting table you need to buy is the one with 2 large planters. Put 4 down and you can grow all 8 plants. And if you're having difficulty flippendo-ing a troll's club, stop holding protego long enough to go into the stupefy animation. Same for throwing their rock own back at them.
I wouldn't bother with reloading to get better gear. I don't think it improves the experience of the game, and it shouldn't matter that much. As for improving gear: Once one has the zoo going it's easy enough to get enough for all upgrades (but for those where one hasn't got the animal yet), from that point on just keep to legendary and put in all improvements. It's prohibitively expensive to buy mats for the enchants. Later one should have money in abundance from selling all the gear one finds (or the swapped out stuff when it's equipped), so go to the clothes store and look if there's something to improve your equip regularly at that stage.
4:40 I found out by personal experience if the ornate chest is a collection chest it will stay on the map as if it was never collected, I’m not sure if this affects any trophies at the moment.
6:28 Tip: When trolls slam on the ground on their 3rd attack, cast Flipendo on them, that will slam their weapon on their face causing critical damage and more stun time.
There is also dueling feats bug sometimes, Like one Dueling feat I encounter multiple times is 1. Disarm an enemy: When the enemies are Spiders 2. There are dueling feats bugs related to Rookwood enemies too, like for eg Cast Glacius/XYZ spell when Animagus or Poacher or XYZ enemy type is casting Reducto/XYZ spell. Encountered these a lot during the playthrough. 08:42 You can also Expelliarmus the Rookwood enemies that are casting AOE spells to turn them against themselves.
@@SepiaMaddy but casting expelliarmus on the spider will not fulfill the Dueling feat (I've tried, many times). because you actually have to disarm the enemy in order for the feat to be fulfilled. obviously, an enemy that cannot bear arms cannot be disarmed. and thus cannot be used to fulfill a feat that requires you to disarm an enemy.
I don't know if I play this game weirdly, but I don't use the potions or plants at all. I also think the upgrade system is odd because I got all the animals, upgraded all my gear to max (with help of reloading those 2 villages that sell phoenix feathers) and then I was done with the room of requirement features. I think it's because what I find unique to wizardry is the use of magic, so I went into is with the expectation to do everything with magic and played that way. Never had any problems in combat except for that one acromantular that I decided to fight early on with F all gear. As a result I placed all vegetable weapons and took a few potions and those basically killed it for me. So after that I didn't use them features again.
@@kurkosiaa I hadn't played the game at all for ages at the time of commenting and so I can't remember at all what those names mean, however I remember never requiring the use of any of the plants, and none of the potions outside of the ones you get by default or as rewards. I never grew plants or brewed potions is my point, and I would have liked to have seen it required I suppose.
Not fun really unless someone plans on making multiple characters but that’s very time consuming. I’ll have to let my friend know so she can be more careful. There needs to be a reset, I don’t mind the limited points
Still doesn't make sense. You'd have to play through over and over just to work and test out different talent builds. That's just time consuming and aggravating.
My comment is the game does reward the player for curiosity and doing some study though the enemy descriptions. For example, you will find out that the troll enemy combo is designed to give you a specific counter move with flippindo after it pulls down its third smash. It could be some kind of cheesy, but it does gives a taste of doing your study can pay off in your combats. But if you like to do try and error and discover all hidden traits by yourself, ignore me I am just a Ravenclaw book nerd who occasionally cast Unforgivable Curses on poachers.🤣
It's literally a tip in the loading screen, too. I swear, it's like some people refuse to read when playing video games and then they get butthurt when they inevitably miss stuff (not refering to you, I'm just more venting about gamers who do act that way).
It's particularly problematic because then inexperienced observers take these peoples concerns seriously - when there is no issue at all.@@GratefulforFreePress
I think a future DLC might include increased max level, as they may include more story levels, but until or if it happens it is important to be Mindful on the talents you spend
Thank you for this. I hate when there is no respec option, I find myself slogging through the game with hoarded talent points, waiting to figure out how I should best spend them... when all I really want to do is experiment and have fun finding the ones I enjoy the most, knowing I can always respec. Honestly don't understand why this isn't an option, seems like a stupid choice for this kind of game if it was intentional.
The autofeeder is almost useless. In this video you say what I hoped was true: beasts would be fed and only need brushed. They have an autofeeder, it makes sense. Nope. The beasts only spawn when you enter the vivarium, so only then will they go to the food. It's a pointless upgrade
Hopefully they add a skill reset option. It would be really handy. We don't want to use our points just in case we end up hating what we use them on lol.
I got all the laceration traits on my gear and at level 34 I did Glacius + Diffindo and hit 8k. Onehits almost everything. The other two are Crucio and Avada Kedavra to take out the most of the group.
+ you can use flipendo on troll when he does the slam attack aka the last attack in combo you can block , you instead dodge and flipendo it and you use his mace against him ;)
The protego talents could be really useful early on, but i found by the time you are the level to unlock them, most enemy attacks have become unblockable anyways. Protego is pretty much useless in the later half of the game where i found myself simply dash roll dodging all attacks. Long term, id rather have my talent points elsewhere.
yep dash roll is much more versatile and i think you can get it much, MUCH earlier on than either protego upgrade. I found that kinda annoying to that almost EVERY attack in the late game was unblockable, not because it was too hard but because I would get dueling feats that required me to either stupefy a certain class of enemy or to interrupt their blockable attack which of course I'd never get the chance to do so no matter how long a i drew out the fight with dodging and dashing because they simply would never fire off a blockable attack.
For the potions I primarily just use endurus potion and maxima potions. Maxima potions when you get the talent upgrade let any spell including basic casts break enemy shields and the endurus potion with the talent upgrade makes you completely invincible to all enemy attacks and even reflects projectiles back to enemies. Makes playing on hard difficulty rather easy to do. Not recommended to do on first playthrough imho cause it can take away a fair amount of fun. Also doesn't allow you to to really learn the combat "mechanics' doing that. But it's definitely fun at times to just completely steamroll everything 🤣🤣
9/10 in Spells (except for the Depulso buff) 10/10 in Dark Arts because this makes the character OP AF 12/16 in Core cuz of many useful skills 4/4 in Stealth cuz it made certain Quests way easier 0/8 in Room Of Requirements because you don't need any of that shit
Optimal setup for fighting imo is, 1. Acio: cuz it’s purple & pulls enemies towards you. 2. Confringo: for that long distance fire & it’s red. 3. Glacio: for freezing enemies and its yellow. 4. Forget the name but, the aoe/fire spell because you can pull multiple enemies in and them aoe them.
Currently we CAN reset Talent points with gold. So it's not that crucial anymore. And considering that we're swimming in gold from a certain point in the game. I think it's wise to try out any combination of builds that you'd like.
I hope they can patch the reflections that reveal windows the developers erased but forget to remove the light coming from them. Also the 3d audio does not indicate a location of a chest or point of interest properly. It just simply pings in mono instead.
@@DarrkSixx I ligit thought that the audio wasn't working right. The 3d audio works for everything else so I assumed it was supposed to be the same for this.
you dont need all the talents. get zero of the consumables talents, only get "sprint while invis" and dont get either "heal pots heal more". put all points into the other 3 trees.
it's also one of two dueling feats you will get when fighting a troll (as long as it's ONLY a troll); the other hitting a troll with it's own boulder both of which do significant damage AND stun the troll so there is almost zero incentive to not do both those things at least once when fighting any and every troll.
the amount of depth to this game amazes me truly. its crazy to know that this game could of been even better if they limited it to current gen and pc only and not decade old tech. i wonder if they red dead 2 did where they added multiplayer later if they could do that with this game
Just a very early theory (so could be wrong) about stacking tier 3 traits as i have only just begun testing but i actually think that different tiers of the same trait are multiplicative which potentially could mean stacking tier 3s is the wrong thing to do. For example if a tier 3 trait buffed a spell by 30% and you had two of them, you would get a 60% buff Whereas if a tier 2 gave you a 25% buff and is multiplicative with a tier 3 at 30% then you would get a 62.5% buff (1.25*1.3) That is just with two pieces of gear. If i am right then an example of how big of a difference it could be would be something like this: 6 pieces, all tier 3 at 30%=180% increase 2 pieces each of tier 1, 2 and 3 (20,25,30%)=236% increase
re: The House Chests (Legendary chests) not allowing you to loot gear due to a full inventory: If you ever end up with one of these chests not giving you loot due to opening it with a full inventory, go to Start > Settings > Load game and check your autosave history. Generally, the game autosaves right before you come across those chests, so if it did, you can simply reload, clear your inventory, and then loot it. Saved me half a dozen times in my playthrough.
Also you don’t need to dismount from your broom to collect ingredients and search chests. So you broom explorers or ingredient gatherers can do it easily, like for collecting leech juice in this vid
while true, when trying to collect multiple leeches in an area, the broom controls can be a little too wiley to ensure you get them all quickly, especially early on when you don't have any broom upgrades. but I do love flying through a patch of bushes with lacewing flies and scooping em up right quick :)
im loving this game. my only complaints would be no respec option, chest with wiggenweld potions and the unnecessary amount of Merlin trails lol. some tips. ..you can get on your broom while swimming and falling. ..the only use I found for flippendo was flipping tolls clubs in thier faces. ..upgrade revelios range asap. and when you're on the broom its range is alot furthur. ..when you use revelio and hear a chime like sound. a field page is near by, having headphones on can help you find them easier. sound gets louder as you get closer. ..sell all of your junk gear. destroying gear gives you nothing ..invest in creatures so you can rank 3 all your current pieces with ease and apply all the traits you want. ..dont buy the smaller plant/potion tables. save for the biggest table. iirc it was 5 small, 3 medium, 2 large, then you can just build multiple of the best table and maximize your build limit..eventually you'll have so many plants/potions at your base you can spam them ..even if you have opened all of the legend chest on your way to lv40. I just go to Gladrags and buy stuff. you end up with so much coin from selling junk gear. I went about every 5 levels and grabbed pieces etc.
Flipedo can also be used as an extra curse with the talent. This adds an additional cursed target for mass death when you kill one cursed enemy they all die. Flipendo is also great additional crowd control tool and useful as a long distance purple shield breaker when others are on cooldown.
@Pepcfreak for curse i just use the 3 with expel. crucio first. few hits. avada. for force spells. i prefer acio with the upgrade. then finish them off with upgraded incendio.
Flipendo works well on dugbogs, right after the complete their unblockable attack, you can flip them on their back and do more damage. Though it's honestly better to levioso and diffindo them since it's an insta kill.
Yep, took me an EMBARASSINGLY long time to figure out wtf the chime meant. I knew it happened only sometimes when I used revelio but could never for the life of me figure out what it meant. Now it seems just so obvious.
I don't think respeccing was "forgotten". Some games simply do not allow it. This pushes the player to be more mindful of their upgrades, gives more reason to make multiple characters, and makes the whole system feel more finite and thus more important. I know not everyone enjoys not being able to respec, but I personally kinda miss games making you take more agency in your stat choices. My first character is Ravenclaw and is pretty much leaning towards ancient magic and versatility as a Ravenclaw would. My Hufflepuff will be all about plants and potions. May make my Gryffindor be a (mostly) close ranged fire mage specialist and my Slytherin will probably go assassin style with curses.
Sure, the design is interesting if you look at it like that... But the whole idea of making a build, making things work together only becomes clear later in the game. So people start spending their talents right off the bat without knowing there's limited talent points to spend and specific synergy between spells. So this game does that pretty bad and should have a respec option or make what you just said clear BEFORE you start spending points.
@@TommorowISNAP That goes for pretty much every game with RPG elements; not just this one. It's an argument of opinion and design philosophy where both sides have valid points and it's not worth debating on imo. And the game does tell you when Talents are unlocked that you need to be careful with what you invest in and that it's permanent. That was enough to tell me to not expect respeccing and that not everything will be obtainable.
I think it's probably just an artificial way to encourage people to re-play the game because honestly there isn't much point in playing through again. This game particularly seems like it will be kinda painful to do a 2nd playthrough considering the start of the game is very slow, not much combat, few skills, no talents, no broom etc.
@@bellyfr0g Yes, thus the "gives more reason to make multiple characters". It's no different from other games that have multiple characters/classes you have to choose at the beginning of them. If you enjoy the game enough you're given incentive to play through again but with a different perspective.
@@bellyfr0gIn order to platinum the game though you need to do half play throughs as other house students, because you need to find the map chamber as a student from every house. I am having trouble finding the Imperial Black and Silver wand, it’s the last one I need and it’s RNG 😮😮 PS I also think it was dumb to give us only 40 gear slots, should have given us at least 100 given that there are 95 Merlin Trials.
Did you even bother to read the Enemy Collection guides? It explains how to easily beat any enemy. You can use certain blue spells like against the troll after it hits its club on the floor to stun it. Just spam all damage spells and its easy game.
Heyo I think you have one HUGE problem with this video.. You said once you reach level 40 you'll be short about 8 skill points (because there are 48 total). The problem is you don't unlock talent points until level 5. So you really only get 35 skill points which means you'll be short 13 skill points. Now maybe I didn't notice that I got all 5 skill points before level 5 but I'm lvl 31 and I've done the math and I'm pretty sure I'll be missing out on 13 not on 8. (Who knows maybe I'm wrong and ill double check when I play later but I'm pretty sure you miss out on 13)
I thought it was 12 talents you will miss? 5 thru 40 = 36 total talent points. 48 total talents, 48 - 36 = 12. I do hope they add a respec option at least though. Maybe a new potion we can buy/brew.
No it’s 36 talent points. Even the trophy tracks 36. Also, why did you say leech juice is used for every potion? It’s only used for maxima and thunderbrew
Just got chills from that😂. But seriously tho, if you do use time turner, you have to deal with the 2nd version of yourself. It’s not exactly the same concept as a “NG+”. But I do think time turner should be used in game somehow to make a fun mechanism.
No respec no problem, I dont see any build possibly using all the stealth or potions, so im jsut putting 2 in both of those 1s, then core good besides revelio which meh, ill walk the extra meter and spam it instead lol. and jsut not using these is like 7 to 9 points not needed.
You are just making it harder on yourself by not blocking. There are encounters where you will just be rolling nonstop if you arent blocking…Wait til you fight a higher levelled room full of goblins snd trolls.
It literally warns you when you unlock the talent points that you have to be careful spending them and that there's no way to reset them. Like... the game LITERALLY tells you this
so far i have done all of the things i wanted with the talent points. mostly cause i have never used a wiggenwald potion and i rarely use stupefy and protego. i just go in and hit them hard and hit them fast mostly with the red spells, diffindo, confringo, expelliarmus and now depulso. so i focused on improving those and dropped any of the talent points referring to that and the potions and the combat plants. since i do not use potions or combat plants. so i went in and did all the spells and curses ones and the stealth. so far so good for me
This game is amazing! 😍 Not my usual type of game, I usually play games that don't require a lot of dodging and blocking but I am having loads of fun with it!
I personally like long combat sections in the game where I can dominate the enemies with long well executed combos so I invested almost zero time on upgrading my gear. Only thing how I spent time on it was equip next best thing I looted from somewhere. And game is way too short to actually go into lengthy upgrade spree. Unless you extend the game time by farming for materials you don't need.
See that's the thing, it's just as much an exploration game as it is a combat game. In fact, I'd weight it even more towards exploration (70-30). Your gaming style sees at as an "unnecessary extension" of the game, but to many people (like me) the exploration aspect is equally as enticing as combat if not more so. And there is so much lore packed into it, especially if you take the time to read Field guide pages. I'm not saying your playing style is wrong, btw, all I'm saying is that you will inherently miss out on A LOT of what the game has to offer if you don't put time into exploring because the game was literally designed to be explored.
I assume the video is aimed at people new to rpg type games because anyone experienced in them knows, loot everything constantly especially materials, and once you get to about level 30 plus you should be able to have a beast farm so upgrading gear every time you get a better item is no issue
So is it better to just stack the same trait on all your gear for 1 spell and make that OP ? Or is it better to use a different lvl3 trait on each piece ?
For general purposes ( buffing all dmg spellss) use Concentration. For specific Spells ( except plants) use their specific Traits since the damage is double for that spell compared to concentration. It’s totally fine to go full concentration. That’s what I currently use
I didn't know the traits were randomized... but it was an adventure nonetheless lol. Found Ancient Magic III on the bandit camp you'd encounter early game and had a suspicion. After clearing out 75% of the map's bandit camps, of course :D
1:00 “forgot” right like the “just beat the game with one button press” feature. You know the feature where you just the the end credits without all the trash in the middle.
In this vid I saw you not spending the ancient magic. This is a HUGE waste of dmg. You need to have this on CD every time. Hell you have a perk for that shortening the CD even further.
A moments silence for all those (including myself) who turned down Avada Kedavra without knowing 😢 Game didn't even warn me that I'd be turning it down if I select the first option 😡
How special are the ornate chests? I've missed a few due to this glitch and was wondering if I should start a new game or not? Is it just legendary gear, or are they unique gear with unique Overlay customizations? I'm playing on story mode so I really don't need the best gear out there I'm doing pretty well by myself. I just want to know what I am missing out on.
Most games don't allow respect its the normal thing to have a choices matter system respect runins it besides its not like you can't reply in a difficult style
I think there is a trend that younger players seem to want instant gratification so they complain about no reset for the Talents, This was obviously well thought out and makes perfect sense, It's CONSEQUENCES like in real world limited resources, it adds FUN to the game, you're not just getting to do as you wish, Oh well lol I like it, it makes your choices matter and adds a layer of replay Ability, They waited until people had their fun and on jun 3rd they are adding reset of talent points which I get if you're DONE with the game but if it applies to any new player, dang that sucks the fun and point they were trying to make, Most adult games in fantasy have had these consequences for years already, Some games even have accidental consequences you aren't told about at all, Like one game where if you get rid of a merchant "get rid" then You will never get the drop of a rare item again, you either have to have saved before hand which you would not know to do in without youtube videos, While cruel it's hilarious and a consequence of getting rid of an innocent bystander. The talent tree isn't even a huge consequences, I'm only at 27 talents and I picked all the fun ones and now i'm stuck bored with the remaining choices, don't even know what to pick since it will take grinding to higherl levels. The only hiccup i'm getting in the game... If you go after too much of the story, I feel like i JUST started, Haven't even gotten to enjoy the potion making, feeders etc. and its telling me i'm at the final test, There is no way to me this could be the end, i'm hoping its at least seventy percent not ninety , i'm even hoping for sixty as that makes more sense, I ignored many sidequests because i don't care about 'wand handles" i don't care about "conquering" why would i do all that for the ability to probably just make a statue, huge L on the devs part, i'd rather not know what i'm getting so i can have fun doing the challenges. Now i think the game might be over and welp... Feel like nothing really got done in the game. It sucks honestly. They should make you have a quota of least SOME side quests like you need as little as 3 to move on. If they added incentive without it being overwhelming , just a little small small nudge with plenty of side quests left over (theres a lot it feels like most of the game is there) then cool...Also i feel like i've BARELY actually checked out the map , barely gone into the forests , the towns etc , because i thought i had more time , instead i'll get overwhelmed, not be motivated to do that (seriously all of these open world games feel like WORK) So i end up taking a deep breath and just clicking main story quests which ended up me getting to far ahead, Seriously they should guide you in open world games like straight line linear games, to newbies to open world, again it's overwhelming.... I temprarily quit zelda to play hogwarts, and zelda had the same issues to where i can't bring myself to resume zelda because it feels like....WORK haha, I don't want to feel like i'm going to work when I play a game to unwind, Seriously this genre has a huge misstep in that area.
When do you get access to your skill points? I just started the game the other day, played for 4 hours doing main story and a few side quests but I still cant input any skills. The game is really fun but I'm level 11 and somethings are starting to take a lot of work to beat in a fight.
I've stacked all concentration level II on all my gear, dont have level III yet. Flippendo then descendo kills lvl 20 spiders and wolves in 1 shot. Granted I'm level 33. Still fun.
An extra point; Unforgivable Curses break all color shields. If you have the trait that spreads curses when you attack, Crucio can be almost as powerful as the perfect protego talent

@@colesoileau cruicio dmg is such a waste lol... either go curse dmg or overall spell dmg..
something OP I discovered is that you can use the transformation spell as avada kedavra.

U can see in the enemies tab and there’s tips on how to hit them with their own shit. Like that troll w/ flippendo.
You don't even have to dodge to interrupt spells with another.
Talent points aren't really that big of a deal. By the time I was about level 32, I had solidified my play style and had every talent point that was worth getting.
For everyone commenting on flippendo with the troll, you should read every page of the enemy section in Collections. The game gives you those sorts of hints for each of them.
Thank you so much for saying this. Your words struck me as useful to more of my life than just this game.
A random tip for matriarch spiders
When they rise up and you have to dodge, use descendo instead. This will bury their head into the ground, buying you time to heal and kill the smaller spiders.
Another tip after using descendo use flipendo to instantly kill them
For the legendary chests that bug out and close, I found that you can just reload the last checkpoint/save and delete and item and the animation will proc again. Very nice since last save is AT MOST less than 2 mins back.
thank you, I missed 1 or 2 legendary chest because of that bug and it stressed me out lmao
I'll still have to make sure my future brother in law knows that he has to keep free inventory slots as much as possible instead of holding on to useless lower level gear. He has a habit of... not letting go of items.

Honestly I stacked “damage increase to all spells” on all my gear and it makes a huge difference
I stacked only 4, and the remaining 2 are "increase ancient magic fill rate". Spamming ults feels great.
there is a thread on reddit where saw some numbers around regarding the those improvements and it would seem that when stacking lv3 on all 6 items, the blue ones would give around 60% for all damage spells while stacking 3 reds for a specific spell would give a bonus of around 50%.

My automatic feeders don't have my animals auto-fed when I walk in, it only STARTS the process when I load into the zone and I have to sit there for a full minute, watching the animals eat before I can start brushing them. Which is very annoying because when I first got the auto feeder, it did actually have them fed when I walked in but now has seemingly stopped doing that...
Still better than running up to all dn do both
You can start brushing, some will come right up to you before eating. Just go spam at all. Eventually, they have the double love fest and you can just go around collecting. Or summon the ones who haven't. :)
@@Kaeldo Yeah true.
i like trolls because they are pretty easy.
I just tested this and I can confirm it's not the transformation spell that does it, but either 1 of the 2 scenarios
- either you defeated the Ashwinder who summoned the Inferni (if you defeat the summoner, all it' s summons die)
- or you transformed the Inferni into the explosive barrel, which deals fire damage so it kills infernis

My comment is the game does reward the player for curiosity and doing some study though the enemy descriptions.
I think a future DLC might include increased max level, as they may include more story levels, but until or if it happens it is important to be Mindful on the talents you spend
unfortunately no dlc is something that's been announced officially for this game
You have a talent for making these tutorial videos. Always excellent!

0/8 in Room Of Requirements because you don't need any of that shit
This
Agree, the only time i used tool was basically by accident when trying to revelio :P
You don't need plants but they are op
Optimal setup for fighting imo is,
Been having loads of fun with the maxed out cabbage warrior build. Will down a 30 troll in a few seconds
I hope they can patch the reflections that reveal windows the developers erased but forget to remove the light coming from them. Also the 3d audio does not indicate a location of a chest or point of interest properly. It just simply pings in mono instead.
There isnt meant to be 3d audio with revelio
@@virtuousheathen981 why not though?

They totally need to update to create new game+ so you can redo the story while keeping all talents so you can get all the talents.
you dont need all the talents.
get zero of the consumables talents, only get "sprint while invis" and dont get either "heal pots heal more".
put all points into the other 3 trees.
@@FractalPrism. na i love sneak attacking multiple enemies at once.
you can in fact kill the inferi with avada kedavra, just light them on fire and curse them then hit them with it. boom no more inferi.
You can also traverse quicker by rolling/teleporting through those slow crouch tunnel-like areas
When fighting trolls make sure your using flipendo on that last swing to stun the troll and get in some nice damage
it's also one of two dueling feats you will get when fighting a troll (as long as it's ONLY a troll); the other hitting a troll with it's own boulder both of which do significant damage AND stun the troll so there is almost zero incentive to not do both those things at least once when fighting any and every troll.
I opened 3 legendary chests with a full inventory on accident.... I'm pissed.
You don’t have to worry about missing great spell trees when you play as the cabbage lord and put Fangs 3 on all your legendary gear
Fangs 3 does less damage than Herbologist 3.
Cabbage lord lmfao
Marvel missed out
I’m using Control 3, Concentration 3 and Unforgivable 3 in my gear build and I’m destroying everything at lv40
im using concentration 3, Fangs 3 (Cabbij buff), both the Ancient Magic traits at 3, and disarm 3
the amount of depth to this game amazes me truly. its crazy to know that this game could of been even better if they limited it to current gen and pc only and not decade old tech. i wonder if they red dead 2 did where they added multiplayer later if they could do that with this game
Just a very early theory (so could be wrong) about stacking tier 3 traits as i have only just begun testing but i actually think that different tiers of the same trait are multiplicative which potentially could mean stacking tier 3s is the wrong thing to do.
For example if a tier 3 trait buffed a spell by 30% and you had two of them, you would get a 60% buff
Whereas if a tier 2 gave you a 25% buff and is multiplicative with a tier 3 at 30% then you would get a 62.5% buff (1.25*1.3)
That is just with two pieces of gear.
If i am right then an example of how big of a difference it could be would be something like this:
6 pieces, all tier 3 at 30%=180% increase
2 pieces each of tier 1, 2 and 3 (20,25,30%)=236% increase
Wtf
Let us know how did it go
re: The House Chests (Legendary chests) not allowing you to loot gear due to a full inventory:
If you ever end up with one of these chests not giving you loot due to opening it with a full inventory, go to Start > Settings > Load game and check your autosave history. Generally, the game autosaves right before you come across those chests, so if it did, you can simply reload, clear your inventory, and then loot it.
Saved me half a dozen times in my playthrough.
Legendary chests are not house chests. There is exactly one (1) house chest in each playthough and it's in your common room.
Also you don’t need to dismount from your broom to collect ingredients and search chests. So you broom explorers or ingredient gatherers can do it easily, like for collecting leech juice in this vid
while true, when trying to collect multiple leeches in an area, the broom controls can be a little too wiley to ensure you get them all quickly, especially early on when you don't have any broom upgrades. but I do love flying through a patch of bushes with lacewing flies and scooping em up right quick :)
im loving this game. my only complaints would be no respec option, chest with wiggenweld potions and the unnecessary amount of Merlin trails lol.
some tips.
..you can get on your broom while swimming and falling.
..the only use I found for flippendo was flipping tolls clubs in thier faces.
..upgrade revelios range asap. and when you're on the broom its range is alot furthur.
..when you use revelio and hear a chime like sound. a field page is near by, having headphones on can help you find them easier. sound gets louder as you get closer.
..sell all of your junk gear. destroying gear gives you nothing
..invest in creatures so you can rank 3 all your current pieces with ease and apply all the traits you want.
..dont buy the smaller plant/potion tables. save for the biggest table. iirc it was 5 small, 3 medium, 2 large, then you can just build multiple of the best table and maximize your build limit..eventually you'll have so many plants/potions at your base you can spam them
..even if you have opened all of the legend chest on your way to lv40.
Actual content: 1 thing that might ruin your character (talents), 1 thing that may help you get stronger (gear upgrades) and an assortment of tips
(Who knows maybe I'm wrong and ill double check when I play later but I'm pretty sure you miss out on 13)
Ah, I see someone else called it out in a comment below me and there are 13 you miss. No worries there
So im just starting a new run 15 hours in so far. Keep forgetting to do some of the main story sometimes lol. But these tips help so much! Tysm!
I thought it was 12 talents you will miss? 5 thru 40 = 36 total talent points. 48 total talents, 48 - 36 = 12.
I do hope they add a respec option at least though. Maybe a new potion we can buy/brew.
True. It's not even 8, it's 13 (you get 35 talent points total at the lvl cap, while there are 48 different talents)
Great vid tho, your combos vid greatly improved my combat. Appreciate the content you’re putting out for this!
No it’s 36 talent points. Even the trophy tracks 36.
Also, why did you say leech juice is used for every potion? It’s only used for maxima and thunderbrew
They can do new game plus and i have two words that can make everything make sences for making a new game plus and that is (TIME TUNER)
Just got chills from that😂. But seriously tho, if you do use time turner, you have to deal with the 2nd version of yourself. It’s not exactly the same concept as a “NG+”. But I do think time turner should be used in game somehow to make a fun mechanism.
After you protego the club smash from the troll. Flippendo it for high damage, then follow with a glacio and diffindo to maximize your damage
Haha if you never new what harry potter was or this game and you read this comment at random, youd be quite confused. Sounds like slang words lol
@@MGTKk lmao
No respec no problem, I dont see any build possibly using all the stealth or potions, so im jsut putting 2 in both of those 1s, then core good besides revelio which meh, ill walk the extra meter and spam it instead lol. and jsut not using these is like 7 to 9 points not needed.
For skill points, I don’t upgrade stupify and some room of requirement. Because I don’t really block
You are just making it harder on yourself by not blocking. There are encounters where you will just be rolling nonstop if you arent blocking…Wait til you fight a higher levelled room full of goblins snd trolls.

@@btnhstillfire most of my protegos fail on outnumbered fights. Dodge is the only way to reliably mitigate damage

@@btnhstillfireI have completed the game, I have started a new play through with the protego and stupify. Still ignoring potion and cabbage
It literally warns you when you unlock the talent points that you have to be careful spending them and that there's no way to reset them. Like... the game LITERALLY tells you this
so far i have done all of the things i wanted with the talent points. mostly cause i have never used a wiggenwald potion and i rarely use stupefy and protego. i just go in and hit them hard and hit them fast mostly with the red spells, diffindo, confringo, expelliarmus and now depulso. so i focused on improving those and dropped any of the talent points referring to that and the potions and the combat plants. since i do not use potions or combat plants. so i went in and did all the spells and curses ones and the stealth. so far so good for me
You can use plants to kill groups of enemies without them even suspecting that you're there
@@Psilomuscimol which is dumb af. what's the point of that? you're not even playing the game, you're watching a a computer play the game for you.
This game is amazing! 😍 Not my usual type of game, I usually play games that don't require a lot of dodging and blocking but I am having loads of fun with it!
Fantastic advice. I really appreciate the effort you put into the information you provide.
12 talents, not 8. You don't start earning talent points until level 5, so you only have a total of 36, not 40.
For those AOE attacks, you can also use arrestor momentum on the castor to prolong the spell for a bit longer as well
I assume the video is aimed at people new to rpg type games because anyone experienced in them knows, loot everything constantly especially materials, and once you get to about level 30 plus you should be able to have a beast farm so upgrading gear every time you get a better item is no issue
@@Khrazegaming awesome thanks I was debating just max buffing one or 2 spells but an all around buff sounds better
it doesnt matter, enemies are easy and the dodge window is absurdly large
I feel so OP late game. It’s almost too easy. I hope they update it so enemies scale to your stats.
I didn't know the traits were randomized... but it was an adventure nonetheless lol. Found Ancient Magic III on the bandit camp you'd encounter early game and had a suspicion. After clearing out 75% of the map's bandit camps, of course :D

Most games don't allow respect its the normal thing to have a choices matter system respect runins it besides its not like you can't reply in a difficult style
You can also use Flippendo after the TROLL 3 HIT COMBO to hit the troll with his own bat. It deals massive damage
You've got some of the best Hogwarts Legacy content around 👏
What is the white outfit piece you use with the white thief coat you get from the battle arena?
When do you get access to your skill points? I just started the game the other day, played for 4 hours doing main story and a few side quests but I still cant input any skills. The game is really fun but I'm level 11 and somethings are starting to take a lot of work to beat in a fight.
I've stacked all concentration level II on all my gear, dont have level III yet. Flippendo then descendo kills lvl 20 spiders and wolves in 1 shot. Granted I'm level 33. Still fun.
I'm old so all perfect protego perks are a waste for me because I'm too slow. :) Anyway, great video as always!!
