Hey Timothy! So I won’t even watch this vid yet, but I wanted to tell you. So I’m a new drummer, just started with my electric set in December. And though I don’t plan on attempting to join my churches worship team till >December, I am loving getting to learn some songs based off your tutorials. I’m actually doing a cover of a Skillet (Christian) rock bands song before I even try out for worship lol. But, thank you so much bro! And keep them coming lol!
Love the video!! SONG REQUEST: I would love it if you could play come alive by The Belonging Co. It's a song I've been jamming with for the past few days and was looking for some covers to learn it on drums. You're the "Go To" guy I go to whenever I look for covers and I was surprised to see you haven't made one yet. I feel the song is right up your alley and I would love to see your interpretation of the song. Anyway, loving the content man!!!
Hi Timothy, thank you very much for this video. Question: for this low tuning and using the ring, I’d it ok to hit the rimshot or is it better to hit just the head? I’ve found that when I hit the rimshot, it tends to produce a choked sound, but I have a 5.5x14 maple snare. Could it be my snare?
Great video and tips. The snare wire count doesn’t affect the sound all that much. That aspect has been debunked over the years. You’re actually more likely to get more sympathetic buzz with way more wires. Your tuning is fantastic though 🤌🏼
Honestly I would just try it and see what happens, Its always fun to mess around with the tuning and see how good you can make your set sound. Dont be scared to try it!
Im not a drummer, I tried so hard to get that snare sound just by mixing and cant get it to work. I should have asked my drummer to tune his drums from now.

Thanks for the advice and video, Tim
You’ve done an amazing job. Parallel compression would help you achieve a massive sound, you should try it sometime
