@@MKitchen75 He probably suspected, but he hadn't been diagnosed at that point. He did have a throat infection at Live Aid if memory serves, and was advised not to perform.
2 things to remember. Firstly, his doctor had warned him against singing that day as he was having a problem with his throat. Secondly, this was not a Queen concert, yet, Freddie managed to win the crowd over and get them all to join in. Oh, a third thing. I think it was Elton John was heard to say, can you hear that? Queens sound engineer removed the limiters on the sound system and you got the full blast. 20 minutes of real showmanship. They should have had a couple of hours,
This was much more than just a charity rock concert. It's a historical event! A large portion of the planet's population watched this live and he had all of them in the palm of his hand. The greatest front man in the history of rock and roll!
Totally agree. But Brian May on Guitar doesn't ever get as much credit as he deserves. Goes with each of them...they all complimented each other perfectly when they performed.
Queen's show at Live Aid, in 1985, is considered to this day, 2023, the biggest and best live show performed by a rock band in the world. Fredie forever in our hearts!!!
Elton John was scheduled to play a couple of sets after Queen. When he was backstage with David Bowie and The Who (both were next in the set line up) watching the performance that Freddie and Queen were giving , Elton yelled out "You bastards! You stole the show!" Bowie is also quoted as saying something to the effect of "How the Hell is anybody supposed to follow that?!"
No elaborate lightshow, no dansers, no costume changes. Just four masterful musicians practicing their craft and getting and entire stadium and the world to blow it's top.
Freddie is the top of the top in fact all the band very talented but all the eyes go to Freddie he is a legend nobody cannot do the crowd control as he did one of akind nobody can even be close to his talent and his voice just insane you see how the audience went crazy great reaction 👏 ❤️
You wouldn't get a crowd reacting like that these days, they'd be to business filming it, watching a live concert through a phone, why go if you're not going to get into it & live thr moment, that's how memories are made.
The world will never see groups like this again. Back then you had musicians. They would write their own songs, play their own instruments and a lot of them played multiple instruments. Singing in in harmonies without any electric special effects. Just performing. Today all we have is studio produced background music and a person singing.
Roger Taylor on drums deserves huge credit for his vocals too..the falsetto is him supporting Freddie's vocals. You can hear him take up the slack when Freddie is struggling a little, Hammer to Fall and We are the Champions. Great band mates that knew each other well and could step up to support each other. 👌👌
Years ago, people were always shocked when I informed them that it was Roger who sang the high note in Bohemian Rapsody at the end of the middle section.
of course it helped freddie if his voice started going (i mean the sheer constant power he put out was unbelievable) but roger’s vocals just plainly added that extra oomph and dimension to the songs
Freddie Mercury was also suffering from AIDS when this concert happened. He wasn't full blown, but it was an exceptional effort for him to not only put on the concert, but as Brian May said, he was the one that made that concert what it was. The donations weren't coming in that strongly before Queen took the stage, but because of Freddie, they made their donation goals. Freddie was truly one of a kind and commanded that stage like it was his alone.
This was 85, I don’t think he was diagnosed as HIV+ until either 87 or 89. He did have some vocal issue that night which could have kept him from preforming…. He chose to go on anyway. :)
@@nathanadams4595 he was definitely diagnosed before it's a kind of magic album in 1986 because they had to hide his lesions and he started his beard too cover them. So yes he was definitely suffering from AIDS at that time.
@@nathanadams4595 he was diagnosed with AIDS in 87 but was suffering from symptoms associated with it as early as 82. A simple Google search would tell you that. So while you were correct he wasn't diagnosed until 87, he was suffering for many years prior to include the live aid concert timeframe
@@dangerosa01 I think it's the occasion that makes this one stand out. This is a rushed 20 minute "greatest hits" set (that doesn't even have all of their greatest hits) set in the middle of a multi-band concert and Freddie himself was ill so it wasn't his best vocal performance by any stretch (still amazing though). And yet, they absolutely stole the show. Queen when they were finely tuned and fully prepared were beyond incredible but this performance is still amazing.
Can you imagine what else he would have done if he wasn't stolen from us so early? I get tears in my eyes everytime I watch this performance. He is spectacular. I mean, they all are, but HE is just so special.
Agreed. I get angry when I think of him being gone so young and wonder what was still in his mind when he died. We get unreleased songs once a decade like the recent "Face it alone" but imagine whole albums every couple of years instead? Imagine.
One of the greatest live performances ever. Mercury was absolutely the greatest front-man ever. And no one ever performed better on one of the biggest "stages" in history.
Queen was one of the best bands ever. All 4 members could sing and play their instruments well, and they wrote their own songs. Bryan May was a genius on the guitar. Freddie was the ultimate performer; he was born to be a star.
I love Queen as much as anyone not named Taylor, May, Deacon, or Lambert, but Deacon did NOT sing well. There is a reason that he spent most of a concert nowhere near a microphone.
At this time many thought Queen were in a slump. This wasn’t a Queen audience. They burst onto the most amazing stage possible with “Live Aid”. Queen were back with Sheer Heart Attack. They left us breathless. What a set! We thought we could change the World that day. Some of us have never given up the cause.
This crowd was there for Live Aid over all - not really just Queens fans - they were fans of a variety of artists set to appear - SO the fact that he got the entire crowd worked up to fever pitch like that - and so many knew so many of the words - really the crowd was his INSTRUMENT - he played them like a guitar!
One thing to remember about this concert is that this was NOT just Queen fans. There were a lot of performers and people were there to see them all. And still, Queen stole the show. 🙂
Almost 40 years later and 2 performances are still talked about, Queen and U2. Queen showed why they were at the pinnacle and U2 showed why they were ready to climb that mountain. Both bands made fans that day from people who were not into their music before.
Freddie commanded the stage & he commanded the audience. No one else like him. Queen & U2 were my favorite performances that day - and they still are almost 40 years later!
Getting old isn’t fun but then I think I got to see the genius of Queen and so many incredible bands and I feel for those who missed out. Queen blew everyone away that day. And listening to Freddie Mercury sing was a revelation. Keep going! ❤thanks!
I was at the live aid concert 2 months before my wedding day, I saw Queen 14 times from 1975 onwards, above ai to see two young beautiful people enjoying my music is priceless. Listen to the first three albums, thank you both
The day Freddie and Queen ruled the world ….and this performance will still be shown in a hundred years time , and still be receiving the same adulation from true music fans 👍👌 RIP Freddie 😞
Queen really understood the assignment with this concert - whilst some artists tried to treat it as promotion for their latest music, Queen just played the hits, the songs everyone knew and got the crowd involved as you saw. It pretty much rebooted their career and a year later they came back and played a concert of their own at Wembley. Particularly check out the interplay between Freddie and the crowd before they go into Under Pressure. Iconic. The reason it said 9.48 at the end was because Brian and Freddie came back out on stage a couple of hours later for an encore and performed "Is this the world that we created".
I am SO glad you finally did this! Freddie was born to be a performer with all his energy, flamboyant and silliness and no one could command a crowd like him!
All Queen band members were so cool. Freddie had a degree in design, Roger on drums background was dentistry, Johns Was engineering and Dr Brian May on guitar is an astrophysicist who has worked with NASA. 🇨🇦🖖🏻
He may not be here anymore but what a legacy he left us with his amazing music RIP Freddie you did us proud. Thank you so much for your great reaction love you two so much
Freddie had the crowd in the palm of his hand from the moment he stepped foot on the stage. I watched this live on tv. He and the other guys in the band personified "PERFECTION". One of my biggest, regrets in life, was never seeing them live.
All the Queen fans (millions of us world-wide) knew you would LOVE LOVE LOVE this! The entire band was GENIUS that bright summer day! Unlike other bands, Queen practiced for many days prior to this event. For one thing, they selected only those songs from their HUGE catalog they knew would elicit the response from the audience that they wanted - they shortened some songs, sped up some others so that they would bring their time slot to close right on 20 minutes - there are even tapes of their rehearsal sessions. BRILLIANT PERFORMANCE from the entire band that shows why they were loved around the world at the time and are LEGENDS to this day. This concert still gives me chills each time I see it.
You got that right. They didn't leave anything to chance. This was no accident, right from the start they tuned up their instrument the moment they got on stage. The timing, choreography, song choice was impeccable. I have no idea how many times I watch this, it never gets old.
NO body commanded their fans like Freddie and Queen and no one ever will when the British people follow you they really really love you and this Band was Loved. RIP Freddie you were the first and you are the last Icon no one can follow you. Sheer Genious ❤❤❤❤❤
I never tire of watching this! Can you imagine this level of performance in a 2 hour show? Amazing band with so many diverse styles, they are never boring, and Freddie really connected with his audience. So happy you found the one with the full ending.
Fun Facts: A journalist named Paul Gambaccini who was backstage during Live Aid said that when Queen went onstage/Freddie started singing... it "was like a dog whistle went off: EVERY head of EVERY one backstage turned. They were all thinking 'My God, they're stealing the show!" When Freddie started his Improv with the audience, singing that first "AY-OH"... Brian May has said that the band DIDN'T know that was going to happen! So, when Brian's standing with his back to the audience/Freddie's starts singing "AY-OH", Brian said he was actually thinking: "Ohhh, so we're doing THAT now, are we?!" Not very many people notice that - during "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" - Brian changes guitars THREE times. Freddie did actually have a bad throat infection at-the-time and his doctor didn't even want him to perform... When the set was over, he said it felt like he'd "been gargling with shards of glass". (That's not so fun, actually!) Freddie's then-new boyfriend/common-law husband Jim Hutton, said that when Fred invited him to come to this event with him, ALL Freddie told Jim was that the band was going to perform for some charity event. (Oh Freddie!) AND... Jim had NEVER heard/seen Freddie & the band sing/perform before, AT ALL, EVER. (Jim had apparently been living under a rock... When he/Fred first went out, he had NO idea who Freddie Mercury even was... which is probably why Fred was drawn to him: Fred knew that Jim liked him just for himself, not his fame.) Anyway... when they arrived, poor Jim said "I was GOBSMACKED... I just followed Freddie around like a puppy!"
I never get tired of watching this. I live watching those that had no idea how many people and groups came together to help and Freddy took it by storm. RIP ❤😊

A stunning and unforgettable moment in history. I sat glued to the TV for almost 24 hours during this event in 1985. Up until Queen entered the stage there was little involvement or interactions and appreciations from the 90 000 crowd in Wembley Stadium in London. When they left the stage, the other artists did not want to enter after them - they said, "Who can ever top that". And the fact that Freddie was sick and had little time to rehearse properly before this show says a lot of his capability. Freddie was probably one of the best performers ever. I'm fortunate to have seen Queen live during Freddie's era. In 1984 and 1986 in Sweden. Amazing every time. What happened at 9:48PM was that Freddie and Brian from Queen performed the ballad "Is This The World We Created": ua-cam.com/video/riwDo7_GxjM/v-deo.html
I got to see them at the LA Forum in the early 80s and I remember him singing Another One Bites the Dust as he was sitting on Darth Vader's shoulders. The whole thing was epic but that was mind blowing and so memorable...
Actually, I believe the band rehearsed solidly for a fortnight for this one 20minute spot, to get the thing perfectly honed, including the very tight timings. It was one of the reasons they outshone so many other big names who appeared there, who hadn't bothered much with the preparation, since it was 'only' a charity show. But check it out, perhaps I'm remembering wrongly. I never got to see a concert of theirs, but was lucky enough to meet Freddie and Roger once, just before they started their rise to fame, in 1973 - almost exactly 50 years ago! I used to see them all around - a bunch of very handsome young guys - in Kensington and elsewhere in London in the late 60s/early 70s. I had a bit of a crush on Freddie! He was such a sweetie IRL...

@@papercup2517 I know they rehearsed a lot before this show, but Freddie was not feeling well so they didn't know exactly what to expect that day.
If you haven't seen the movie Bohemian Rhapsody, Rami Malek did an excellent job portraying Freddy, even recreating this concert in great detail. He won an Oscar for his performance. I grew up in the 1960s and 70s, the best era for rock music. I remember when Queen released "A Night at the Opera" in 1975. I was a senior in high school.
The lineup that early evening was Dire Straits, QUEEN, David Bowie. There's a Freddie quote, " What you must understand is that my voice comes from the energy of the audience. The better they are, the better I get." Fans loved that sort of thank you. No one knew at that what life had in store ahead, but at that moment, Queen was catapulted into rock history.
Freddie always made sure the audience was satisfied. He appreciated the fan base, and he gave his all. The whole band did, all were greatly talented in their particular instrument. This is fabulous talent; no need for modern day autotune. No cell phones, the bands connected directly with the crowds. A piece of history which cannot be overlooked, as a special occasion (to use Freddie's word)!!❤
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I said you wouldn't be disappointed🎉 Freddie actually was told by his Doctors to not perform that day cause he had a super Strep Throat but as Freddie always does, he had to do it for his fans. You're 100% correct that the bands to follow them were not happy. They said " THEY JUST STOLEN THE SHOW " 😂 (that rascal Freddie)😅 I ABSOLUTELY LOVED YOUR REACTION ❤😊 RIP FREDDIE MERCURY 11/24/1991 1946-1991 We will always miss you ❤🎤🎸🎶❤🇬🇧
The Greatest 22 minutes in Rock and Roll. I was 11 yrs old and lived in Philadelphia. I remember being so proud that the World was watching London, and Philadelphia.
The amazing thing for me watching this back, (I was 12 when i watched it live), but just remembering this wasn't a Queen or Freddie's audience it was a charity event with lots of acts from around the world ! But by the time they'd finished their bit everybody was a Queen/ Freddie fan even if just for a short time.
OMG, THANK YOU Guys... This absolutely made my morning!! FYI... There is ALSO A QUEEN ENCORE at Live Aid... Freddie Mercury & Brian May had been invited to perform an acoustic ballad later in the evening as part of the closing numbers: "IS THIS THE WORLD WE CREATED?" ...This was what was about to appear at the end, at 9:48 p.m... This (AWESOME) video from Mundo do Rock used to have the encore included at the end, but then the "UA-cam gods" started blocking the encore... so they just cut it off so their video wouldn't be blocked by YT anymore. The video for the encore is now on the official Live Aid YT channel. (HINT!)
Great reaction! A buddy of mine flew overseas to see the performance (he was technically working as part of a stage and sound crew) and he said Queen's performance was the show. He felt like some of the other acts kind of mailed in their performances or didn't expend much energy on their shows, but then Queen came out and blew the doors off of Wembley. I don't remember who was slated to follow them, but my friend told they really didn't want to go on because no performance was going to match up to what Mercury and Company had just given the audience. Freddie had been advised not to perform as his throat was sore and had been bothering him, but you saw how much attention he paid to doctor's orders. Freddie seemed to live for performing and he did it so well. And, obviously, no what what bands people had come to see, it seemed that when Freddie was on stage EVERYBODY was there for Queen! I still remember where I was when I got the news the day he died. Queen's music had been such a big part of my life that I was floored and just couldn't function for a while trying to process the news. Just a shame to lose a talent like his. But the ones that burn brightest often burn out fastest, right? I'm still sad.
Mr Performer, rock on in Heaven.Thoroughly engaging and loved by millions. Glad you enjoyed this epic performance with audience participation. He was definitely his own man and a champion of the world! Great reaction and analysis. Stay safe.
5:12 Once upon a time there was a small box that was placed on a nightstand. The device had a Digital display of the current time in big Red numbers. It had a setting to set an Alert at a specific time, it could at the set time emit a LOUD annoying noise for several minutes or it could be set to emit Music. This device was called a Radio Alarm Clock. This song is a Love song to that Ancient Device. We LOVE you Radio.
What a performance by Queen 👑 only seen them live on TV and MTV they showed this concert live as it was happening yay, good review by u guys yeah 🤘😆🤘🎸🎸🎤🥁
Oh thank God you chose the right video, one that didn't cut the end off! They did come back on for a final song at the end of the concert, which was that little snippet you were wondering about, "Is This The World We Created" but there is a separate video for that if you're interested - a lovely little song well worth watching. Thanks so much for a great reaction.
This was the most amazing day of live music. Almost back-to-back we had Status Quo, Spandau Ballet, Elvis Costello, Sade, Sting and Phil Collins, Bryan Ferry, Paul Young and Alison Moyet, U2, Dire Straits, Queen, The Who, Elton John, and Paul McCartney. All in one line-up one after the other. It was epic. And pity David Bowie who went on straight after Queen and who just said "You bastards!" as they passed him waiting to go on stage. I put the commitment of the audience down to no mobile phones. They were just living in the moment, whereas now they would be intent on videoing it rather than participating.
Yes he was one of the most creative talented entertainers of or time he demanded the stage and got it. He loved his fans and didn't forget where he came from. It was a great los to a generation of music lovers all over the world . Tragic he was taken from us under those circumstances.
I have heard it said that during their set, all of the other artists back stage stopped what they were doing, turned to the tv and made comments about how Queen was "stealing the show." I don't know what time of night this took place but I do know that they chose that time slot because it would be seen by whoever was watching it around the world
Right at the end of that video, when the screen showed 9:48pm, Freddie (vocals)and Brian (guitar) re-appeared to sing "Is this the world we created". Few of the Queen clips from that day include that song, but it's well worth checking out, it's a very poignant song which fitted in perfectly with the sentiment of the day, to help the starving people of Africa.
I remember this so well, I worked literally a stones throw from Wembley stadium (across the road) & could feel the atmosphere even from the outside throughout the whole event, But as soon as Queen came on it shot up to another level, Hearing Queen & the crowd singing along brought tears to my eyes, I was already a Queen fan from their early years so this was my best day at work ever!.
Of course, it helps to have a half dozen of the most epic rock anthems to roll out for just such an occasion. Queen sometimes wrote specifically for this audience participation and seemed like whenever they did, it became a hit. On the one hand, they seem like real simple as songs. On the other hand, the pieces are all excellent, the vibe caught the audience, AND, you had Freddie showing why what's on paper is just a launch pad..
One of the greatest musicians of all time. He had the crowds in his hands, total control all the whole time. So much charisma and passion and the undiniable talent. Freddie is is truly one of the greatest of all times, one we will never forget.

Great video! For me, Queen is the GOAT! Got to see them live in 1978. Best concert ever and I've seen pretty much everyone back then. I laughed when you said Freddie didn't actually drink while performing. At this performance his doctor told him not to perform. He said his voice couldn't take it. Freddie downed a few shots of ice cold vodka and hit the stage. I don't think you will find more rabid fans than us "Queenies" and more join our ranks every day. Keep the Queen reviews coming. I'll be watching *peace*✌

Exactly. Too little air time for Roger.
Years ago, people were always shocked when I informed them that it was Roger who sang the high note in Bohemian Rapsody at the end of the middle section.
@@sirfriendzone1228the Galileo part
of course it helped freddie if his voice started going (i mean the sheer constant power he put out was unbelievable) but roger’s vocals just plainly added that extra oomph and dimension to the songs
He's one excellent vocalist as well as a master drummer 🏆
Four guys together that were absolute perfection .
@@nathanadams4595 diagnosed and suffering from are two different things. You have to remember. They didn't know much about the aids virus in 85 yet
You guys just watched the Best live performance of all time!!! Nobody can beat queen and Freddie’s voice!!
It´s not even Queen´s best live performance. They have better ones.
no. This queen concert is overrated. I'm a queen fan. There are a lot of better queen concerts. This is not even in the top 20 queen concert
I got to see queen when I was young , my dad took me to one of there concerts
@@dangerosa01 I think it's the occasion that makes this one stand out. This is a rushed 20 minute "greatest hits" set (that doesn't even have all of their greatest hits) set in the middle of a multi-band concert and Freddie himself was ill so it wasn't his best vocal performance by any stretch (still amazing though). And yet, they absolutely stole the show. Queen when they were finely tuned and fully prepared were beyond incredible but this performance is still amazing.
As far as I'm concerned, the 12th July 1986 concert at Wembly is the best. You can find full version of it here on UA-cam too.
Freddie could hold 100,000 people in the palm of his hand and take them on a journey into sheer joy. We may never see his like again.
Imagine.
aye but what a legacy, he's immortalised
Despite how he went I think he died happy Freddie lived life to fullest.
Me too. I can't help crying watching this. I will never stop missing Freddie Mercury
I can't help but tear up 😢
One of the greatest live performances ever. Mercury was absolutely the greatest front-man ever. And no one ever performed better on one of the biggest "stages" in history.
The world truly misses Freddie...R.I.P. Brother....
Taken too soon such a loss
Queen is not just any rock group; They are top musicians, each one of them.
Some of us have never given up the cause.
and 6 years later, he was dead. AIDS was/is a horrible devastating disease.
RIP Freddie
Dr Sebi cured it in tha mid 80s can u guess who shut it down .... Fauci Ouchie
Even worse, months after his death the first ativiral HIV drugs came out. ☹
@@nem447yeah, he was that close to possibly still being here. It’s a real shame his health couldn’t hold on till then
And yet he contributed mightily to the research via this show, LIVE AID. ❤
I am still thinking that freddy's dead gave the science community the real kick into the nuts to find finally a cure against HIV.
Not all were Queen fans going in but I'm pretty sure they were when they left.
When he steps on that stage the magic starts
❤
In 2085 people will still marvel at a genius at work.
I dont think there will ever be another singer as powerful as freddie was.. he was just a talent RIP Freddie.. you are missed
One thing to remember about this concert is that this was NOT just Queen fans. There were a lot of performers and people were there to see them all. And still, Queen stole the show. 🙂
All tickets were sold before Queen agreed to do Live Aid
Agreed, not everyone in that audience walked in as Queen fans, but they all left as one.
you have to feel sorry for whoever had to follow them, there was no way they were going to live up to that
Almost 40 years later and 2 performances are still talked about, Queen and U2. Queen showed why they were at the pinnacle and U2 showed why they were ready to climb that mountain. Both bands made fans that day from people who were not into their music before.
@@synaesthesia2010 David Bowie
Freddie had EVERY SINGLE PERSON there in the palm of his hand. Best frontman ever. There will never be another like him.
The only time anyone could feel sorry for David Bowie. He was the act who followed Queen. 🤴🏻⚡️
Bowie was more than up for it … not easy but he managed
Listen to the first three albums, thank you both
That kiss he blew at 3:04 was to his mom, watching at home.
This queen performance went down in history as the best live performance of all time.
Not to mention one of the most underrated guitarists ever, Brian was fire.
All Queen band members were so cool. Freddie had a degree in design, Roger on drums background was dentistry, Johns
Was engineering and Dr Brian May on guitar is an astrophysicist who has worked with NASA. 🇨🇦🖖🏻
No one seems to ever mention Deac. What a great bass player. One of my favorites
Me too👑
Its less of that and more of after Freddie died Deac went away from the spot light and kinda faded into history so to speak
@@coolcats682 his last performance was the Tribute concert for Freddie after which he said "that's me done, without Freddie there's no Queen"
My top three bass players of all time are Gene Simmons of KISS, John Deacon and John Entwhistle of The Who

🙏
Look for Green Day's concert in Hyde Park - Bohemian Rhapsody.
I'm not talking about a cover, but I don't want to spoil anything
But he is here. He is carried in the hearts of everyone who ever saw him do this. And he did it all the time. In his own words "we still love you.".
R.I.P Freddie you were an amazing character! I'm 70 now and I know there will never be another Freddie Mercury.
Fun Facts:
A journalist named Paul Gambaccini who was backstage during Live Aid said that when Queen went onstage/Freddie started singing... it "was like a dog whistle went off: EVERY head of EVERY one backstage turned. They were all thinking 'My God, they're stealing the show!"
When Freddie started his Improv with the audience, singing that first "AY-OH"... Brian May has said that the band DIDN'T know that was going to happen! So, when Brian's standing with his back to the audience/Freddie's starts singing "AY-OH", Brian said he was actually thinking: "Ohhh, so we're doing THAT now, are we?!"
Not very many people notice that - during "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" - Brian changes guitars THREE times.
Freddie did actually have a bad throat infection at-the-time and his doctor didn't even want him to perform... When the set was over, he said it felt like he'd "been gargling with shards of glass". (That's not so fun, actually!)
Freddie's then-new boyfriend/common-law husband Jim Hutton, said that when Fred invited him to come to this event with him, ALL Freddie told Jim was that the band was going to perform for some charity event.
What happened at 9:48PM was that Freddie and Brian from Queen performed the ballad "Is This The World We Created": ua-cam.com/video/riwDo7_GxjM/v-deo.html
me too
I got to see them at the LA Forum in the early 80s and I remember him singing Another One Bites the Dust as he was sitting on Darth Vader's shoulders.
Their encore is shamefully under the radar.
That was an amazing film. The Live Aid scene at the end was spectacular
Quite honestly the most iconic Live performance in history.
I was there, best day in my life. And Queen is the Best Band Ever. PERIOD !!!!
They said " THEY JUST STOLEN THE SHOW " 😂 (that rascal Freddie)😅 I ABSOLUTELY LOVED YOUR REACTION ❤😊 RIP FREDDIE MERCURY 11/24/1991 1946-1991 We will always miss you ❤🎤🎸🎶❤🇬🇧
How have these 2 gone so long without seeing it ,they should show it in schools , everyone should see this
You guys are the Best✌🏼 Thank you for not interrupting the songs Queen are the GOAT !! Miss you Freddie 🥰👑💛
The Greatest 22 minutes in Rock and Roll. I was 11 yrs old and lived in Philadelphia. I remember being so proud that the World was watching London, and Philadelphia.
Seeing performances like this is the best thing about UA-cam ❤❤❤ Freddie’s quirky little moves make me love him even more.
Freddie Mercury & Brian May had been invited to perform an acoustic ballad later in the evening as part of the closing numbers:
"IS THIS THE WORLD WE CREATED?"
...This was what was about to appear at the end, at 9:48 p.m... This (AWESOME) video from Mundo do Rock used to have the encore included at the end, but then the "UA-cam gods" started blocking the encore... so they just cut it off so their video wouldn't be blocked by YT anymore.
The video for the encore is now on the official Live Aid YT channel. (HINT!)
David Bowie said "How the fuck am I meant to follow that"?
Our pleasure! It was awesome!
This performance was considered then and still today the best live performance ever we miss you Freddie
The Legend himself Freddie Mercury. One of the Greatest vocalist and showman of all time. Still missed today. ❤
Freddie totally stole the show, he was amazing. RIP Freddie you are missed ♥️
Love seeing a pre-cellphone audience who just concentrate on the performance and are in the moment.
I'll second that !
yep, we agree :)
If you look up "legend" you get a picture of Freddie Mercury.
RIP rockstar.
You are sorely missed.
Blimey forgot just how amazing his performance was!! The greatest live performance ever for sure!!! Wow!!
Freddy was the conductor of the audience! Love this performance!❤🎉
Yes he was one of the most creative talented entertainers of or time he demanded the stage and got it. He loved his fans and didn't forget where he came from. It was a great los to a generation of music lovers all over the world . Tragic he was taken from us under those circumstances.
You know you’re great when the whole world is singing with you! You’re just seeing one arena there we’re more
I have heard it said that during their set, all of the other artists back stage stopped what they were doing, turned to the tv and made comments about how Queen was "stealing the show." I don't know what time of night this took place but I do know that they chose that time slot because it would be seen by whoever was watching it around the world
Think it was about 6pm London
@@jamiezaman it was 6:40 exactly. Their manager hung clocks in key spots so they would stay on time. Look at the side stage and you'll see one.
It started at 12pm and Queen came on about 6.45pm
I saw this in a pub with the love of my life, little did I know she was cheating on me. I remember this night, I don’t remember her.
Watching and singing along, there will never be another group like Queen and definitely no Freddie. One of a kind❤❤❤❤❤
He maintained the energy, stole the whole of live aid. In concert absolutely fantastic, very lucky to have seen them live few times
Queen single-handedly won Live Aid. It was insane. All the other bands were great sure, but when Queen came on oh My God!
Don’t forget u2

Great video! For me, Queen is the GOAT! Got to see them live in 1978. Best concert ever and I've seen pretty much everyone back then. I laughed when you said Freddie didn't actually drink while performing. At this performance his doctor told him not to perform. He said his voice couldn't take it. Freddie downed a few shots of ice cold vodka and hit the stage. I don't think you will find more rabid fans than us "Queenies" and more join our ranks every day. Keep the Queen reviews coming. I'll be watching
*peace*✌
That was a moment in time, for sure. RIP Freddie ❤
Yes you freddy and band members queen are champions..

That just has to be the best, most epic 20-25 minutes of live performance by any band ever.....and I'm not a huge Queen fan. Brilliant 😁😁😁🇬🇧
David Bowie, who was a very great friend, was the next artist on. He was like " mate wdf. How can I follow that". That's total respect
