For this week’s Tutorial Tidbit Barb and I are here in my home town of Sacramento playing with Wet Strength Tissue Paper which has been all the rage in the UK for quite some time. NOW you can get it here in the US without having to pay huge shipping fees. Joggles stocks it and today we put it to the test to show you just how well it stands up to water but retains the properties we all love about tissue paper. It will take me a thousand years to get through the huge box of Carnival tissue I purchased. It's good to know that if I ever run out I don't have to buy the giant box again -- I can order it from you. Making collage paper with wet tissue paper is one of my favorite things to do. The designs I get are truly one of a kind and unique.

Amsterdam Bronze: I had that SAME THOUGHT when I bought mine. Then I decided it must be brand new, polished bronze .... or something. This was great fun, thanks for the techniques. You ladies are the bomb! ❤

Used this technique 15 years ago in uni stitched with a sewing machine and made cotsets if you p v a glue it you can use it like fabric ❤

I like that a lot. I’m trying to work only with certain paper deficiently will be getting some today I’m on spring break next weeek and looking forward to gel printing when I have the hr of energy to work.

Thanks, girls, for this beautiful video, I love the colours and technique. We have Carnival tissue here in the UK. I believe it is made here, wet strength, is it the same paper that you used? I believe it is used for the Notting Hill Carnival in London. I was thinking wouldn't it be cool to make fabric out of the design? I'd wear a blouse in one of the bright colours. If you had the now how to transfer it to fabric that is, shirts would also look good in those patterns cushion covers etc. The possibilities are endless. Anyway, a great video, thanks for sharing, and I'll check out the Art Alcamy paints and see if they are available here. Keep the videos coming they brighten my day, love to both of you very talented beautiful ladies, peace, love and happiness always, Dot xxx.

You can transfer images to fabric through commercial digital printing :)
Is there a big difference in the wet strength vs deli paper? Can't wait to start playing!
Yes, this is just like regular tissue paper in all of its properties. Deli paper is shiny, not absorbent, and a different texture altogether. Just think of this wet strength, tissue paper as feeling and reacting to painting exactly exactly the same way as regular tissue, but without the fragility.

Which of those is the tissue paper used to wrap gifts?

@@ElizabethStHilaire I think she’s asking if tissue paper that you put in gift bags etc can be used for the stronger tissue paper you are using.
@@Dotalina33 I am showing in the video a compare and contrast with regular tissue and the sweet strength tissue. So I am not sure the question? I show both.

The tissue normally used to wrap gifts is the fragile paper that tears easily , not the wet strength tissue.
