Kinda surreal moment, when I first heard this song it was so cool I knew I had to learn how to play it and looked up lessons, this was the first video I found. Since then I've been subscribed and watching your videos. Fast forward I finally get my 1st guitar and come back to it to actually try and learn the song. Thank you in advance davvy for all the dead songs you will teach me through your videos.
This is my favorite dead song. Jerry sings so great on this song every time he plays it. Also it is about Altamont as the title suggests. This was the first song my dad taught me on acoustic which is the best way to play this song for country vibes.
I'm fairly new to the Dead...theyve really helped me through this most recent leg of the pandemic as well as resurrecting my interest in practicing guitar:) so thank you for this! Looking forward to seeing what else ya got!
Awesome lesson. Love your laid back approach.
If you keep pumping out grateful guitar lessons, I’ll be here every week. How about all of the jams off New Speedway biggie!? Subbed!
Thanks for joining the fam! I’ll be doing these dead lessons until I die!
So grateful 2u from the Mountains of Maine. I just spent a little time on the Mowww-tain and I can it's hard to run when your feet are cold!
exactly, we r here to learn this song.... not complain about life bullshit everybody gets..... ur lessons r the bomb, sir :)
Thank you for the lessons! Play Dead for life…….
I f ing love this guy and the stellar instruction. Great job, Davvy! Frankly, I don't know why this is not available on Netflix.
the editing and your vibe kills me😂😂but makes the video enjoyable also just an all around great lesson
Just found you bro. Love learning Dead on the guitar. Thank you so much. Happy new year.
These videos have grown on me so well. Thanks brotha man!
Thanks for being a part of the fam, Marcos!
You’re putting out some great lessons. Clearly demonstrated and coming from the souls. Like that you address the whole song with rhythm and the classic riffs. A lot more COVID sad people are jamming these tunes due to your efforts. How about a general lesson on how you approach the myxo jam? Thanks again and keep truckin’
Like your style brother.

Thanks man! This was useful and fun. Subscribed!
Thanks for joining the fam, Sean!
I was tripping on mushrooms with my dad at a Dead and co show in Colorado and fainted due to altitude sickness during this song.
Damn, homie. Sounds like an intense experience.
Shit happens. Sorry you missed some of the show! That Colorado high country'll nip you in the ass sometimes.
Fun times.
Keyboard player in two Grateful Dead tribute VS Cover bands. But also a guitar player.
Love your channel.
Watched a bunch of these tutorials and you're on the right track for more hits down the line. Ya, sure, Marty and Brian have a different approach, but the stylings here suit the goofy antics of the Dead (i.e. Bozo's and Bolo's). "Keep on keepin' on!" (Sez this nearly fifty something viewer, who only caught one 90's show, but a heap of things post-Jerry) Great Vibe Here. It's not going to take long before others catch on.
This kind of feedback means a whole lot. Thank you, man. Truly.
Love your tutorials Davy. You're funny and easy on the eyes 😚👌🔥 hehe ~Saige
You're the man, Davvy.
You the man, Ryan
Thanks this was very helpful, entertaining edit too :D
Thanks for going the fam, homie,
Would absolutely love to see a separate vid with some fills and embellishment ideas for this one
Love these videos. Such a good time. Can you please break down broke down palace?
Great stuff. As a beginner guitarist, I like the easier songs
Hi I just came to know about your video yesterday but it sounds very good as in the original sound. Just to say that I only play on acoustic and I learnt to play for a while for the last 6 months.
I started liking your version as my ear picks up it like in the original. For me I run some Blues turnarounds and E and E7 very often unlike your version. Anyway, I prefer your Melody fills by playing D string very often inbetween. I hope people who are beginners for this song, would like your play as your version sounds good.
I request you to play next " Sweet Home Chicago" Magic Sam version. Big thumbs up from my end.
Laughed my ass off, good editing.. good info too, I've been murdering this song for many a year.
Thanks, bro bro. Happy you’re in the fam!
love the leason and the way you brake down all of them. how about a master piece leason?
Hey man, love your lessons. Any chance you could do a lesson on jamming to Lovelight? I know the chords are simple. I'm looking for an "easy" song to jam to. Maybe with some beginner'ish ideas. Not trying to copy Jerry lick for lick, but some places to play with?
Dude your awesome haha
HEY! You are awesome. Thanks for watching!
❤
Big fan. Big fan. Best lessons ever. And Grateful Dead - just wonderful. How do you get that fantastic sound?
Ok ok Foundation that one too. I Will work with the sound….
Dig it :)
F~ing hilarious... very nice editing/jokes. Do you solo over this with an E-blues: b3/M3?
Love more UMph! The world needs more wappy face melting UMph!!!
FUUUUUCK YEAH
Please don't dominate the rap jack, if you got nothin' knew to say. Brilliant, thanks for sharing.
Nice stuff. I likes. Do you do lead parts as well?
In the later episodes I’ve started doing little lead examples at the end.
Do Mindbender & King Bee.

Please do a tutorial on Crazy Fingers. Love your shit fam ❤️
Thanks, homie! Crazy Fingers will absolutely be done soon!
Toby & Davvy I’m so stoked. Crazy fingers is such a vibe

I was about to like this video, but then I saw there were 420 likes and I thought between the like and keeping it at 420, they might like to keep it at 420.
What kind of guitar is that?
Please Obi Wan teach us Cassidy!
How about one on the fiddly Jerry parts? I mean riffs.
I find it hard just to hang and vamp on the e chord. Any strumming tips?
What pedals, amp, guitar are you using? The tone is spot on.
A heart but no reply. Come on "Abrafam Linkedin!".
I’m probably using my nomad 55 and the aria pro ii, I can’t see what video this is on so not sure exactly what pedals. Maybe go look at one of the newer Jerry rig vids and you’ll see what I’m working with. Sorry for not getting back, bro
You're funny
1:00-1:33 ✌️🤣👍
Especially 1:21- 1:23 ✌️😏🤙
Thanks for helping to make shit work.
Thanks for the support, bro bro!
Davvy Gravy! Dude. . . I've been listening to the Dead for a couple of decades, but I just started playing guitar when the lockdown hit. I've been futzing around with this tune, the intro especially- next thing I know I'm playing the intro to Miracle! Totally stoked and just wanted to send some good energy your way. I appreciate you.
Man, this is great to read! Way to go! I APPRECIATE YOU!
MOUNTAIN 🏔
Dude my advise. Get into to the lesson sooner. I almost left
