Story 4 is the exact definition of “this happened to me when I was a kid now look how effed up I am even though I will tell you I am completely not”. I hope the ex does get full custody.

People always say no one eats the wedding cake. I always eat the wedding cake plus more people would eat the cake if they paid for a good cake.

Oohh, Candy feeling spicy today! I can’t imagine spending 25 years of my life with someone, wanting kids but being told no, only for him to turn around when I’m no longer able to have them and say “I want kids now and you can’t have them, so peace!”

Story 4: He told them to play outside after it rained and got pissed they played in the mud…duh. He sat on the couch and watched to for an hour before checking on them. He left them unsupervised for over an hour. Not in todays world. He claims it’s not his fault he fell asleep because he had a few beers. Did someone poor the beer down his throat. He locked his daughter out of the house. This guy takes no accountability for his actions and says it’s the way he was raised. I hope his wife finds his post and gets full custody

I so agree! My question is, why does he want custody of his kids? I understand he loves them, but they were under his care, and as he says he doesn't get to see them as much as he wants. Buddy, having a relationship with your kids is a two-way street. Cherish the time they are with you while they are young so they will want to be around you when you are old. Kicking them outside so you can sit on the couch and drink beer? That's not a dad any kid wants to be around.

@@KindredKayethat’s an excellent point. Too many dads act like their kids are a job they don’t want except to spite the ex or to keep child support pymts down. But when u truly miss and want ur kids as most dads must, do something with ur kids. Don’t toss them outside so YOU can hv the TV.

@@LLynneM I don't think he's a bad guy or anything. I think he needs to own up to his bad choices and to to therapy so he can learn how to be a better day. I'm sure if he owns up what he did to the judge and actively takes steps to be a better dad, the judge won't deny him custody.

This guy is a dick. I have great memories of making mud pics and playing in the mud and rain. I let my kids do the same because they wanted to experience it too. It should never be used as a punishment. Kids deserve to have random acts of fun in even in not so good circumstances.

There are so many layers of ASCON with the mud cake dad story. Woo boy. I hope to God the mom gets full custody. I kinda think the dad should only get supervised visitation for the near future. He's not safe, and likely has an alcohol dependency.

For F's sake that guy in story 4 should be locked up for child abuse. He has no right ever to be near those children ever again. Truly disgusting wow

*Story 4: Mud Dad. -* YTBA we’ve seen in a while. And that’s the parenting he’s _admitting_ to. Wow. Imagine what he’s not.
Too bad u drank/passed out thru ur last visit in a long while cuz if I were mom you’d be going to court too and I’d die on that mud hill sir. Get ur sht together. Ur parents did u NO favors raising u like that and u hv the marriage to prove it.
Seek parental therapy, learn how it should be done cuz emulating ur parents is a HUGE mistake you’ll be paying for for a long time.

"parenting he's to" WOW I didn't even think of that until I read this comment! My jaw was on the floor the entire time but it just kept getting worse and you are absolutely 10000% right that he is way more abusive than this because ppl write stories in 'their best light' so u know the mom was right to get her kids away from this abusive alcoholic father. hopefully he can get help and be there for his kids, but I doubt he'll ever grow and change.

We saved the whole top tier of our wedding cake. We wrapped it and ate it in our 1st anniversary. My mom said this was a tradition so we did it. I hear now that that's not really advisable but it was wrapped really well and it tasted great. I love white wedding cake. I would have been very upset if someone gave it away.

It might be a cultural thing. I live in South Korea and my husband and I have gotten no end of crap from our friends because we *didn’t* have a housewarming party. We didn’t have one because it was during the pandemic and I was moving in with him, not a new house lol.

HUGE AH! Left them for an hour without playing with them although he doesn’t see them often. He is unaware of how to play. Mud pies are great. Did t appreciated she was doing it for him. Shouldn’t be drinking as sole carer. Then led up to the lockout. Story 5. Why didn’t the parents of the golden child pay for the wedding? Why does she need/want more money towards it

One note about the woman who wore white a couple weeks before her SIL's wedding --
This sounds so bizarre and ridiculous that i suspect its not the whole, accurate story. I wouldn't be surprised if there is something else going on that "accidentally on purpose" was left out of the story.
A couple things that made me suspicious were how she mentioned that the BIL was also upset and her husband was conflicted about the situation. If things went down as described, youd think both of these men would be on her side.
But if it actually is an accurate depiction of what happened, then the SIL is a horrible person. Idk. That's what i hate about these stories. You never know who to believe.

Story 1: NTA - I would have been so happy for my friend! Like, girl...I should have had you help plan my own wedding! This is going to be amazing ❤.
Instead, she chose to be a jealous assnut. Smh.
Story 2: YTA - I think hubby was in shock. But tbf if you're going to snitch on her, you better snitch on him, too.
Or, just stay TF out of it.
You would be NTA if you told both spouses.
Story 3: NTA - Your hubby is against helping out bc it feels emasculating. "Cooking??" That's women's work!
Geez. You're not TA, but he sure is.
Story 4: YTA/ASCON 1 - His negligent ass deserves supervised visitation at best.
Story 5: YTA/ASCON 1 - You waisted this poor woman's glory years on your ambition, only to dump her after you've become successful. Now, all of sudden you want kids. But not IvF, not surrogacy, nit adoption, but the old fashioned way.
    OP. Eat dirt.
Story 6: NTA - Get someone else to do it.
Story 7: NTA - I am weird about wedding etiquette bc I grew up never wanting one. However, the wedding cake at the reception or post party (whatever you wanna call it) is important to me.
I'd be livid if someone gave away any of the items we'd entrusted them with without asking or clearing it first. Mom was out of line. You have a right to be pissed.
Story 8: NTA - ol girl is insecure AF regarding OP. I think OP is super attractive and it makes future SIL insecure and inadequate. OP can't control that.
You don't get to gatekeep what OP wears ro her own darn bday party. SIL needs to get over it.
