Using the ND Filters gives the Hyperlapse a Deep, Dark & Rich Look that's more focused on the streeks/ long exposure!
Here are my settings for all the ND filters:
1. ND16 ISO1600. 2sec shutter.
2. ND8 ISO1600. 1Sec shutter.
3. ND32 ISO1600. 3Sec Shutter.
Happy Flying 😃
Hi Man!
You can reach the same result without the filter and with a better image quality. You just have to turn down the ISO to compensate. So probably without ND filter you are good with ISO 400. Reducing the ISO will give you less noise.
I've tried it without the filters and it does look good too but everything is bright and not as dark, rich & dramatic.
Try both and compare for yourself.
However if you're using the raw files, don't use higher than ND4.
Thanks for sharing.
@@xavier_arthur I will try it out to see it so!!! Many thanks for all the videos you share with us!!
Nice video but I think with ISO 100 you could achieved 2 sec exposure without ND filters ua-cam.com/video/vXbFwHzWQhU/v-deo.html
Hi, I’ve been following your channel on UA-cam, great videos thanks for making them. Where can I find the strobe light you’re using?
One of the reasons why I enjoy flying DJI drones so much is because of it's helpful and supportive community! Thanks for the tutorial!
Ton be y can you talk? iOS
You're welcome Carlton

Good video, great channel. A couple of suggestions from a hyperlapse expert: 1) just bring down ISO, don't use the filters. You are increasing graininess of your images for now reason. 2) apply stabilization to your hyperlapse, it's much smoother and more visually pleasing. You are welcome. :-)
Exactly.
The point of using the nd filters is to increase the shutter speed to show light trails, with the regards to high ISO, it’s possible to easily denoise it in post.
@@DroneFate there's just no point. You're just deteriorating your images...
You can bring down your iso and will definitely look cleaner if that's what you're going for.
I'm looking to darken highlights and richen the yellow lights to gold and bring out the lights More.
It's a more dramatic look not a clean look.
This is art not camera metrics buddy.

This is the first video of yours that I have viewed. Great job. I am now a subscriber. I can't wait to use the information from this tutorial on my own 2S.
You’re video has a great flow and very well done. I also like your cool followers in the comments community. Good people adding to the content. Just great.
I must say your'e confidence in flying at night, sitting in your car is most impressive. The finished result was amazing
Great tutorial, man. Just got my 2S and need to dial it all in. I like people who don't bullshit around and know what's up. No unnecessary BS music either. Love it. I'm Subscribed Brother!
Thanks Dan 🙂

First time I've actually understood how to properly use hyperlapse
Thanks.
Sweet! can you give a link for the night strobe?
I certainly need some hyper-lapse in my life. A different and creative use of ND filters - fantastic!
Oh wow! What a beautiful night footage from the air2s! So clean!
Awesome Video Bro, can I ask what settings you used for each me filter? Thanks again
My settings for each is in my PINNED comment 😁
A UK kid here. Oh boy, the best air 2S vid on the tube, must watch some more of your vids, impressive droning and camera work. Definite subscriber hear, learning from you, thanks so much, so enjoyed this, amusing and entertaining. 👏👍
Brilliant video, I will give this a proper watch when I'm not working.
I still need to get on the night hyperlapse stuff.
You’re not my usual style of youtuber by a long way, but I loved your video and presentation. Entertaining and informative with amazing results. Thank you.
You're welcome DS

Hey was just wondering what Anti-Collision light do you use. The one you have is exactly what 've been looking for. The velcro ones don't meet my needs so something that can be removed is far more preferable
Great Video! Where did you get the strobe light with the strap? I couldn't find a link in your list.

@@xavier_arthur Which one is your recommendation?
Love your videos.. I’ve had the Mini 1 for two years now and have 236 miles and 43 hrs on it. I’ve taken some amazing videos and photos all over the works with it.
Just bought the Air 2s to upgrade. I’m looking forward to advancing my flying and videography ability. Hyper lapses are definitely on my to do list
That was sick! Thank you so much for the good vibes and absolutely pro tips. It’s a lot of hard work! Thank you!!!
1st Class tutorial.
Learned a few things i didnt even know..... (and its for beginners haha :)
Subscribed and liked. im gonna follow you for more.
Great video as always man! The a2s' got so many features and tricks I want to try and explore! But this one's gonna be at the top of my to-do list!
Man I'm glad that I found you. I've been flying this drone for about 3 weeks. And Ive been wanting to learn about these feature and techniques to really unlock this drone. Glad that I found you
Great video! Thanx a lot! Please tell us the settings for the different ND filters. And please give us more videos like this! Stay healthy and always fly save. 😉
I’m going to try the air2s at night. Dude thanks so much! Specially you share all yours setting help me a lot! Appreciate that
You're welcome 😀

Great video! Of all the videos I watch, your's are the best. No fluff explaining non related things.
Awesome tutorial man! Really appreciate how you explain and edit everything so it's all clear and concise for those of us that aren't necessarily newbies, but can use a thorough explanation still. Keep it up bro!
Watched the video thinking it was really just a waste of time until i saw the results, now i cant wait to give it a try. Lov🎉ed the videos you shot.😊
I’m new and learning your videos are right to the point and easy to understand thank you bro
Great..... This is the first explination of how to use hyperlaps and way points with my 2s that I have seen!!!! Thank you.....
Badass. Just got the air2s and need to investigate hyperlapse. Thanks for the excellent tutorial.
Your channel is one of the best.
I’ve learned a lot from you on this. 🔥
Thanks for the info, I love my mini 3 pro, my first drone and I'm hooked.

Dude your awesome. A real clear insight in what to do when hyperlapsing. This will be my new challenge. Thanks💪🏻
AT LAST... someone who know what they’re talking about with hyperlapse... lol
Keep up the good work.
awesome shot!
Love your enthusiasm man. Great videos cheers from Australia.
I’d be interested in what settings to use for each filter, thanks…I live on a small reservation right in the beach🤘🏽….thanks!
awesome ... I would not have thought to put an ND filter on but it does keep you from having to expose longer and introduce more camera shake. Great vid! Thanks
This is my first time on your channel, and man, you got me HOOKED! You make this so simple, and you had me smiling or laughing the entire time! I look forward to diving into your channel more. This is great!!
How do you launch the drone from your and stick your arm out the window and it lands in your hand? Very cool please explain.
Can you please tell me why you use a nd filter? You could probably shoot at iso100 with a much cleaner pic and similar shutter?
More Dark & Dramatic look and Feel!🎨
Very good tutorial. Upbeat and can't wait to try. Have you done a hyperlapse around dusk?
Love your vids. You are in Queens?? Former Bklyn boy myself. More tutorials on Air2s and the SC- which I also rock. Happy Holidays X, you are very knowledgeable!!!!
love your vibe and energy bro. mad cool tut! thanks a million
I'm going to set up my first waypoint hyperlapse now using your tips. Your video was dope!
i love this guys vibe he just makes everything seem fun and interesting he deserves millions of followers. keep it up bro i love the videos 👌🏼👍🏼
Great Haicut!! You lost me on the set up for setting up the Hyperlapse. When done, it looks awesome!!
LOVE this tutorial. I have several Phantom 4s and just got my Air2s, doing some practice runs with such a small drone. What light are you using on the drone? I didn't see the link in your list. Hope its an amazon link so you can get commission!!!
Excellent. Do you also have video for daytime or sunset hyperlapse? Also wondering if you could do a hyperlapse in follow me mode during day of a moving subject? Thanks. Very well done 👍
Love the channel, and love your energy! I do have a problem however. I haven't flown my DJI Air 2s much in the last year, but when I began this spring I noticed that all those cool features were gone. I can't pick a point of interest ans have the drone film it as it circles. To cut to the chase, has something changed with the DJI Fly App? I asked another gentleman who posts Air 2s videos on UA-cam and he said that it hasn't, but I fear flying the Air 2s now because the screen doesn't look the way it used to, even after I've done upgrades. I would appreciate any feedback you have. Kind Regards. 😊
Nothing has changed, nothing's been taken away, more features have been added over time, you must make sure your drone is completely up to date, your controller is completely up to date and your DJI fly app is completely up to date to access all of the features.
Happy Flying 😎
Thanks, Xavier! All good points, altho Mini3 has been great for travel!
Does the latest SDK for Air2S enable Litchi and waypoints??
What were settings for ND 32 for sure? Love that look.
So glad I discovered this channel. Awesome tutorial. Gracias Amigo!! 🤙
Excellent tutorial!! I'm pretty jazzed to try this on my own! I'm surprised at the use of the ND filter, but will definitely try it.
Cool video. Aren’t we supposed to maintain line of sight with the drone at all times and not sit in the car and using the screen for it?
Can the Mavic Mini 2 with ND get that car streak look? Amazing WORK!!!!
Mini 2 without a filter will work!
droneXfactor love your quick response!!! Is that because the sensor is smaller? I just picked up a mini 2 and really want to try nail these Hyperlapses :)))
Correct, also be sure to go somewhere very bright at night to get the best results.
Lastly, you will need to set the pictures on a 2 second timer and stitch them together yourself in a editing program because mini 2 does not have a hyperlapse feature. ☹️
droneXfactor will do! I’ll post up a link if I get it nailed :) please keep up the great work
Very nice work! What are the settings for the ND 32?
Just placed my order for one today, I'm coming from the first gen DJI Air 1. DJI Air 1 did very very well have had it almost since the release date. Highly looking forward to my Air 2S and trying this mode.
@droneXfactor your tutorials are bangin, by far the best! I just came across a couple of them. I am tryin to find the hyperlapse with mini 3 pro you did and I definitely want to hear what you have to say on the filters regrading settings for each filter with the mini 3 pro in the air. Keep the good work comin fam.
Hi got an Air 2s last night fitted some crappy floats to it and tried a water landing it promptly flipped over and floated upside down downstream luckily I had tail legs landing lights fitted together with the flashing green top Strobe I tracked it downstream till came across a boating club where a nice, very nice lady went out in her single seater and fished it out for me. No more water landings for me. Can you give me the settings for ND filters you mentioned. Nice Posts
Curtis
Thank you for this and all the other great videos. Cheers from Berlin!

Love this but have a question. Why would you use an ND 16 filter and shoot at 1600 iso when you could shoot at 100 iso and not use any filter? In theory you’d get less grain and better color since you wouldn’t be pushing the sensor as hard and you’d get the same slow exposure.
Shooting without a filter at ISO 100 brightens up the road and the surroundings, I'm going for more of a dramatic feel where everything is dark except the cars streaking on the highway.
A good compromise would be ND4 with ISO 400 Maybe to get the same results but I'm not sure.
Thanks for sharing
Happy Flying 😁
Good point
@@xavier_arthur This comes with experience, trying everything out! Great job, good explanation too
Cool thanks , what strobe light is that ?
How do you land in your hand without the bottom sensor making the drone jumping up thinking your hand's an obsticle?
Here you go John:
ua-cam.com/video/35zIDnKLgQ4/v-deo.html
I learned a lot!! What brand of Drone Nite Stobe is that?
Great video !! I followed your instructions and was able to do my first waypoint hyper lapse tonight and was very happy with the result. Now I just need to experiment with different locations.
Hi DroneXfactor : I am quite new to this hobby. Can you tell me please, should I go for Mavic 2 pro or the Air 2 S. I prefer the mavic 2 pro purely because it seems to be more stable in the air. What are your thoughts? I am not loaded so I want to buy one and stay with it. The smaller Mini ones are not stable in windy conditions and I don't like that. Please advise.
If you can afford it Mavic 3 💪
If not A2s, any wind where I can Fly mavic 2, I can also fly A2s💪
@@xavier_arthur thanks ever so much for taking the time to respond. I am going for air 2s with smart controller or should I go with the normal controller? Thanks again. All of you drone bloggers are doing an amazing job for us newbies. We’ll never reach your heights (pardon the pun), yet you don’t look down on us. You guys are so generous with your help and advice. Thanks.
Not sure why the fly app won't finish it in 4k. It seems like dji could manage that. Great video I have learned alot from your videos. Question how do delete the waypoints you have saved?
Great video, and a great personality! One of my favorite UA-camr's! I just got this amazing piece of technology, and I didn't even know it had this feature! Thank's for the easy to follow explanation!
Hi X. Fantastic tutorial. I know it is an old video, but there is something new in Fly app that I am not finding anywhere. I am not able to use Reverse Sequence on Hyperlapse Waypoints any more. Now it is showing Selfie as option. Am I doing something wrong? What is this Selfie option for?
Great video. While I'm not a Hyperlapse "expert," I am a professional photographer and understand and totally agree with you on the use of the ND filters and your end product proves your point. Good job!
This is awesome, I’m gonna try this real soon! Thank you for putting out this video!
Cool 😎
Please keep me posted 🙏
This is awesome. All I have is an Air 2. I was going to try your settings, but just use an ND8 since I have a smaller sensor. That's just me guessing. I could be totally wrong, but that's the plan. If anyone has a better idea I am all eyes and ears.
Beautifull. But, Why did you use an ND filter?
To give it that Dark Dramatic effect 💪
You don't need a filter if you want a cleaner look!
Happy Flying 😎
@@xavier_arthur Thank you !!! Personally, I would have lowered the ISO to get less noise, but I don't know if the effect would have been the same.
Very cool!!! Please do the video on the 4K where you edit in post on the computer. Another great video. Thank you!
What strobe mount is that?
I want to get an arcV and mount it on the top with a removable strap like it appears you have.. not a big fan of tbe idea of sticking that velcro sticker thing ontop
Awesome tutorial bro! I liked it so much I had to subscribe to your Chanel. Can’t wait to try this out.
Hello, Xfactor. Thx for the ND info. Trying to create hyper lapse similar to this video, any other pointers?
Great video easy to understand 👍 👌 😀 unfortunately here in Australia it's not legal to file a drone at night unless you have a pilots licence, to edit 4k video what computer power would you need, like amount of ram etc.. is it better to use a gaming computer, 🤔 any suggestions would be great, thanks 😊 👍
Hey brother great video!! Im going to take the air2s over to the jersey shore board walk tonight and hyperlaps the carnival rides. They have a killer tall and bright ferris wheel that I think or hope will have / provide more streaks then my kids fruit of looms after a long car ride.. I was planning on the ND32. What would you recommend for slower moving stuff like that. I have the free well kit with ND4,8,16,32,64,1000 AND 2000. WHAT WOULD YA RECOMMEND?? THANKS AGAIN FOR THE GREAT VIDEOS
Just discovered your channel today. Love your stuff.
I now need to see if my DJI Mini 2 can do this...I love it. Thanks for your insight. I do have a question. I noticed that at the beginning of the hyperlapse the footage was sort of 'bouncy', can this be smoothed out in post? I seen it where the footage and be run through 'something' two and three times to smooth out the jitters.
That's awesome! I really enjoy it. I'm actually a little nervous. The battery quickly drained from 84% to 26% in 7 minutes?
That's record speed 🤔
Why????
@@xavier_arthur At 10:35 on the right top shows flight time only 5 min. 21 sec. battery level has already dropped to 23%. Maybe I am wrong, but you have safe flight and great shots ^_^
Yeah, I was on pins and needles watching the battery drop during the hyperlapse. Obviously, @droneXfactor knew he could make it because he's done the shot before, but it still seemed like a close call. Any idea if the drone would just abandon the hyperlapse at some point and return home, or would it complete it and potentially have to pull an emergency landing?
Great video! And did you capture a UFO on the nd32 vid? Kinda strange light in the sky...
You are right about the gas guzzling. My first few flights with the 2S were very close calls. I was relying on my experience with the AIr 2 and coming back and almost not making it..
Very nice planning. The only thing I don't understand is raising up the ISO so high and using a strong ND filter. The length of the exposure is going to give you the streaked headlights so 2 seconds, 3 seconds or whatever. You can get there the same way using ISO 100 and a less strong ND filter. I found personally I get about 1/2 second exposures at ISO 100 without really blowing out highlights at night so to get to 2 seconds you'd need a 2 stop ND filter. Something not discussed but perhaps to keep it simple are weather conditions, most notably wind can really make using these long exposures impossible. In a light wind I find 1/5 sec is about what I can get away with but on a really still night you can push to 2 seconds sometimes.
Thank you so much for this video my friend! I love this and you are a dope person.
Thanks 😊 Andres
I'm barely exposed to photography but as soon as he mentioned using the filter at night with the long exposure I knew he was going for the streaks🤤
You provide a lot of useful information in this 20 minute video, including various settings to adjust for different filters, etc. You're also a great teacher and I hope you continue to keep it up, because you're engaging, detailed, and well spoken.
I would like to make a suggestion to you as a filmmaker that could take your videos to the _next level_ in terms of being a resource for people to reference and share. At various points, including at 17:47, you say, _"if you guys want to know how to [something you've found important enough to mention a watcher would want to know]"_..._"hit me up in the comments."_ I would suggest that for anything you find that important or helpful to mention, include it in your video notes. If it's a video you've already created, just link to it. If it's something you haven't created but is helpful (like the settings mentioned above), instead of saying to hit you up in the comments, say, "I'll list them in the video notes below." I see that for this example you actually pinned it as a comment at the top, which is probably just as useful. Thanks!
Yoo love the vid bro loads of info.. keep up the good work .. drop those filter settings
Question. What light do you have on the drone? I'm going to Mexico soon and it's extremely dark out there and I wanted to get some sort of led light for it.
Would you recommend using a filter for fireworks as well, or is this a whole different animal?
Awesome tutorial!! Thanks, I'll be following!
Very inspiring, thank you for putting this together! I do agree with some of the ND/ISO noise comments, but at the end of the day whatever produces good results is fair game.
Hi, this has really helped)) I invested in litchi but haven't tried yet on my air 2s.
Please can you send me those ND filter settings. Great video.
Thank you
Super job my friend. Looks really nice 👍🏻
