Can confirm it works on PC as of today, even with the unofficial fallout 4 patch installed. Maybe he wasn't clear enough; You line up your view of the wire so that you could select the conduit if the wire wasn't in the way, then press your wire button (space for PC) and you should hear the electric bzzt sound but nothing will be in your hands. Then you can go attach that invisible wire to whatever you want like a normal wire. Thanks for the vid.
You explained in one simple phrase what fucking 4 different videos of 5-7 minutes each couldn't. You deserve more likes. Confirmed, works as of February 2021 on PC, unofficial patch not installed.
sorry for posting on an old thread, I just found this btw. loving it. I use keyboard and mouse and am not able to do the glitch. any suggestions short of using a controller?
I haven't tried it on PC, but I'd expect it to work the same way. Put the cross hair on the wire, facing the connector you want to start from and press your usual "attach wire" button. That should activate the glitch. Then connect wherever you want to end.
This Glitch saved my life lol And my TV from amgry flying Objects i guess...lol I don't know what Bethesda was thinking with the way they let us do things the Vanilla way. xD I like 'how to' Vids, so Thumbs up and i am ready for more. (=
Lol, It's handy for tiding up settlements. I'm trying not to over use it though lately, the pylons can add character if used correctly. I'm curious to see what Bethesda do next time. Most of the glitching is used to go beyond the limitations of the game so hopefully they'll introduce some functionality that allows for greater creativity, in the same way that the glitches do. It's only the first time they've included a feature like settlement building, so hopefully the next time will be better developed.
+Infinity667 Especially when Bethesda are involved! If I had to guess, I would think it would be a step forward next time but that we'll still need glitches for some things.
I couldn't get this to work in 2023 on XBox. I had to remove the wall, run the wire through, then replace the wall. It snapped into place and the wire worked.
Though I've not checked, at this stage I rather doubt it has. If Bethesda were going to patch out building glitches it would have happened ages ago. The glitch was removed from 76 before release so they've obviously known about it for a long time.

Still works May 2024 :) Thank you for the very clear instruction.
I can attest to that, it works on the series x. Thank you for this what a game changer!
is it still working? i am trying but no lluck
@pervysage4934 it is. I used it myself fairly recently.
You're the reason that Fallout 4 wires aren't messy! Many thanks!
Well I can't take full credit, 😂 but I'm glad to be of help!
Good on ya both for still playing! Im glad im not the only one!!
Thank you for showing this without making the video 20 minutes without actually explaining and showing it!
2/22 on ps5, this still works! Tysm!
Wish I could figure this out for PS4

Sorry I'm trying to get my head around this and so far yours is the only video that actually makes sense, but does this only work for conduits?
It should work for anything you can attach a wire to. (Most of which have conduit-like connectors anyway, so the same principle will still apply).
@@DarthXionGames okay thanks, this helps me troubleshoot a little easier.

This work on ps5 even after the most recent patch
thank youuuuu
Omg Thank you!
Not working in 2019?
Right???
Not working in 2023
seems simple enough
+Chaos in Fallout It is really. Explaining it on the fly is a little harder to do clearly, but this makes it much easier to see. :)
wtf it works HAHAH
Just so everyone knows- the wire glitch has been patched.
Though I've not checked, at this stage I rather doubt it has.

@@DarthXionGames No, I tried it several times before I posted that. Then I looked it up. It no longer works on Fallout 4 for the ps4
Glitch still works for me and I’m using PS4
It still works. There’s even a WiFi glitch I’m using at the moment.
2/22 on the PS5, this glitch still works
