mr. sweet was by no means 'cute' he looked like a living tumor (suppose he was in a way) seeing him made me a tad bit sick. now the adipose on the other hand are adorable and they're relatively harmless

Honestly the meep fooled me
me too , to be fair never read doctor who comics so I didn't know the truth.
My only way of realizing it early was 10 minutes before the reveal when I realized that "the star beast" was singular

The comic story was brilliant - I'm sure that it has been collected into a graphic novel by now. The evil Meep looked far, far creepier in black and white, and the Wrarth warriors were able to remove their limbs, and use them as guns.
The story is basically riffing on the old Doctor Who story, 'Galaxy 4' (1965), where (spoilers), the beautiful Drahvin are evil, and the hideous Rills are the good guys.

I love Doctor Who's aliens. It's hard to put my finger on why, but their is a tangibly different feeling to them, compared to creatures from an American franchise like MIB or Star Wars.
