I felt like the dog was annoyed they were clapping before the trick was over. Lol like a comedian where the audience laughs at the wrong part. Ginger was like "wait until I'm finished, bozos!"
I experimented with that concept recently while working at a filtered water bottling company. Some of our five gallon jugs didn't fill all the way, so we had to dump 'em, then run 'em through the line again. Older guy showed me your trick, and the horse's trick, how you spin and spin till there's a vortex, and then (coworker said): "It empties faster." Anyway, LSS, I compared vortex emptying rates to non-vortex emptying rates, and they were the same. Why? Because even though the vortexed ones were faster in the beginning/middle of the drain, at the end the non-vortexed jugs drained faster. Try it yourself, ARobertson.
@@pashadyne More than one of my coworkers at that fine job felt the same way. They did it for fun. I'm more into efficiency. Better to put bottle up there to drain, then go do something else for a while, then come back and continue to process that now empty bottle. Never was that the last bottle, and draining it now as fast as possible was a priority.
If the horse had been chugging out of a glass boot, he would have had to physically turn the boot at precisely the exact moment that the air bubble reached the toe. Otherwise, risking penalty points, wasting bier and possible disqualification from officials during the annual Octoberfest "Das Boot" competition. One of several events involving chugging bier, a very popular and competitive International event held in Germany in the fall. 🇩🇪 🍺
These are so nostalgic, so funny… what close bonds we humans can form with other animals. I am sharing this with many friends .. thanks so much, Mr. Letterman’s staff.
I love that we're getting official Letterman content on UA-cam finally but can we stop editing out all of Dave's commentary around the tricks? that is the funniest part!
Naa-ah; it was a bit gross, but it's a natural thing that most young birds do, and thus perfectly valid. I believe she shoulda got extra points for grossing Dave out - and I think that was her idea.
I saw many dogs bringing tennis balls wooden sticks and other playful things. That pickpocket dog (when I listen I thought he may bring whole bag) but bringing money was so impressive for me. 🎉
Minty Pig had me laughing so hard. Thank you, that was my workout for the day!
You ain't the only one.
The pig making that shape with his mouth, like "my breath feels minty fresh." LMAO! PRICELESS!!!
And wagging tail the whole time
His eyes were almost human too. Never really had a good look at their eyes
@@woodstream6137 Pigs are extremely genetically close to humans. 2nd only to Chimpanzees.
I WAS IN TEEEEEARS 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I liked the pickpocketing dog the best. Especially when he stops and gives a disapproving look to the audience laughing at him.
That was the best moment
@@LRS905 LOL!

Go places loot things
Nah, he was checking to see if he's been compromised.
Always be aware of your surroundings. 😂
Best part of the show. Bailey the Beagle will always be my favorite.
Had me dying that flip over. He’s probably over the rainbow now… 😢
I was ROFL when the dog DIDN'T flip the first treat.
Dog is thinking the first one is for me; so sit tight you'll get the next one.
Oh man, the pig with the mint 😂
The "play dead" beagle was my favorite.
Mine too, 100%. LOL
Yeah, I was expecting to see Bailey on here. It could have easily taken the duck and cottage cheese spot.
Mine too
And the thief dog for the second
😂
Where was the play dead beagle?
Never thought I would see a pig enjoying a mint. I now have truly seen everything.
1:05 The horse knew to create a vortex in the water!
The horse is smart. Sure, he got the water from the fridge… but he also knew to create a vortex to get the water out faster

When i'm at a bar, i'm ALWAYS "draining" bottles as fast as i can. :oP
Usually, Guinness.

These weren't stupid pet tricks. They were awesome pet tricks!
This is why David Letterman was the best show in our lifetime. You could always expect the unexpected on his show. He made TV fun. 😄 👏
Would you say Johnny Carson did too?
@@NoOne-kr4jc , Yes, of course. Johnny set the bar for everyone. He was the Legend.
I liked Johnny Carson and Jay Leno a lot better.
Don’t know but love these pets ,:-0 👍
Letterman was great, but Craig Ferguson wasn't anything to complain about.
The jump roping dog is my favorite. Truly amazing.
I'm so old, I remember watching every single one of these first time around.
Me too. I loved the elevator races. My family has gotten other families to do elevator races while on vacation
There's no one like David Letterman! You are the Most Fun, Most Adorable, Super Late Night Showman, Always in my Heart!! Miss you Forever!
Have you seen his interviews on Netflix??? Very good!!!
All of the acts are unique. You are talking about animals. God given Blessed talent.
So therapeutic and beautiful.
The look on Dave’s face when the duck was eating from the woman’s mouth was priceless!
It's a slippery slope from ducks & cottage cheese to the adult entertainment industry.
I forgot how much I loved this part of Letterman!
OMG! Dave was my absolute favorite and stupid pet tricks was the funniest. 😂
These are so nostalgic, so funny… what close bonds we humans can form with other animals. I am sharing this with many friends .. thanks so much, Mr. Letterman’s staff.
the best!
You are welcome!
@Laraine. Human beings are not animals.
I don’t like peppermint either, glad I am not thee only one ,:-0
We’re all animals, humans are, we all have eyes, mouths, ears, we’re not superior that’s from the bible not science ,:-0
The pig is TREMENDOUS. ❤😂
All these new videos on UA-cam are awesome. Thank you whoever did this.
Still the silliest and most fun late night show. I watched for over 20 years Dave really seems to love animals.
Craig Ferguson enters the chat
Stupid pet tricks always was, is and will be THE ABSOLUTE BEST!😀🤣🖖❤🙏🕊🌍
So great. Even Dave’s “bad” shows were darn good. Sure fire entertainment every single night of the week.
I never get tired of watching these stupid pet tricks. They are even better to watch than some stars that came on the show😂
Thx&see ya😁
Only you could pull this stuff off Dave. Thanks for the memories
I love that we're getting official Letterman content on UA-cam finally but can we stop editing out all of Dave's commentary around the tricks? that is the funniest part!
Yeah, honestly I wish they'd just give us the full episodes or something at this point, the normal bits that get cut out are full of gold moments
they are all beautiful, but the dog saying "I love you" was my favorite.
Loved the sleepy bunny 🐰
And the dog skipping rope 😂
My cat passed away last night.
To watch these pet tricks gave me a smile....those animals would not have performed without love for their owners.
Such joy...Dave's shows made me sooooo happy! Still do!
Letterman was one of a kind. His quick comments given the situation have never been equaled although Carson was right there
Wow I didn't realize how much I missed these. Thanks to the old 90s NY lotto computer for randomly picking the best clips.
Haven't laughed so hard in years. Dave was the best. Hands down.
The beagle that played dead is still my favorite
Please, no wagering.
Who knew a pig sucking a lozenge could be so funny! I think it was the best of the bunch 🐖
Where’s the one with the dog that goes limp/dead after pretend being shot at?
That one was better than most (if not all) of these 10 pet tricks.
I love the pig and the pug!!!
The pig had me cryin 😂😂😂
Seeing Letterman's reaction to the cottage cheese lady was stomach churning funny.
A very nice show it gives apportunity to animals to show there talent
😮The pony learned that swirling the bottle emptied it faster , he had a good vortex going 😅
Love the pig and pik poket😂😂😂😂
Only thing missing…the legendary slow-mo’s after each trick. Still great though.
I thought the same!
wish the playing dead beagle was on the list, I love watching that video.
The slomo on the Pug’s I love you is amazing
Love it. Cottage cheese was #2? Haha Dave always tries to distract. and the jump rope was awesome!
Barney the rabbit's owner is adorable.
I loved the standing ovation that the dog jumping rope got !! It deserved it !
👏🏼👏🏼💗💗So happy to see this!! Stupid Pet Tricks was always my mom's favorite bit!! This was such a treat, thank you!!!💖🥰👏🏼💗✌🏼
The cottage cheese lady should be arrested
🤣🤣🤣
Naa-ah; it was a bit gross, but it's a natural thing that most young birds do, and thus perfectly valid. I believe she shoulda got extra points for grossing Dave out - and I think that was her idea.
Arrested?😂🤣😂🤣
That duck is going to need therapy.
Arrested? David must have been thinking "Usually I pay in advance for these sort of things"
Also top 10 was definitely the bulldog that rocked on his rocking chair and sang. Missing that one.
How could you not love a dog that says, "I love you"? ❤️
That dog looked up🐶 like what are yall gone snitch🤣🤣pick pocket
Stirling the dog and the beagle who falls asleep
Dave was and is a consummate entertainer. A comedic genius.
Sooo Good. Going back through the years of these. 🤣🥰
I'm sorry, but the dog that "played dead", the beagle will always be the best stupid pet trick, and it's not even on the list?
I DIED!!!😂😂😂😂😂
Dave had the best show in late night
Genius! I so miss Dave.😢
Great tricks, but I can't believe Bailey the beagle didn't make the cut.
OMG.... i was laughing so hard my our room, the wife came running in.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I liked jumping dog so cute and horse drinking water bottle awesome 😂😂
I always loved pet tricks...thanks
6:13 the look on Dave's face says it all.
The best trick I ever saw was the beagle that plays dead in his owners arms.
I saw many dogs bringing tennis balls wooden sticks and other playful things. That pickpocket dog (when I listen I thought he may bring whole bag) but bringing money was so impressive for me. 🎉
Dave hosted the greatest late night TV show ever.
Carson sure wasn’t bad….
@@woodystorey he was absolutely wonderful.
@@ASM881 they both were
Barney gets sleepy on command 😂
omg the dog and monkey on the slide
The pickpocket dog looking around makes it seem like he was trained to watch out for cops
OMG, that cottage cheese duck thing! Just...NO!!!
I like how the horse went to get another one haha he pulls him back
So Letterman was the UA-cam before UA-cam!
And Steve Allen was the Letterman before Letterman
Yep that’s what I said. I’m going back in time myself.
Basketball-playing dog at the beginning is the best clip from this set, followed closely by the mint-smelling pig.
Can't believe they left out Gabe, the bulldog who can ride a rocking horse. 😄
Dave saying "hello baby" to Gabe is like an all time great Letterman moment
was best late night show ever
I was waiting for the horse to grab a beer !!
That basketball trick is good
My favorite bit, love the pets
Loved it indeed.
Bailey! Bailey!
I WANT THAT PICKPOCKETING DOG rn!!!
All were awesome 😎
Why would they call this stupid animal tricks?
They are freaking brilliant😮😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I'm gonna go with the horse. But Dave's expression when the duck was eating the cottage cheese is a close second.
ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!
I always loved this
That cottage cheese woman is just a crazy person
Great show David Letterman
Love this soooo much! Really miss the DL show ❤️
I miss this show so much
My favorite part of the show.
Wonderful, when late night TV was entertaining and funny!
DELIGHTFUL
Now I have the hiccups from laughing!
they were all great but the pig was exceptional
Olive oil was so cute I almost forgot about the duck lady.
The little doggie says "I love you" to the cottage cheese-eating duck and the jump-rope dog!
Like to see a Where are they now, featuring the duck lady.
Stupid pet tricks was the best. But they really weren't stupid.
