hunter wrote the words, it’s amazing he had the perfect partner to connect them to music, I suppose many guitarists can play near to the vocal, writing guitar to existing lyrics tricky, tho maybe hunter had melodies too, idk?

At the end of the verse holding that G before the D is different but does hold up the tension which is pretty fancy. Sometimes fancy is better, like my mom’s half baked clothing store she had in the 70’s! The store was called “Fancy Pants” and was in Kent, Washington, what an amazingly bad idea that store was, unlike this lesson. Thanks Davey for the lesson, I like how you actually produced the whole song for the lesson.

There is a really neat video of Dead and Company doing a Ripple with 2 acoustics and John pulls that extended guitar line after the chorus and Bobby's face shows how caught off he was by it and it makes you wonder if it was spur of the moment or if John sat on it all day to get him with it, either way it's a beautiful moment.
