EXPLANATION OF WHY MANAPHY MAKES A PHIONE: Manaphy is originally from the cold seafloor, basically the depths of the seas. When a Manapahy breeds outside of it's natural enviroment, it creates a Phione, who is basically a Warm counterpart of Manaphy, who prefers warm waters and drifting on the water's exterior. It's basically a more extreme case of adaptation.

Wait we know why Phione comes from Manaphy. It was explained in the Manaphy movie. Only a Manaphy egg that was laid in the underwater palace place becomes a Manaphy. All the others become Phione. So being a Manaphy is like being the queen bee.

That would make sense but the azure flute was supposed to be an event item and the way to get event items is to go to the mail man in a pokemart after you redeem a event item, actually the reason why the item was scrapped was because gamefreak said that it would be to confusing, maybe instead of going to a pokemart you had to go the cathedral instead to get the azure flute, it would make sense since people were use to going to a pokemart to get a event item so people would be confused if they went there and there was no mail man waiting there to give the azure flute to you

Phione could be a weaker version of Manaphy literally, Manaphy is from cold seas whilst Phione is from warm seas, the warmer climate is the reason why Manaphy eggs hatch into Phione. You could only get an actual Manaphy egg from Pokemon Ranger.
Arceus came from our dimension. That's the way I want to think about it. It'd be a bit meta, but I think it could be that the egg was created by the creators of the game, if that makes sense.
Imma be honest, with the explanation they gave in the game, I wouldn't be surprised if they make Arceus an Ultra Beast in the remake games. I, personally, love the idea of the Ultra Beasts, but I know that some people really don't like them.
It's been ages since i watched it but i believe after they released Palkia ad Dialga the universe began to disappear like fade out as if it never existed, then after Cyrus jumped into the rift after it I'm sure i remember Dialga and Palkia destroyed the rift with 'Roar of Time' and 'Spacial Rend' just after he entered it so i always took this to mean that in destroying the wormhole they basically killed him. That's probably not the case but honestly who could blame them after what he did to them he basically dragged them against their will to Spear Pillar then attempted to enslave them.
I think the arceus origin thing is how the people of Sinnoh viewed the “Big Bang” cause the way the egg formed sounds like the Big Bang theory. The egg probably wasn’t “birthed”, it was probably a round object formed by the ultimate collision of star stuff, which became a shell of sorts that Arceus emerged from.

Maybe the egg could of been from Ultra Space? I mean we have seen Alien Pokemon in the Ultra Beasts, maybe Arceus just happen to fall through a Ultra Wormhole into a universe that needed shaping. Arceus' influence then allowed the Ultra Beasts to come through as they were related

C'mon man, no. "No differences between the two" isn't talking about appearances and movesets and typing. It just means socially. They ate at the same table. The JPN version mentions marriage. It meant that people and pokemon were socially equal in every way and now they are not. I find this to actually be a far more insteresting story to figure out. Why aren't thy equal now? Did people just evolve faster (like actually evolution - not pokemon evolution) and just deem themselves a superior species? What happened?
They even still have 'infinity energy' part of them like pokemon do, we have psychics, firebreathers, high durability to other infinity energy based attacks, etcetc. It's how that world works.

I thought the point of Phione is that it is an 'imperfect" Manaphy due to the fact that Manaphys are only able to breed among themselves in exceptionally pure water. Though this might be a mixture of different canons and info.

I really mean no disrespect, but Fantina doesn't speak French in the Japanese version of the games. She uses English phrases instead. So the idea that she's from Kalos or some other France-inspired country doesn't really add up.

But based on that info she might be from Galar (or an Anglophile/Galarphile), which still takes inspiration from a European country with its own cultural history of cathedrals such as Westminster Abbey, York Minster, Lincoln cathedral, Canterbury cathedral, etc. There's even a mini-series on that "The Pillars of the Earth"

Surge to Unova, but no official confirmation even in pokemon masters. The original Japanese is considered canon, while localization changes like 4kids changing lines or censoring scenes is not. In this case I think it's just a redundancy issue as she's intended to portray an extravagant foreigner but it would not translate well or convey the same meaning if she kept the same language that she's meant to sort of parody. It's like this in a lot of japanese anime/games where they'll use English words b/c it sounds cool and foreign yet sound ridiculous or not make sense to an actual English speaker. I'd need to check but she might probably still use English phrases for other languages too. But hopefully if D/P remakes are around the corner we'll get some answers
Considering how she’s English in Japan and French elsewhere, she could be from a province near both Kalos and Galar. Perhaps a place that has Pokémon Contests, considering neither Kalos nor Galar have them. Or maybe it’s a case of Phoenix Wright, where the Von Karmas are American in Japan and German everywhere else, but what they are is up to you. So Fantina’s canonical ethnicity is up to you and not truly set in stone. ...I guess. Maybe she’s a Drifblim in disguise and is feigning a foreign accent while she learns the human language. And then her fellow Drifblims will arrive and kidnap everybody. Somehow, this makes... vague sense.
It is said that Manephy has a specific breeding spot somewhere in some ocean(i cant remember) and that if Manephy does not breed in that body of water then a Phione will be created, therefore Phione is a deformed Manephy and thats why Phione does not evolve into Manephy because its just a Manephy but deformed and the deformed case can be used to explain why Phione's base stat total is lower than Manephy's

The Arceus egg thing is not supposed to be taken literally, it's folklore, just old stories/legends passed down from generation to generation; you're seriously overthinking it. Arceus might not even be the creator god of the pokemon universe for all we know, he was just worshiped as so by the ancient people of Sinnoh.
I mean, have you seen that scene in the sinjoh ruins where he create an egg ? Have you seen him in arceus and the jewel of life ? He's definitely the creator god For his origin you could be right, but he's definitely the original one that then, shaped the world with his hundred arms (the unkowns)
In Greek mythology, the primordial elements existed in chaos. From this chaos, as a consequence of chaos itself, rose order. Water coalesced against Fire, Air filling space in opposition to the unyielding Earth. And, depending on the metaphysics employed, balancing them all, in both chaos and order, is Quintessence, the fifth element of the Aether. Arceus' origin clearly mirrors this. Not that other creation myths aren't similar in some aspects, and the "order because of chaos"/"something from nothing" sentiment even exists in goddamn Genesis 1 of the Bible. But, whichever mythology Arceus is taken from can easily have taken such creation myths as its basis for the creation of the Pokemon world.
Right let's solve some of these mysteries. 1. The Function of the Church: The biggest clue here I think lays on the mural in the background which clearly depicts a light a top Mount Coronet which of course is where Arceus is located. I believe this place was the location where the player was intended to attain the Azure Flute. 2. The Fate of Cyrus: I think US/UM answered this question, he escaped through a wormhole into a reality where he managed to Capture Dialga and Palkia. However without the Red Chain he couldn't manipulate their time/space altering powers. 3. The origin of Arceus's egg: Honestly I believe this one is pure myth however if there is an answer I believe it somes from HG/SS. The game HEAVILY ties Arceus to Unknown the Ruins of Alph theme also is the same as that of the Azure Flute. I believe psychic power of Unown is what shapes the Pokemon world as we see multiple times they can manipulate reality and create the gods that govern time and space. 4. Manaphy's ability to breed: This is a trait where an animal (usually fish and reptiles) are able to change their gender to facilitate breeding with other species, this would also explain why Manaphy can breed with Ditto. As for why Phione is created I suspect it's simply because Ditto can't replicate the genealogy of a legendary completely. 5. The human Pokemon link: I am not even going to try to explain this one in depth but simply but natural evolution species evolve to adapt to their natural surroundings and place in the food chain. As humans became less reliant on their powers they shed their abilities however it's shown many humans in the Pokemon world can take attacks from Pokemon suggesting the link may still exist somewhere deep with in their DNA.
I feel fairly confident the whole “Arceus egg” thing is a reference to the Big Bang, since both are events that created the universe. Also, Phione was probably so players could share Manaphy without causing a sudden influx of Manaphy.
To be fair there is one major clue as to what may have been intended to occur at the church. That mural in the background clearly shows a light atop Mount Coronet. My guess is that you were either meant to attain the Azure Flute at this location or you would play it here to unlock the Hall of Origin to fight Arceus. Obviously we know that wasn't the case in the final game but it would make sense if at some earlier stage this were the case.
My thoughts: The church: As you theorized it was likely intended to have more plot relevance or hold an event but was scraped. Cyrus: In the Pokemon Generations anime when Cyrus is taken to the distortion world by Giratina and his team is panicking he gives them a final message that goes something like don't look for me this world is perfect so I suspect he doesn't need to seek revenge because he already has his perfect world. Manaphy/Phione: I say some comments stating that Phione is a warm seas/freshwater variant of Manaphy but besides that I look at it similarly to Carbink and Diancie. Diancie is a legendary Pokemon that comes from a Carbink under specific circumstances but you can't evolve a Carbink into a Diancie in game. Manaphy is known as the Prince of the sea so I imagine every Manaphy started as a Phione and when a Phione is crowned it becomes Manaphy and that's not a situation a trainer can create therefore you cannot evolve Phione into Manaphy. Arcues: Probably not meant to be taken literally just the Pokemon world's version of the Big Bang.

Generations isn’t canon though. They made a lot of mistakes/liberal interpretations. In the dialogue of Platinum, Cyrus is pretty angry about being in the DW and even called it a stupid world. He vowed to figure out its secrets and make his way out of it, though, so basically he was too prideful to accept the player’s help. It didn’t help that Cynthia basically instigated fights with him down there, because he did appear to start coming around to the player after his loss, but Cynthia periodically said stuff to set him off/misunderstood what it was Cyrus actually wanted, which was to put an end to all his rage. I do like the Generations episode, but it was really inaccurate re: Platinum’s events, and isn’t canon. I hope we get an actual answer as far as what happened to Cyrus - a redemption similar to Maxie and Archie’s, even. That would be really nice, since Cyrus deserves one more tbh.

@@huntermengel2683 I mean, it's assumed that at the time there was no actual distinction between human or pokemon, likely because they were both evolutions of Mew (which can be gathered from the book's last or so line that says they were rumored to have once been the same thing, and I'm pretty sure that it's been confirmed that every mon - besides most mythicals and legendaries - came from it).
For the Arceus one: As a fan of Greek Mythology, I always took Arceus's origin story with the Greek one in mind. The chaos created the egg. And, although we do joke about it, several NPCs do say that eggs in general just appear out of nowhere. What if they were correct? What if the same power that made Arceus's egg appear is responsible for making *all* eggs appear? This story in Sinnoh always one I love to ponder and think about.
People being pokemon makes a little sense. Ashe does some incredible feats for a normal human. I mean even team rocket gets sent into earth's atmosphere and are fine.
I always thought that Arceus created the world, Mew created the Pokemon of the world, Deoxys created the humans, and then of course Azelf Uxie and Mesprit gave traits to the humans I don't know why, but for some reason that always made sense for me
Consider this: Water it's considered the origins of life as we know it; what if phione and manaphy represent microscopic organisms that eventually evolve by many generations into different beings, keeping the egg mechanic for gameplay purposes but has zero relevance lore-wise

Manaphy breeding capability isn't explained, however the lore on phione explains that manaphy can only hatch in warm (tropical?) waters, the egg produced becomes manaphy's cold water equivalent. (yes this falls apart in SM, but it was included)
Trysten MacAulay dang so if we were going by the dex entries manaphy eggs can only be hatched in summon and possibly galar and Phione eggs can be hatched in hoenn and alola, other regions never centralized a temperature so idk what you would do with them based on dex entries.
I think that the vortex, that the egg appeared from, is actually a time vortex from the end of the universe created by Arceus who then reverted into egg for to go back to before the start, cause it was the only way to travel to that point. Thus Arceus is in a never ending loop.
The church had to have played a role in the scrapped event to catch Arceus. The mural in the church looks like Mt. Coronet, and the shining light at the top is Arceus
The answer to the Arceus egg question is simple: Celebi from the end of a universe traveled backwards in time to the beginning, drops an egg and that egg becomes Arceus. Everyone assumes that egg Celebi leaves behind is itself, but maybe under the right circumstances at the beginning of time, its Arceus
About the Arceus's egg thing, the "Turmoil of chaos" that is referred to could be based on the Greek creation myth, where there was the primordial Chaos before the universe that then spawned the primordial gods. And also in pretty much every other creation myth, the creation god(s) just sort of come into existence without any reason.
Cyrus’s fate ? The answer is actually quite easy , he starved to death in the distortion world. Now when you revisit that place, try find his corpse. Is “starve to death in the Distortion World” so hard to accept ?
The manaphy/phione thing actually has a solution Manaphy is pokemon from a warm water region and it only breeds manaphy eggs in that specific region and it breeds phione eggs in colder climates. PS: I can't remember where I saw this But I think it confirmed in one of the ranger games.

The idea of an egg springing from a swirling vortex of chaos, seemingly formed from nothing, reminds me of some real-world creation myths. I'm a bit rusty on my greek myths, but wasn't Gaia/Earth also born from Chaos? Or something like that? That doesn't really answer the question of where Arceus' egg may have come from, but the story could have some real-world inspiration.
Arceus is an ultra beast, sent through a constant wormhole they had open into an empty space where they planned on expanding. Arceus rebelled and realised that instead of letting his brethren through he’d make a new start and create creatures to inhabit this space with him that were friendly
On the topic of Manaphy and Phione I always attributed to them being like slimes from other games, this due to the movie and anime on the way they movie, the fact it can brees with ditto (a slime like pokemon) and makes Phione that by the way dex entrys sound it is an "imperfect" or altered Manaphy.
The folk tales are bringing back memories of a fanfiction I read where Ash hatched from a Pokémon egg birthed from Arceus himself in order to save the Pokémon world, and they even mentioned 'Pokémon and humans once sat at the same table, no differences between our species'. Great read, and also brings your Pokémon/human folktales and common ancestor theory have a bit of merit
It's no secret that Sinnoh is one of my favorite regions, it's full of mysteries and creepy lore But nothing on the subject of these games has sent a horrified chill down my spine like hearing these games are 15 years old. I feel so old now...
Manaphy and Phione are actually pretty easy to understand. Manaphy's egg originally come from Pokemon Ranger. The Fiore region is said to be far away from Sinnoh. It's also said to be "Born on a cold seafloor." This tells us that the waters off Fiore are cold. Now we go to Phione. They make warm waters their home. As you know, this is something that happens in nature and the Pokemon world, where environment can cause fundamental changes in a species' development, either with new variants or new evolutions. This is just another example. The environment of Sinnoh caused the eggs layed by Manaphy to mutate so the offspring could survive. It's kind of like how a Fire-type Vulpix can lay an egg in Alola and spawn the Ice-type variety, but a bit more extreme. Plus they're based on sea angels, if that means anything.
Phione is basically a malformed, mutated Manaphy. It's like breeding clownfish. While they can be bred in captivity, breeding outside their native ocean enviornment causes problems. In the case of clownfish, it effects their stripe pattern often resulting in irregular blotches. This being pokemon, they simply ramped up the consequences of Manaphy breeding away from its native waters.
That open end for Cyrus could mean he ended up in the past and be in legends: arcues. He could be trying to shape the worlds future the way he likes in the past and we have to thwart his plans.
These mysteries makes me wish that a for Diamond and Pearl remake come before gen 9 I think Game Freak should make the Sinnoh remakes after the DLC games are made.
With the Humans being Special Pokemon thing, Gen 5 sequels went further with the concept in Pokestar Studios with Bug Pokemon like Ledian using Humans as their Pokemon. Capsule Storage technology is how both Pokeballs & itemballs work in the series. Pokeballs have failsafes to prevent humans from being caught, although it would be interesting to see an Evil Team bypassing those to use on humans someday even though it will never happen for a number of reasons. Also let's not forget that 1 of the Pokestar Studio films had a young woman get caught by a strange Pokeball (without those safeguards) then turn giant possibly like an unending Dynamax.
I mean a version of ultra necrozma that consumed a universe pulling everything to one point, like a vortex, then transforming into an egg to gestate the matter and energy. When they come out of its gestation period it is altered as it wasn't the energy that it was meant to consume leaving it in a new form, arceus. Feeling alone in this void it creates palkia, dialga, giritina, the unknown, and soon mew to explore the worlds it had created.
The way I see it is this: the "vortex" is just another name for the "churning turmoil of chaos." Being pure chaos, anything can happen, and one thing that did happen was the creation of an egg...
The thing about humans in the world of Pokemon, Hoops, is they do seem to have types. According to Sabrina, all Humans have Psychic ability, and one merely needs to train to unlock it. Then there's the humans like Riley who are confirmed to be able to use Aura, which is traditionally associated with the Fighting-type. Humans could very well be Psychic-type Pokemon (again, evidenced by Sabrina's statement and the existence of actual psychics in Pokemon: also what distinguishes humans from other animals? Brainpower) with a subset of Psychic/Fighting types for those who learn to manipulate Aura.

That would make sense but the azure flute was supposed to be an event item and the way to get event items is to go to the mail man in a pokemart after you redeem a event item, actually the reason why the item was scrapped was because gamefreak said that it would be to confusing, maybe instead of going to a pokemart you had to go the cathedral instead to get the azure flute, it would make sense since people were use to going to a pokemart to get a event item so people would be confused if they went there and there was no mail man waiting there to give the azure flute to you

Phione could be a weaker version of Manaphy literally, Manaphy is from cold seas whilst Phione is from warm seas, the warmer climate is the reason why Manaphy eggs hatch into Phione. You could only get an actual Manaphy egg from Pokemon Ranger.

Arceus came from our dimension. That's the way I want to think about it. It'd be a bit meta, but I think it could be that the egg was created by the creators of the game, if that makes sense.

Imma be honest, with the explanation they gave in the game, I wouldn't be surprised if they make Arceus an Ultra Beast in the remake games. I, personally, love the idea of the Ultra Beasts, but I know that some people really don't like them.

It's been ages since i watched it but i believe after they released Palkia ad Dialga the universe began to disappear like fade out as if it never existed, then after Cyrus jumped into the rift after it I'm sure i remember Dialga and Palkia destroyed the rift with 'Roar of Time' and 'Spacial Rend' just after he entered it so i always took this to mean that in destroying the wormhole they basically killed him. That's probably not the case but honestly who could blame them after what he did to them he basically dragged them against their will to Spear Pillar then attempted to enslave them.

I think the arceus origin thing is how the people of Sinnoh viewed the “Big Bang” cause the way the egg formed sounds like the Big Bang theory. The egg probably wasn’t “birthed”, it was probably a round object formed by the ultimate collision of star stuff, which became a shell of sorts that Arceus emerged from.

Maybe the egg could of been from Ultra Space? I mean we have seen Alien Pokemon in the Ultra Beasts, maybe Arceus just happen to fall through a Ultra Wormhole into a universe that needed shaping. Arceus' influence then allowed the Ultra Beasts to come through as they were related

My theory is since Fantina speaks french, we can assume she's likely from Kalos (or at least a Francophile/Kalosphile) and since cathedrals are prominent cultural landmarks in France such as Notre Dame, perhaps she introduced it to her town of Hearthome
I really mean no disrespect, but Fantina doesn't speak French in the Japanese version of the games. She uses English phrases instead. So the idea that she's from Kalos or some other France-inspired country doesn't really add up.

But based on that info she might be from Galar (or an Anglophile/Galarphile), which still takes inspiration from a European country with its own cultural history of cathedrals such as Westminster Abbey, York Minster, Lincoln cathedral, Canterbury cathedral, etc. There's even a mini-series on that "The Pillars of the Earth"

Surge to Unova, but no official confirmation even in pokemon masters. The original Japanese is considered canon, while localization changes like 4kids changing lines or censoring scenes is not. In this case I think it's just a redundancy issue as she's intended to portray an extravagant foreigner but it would not translate well or convey the same meaning if she kept the same language that she's meant to sort of parody. It's like this in a lot of japanese anime/games where they'll use English words b/c it sounds cool and foreign yet sound ridiculous or not make sense to an actual English speaker. I'd need to check but she might probably still use English phrases for other languages too. But hopefully if D/P remakes are around the corner we'll get some answers
Considering how she’s English in Japan and French elsewhere, she could be from a province near both Kalos and Galar. Perhaps a place that has Pokémon Contests, considering neither Kalos nor Galar have them.
Or maybe it’s a case of Phoenix Wright, where the Von Karmas are American in Japan and German everywhere else, but what they are is up to you. So Fantina’s canonical ethnicity is up to you and not truly set in stone.

It is said that Manephy has a specific breeding spot somewhere in some ocean(i cant remember) and that if Manephy does not breed in that body of water then a Phione will be created, therefore Phione is a deformed Manephy and thats why Phione does not evolve into Manephy because its just a Manephy but deformed and the deformed case can be used to explain why Phione's base stat total is lower than Manephy's

The Arceus egg thing is not supposed to be taken literally, it's folklore, just old stories/legends passed down from generation to generation; you're seriously overthinking it. Arceus might not even be the creator god of the pokemon universe for all we know, he was just worshiped as so by the ancient people of Sinnoh.

I mean, have you seen that scene in the sinjoh ruins where he create an egg ? Have you seen him in arceus and the jewel of life ?

For his origin you could be right, but he's definitely the original one that then, shaped the world with his hundred arms (the unkowns)
In Greek mythology, the primordial elements existed in chaos. From this chaos, as a consequence of chaos itself, rose order. Water coalesced against Fire, Air filling space in opposition to the unyielding Earth. And, depending on the metaphysics employed, balancing them all, in both chaos and order, is Quintessence, the fifth element of the Aether.
Arceus' origin clearly mirrors this. Not that other creation myths aren't similar in some aspects, and the "order because of chaos"/"something from nothing" sentiment even exists in goddamn Genesis 1 of the Bible. But, whichever mythology Arceus is taken from can easily have taken such creation myths as its basis for the creation of the Pokemon world.
Right let's solve some of these mysteries.
1. The Function of the Church: The biggest clue here I think lays on the mural in the background which clearly depicts a light a top Mount Coronet which of course is where Arceus is located. I believe this place was the location where the player was intended to attain the Azure Flute.
2. The Fate of Cyrus: I think US/UM answered this question, he escaped through a wormhole into a reality where he managed to Capture Dialga and Palkia. However without the Red Chain he couldn't manipulate their time/space altering powers.
3. The origin of Arceus's egg: Honestly I believe this one is pure myth however if there is an answer I believe it somes from HG/SS. The game HEAVILY ties Arceus to Unknown the Ruins of Alph theme also is the same as that of the Azure Flute. I believe psychic power of Unown is what shapes the Pokemon world as we see multiple times they can manipulate reality and create the gods that govern time and space.
4. Manaphy's ability to breed: This is a trait where an animal (usually fish and reptiles) are able to change their gender to facilitate breeding with other species, this would also explain why Manaphy can breed with Ditto. As for why Phione is created I suspect it's simply because Ditto can't replicate the genealogy of a legendary completely.
5. The human Pokemon link: I am not even going to try to explain this one in depth but simply but natural evolution species evolve to adapt to their natural surroundings and place in the food chain. As humans became less reliant on their powers they shed their abilities however it's shown many humans in the Pokemon world can take attacks from Pokemon suggesting the link may still exist somewhere deep with in their DNA.

I feel fairly confident the whole “Arceus egg” thing is a reference to the Big Bang, since both are events that created the universe.
Also, Phione was probably so players could share Manaphy without causing a sudden influx of Manaphy.
To be fair there is one major clue as to what may have been intended to occur at the church.
That mural in the background clearly shows a light atop Mount Coronet. My guess is that you were either meant to attain the Azure Flute at this location or you would play it here to unlock the Hall of Origin to fight Arceus. Obviously we know that wasn't the case in the final game but it would make sense if at some earlier stage this were the case.
My thoughts:
The church: As you theorized it was likely intended to have more plot relevance or hold an event but was scraped.
Cyrus: In the Pokemon Generations anime when Cyrus is taken to the distortion world by Giratina and his team is panicking he gives them a final message that goes something like don't look for me this world is perfect so I suspect he doesn't need to seek revenge because he already has his perfect world.
Manaphy/Phione: I say some comments stating that Phione is a warm seas/freshwater variant of Manaphy but besides that I look at it similarly to Carbink and Diancie. Diancie is a legendary Pokemon that comes from a Carbink under specific circumstances but you can't evolve a Carbink into a Diancie in game. Manaphy is known as the Prince of the sea so I imagine every Manaphy started as a Phione and when a Phione is crowned it becomes Manaphy and that's not a situation a trainer can create therefore you cannot evolve Phione into Manaphy.
Arcues: Probably not meant to be taken literally just the Pokemon world's version of the Big Bang.

Generations isn’t canon though. They made a lot of mistakes/liberal interpretations. In the dialogue of Platinum, Cyrus is pretty angry about being in the DW and even called it a stupid world. He vowed to figure out its secrets and make his way out of it, though, so basically he was too prideful to accept the player’s help. It didn’t help that Cynthia basically instigated fights with him down there, because he did appear to start coming around to the player after his loss, but Cynthia periodically said stuff to set him off/misunderstood what it was Cyrus actually wanted, which was to put an end to all his rage.
I do like the Generations episode, but it was really inaccurate re: Platinum’s events, and isn’t canon. I hope we get an actual answer as far as what happened to Cyrus - a redemption similar to Maxie and Archie’s, even. That would be really nice, since Cyrus deserves one more tbh.

For the Arceus one: As a fan of Greek Mythology, I always took Arceus's origin story with the Greek one in mind. The chaos created the egg. And, although we do joke about it, several NPCs do say that eggs in general just appear out of nowhere. What if they were correct? What if the same power that made Arceus's egg appear is responsible for making *all* eggs appear?
This story in Sinnoh always one I love to ponder and think about.
People being pokemon makes a little sense. Ashe does some incredible feats for a normal human. I mean even team rocket gets sent into earth's atmosphere and are fine.
I always thought that Arceus created the world, Mew created the Pokemon of the world, Deoxys created the humans, and then of course Azelf Uxie and Mesprit gave traits to the humans

Manaphy breeding capability isn't explained, however the lore on phione explains that manaphy can only hatch in warm (tropical?) waters, the egg produced becomes manaphy's cold water equivalent. (yes this falls apart in SM, but it was included)

I think that the vortex, that the egg appeared from, is actually a time vortex from the end of the universe created by Arceus who then reverted into egg for to go back to before the start, cause it was the only way to travel to that point. Thus Arceus is in a never ending loop.

The answer to the Arceus egg question is simple: Celebi from the end of a universe traveled backwards in time to the beginning, drops an egg and that egg becomes Arceus.

About the Arceus's egg thing, the "Turmoil of chaos" that is referred to could be based on the Greek creation myth, where there was the primordial Chaos before the universe that then spawned the primordial gods. And also in pretty much every other creation myth, the creation god(s) just sort of come into existence without any reason.
Cyrus’s fate ? The answer is actually quite easy , he starved to death in the distortion world. Now when you revisit that place, try find his corpse.

The manaphy/phione thing actually has a solution Manaphy is pokemon from a warm water region and it only breeds manaphy eggs in that specific region and it breeds phione eggs in colder climates.

The idea of an egg springing from a swirling vortex of chaos, seemingly formed from nothing, reminds me of some real-world creation myths. I'm a bit rusty on my greek myths, but wasn't Gaia/Earth also born from Chaos? Or something like that? That doesn't really answer the question of where Arceus' egg may have come from, but the story could have some real-world inspiration.

Arceus is an ultra beast, sent through a constant wormhole they had open into an empty space where they planned on expanding. Arceus rebelled and realised that instead of letting his brethren through he’d make a new start and create creatures to inhabit this space with him that were friendly
On the topic of Manaphy and Phione I always attributed to them being like slimes from other games, this due to the movie and anime on the way they movie, the fact it can brees with ditto (a slime like pokemon) and makes Phione that by the way dex entrys sound it is an "imperfect" or altered Manaphy.
The folk tales are bringing back memories of a fanfiction I read where Ash hatched from a Pokémon egg birthed from Arceus himself in order to save the Pokémon world, and they even mentioned 'Pokémon and humans once sat at the same table, no differences between our species'. Great read, and also brings your Pokémon/human folktales and common ancestor theory have a bit of merit

Manaphy and Phione are actually pretty easy to understand. Manaphy's egg originally come from Pokemon Ranger. The Fiore region is said to be far away from Sinnoh. It's also said to be "Born on a cold seafloor." This tells us that the waters off Fiore are cold.
Now we go to Phione. They make warm waters their home. As you know, this is something that happens in nature and the Pokemon world, where environment can cause fundamental changes in a species' development, either with new variants or new evolutions. This is just another example. The environment of Sinnoh caused the eggs layed by Manaphy to mutate so the offspring could survive. It's kind of like how a Fire-type Vulpix can lay an egg in Alola and spawn the Ice-type variety, but a bit more extreme.
Plus they're based on sea angels, if that means anything.
I feel like the original god appearing spontaneously and then creating the world is common in mythology.
The Manaphy stuff I think I remember it being explained a bit further in Ranger and the Legend of the Sea
Phione is basically a malformed, mutated Manaphy. It's like breeding clownfish. While they can be bred in captivity, breeding outside their native ocean enviornment causes problems. In the case of clownfish, it effects their stripe pattern often resulting in irregular blotches. This being pokemon, they simply ramped up the consequences of Manaphy breeding away from its native waters.
That open end for Cyrus could mean he ended up in the past and be in legends: arcues. He could be trying to shape the worlds future the way he likes in the past and we have to thwart his plans.

These mysteries makes me wish that a for Diamond and Pearl remake come before gen 9 I think Game Freak should make the Sinnoh remakes after the DLC games are made.

With the Humans being Special Pokemon thing, Gen 5 sequels went further with the concept in Pokestar Studios with Bug Pokemon like Ledian using Humans as their Pokemon. Capsule Storage technology is how both Pokeballs & itemballs work in the series. Pokeballs have failsafes to prevent humans from being caught, although it would be interesting to see an Evil Team bypassing those to use on humans someday even though it will never happen for a number of reasons. Also let's not forget that 1 of the Pokestar Studio films had a young woman get caught by a strange Pokeball (without those safeguards) then turn giant possibly like an unending Dynamax.
I mean a version of ultra necrozma that consumed a universe pulling everything to one point, like a vortex, then transforming into an egg to gestate the matter and energy. When they come out of its gestation period it is altered as it wasn't the energy that it was meant to consume leaving it in a new form, arceus. Feeling alone in this void it creates palkia, dialga, giritina, the unknown, and soon mew to explore the worlds it had created.
The way I see it is this: the "vortex" is just another name for the "churning turmoil of chaos." Being pure chaos, anything can happen, and one thing that did happen was the creation of an egg...

The thing about humans in the world of Pokemon, Hoops, is they do seem to have types. According to Sabrina, all Humans have Psychic ability, and one merely needs to train to unlock it. Then there's the humans like Riley who are confirmed to be able to use Aura, which is traditionally associated with the Fighting-type. Humans could very well be Psychic-type Pokemon (again, evidenced by Sabrina's statement and the existence of actual psychics in Pokemon: also what distinguishes humans from other animals? Brainpower) with a subset of Psychic/Fighting types for those who learn to manipulate Aura.
