Love how we needed to include the killer Collin Baker quote less than a minute into the Mel compilation
Yeah but that literal quote, "Why? There's nobody to tri anymore!" Giving common sense to Timelords.
It's a high point of 60 years of Doctor Who. And proof that not all the really great speeches were written by Moffat.
Whatever what we thought if Mel back in the day, Russell did an excellent job on her return and she felt so at home in the first few minutes
lol nope, not even a little bit.
@@somethingsomething7205 shut up racist
Part of me hopes we get a story of how Mel met the Doctor. It's weird how every other companion had an introductory adventure besides her.
By that same token, I hope we find out why Ace stopped travelling with the Doctor. That we can, one day, see that specific adventure.
@@Drekal684I thought that was explained in an audiobook
@@ceoofwandaism7380it was explained in one of the new adventure books she actually left him twice but the second time was for good. The books also explain what happened to Mel after she left him as well and they are canon as far as the BBC are concerned but they are really expensive to track down now because they are from the early nineties.
I love Mel, she's so underrated 🥺💗💗
My friend and his accordion band travelled down to Leeds for a television programme called "Junior Showtime" - He came back praising a(very) young girl who was the one person who would talk to him and his band - Bonnie Langford. Always followed her career after that and so glad that she achieved remarkable success on stage and screen. And watched the Mel figure being made at the Dapol factory in Llangollen years later !
Loved the Dapol factory and Dr Who museum in Llangollen. The kids and I had great fun there!
great to see Bonnie Langford back as Mel bush in Doctor Who hope we see again soon not just a one off appearance
good news for you but shh spoilers
Ive met bonnie a few times is lovely meeting her
The quote from Dragonfire literally sounds like it made its way into Series 1 Episode 2, End of the World.
"Danger. Unfiltered Sunlight."
She was always such a screamer!
I've always loved Mel in Doctor Who
I'm so happy that she's back.
Love the way her character is written now way more than how they use to write her
Bonnie is a national treasure, and has proven how great she truly is as Mel through the Big Finish audios and her appearance in 'The Giggle'. I'm really looking forward to seeing her again in the next series.
I genuinely feel like Mel’s writing was on the floor in her original run. She had nowhere to go but up in present day. If the writers want to make her a new Sarah Jane-type, go for it. Adopt that spirit. I’m just glad she’s here.
I felt similarly about Beverly and Troi on Star Trek Picard.
Totally watch Mel adventures 😊
the fact that you can completely tell it’s the same actor even though it’s well over 20 years apart
You open a Best of Mel vid with a clip in which she has three lines??!! Wow.
Thanks for the new podcast.
Old Doctor Who episodes are really iconic
Came to this since Mel is gonna be back next week. I'm glad she's getting some proper screen time.
Maybe we fan get some for Peri next
Mel was a lively lovely girl❤
She is now elegant lady still so lovely❤
I was pretty neutral on Mel when I first discovered her episodes but along came the Giggle and now I adore her
You might want to rethink your title. There's not a lot of Mel in the video.
Thankfully
Things: happens
Mel, in the 80’s: * scream *
It’s why she was hired they wanted someone who could scream like her and she hated it because it’s not what she was expecting to be doing.
I feel Mel worked best with the 6th Doctor, she's a more active presence in the Vervoids and pushes the story forward whilst in s24 and the 60th doesn't have much to do. Plus her bubbly personality brings out a more endearing side to the 6th Doctor, where he's less pompous and loud, rather he's more loveably grumpy.
Good extensive montage
Hey BBC, release 'Torchwood: Absent Friends'
Bonnie Langford, absolved by history. What a world!
Mel was a perfect fit for the sixth doctor, more so than the 7th. You're trying to keep the doctor in shape with exercise and carrot juice was great.
The funny thing is that Bonnie personally can’t stand it which is why if you watch her she never actually drinks any of it she just pretends.
🤩🤩🤩❤adoro Classic doctor❤
Love how years before joining EastEnders, Bonnie Langford got to play Mel on the Walford set in "Dimensions in T-- Oh wait, we're not allowed to talk about that without getting moaned at, are we? I'd better shut up then.
MY QUEEN
Young Mel reminds me of one of Cinderella's step sisters.
🎉🎉🎉
💙💙
Wow that was when she was young but when you see her now shes in her 60s
Doctor Who used to sound pretty posh :P
Gracias 🫂
She looks way better now! that perm was too much
80ies fashion created by TimeLords, cant blame her
Nah that perm was EVERYTHING she pulled it off so well
@@montelhelem8707 maybe , but she is hotter now
Whenever people on the Internet say 'unalive' i can't help imagining them as Kangs...
People think Who is camp now, the early McCoy era was off the scale bonkers 😄
then: AHHHHHHHH
now :
🗿
Now can we have Jamie make a return perhaps?
I like Mel Bush
I always preferred Mel over Ace. With her paired with the 7th Doctor, they made a cute couple.
7th certainly gave Mel a SWINGING time on their first encounter when she thought he was a stranger after he changed from 6th's costume lol
👍
Myth myth myth Mel what do you think?
😮😢
Even the 15th Doctor hates the taste of carrot juice because of her.
Me name is Melanie
Rrrock that talks😅
Whenever ı see mel it reminds me of carrot juice
0:16 looks like Mel is making out with a cheap fursuit

Mel Bush, when first introduced was the worst companion ever. The Worst. Just a really badly written character with no thought at all behind her creation. A real shame cos Bonnie Langford is such a nice person, but when her character was re-introduced it was totally different. It was a pleasure to see Mel again.
Going on like big finish didnt improve her character.
Badly written character and, let's be honest, Bonnie really overacted back then.
@@dlxmarks Overacted? Absolutely! I'm trying to forget those early scream scenes 😉
Bush? lol no.
I wonder if she can still do that scream
She briefly does it when she gets spun around by the toymaker during that music segment
Wait so there was a doctor between tennant and smith?
@brewster_4 Tenant technically regenerated into his hand causing the birth of the metacrisis Doctor. There is also the War Doctor
the war doctor never called himself the doctor so it stays 10, 11 etc and the metacrisis doctor is not an incarnation he's a regeneration so it stays 10, 11 etc again. I think they are talking about incarnations instead of regenerations.@@stevenlord4751
@@stevenlord4751except the war doctor comes before eccelstone.
@@timewyrmrevelations7700 yes I'm talking about the metacrisis doctor
She screams too much lol
Well, I love the reboot, but I think all the dreadful 80s stuff was why it got canned... 😂
Don't get me wrong - I love Bonnie! It was including the creepy Ken Dodd in an episode (even briefly) that doomed the first incarnation...
Not really. The BBC were trying to cancel it for years anyway. Mainly to push out Soap Operas. So any excuse for them would have sufficed.
Ewww what was Thant alien gonna do with its tongue?
Paralysed her.
They are called Tetraps, they have eyes all around their head too.
One of my least favorite. Nice but, all she ever did was scream.....several times per episode. Got old fast.
So. Big finish fixed that.
bold of you to asume that everyone has seen big finish.@@shemdellashemygd29
That was the reason she was hired John Nathan Turner wanted a companion who would scream on cue and she hated it.
Dunno why their bringing her back when Ace was a much better companion typical RTD and his bad decisions
L take
Chris already brung back ace. And in that same episode where they brung ace back they said unit was recruiting people who know how to deal with the monsters first hand (which implies of course, companions) so it makes sense for her to be there.
@@shemdellashemygd29Oh no!
Anyway...
w mel
You open a Best of Mel vid with a clip in which she has three lines??!! Wow.
To be honest, there wasn’t much for them to work with.
