    I was there for that game absolutley brilliant still remember the feeling of a good european cup tie under the lights waking down the high road both before and after the game happy memories.

    When football kits were football kits. No Nike shite. And teams wore their first team strips when there was no colour clash.

      . . .and old people in those days complained about long haired footballers who kissed each other when they scored and weren't 'real men' like the players from the '40s. This sort of longing for the past has always gone on.

    There was just something so unique about this old sport that nowadays, even if athletes may be more professional and skillful than before, can never match the uniqueness of classic football/soccer.

    An Alan Mullery goal in the second leg gave Spurs a 1-1 draw at the San Siro and Tottenham progressed to the Final, where they beat Wolverhampton Wanderers over two legs.

      Absolutely agree, two players for the price of one. Great positional sense, football brain, tacking, and then once going forward.. passing, vision, shooting and tireless. From a WHU fan. Steve was class.

      I lived within a mile of the ground and the roar was fantastic. The best was when we beat the mighty Leeds to stay up in '74.

    To William Gunnaway: hey guy, Italy won 4 world cups and two times lost the final. Moreover we were world champions on the stop by war, and on 1950 ten national team players died on crush plane. Perhaps we would have won more.

      Yes. He was his father, goalkeeper too. He won Champions League in 1969 against Ajax.

    Did a red card not mean instant disqualification back then? There seemed to be a lot of confusion about it. Sogliano didnt seem to see what color the card was...

    Really, it was a beautiful match. Nevertheless, that fat man in black ruined it a lot with his red card. The yellow was enough.

    Call me biased but I love how the ref APPLIED THE RULES and gve the guy a red card. Should always be the same but today refs are scared to do it.

    Milan....dirty lot....I remember when Dundee played them in the '62-63 European Cup Semis. The first leg was rigged and in the return tie, they kicked and spat on Gillie, until he retaliated and was sent off.
