I was 10 in '76, and I adored her too. It had nothing to do with her body. It was who she was before she got involved with Ryan. She had a magical charisma. Unfortunately, it doesn't really translate here. She does seem very scattered, and David's making the most of it.

Ryan O’Neal happened to her. He was a fighting his own demons and very Narcissistic and I am sure he was most likely emotionally abusive to Farrah and that takes its toll on anyone. She probably was anxious and had a little bit to drink to reduce her anxiety. I think she handled it well despite her being a little spacey. She was very sweet and never lost her temper or get belligerent like how Ryan would get under the influence. People need to cut her some slack. As far as Dave’s behavior he is like with other people too, look at his interviews with Drew Barrymore.

I viewed the whole interview. She was NOT high. She seemed a bit ditzy because the audience kept laughing at every little thing she said. Letterman is the most horrible interviewer, he's go attention deficit disorder it seems. He keeps making stupid cracks and interrupts her train if thought. As for the moment she looked at the backdrop, I believe she really hadn't focused on it until that moment and it appeared to be a he was on something. I really don't believe Farrah came across as an Einstein, so for her to get her thoughts out verbally might have been a challenge for her given the people that kept taking away from what she really wanted to say.

She isn’t the only celebrity to get high before a talk show appearance. Happened on Carson, Leno and O’Brien multiple times with various guests from what I remember. Letterman also had his share of “high” on life celebrity guests. Look up Harmony Korine who got banned after several strange appearances.
I remember watching this live. I was deep into an LSD trip when someone happened to turn it on, and I remember it made me feel geeked out and awkward for her! I was like omg, she's tripping out as hard as I am while on live TV! Poor girl! I felt a spirit to spirit entanglement with her on some conscience and unconscious levels, like my empathy was somehow a tangible entity and was my new superhero mutant ability, and I still feel people's moods and feelings and such....but then again, that could of all along just been the LSD, and that I'm still having those supposed free-buzz flashbacks like I was always promised but never received!!! I think she was so beautiful. I don't think she's on drugs. There are many distractions going on, David is leading the conversation a lot, and I'm guessing that she's nervous. She even professes that she doesn't like the way she looks and you can tell she's uncomfortable. Why does some people have to jump to she's on drugs?! Any, what society claims as, "irregular behavior" has to have a tear down of someone. Why can't it just be taken as it was, an interview on television in front of north American and eventually the world. As far as her weight, she was at an age of being pre menopausal if not hitting menopause which would be explanation for weight, keeping track of thoughts, thinning of skin and hair, hair growth, and memory issues. Hormone imbalances can really cause some issues. It's good to see the loving comments for her. But some of the behavior in these comments are terrible. She's passed away but she can't be admired in peace. The bickering and condescension is crazy. Cancer is terrible and she flew all over trying to find help. So sad. Compassion and empathy is really becoming thin in society?!😞
This interview was bad. This was right about the time she ditched Ryan O'Neal for good (no, they never resumed a romantic relationship). This was about a year before she reconnected with her college sweetheart and real love, Greg Lott, who wasn't famous and Farrah kept the relationship private.

She even professes that she doesn't like the way she looks and you can tell she's uncomfortable. Why does some people have to jump to she's on drugs?! Any, what society claims as, "irregular behavior" has to have a tear down of someone. Why can't it just be taken as it was, an interview on television in front of north American and eventually the world. As far as her weight, she was at an age of being pre menopausal if not hitting menopause which would be explanation for weight, keeping track of thoughts, thinning of skin and hair, hair growth, and memory issues. Hormone imbalances can really cause some issues. It's good to see the loving comments for her. But some of the behavior in these comments are terrible. She's passed away but she can't be admired in peace. The bickering and condescension is crazy. Cancer is terrible and she flew all over trying to find help. So sad. Compassion and empathy is really becoming thin in society?!😞
