For this week’s Tidbit This week Barb from @joggles I are back together in Sacramento. We are messing with Princeton Catalyst Wedges, a series of tools that has been around for a while, I love using them to scrape paint on the gel plate and on the canvas. These tools are not new, but they are NOW STOCKED BY JOGGLES which is wonderful because you can add them to your order! The neat thing about scraping lines and patterns is that you get to control the pattern; how thick, how thin, wiggly, straight, light dark… it’s up to you! I will use them on the Gel Plate in conjunction with my Georgia O'Keeffe collection mask and Barb will use them on panel cards with foam stamps. I am sold i ordered all of them today That is a passionate tool.
I just love them for many applications! I paint with the straight and angled edge ones all the time, they are so flexible. I use the scraper ones on the gel plate and directly on paper! you will love them.

She did not move to Sacramento, but she comes here to film videos with me, so that it’s a bit easier on my travel schedule, and I can provide many more supplies that we might need

Elizabeth, thanks for sharing all your videos/tutorials! I have a question and figured you are the best person to ask: I don't do acrylic pouring techniques but want to experiment with acrylic paint and silicone drops to try and create some cells on the gel plate. Is it safe to use silicone drops directly on the gel plate? Thanks much!
Hello!! Thanks so much for being here and for reaching out. I have never ever used silicone drops, so I cannot advise. I bet the folks at Gel Press would know better than me, maybe you can contact them?

Hey, good idea, bet they could tell me. 👍 I've never used the drops either but was watching a video showing how they're used to activate cells in pouring and thought it might be a cool experiment on a gel plate, just with a thinner application of paint but don't want to use anything that will ruin the plate. Appreciate your feedback and your courtesy! ☮
@@qso3566 that sounds interesting! No problem in terms of the reply. I don’t know how responsive Gel Press would be, but it’s worth a try. I don’t think any kind of medium really has any chance of ruining the plate, I’ve seen videos where they use everything from oil paints to alcohol inks, best of luck!
