"Rough lace". If you crochet a very fine lace pattern in very thick thread or wool, you can end up with a different look entirely. This looks like sewn piping, but it still is a lace!

These authors and illustrators have written and illustrated miniature books for Queen Mary’s Dolls House. I saw it years ago and could hardly believe the detail in this huge dolls house. Real paintings, music portfolios and wonderful miniature books ,all by well known writers and artists. There is an exhibition of pieces from it, on in Windsor Castle just now.
I have a question, if you can answer. I assume these are new books that are going to be put into the exhibit but since Queen Mary passed in 53, were books like CS Lewis or Tolkien, etc showcased back then?
