I love these. I have had a dry spell painting for the last three years, but these collage videos are pumping up the old mojo again. Thanks for the inspiration. Time to order some tissue paper. 😊
Dry spells are hard. I'm glad you're feeling inspired. Tissue paper collage papers are fun and low-stress, at least when the artist is comfortable with not knowing exactly how it will turn out. But the beauty of that is also that there are no mistakes. Just experimentation, learning, the opportunity to get into flow, and the anticipation of seeing the results as well as using them in collage. I find tissue paper-painting sessions wonderfully therapeutic.
I kept going with the tissue-paper theme this week, so there will be another video with them tomorrow, including some using the gel plate. 😄 So much fun!
Hello, thank you for the video it’s great, can you tell me please the name of the Brush ( after 04:03 minutes ) and the size and maybe where did you order it ? I really wanna have that amazing brush 😊🙏 Thank you for your answer. Best regards Ole
This is a Simply Simmons XL size 50 filbert. I've included a link to it on the Blick Art Materials website (this IS an affiliate link). I'm not sure where else it is available if Blick doesn't work for you, but I'm sure it must be. I LOVE this brush! It's soft, does not shed, and holds up to the abuse I put it through. shareasale.com/m-pr.cfm?merchantid=30103&userid=3476769&productid=1257447914&afftrack=
I did, but can no longer find it in stock. I do find most cheap white tissue paper works well for the way I typically use it, but I know the way she's doing the botanicals is a bit different. I'm looking forward to learning more from her, too. 😊
I use regular and wet strength tissue paper. I can no longer get my favorite type of regular tissue paper but have found just about any inexpensive gift wrap tissue works fine. I only recently started using wet strength and so far don't care much for it, at least not the brand I have.
Good to know. I'm not liking wet strength much yet. Except for basically soaking it in ink and water. I'm finding it is almost as fragile as regular and tears far too easily when I use it. Maybe it's more the brand than the product.
Not usually. I mostly use plain inexpensive tissue made for wrapping. I only recently started using wet strength, and find I prefer it for only a few things. I try to always say if I'm using wet strength instead of regular.

Love this! Am taking Marabeth’s Layered Botanicals class and love painting tissue paper! Do you have a favorite brand of tissue paper?

Your work is beautiful , please what kind of Paper you use ? Greetings from Germany 😊
Look up Carnival wet strength tissue paper. It is a UK based company, but it ships worldwide. It is the only tissue paper I use for all my artwork.
Thank you for your Tipp so fast !
