@xc5647321 xc5647321 I had never read or heard about his final moments until I just now looked it up. Amazing. I cared for a nephew who died from Leukemia at age 23. On the day of his death he was at his moms place and he was unable to even sit up and could barely open his eyes. He seemed to understand what people said to him, though, because he would open his eyes and try to focus on the persons face, sometimes able to utter a word or two in response. I had gone round to see him and his sister and I fed him raspberry and orange sherbet, taking turns. He was aware of me saying to him that he was making a mess--it was too warm in the room and the sherbet was dripping off his chin, all over my hands. He tried to focus on my face when I spoke to him and laughed when I had commented about the mess but that we were both washable. I told him that I loved him and he grinned. I went home at 9:30 pm, feeling like I should have stayed, just a gnawing feeling. My sister had told me that earlier that day he had opened his eyes, looked to the foot of the bed and happily said, "They're here!". Thinking he was confused and thought his grandparents had made it in from Florida, she said, "No, not yet, baby, they're still on the road." He pointed his finger toward the foot of the bed and adamantly said, "NO! They're here!" and had a very happy, peaceful grin. She glanced that way and it appeared there was a glimmer like an outline of people there. Angels? I had only been home that night about 15 minutes when my brother came to tell us he had passed at 10 pm. We went straight to my sisters and he was laying there with a smile. I think he had seen angels that came for him. Sorry to have poured all this out here. He would have been 26 yesterday and is heavy n my mind and heart. He was a Kinison fan, too. RIHP fly high, Cain.
Simply the best. He could say something so funny, and we are still laughing about his routine 24 years later. Sadly, most people growing up today know nothing about him. I think that is the real tragedy.
I bought his album ""louder than hell ""when it came out. I'm 16.--my dad and I didn't get along, but this changed things. My dad loved it, and we would play that cassette tape all day, every day. Wore it out and bought another tape. And my mom, a lovely old school wife, just had to grin and bare it. After all, it made the men in her life very happy

I still remember the first time I saw him, in the 80's. I had never seen or heard anything like him before. I laughed so hard I had tears streaming down my face. Afterwards my face and stomache muscles were sore from laughing so uncontrolably. Up until that point, and very seldom since, has my funny bone ever been so tickled!!!

In high school, a group of friends and myself went to see him in concert in Greensboro, NC. I wasn't prepared for his live act. It was far raunchier than his portrayal in movies. He was still hilarious in his screaming and the timing of his delivery. In our wonderful high school planning we took the SAT's the next morning. I took my test and was a little tired. My friends later asked me in school about how sick I had gotten. I told them I had not gotten sick. I didn't know what they were talking about. I was lucky enough to see Sam live at the "The Centrum" in Worcester, Ma. back around 1987 or '88 and he was hysterical. He was doing the "Rock-Star" bit at that point, but included lots of his classic bits. Sam is definitely missed.

Bless his heart!
His last words are so sad...please don't let me die!
His last word was actually five or six seconds after he said that. He said "Okay" and then he passed.
nobody knew he was going to die, he started talking and then he just died
His brother Bill held him as he was dying and he said Sam appeared to be talking/debating with possibly angels or someone, and kept saying "but I dont wanna die, I'm not ready.......okay, okay, okay" and died. Watch the documentary..."I AM SAM KINISON"
What a monumental talent...so missed. RIP
This and the bill hicks performance on Dangerfields are my two go to videos when I get into a fight with my girlfriend.
I AM NOW 56 and saw this when it 1st aired on HBO ...Classic ! We were all " jacked " on blow in those days ! Look at Rodney !! GREAT FUN era indeed !
It was Dangerfield's "It Ain't Easy Bein' Me" HBO special... I remember seeing it too!
A great comedian, RIP Sam!
I haven't laughed like this in some time! Thanks for posting!
Really....I'm jealous....I'm from Dayton Ohio and he used to preach around this area with his brother in attendance...he was the best....Him and Tim Allen kinda came up at the same time....I heard them on the Bob & Tom radio show around the same time...1987 or so....thanks for your comment...
MY HERO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
R. I. P. Sam 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
I was lucky enough to see Sam live at the "The Centrum" in Worcester, Ma. back around 1987 or '88 and he was hysterical. He was doing the "Rock-Star" bit at that point, but included lots of his classic bits. Sam is definitely missed.
