Jason is just an absolute beast. Hearing him shout “MF DIE” is the most intimidating, coolest and funniest thing ever
James is one of the most imposing frontmen in music. Just look at his stance, guitar work and command of the crowd. He’s one of a kind. Thanks to reacting to this!!!
Commanding the stage!
I agree! James has a powerful stage presence and that means alot.
James owns the stage. Period.
He's mid
James stands there like some Norse God
Jason Newstead (the bassist) reeling his head back and shaking his fist, waiting to slam in to the bridge after the solo will forever be embedded in my brain
same
Jason was the fire in Metallica!!!
Jason was definitely the attitude of Metallica!!
God that riff after the solo is just so powerful and amazing
It’s so barbaric!
...and it came from a 16yr old Kirk! lol \m/ Fucking crazy!
gives me chills evereytime i hear Jason's voice
Jason was the man
Jason's hair was the fifth member of Metallica 😅😂
Jason was the fire in Metallica!!!
@@dagony7383 he really was. Amazing backing vocals , crazy energy and enthusiasm 🔥🔥🔥🎸🎸🎸
dude, when Jason is doing background vocals on that chorus and screams MF'er DIE!! its goosebumps every time. Now i'm ready to hit the gym.
This is the best performance I've ever seen by Metallica. Everything just lined up perfectly and each band member became unified and matched each other's energy. The enormous crowd undoubtedly created an atmosphere of adrenaline and you can really see it in James' incredible vocal and guitar delivery. He was absolutely feeling it and became very animated! They freaking killed it!!! I Love it!!!
From an energy and get you going point... it's the best performance by any band EVER. just ript it!!
Late 80s to early 2000s was peak Metallica live. I think not only were they dialed in but Jason was a monster live. He was the soul of Metallica.
ONLY AN IDIOT WOULD COMPLAIN ABOUT LARS DRUMMING HE ABSOLUTELY CRUSHES THIS💯💪🔥🚒 🥁🥁
Metallica live, especially on the older songs like these are super intense and never fails to reignite that love for them over and over.
I have seen Metallica 17x's it is always high energy. Especially the 80's and 90's concerts.
I went to many Metallica concerts during this time period, when they were at the peak of their careers, and this sone was always one of the best parts of those concerts. Being in the crowd and getting to the point where everyone is chanting “DIE DIE DIE” is just so surreal.
James was much younger in the Studio version. The studio version is their 2nd studio album... then came Master of Puppets, then And Justice For All, then Black Album (Enter Sandman) so by the time of this concert he had a lot more experience and was also older...
Metallica are Gods of Rock🔥🔥🙌🔥🔥😈
9:19 Looks like you havn't seen the 1989 Seattle concert, that was energy
Love the reaction!, I’ve listened to this song probably 100 times and still always get chills down my spine from the Crowd And The Music
There was a local radio show in LA a year later that asked James what it was like to play at a show like that. His response was imagine walking out if a shower into a curtain of electricity! 😳🤘🤘
James down pick is so fast the camera can't pick it up quick enough here, it's crazy. It's actually a blur in a few frames.
This was basically a Woodstock for Russia. It was a free concert. And while they expected a lot of people. They most definitely didn't expect over 1.6 million people to show up. Also I've heard stories about this concert from people who were there. While other bands were more well known in Russia, none of them controlled the crowd like Metallica did.
FREE? Socialism, man!
This song and this video its the reason that Metallica its one of my favorite bands
Oh yes, hell yeah! 🤘
Check out Pantera Domination live at the same show in Moscow amazing!!!
You guys need to react to Pantera Domination from this same concert. Pure adrenaline 🤘
Metal group, PANTERA also played there with Metallica, and they also put a kick ass performance on. If you love guitar solos, which I know you do, Dime Bag Darrell is a phenom on the guitar. God rest his soul in heaven right now.
Definitely, you have to check out the song DOMINATION.
Pantera will be a great addition to your channel.
Cool! We'll look at adding them!
@@barsandbarbells2022 Pantera has a whole slew of songs that others have reacted to, and they love them. Domination just happens to be a reaction at this particular concert in Moscow. If you decide to do Pantera, I would do the studio version of Domination first then of course the live version. Thanks for your consideration.
@@barsandbarbells2022 y'all gotta do Domination by Pantera, this guy had the right idea.
Best live band ever 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘….period
I've been to numerous Metallica concerts, mostly Seattle, and Creeping death and everyone yelling DIE, DIE, DIE, is so awesome and straight up fucking metal !!!
Love this version because of Jason. They dissed ihm many years but this was just great 👍🏻
Kirk Hammett, one of my favorite guitar players ever. Metallica, GOATS of Metal. Still kicking ass and taking names to this day.
Freakin' masterpiece.
Greetings from New England..I came across your channel searching for new Metallica reactions and I really enjoyed seeing you guys gets drawn into this song and performance..I'm subbed 🧐✌️🤘
The Harvester of Sorrow song from this concert is my favorite, it shows the craziness between the Russian army and the people
I love the random things James says throughout the song. Too funny. 😂😂
One of the best live performances I've ever seen. Harvester of Sorrow was also fire asf. Metallica one of the best live bands ever. Pantera was there too and you should do them......Domination live in Moscow. See Dimebag Darryll perform one of the great solos ever.
Just got back from this concert, 3rd row. Great show!
😂
A wild concert try domination live by Pantera Same concert!
Now you got it!!!! 🔥🤘🏼🔥🤘🏼🔥🤘🏼🔥🤘🏼
Introduction to Bible Lit at it's best! I doubt the story of the Passover could ever be more concise and exemplified, even from the point of view of the angle of death no less. Leave it to Metallica to accomplish such a feat. Loved your reactions to the telling of this epic tale's theater and live performance! []:-)
See if they let us listen to Metallica in private school, it would have been more interesting.😂🎸🎤🥁🙄
Awesome! U should check out Pantera domination live in Moscow. Its from the same show but earlier in the day. It's in black and white but its a great performance too!!
Pantera Domination, would be a great reaction, also from this same concert. Monsters Of Rock.
You must react to pantera domination. From the same concert.
This concert also had AC/DC, Pantera, The Black Crowes, and E.S.T. at the Tushino Airfield in Moscow, just after the collapse of the Soviet Union. During the Soviet Union there was a general ban of both albums and concerts from the west, so Russians only had black market or bootleg albums. So this was the first time most of them had ever seen anything like this.
Monsters of Rock awesome 😮
This was 3 months BEFORE the collapse.
That's 1 million people shouting die omg imagine hearing that you'd hear it miles away total goes bumps be like going to war in roman days 😂😂🤘🤘🤘 I've been there in 93 at a metallica gig 70'000 that was loud but that is just amazing 👏 👌
For sure Metallica would have been their favorite no matter who else played at this concert.
I saw them in 88 and 89 general admission, they melted my face. 🫠
Hetfield is the rarest of lead singers... it's almost like he's backwards. He's sounding better the older he gets, and he ALWAYS sounds better live.
Great reaction ,time for some Pantera! Domination , live same concert in Moscow. RIP Abbot brothers
Another good live song
1985 Day on the Green
For whom the bell tolls
With the late Cliff Burton
Doing a double bass solo to open the song
I always like to think when the Russian people were chanting die they were saying death to communism
OPETH - Ghost of Perdition (LIVE AT RED ROCKS AMPHITHEATER). This band is a Progressive Metal band and most probably the best one. Please react to this masterpiece...it will surprise you.!!
How's that for energy guys they never disappoint live seen them 8 times incredible
The best video from that entire show is Pantera’s Domination!! Dimebag’s solo is epic!!!
Should do Metallica's live version of My Friend Misery from Melbourne, Australia. How James' gets the crowd to react is amazing! Awesome reaction btw!
The greatest metal show of all time
Such a feeling
I watched the whole concert live on TV
It was called Moscow Music Peace Festival and there were A Lot of bands there. I wasn’t into Metallica then but really appreciate this now. This is my fave song off RTL
This is from Monsters Of Rock festival at the Tushino airfield on Sep 28 in 1991.
@@TheVargen1971 wow. Looks the same. Thanks for the correction 👍
I read somewhere on line...(it's been 4-5 years ago} that 1.6 million was where they stopped counting. It said that more kept pouring into Tushino Airfield, with a final estimated 2.3 million attending.
AC/DC. Metallica , The Black Crows and Pantera played this show. Check out Pantera "Domination" live at the same show. Incredible
I'm a little late to the game but loving the reactions! I would LOVE to see yiu guys do Hit The Lights. It's their first song and it just showed the world what was coming to the music industry!! 🤟😎
You should watch Seattle 89 Live, you can feel the energy Soooo much. That concert is Epic!
Check a band called The Warning. Three sisters from Mexico who do old school rock. Great songs include: Evolve, Animosity, Choke, More, Dust to Dust. Amazing band.
Yes please !!!
My favorite Metallica's song. Even better live 🙏🤘😁
That concert was made possible by Russian metal bands Gorky Park and the Scorpions. They wanted to do this as a way to bring America and Russia together in friendship. They invited a lot of American metal bands.
You should check out "Bang!" and "Try to Find Me." by Gorky Park and from The Scorpions, check out "Wind of Change" "Hit Between the Eyes" "No One Like You" "Rock You Like a Hurricane" and "Tease Me, Please Me."
Funny that you mentioned security. The military there (around 29 000 soldiers +/- according to the drummer Lars Ulrich) was supposed to be there to keep the wild crowd in line, and make them behave. But they ended up drinking, partying and rocking out themselfs! If you watch more concert footage from this concert, there are military helicopters hovering just above peoples heads. Lars calls it still today,a surreal experience and a total mindf**k to even watch over again. (Pardon my french) Here is footage included of some of the soldiers that simply doesnt give a F:
Pantera - Cowboys From Hell (Live, Moscow '91) [HD]
Maybe not the best video to showcase the mayhem that was going on. Because the soldiers went onto beating the crap out of the civilians at one point, wich had Jason Newsted and Metallica reacting before Black Crowed came on:
The Black Crowes - Stare It Cold (Live in Moscow 1991) (HD 60fps) This shows perfectly how violent and ruthless the military was, then the next time you saw many of them, they were partying and drinking with the crowd,helmets/hats off. There was no in between with them,it was either or lol.
This one of my favourite Metallica songs where many of the soldiers started losing it in the crowd: Metallica - Harvester Of Sorrow - Live in Moscow, Russia (1991) [Pro-Shot]
I think they started out really aggressive, where even people from the production of this concert had to calm them down through an open mic,and from there on out they just thought "f**k it,lets party with them!". AC/DC came on when the dark had settled at night, and it was just all party vibes all over. One insane concert in every way,and even Brian Johnson adresses it abit. I recommend watching AC/DC close the concert with For Thoose About To Rock (We Salute You) You can use this video: "Monsters in Moscow 1991 Pantera, Met, AC/DC, Black Crowes". Starts at 1:11:36 with Brian saying a few words in front of the performance, good video quality.
Fell like I ran a mile holy cow they pulled that off that's why there the biggest band I world need to check them out playing in ANTARCTICA ONLY BAND TO DO SO kick ass band keep rocking
Yeah, at one point there were like 1.6 million people in the crowd. Some people even died crushed by the mass of people, if I remember correctly.
about 73 people took that "die" chant seriously XD that number is not confirmed but its 1 of the apoximates
You should do some AC DC at River plate.
For perspective on the crowd size, this is like selling out Madison Square Garden, plus the entire population of the state of Wyoming... 3 times over.
That number is based on 1.6 million people, the official headcount, but conservative estimates also include nearly 200,000 gate crashers as well, which are not included in that figure.
The show, if I recall correctly, also included AC/DC, The Black Crows, Pantera, and Electro Shock Therapy.
Nobody ever comments on the lyrics🤔 great song and performance inside and out🤘
8:18 - "Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die!"
10,000 amped up fans inside chanting this in unison, most epic concert going experience of my life!
Megadeath ‘that one time in Argentina’ ……. Tops this for crowd participation and energy. 👍🏼
🤭
this woman is so beautiful...❤️♥️
Metallica and Iron Maiden live are awesome 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Over 50 people died here, but that was the price we had to pay for this God sent rock show!
Y’all should react to PANTERA “domination” from the same concert
Cool reaction 91 was when Metallica really peek for newer fans. Been fan since 84. I was actually getting ready for WAR IN MIDDLE EAST at this time. React to new Metallica CD 72seasons at 60years old still have me at 55 I'm happy they're still making new Music and I'm here to listen to it.
AC/DC were the main band there, that's actually AC/DC's stage they're playing on.
Your point?
Pretty sure everyone played on that stage
@@Blackdog06019 exactly. Not sure how it belongs to one band.
His voice is different cos he was still a kid on the studio version 😄
they played the concert like it was the last time!
They stoped counting at 1.6 it was closer to 2.2mil when they finished their set.
Exactly. I said something similar, nobody knows for sure, how many people REALLY attended. Maybe 0.5mil, maybe 2.5mil. We'll never know it for sure.
James vocals matured by then. He was younger by the time Ride the Lightning came out. That's why you might like his vocals as you hear it in the live concert.
1987 was the bridge
Metallica is godlike. Try Band Pantera Domination from the same concert. I am watchihg both Videos for years and I can not decide witch is better❤
Pantera Domination from this same concert is Lit!
Monster Of Rock Festival at Tushino Airfield on Sep 28, 1991.
This was one of the fewer times I’ve seen Hammet go over a solo without half toning any notes.. very good guitar solo btw..
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥
Harvester Of Sorrow from this show next. Badass. The Russian military is there for security. They were freaking out and were busting some heads and whiskey bottles. Crazy.
If you want another example of amazing crowd energy check out Rush “YYZ” live from Buenos Aries. The crowd goes nuts and actually sings along to an instrumental. Coming from GTA you will recognize YYZ as Pearson Airport and the song reflects its busy chaos. South American groups in Brazil and Argentina are legendary for energy and passion.
Hi, thanks for your reaction to Metallica! 🤟 Don't know if you reacted to slipknot, "Spit it Out" live. One of the best of the best live metal performance! 🤟💪
Damn Jason... Every time
Gotta check out there Seattle 89 set.
Want to see a epic concert of their look up Seattle 1986 . I would love to see your reaction.
Conclusion:
All métal artists of 80's and 90's were🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
9:17 you should watch metallica at seattle in 1989 their most infamous concert ever.Their energy is x10 throught the whole show
Would love to see you all react to Metallica's "One" and "Disposable Heroes", as well as "The thing that should not be" and "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)
Reminds me of that Richard Pryor joke
"Thats alot of MFs waiting on your ass outside."
You should check out their song "Battery LIVE Seattle 1989." You will be blown away trust me.
If you would like to react to an artist you might not have heard of before, I recommend Aesthetic Perfection with the song Gods & Gold. They’ve worked with members of Rammstein, particularly Richard Z Krupse and Till Lindemann
Greatest voice in metal ever
Gotta love it at 4:25 when he called himself out on him fn up!! …..FU(K)😎
Seeing a Metallica show is a workout. I'd be sore a day or so after
