The one, probably not. I would look at larger and much more expensive rotary lasers. BUT, this is an inexpensive tion that would work within the range with the included detector. Will an excavation company use this, no, but would a smaller shop, yes. Just trying to answer you the best I can.

Hey, thank you very much for your reply. Yes, I am not a shop or the like. I have heavy equipment and have been relying on borrowing and renting transits to get the jobs done. I really need to get my own transit for leveling house pads etc. The ones i've always used have some sort of bubble system to get it leveled. But its 2024 and I think there must be one that self levels. I also run dewalt 20/60 volt everything so dewalt 20v would be good for me. Any suggestions?

@gusplaer for what you are doing and to keep you on a budget, look at spectra. If you want to stay with Dewalt, they have 2,000 feet rotary lasers but they can be pricey. If you stay away from the models that can do slopes, they can be more reasonable. Those will all be a horizontal line. If you need vertical also, get this model in the video and try it. It has a 30 day money back guarantee and you will know if it will work. You only have 300 feet with the detector, so for outdoor use that might be short.
