Considering MNOG II's "bugs": what you played was not the original version. As I've been told, LEGO separated from Templar after the game was complete, and the game was taken down from the site. When it was put up again, there were several files gone and the game was riddled with bugs. Fans came by and fixed it in the later years, but the bug complaints mostly came from that time period. I didn't think it was fair to judge the game based on some event that was separate from the game itself, though. The game itself was solid when it came out, and it was borked for a reason unrelated to the actual product. You guys are welcome to question it's position on the list, but I ignored bug complaints because of that reason.
Mata Nui Online Game is the best in my opinion. It's quite an underrated Point n Click adventure. It's sequel was riddled with bugs upon release and even after the patches, it's gameplay flow wasn't as well put together as its predecessor.
Well yeah. When people talk about Point n Click games, TellTale games, Grim Fandango, Monkey Island, etc come to mind. But I feel that MNOG is overlooked. Sure it isn't within the top 5, but it's still quite a gem.
I'm content with the results. I never had a game console or handheld, but MNOG, MNOG2, and VNOG are all precious memories in my heart. It was enchanting to play MNOG2 as it was still under development and watch the world grow.
+Daniel Jones hmm.... let me think... For bionicle, it was mostly the _NOGs. But I also did do pretty good on a multiplayer visorak battle game. I can't remember what it was called. We didn't have a computer that could do some 3D flash so I couldn't play everything. Otherwise I was into a lot of other Lego games, mostly the shockwave classics. I finished all the world builders, which took forever. I also liked junkbot and backlot. Lastly, a little Spybotics and "Adventures" (Indiana Jones knockoff).
I'm quite a fan of the Bionicle: Mistika online racing game. It was pretty excellent for a free-to-play game. We've got a six different classes for the first story, four classes for the second story, really enjoyable mechanics, a consistent fast pace, varying gamemodes, and best of all, a level creator where you can upload your levels for other people to play.
I've played through the GBA version more times than I can count(although I still don't have every achievement), and have 100% the wii version in the past
My biggest complaint with Heroes is it's waaaaaayyyyyy too easy! It's impossible to fail unless you're trying to fail. Also it gets really annoying that you turn into hero mode like every 5 minutes.. 🤦♂️ Because that makes it EVEN EASIER! and also it plays that annoyingly repetitive song over and over, during playing the game that song is what you hear for 85% of It.. Also the camera and player controls could be more user friendly. If it had a lot more challenge, no hero mode (or at least no hero mode music or invincibility) and some more fun control then Bionicle Heroes would be fantastic. As it is I still love it though. :)
Maze of Shadows had an incredibly customizable combat system (for the GBA at least) with the way you could add status-effects and abilities on top of the actual attacks themselves. As a result, there are a lot of different attack combinations. For example, if an enemy has high speed, use a Ko-metru disk (meaning it'll never miss) and then attach the growth status effect to the disk to to lower the enemy's speed as well, effectively removing the threat the enemy posed in a single turn.
GBA matoran adventures deserves to be higher. Also, you got something wrong. You said it has you play as future Toa Inika, but the game has you play as Maku and Onepu instead of Nuparu and Hali.
True, MNOG 2 gives you more, but sometimes less is more. I guess it comes down to personal preference: MNOG is kind of like a short film, whereas MNOG 2 is more like a 3 hour documentary.
So glad MNOG2 was number 1. I remember playing it as a kid when I was obsessed with Bionicle already, and that game felt like a full on adventure. I remember waking up early at the weekend to play it for hours on end. It really felt epic in the traditional sense of the word.
The only change I'd make is to swap the two MNOG's - while Hahli's game was a lot more world-rich, it was very difficult to find what it was you were supposed to be doing, compared to Takua's journey, which was fairly linear. Hahli's was almost TOO open-world.
For all the complaining of VNOG I have heard from LJ and Meso, I have hard time agreeing that it is better than Bionicle Heroes. And yes, I have completed both games.
I would have put MNOG as one, though maybe it may have had slightly less world building than MNOG 2, it did have interesting characters, and a flowing plot, the reason Takua is confused and can't remember anything is given compared to Hahli not remembering anything because they need her not to remember anything for the game, MNOG also introduced the Toa in the sense that they were these mythical warriors who could defeat the makuta, compared to MNOG 2 barely touching on the toa and just being a lead up to the film.
I know Bionicle the Game is far from great, but I have fond memories of it because it was the first Bionicle game I played. I had (still have) the PC version and I some great video card glitches too. For some reason the audio never synched up to the scenes and Turaga Nokama's mask...well, let's just say it looked more like someone had yanked her mask and skin (if she had skin) off. And Takua dancing around like an idiot is worth the price of admission. I didn't have internet back then so I never got to experience MNOG but I watched some of it on youtube recently and it's still extremely impressive for the 3D and visual effects era we live in. And yes...Bionicle Heroes was fantastic...except for the fact it didn't have a save feature in the middle of missions (at least it didn't on PC I hope it did on console). I still have the PC version as well, but if there were ever a remastered version coming out I'd be the first in line (I highly doubt it but you never know).
I hope to at least start a petition to TT Games to make a remastered version of Bionicle Heroes. Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks this should happen.
@@Thedarkassassin88 Heck yeah. Updating the graphics, adding more story elements, and also making Hero Mode harder to get, and making the game more challenging would make Bionicle Heroes a great game, instead of just being a good game.
Bionicle heroes DS was my favourite, it have our toa inika heroes story, but with a mysterious grey matoran who is turn into a toa to resque the others, this character makes this game something special because you feel like you are the hero, this game also have good graphics for the DS and you can get the powers and weapons of the other toa ignika and pass the levels in order to defead the piraka. Also it was a nice idea make a first person shooter for bionicle. watching this video I had inspired to make a bionicle videogame.
JTH Studios 2001 started Bionicle. If it weren't for that year, we wouldn't _have_ the other years, including the amazing 2008 which brought us the Solek Master Race.
I disagree about MNOG2. While it is the best case of world building, I personally felt that the gameplay itself was very lackluster. It also doesn't help that the game was filled with bugs upon its release that it was practically unplayable. BIONICLE Heroes would also be higher on my list. Yeah, it's completely noncanon, but I had fun playing it and felt it had its own unique charm. It all comes down to what you want out of a game. If you primarily care about story and lore, I can understand Kahi's conclusion. I personally focus on gameplay as most BIONICLE games aren't story driven. There's no real right or wrong answer here.
Bionicle Heroes is definitely number 1 because of how the game's graphics, quality, story, upgrades and enemies from different sets, and more plus it came out in 2006 which is amazing for a 2006 game at that time i dont see why it is rating 6 on the list! this is my opinion but i think putting it on 6th place has a caused lot of haters for this.
I feel like the GBA and DS versions should have been separate, rather than just averaging them all out. The three versions(console, DS, GBA) were all good in their own right
Bionicle The Game is a long standing childhood favorite of mine! I played it endlessly! I just loved the levels, no matter how annoying some of them were. I especially loved Gali's and Lewa's levels. And I used to kick Makuta's ass over and over and over after playing the game so many times xD
Really surprised to see MNOG 2 as number one, though I personally love that game. Still, I do think the first MNOG is superior, if only for the fact that MNOG 2 cuts so much story material that its ending becomes a vague mess.
Some games that have to be at honorable mentions are: Matoran escape command the toa mahri series Inika island assault Piraka attack Bionicle fighter(does not count but still a great game) Battle for power And others
Louis Ayers nah. my idea was that the player could create his very own Bionicle character and then fight some badguy who was especially created for the game. ok, another idea of mine was that players, after some character creation, would have to survive on a lonely island, build shelter for themselves and eventually figure out that there are NPCs which move in if you have a building with the right conditions. also, at some point the player of the second game would turn into a toa.

Same. They were great. Only problem with Matoran Escape was that it was way to glitchy. Sometimes the game would just freeze. Another good game is Piraka Attack.
My favorite game was Mata Nui Online 2. I have so many memories of getting online and playing this game as a kid...I wish they still had this somewhere online...
Mnog 1 and 2 were so influential for me, my love of rpgs began with those two simple flash games that had more effort and soul put into them than they needed, and I still look back on them lovingly
Row, row, row your boat, Gently down the stream! Meet everyone to a crisp, Life is but a... Failure. This was from one of iBionicle's Let's Plays, for those who don't know what I'm talking about.
MNOG 2? The game I played for 5 minutes until I realized stepping outside glitched the game making the rest of the world unexplorable, great memories right there.
I actually consider the DS BIONICLE Heroes a different game than the console version. The console version is a shooter where you are invincible and don't have to aim (essentially, just walk forward and hold the shoot button), but the DS version is actually a lot of fun. The only thing it doesn't have over the console version is the soundtrack. Also, placing MNOGII above MNOG is a ballsy move! I don't agree in the slightest bit, but to each their own.
One of my first video games was a bionicle game on the GBA. I forget it's title, but it wasn't one of the ones listed here. It took place on Voya-nui, and had you gather the toa over time for each level, required a lot of backtracking to get 100%, but was fun none-the-less.
Oh gosh, I remember HATING Matoran Adventures as a kid! That was so hard for me, in fact I don't think I ever beat it. I gave it away now, but if I could only go back and try it one more time...
I never could finish MNOG2 since it would glitch up and I could never keep my save. I should try it again now. Until then the first MNOG is my undisputed #1. I put a *lot* of time into Matoran Adventures though. I probably couldn't make it far now, but at the time I could casually run through the entire game.
+Kody Prunella for a while I've been drawing out and writing plans for a bionicle 3rd person shooter/sword fighter that would be similar to the fall of cybertron transformers game. If I ever get into game design I might give it a shot, or at least try to get someone to make it for me.
All of them are mediocre or bad except the top 2. That contrast bugs me to this day they had a good thing at the start why didn’t they keep going. I would have been happy with a mnog style set in metru nui or mahri nui. And the piraka web game where you had to shoot stuff with zamor balls, that was fun too
I am pretty sad to see that there was no more bionicle games after 2006, TT games should've made a lego brand game and a bionicle game atleast every year in my opinion. A bionicle MMORPG,where you could actually build your own character instead of 6 character choices, would've been phenomenal. Bionicle just had so much potential to have excellent game adaptations. Hopefully lego will try and make more game adaptations for G2, seeing as most kids like to watch people play games or play them a lot.
MNOG II had the most amazing open world but I feel it lacked the atmosphere and isolation of MNOG I - the move to a third person perspective is a reason for this but also the story being much less tense (for good reason, II is literally just a look into the average life of a matoran rather than a grand adventure like I) - they’re both incredibly ambitious and wonderful titles but I think MNOG I was simply perfect because of its atmosphere.
No Inika Island Assault or Matoran escape?, those shits turned me from a kid into a fucking juggernaut. I expected heroes to be in a higher spot since it is a so fucking beautifully made game but at least it appeared and I NEVER got tired of it to this day. There should also have been the 2007 games.
So I had Tales of the Tohunga for years but I never actually beat it. There was a point in the Po-Koro part of the story where you had to fight a giant scorpion, and I for the life of me could never beat it. It was still a fun game though. Maybe now that I am not a little kid anymore I should try it again.
I only played MNOG II and Bionicle the game, in which both I got stuck at some point and never finished. I think I got lost in the Ko-Koro mountains in MNOG II and I couldn't get past some guy in the beginning of Bionicle the game
They made a ton of flash games in 2007 if I remember correctly. Also, in 2006 they had Piraka connect the dots and when you got to 10 Vezok would jumpscare you.
I personally would have put Bionicle Heroes higher on the list.
Gresh113 same I vaguely remember it but I know I used to play it before my pre-teen years...I’m a high school senior now
Same amazing game
It was literally the first video game I ever played, it has a special place in my childhood
Imagine an MNOG remake by telltale, never gonna happen tho
Makuta will remember this...
Why remake something that's already perfect?
With Telltale officially shutting down, now it's really never gonna happen.
Crimson Flame wait they did?

So THAT'S why it was like that after 2004. I was wondering that for years.
I feel like bionicle heros should of been higher but that is because that is the year that I got into it.

Bionicle heroes is nostalgic for me

My personal favorite was Solek Heroes, with it's Gold Good Guy mode and Klakk powers.
***** No way, you too?
***** Yup. I still wonder why Thok is an enemy in the game. The evil Tanma must've put him under some kind of mind control...
One of my favourites is Inika Island Assault. While not big on story it was still a fun action game reminiscent of Contra.
That game is great. It really gave a sense of fear that you would have about the Piraka, and the game was fairly challenging.
"Mask of shadows"
+pikminjake Kahi's ball of lazy in action.
Yaoyao9 (リーフちゃん) lol

Heroes was the best
Yep. A great David Bowie song.
+Andrew Homer HAHA nice one

I see. I'll check it out soon.

Insert bionicle heroes advertisement at the back of every instruction book.
mata nui 2 was really broken on Lego's website back in the day but I still played it as much as I could
I really enjoyed Matoran Escape during the Voya Nui saga

MNOG 2? The game I played for 5 minutes until I realized stepping outside glitched the game making the rest of the world unexplorable, great memories right there.
Great video guys! I do believe Bionicle Heroes should have been higher on the list.
I watched this whole video just because i was looking for the one that got first. Such nostalgia i loved that game thank you
Maze of shadows was amazing. If i had enough memory space on my phone I'd emulate and play it again.
I agree with the Top #1 game slot 100%. Great Game. I still like playing it.
Number 6 for me is number 1 I love that game
BIONICLE: Quest for Mata Nui has entered the chat
I think we can all agree that the MNOG games were special and left a major impact on Bionicle
I actually consider the DS BIONICLE Heroes a different game than the console version. The console version is a shooter where you are invincible and don't have to aim (essentially, just walk forward and hold the shoot button), but the DS version is actually a lot of fun. 3. Bionicle Matoran Adventures
Anything else is irrelevant with the exception of the Mata Nui Online games.
I 100% agree with number 1 and two. Personally I loved number 2 more cause when I first played it and each Toa showed up, I was like OMG SO COOL lolz
Gotta admit, I expected mnog to be on this list, but, oddly enough, I did not expect mnog2 to be on this list
Blimey..."May-o-ri". Now I've heard it all.
Thank you ttv!
One of my first video games was a bionicle game on the GBA. I forget it's title, but it wasn't one of the ones listed here. It took place on Voya-nui, and had you gather the toa over time for each level, required a lot of backtracking to get 100%, but was fun none-the-less.
Bionicle Heroes
Oh gosh, I remember HATING Matoran Adventures as a kid! That was so hard for me, in fact I don't think I ever beat it. I gave it away now, but if I could only go back and try it one more time...
I never could finish MNOG2 since it would glitch up and I could never keep my save. I should try it again now. Until then the first MNOG is my undisputed #1.
I put a *lot* of time into Matoran Adventures though. I probably couldn't make it far now, but at the time I could casually run through the entire game.
I was worried you wouldn't mention BIONICLE Heroes DS... Good on you Kahi.
I didn't even know there were ten bionicle games
bionicle heroes should have been higher i think
I would have loved to see a Glatorian Arena trilogy, kind of like the Mortal Kombat Trilogy.
Toi bad Bionicle never got a good game. Closest we got was Bionicle Heroes. If I ever get skilled enough I will give a try at making something.
+Stashmaniac maze of shadows
I have an idea that is floating around
+Stashmaniac Imagine a bionicle game in the style of the LEGO Starwars series.
Or a bionicle fps chronicling the battle of voya nui
+Kody Prunella for a while I've been drawing out and writing plans for a bionicle 3rd person shooter/sword fighter that would be similar to the fall of cybertron transformers game. If I ever get into game design I might give it a shot, or at least try to get someone to make it for me.
All of them are mediocre or bad except the top 2. That contrast bugs me to this day they had a good thing at the start why didn’t they keep going. I would have been happy with a mnog style set in metru nui or mahri nui.
And the piraka web game where you had to shoot stuff with zamor balls, that was fun too
The game you are thinking of is called Piraka Attack
@@darknightmike10yearsago yes! That one
Dantick09 I love Piraka Attack. I’ve beaten the game several times with every Piraka.
Bionicle the game was seriously underrated, would definitely put it over Heroes tbh
There was the pc game "bionicle heros:break out" I liked that game but I am just askin why is it not on this list?
Bionicle Heroes is on the list.
Can somesome link to a working Mata Nui Online game I-II?
I did played them somewhere, but they where glitchy!
+Attila Norbert Tátrai if you google mnog, you can play it on templar studios' website
Am I the only one who is amused by 2015 Tahu's quick appearance in the corner of the screen at 0:11?
MNOG II had the most amazing open world but I feel it lacked the atmosphere and isolation of MNOG I - the move to a third person perspective is a reason for this but also the story being much less tense (for good reason, II is literally just a look into the average life of a matoran rather than a grand adventure like I) - they’re both incredibly ambitious and wonderful titles but I think MNOG I was simply perfect because of its atmosphere.
I have bionicle heroes on my ps2 I is awesome. I loved playing mata nui online games
Bionicle Heroes is my third favorite game ever! :D
I still like MNOG I more I think. I just like Takua as a character. I never played the second one though. And only briefly played the first one
never played Rhotuka spinner challenge. How is it?
God Danmit Kahi you Maze Of Shadows Mask of Shadows
Eljay bionicle the game se puede descargar para pc? dou you know spanish no
Top ten worst characters voiced by my favourite ttv member Eljay
my favorite is bionicle heroes, I loved that game!
Can't wait for Quest for Mata Nui to come out!
How long before Quest for Mata Nui winds up on this list?
I feel like Bionicle: Mask of Creation is a Bionicle version of Calling All Mixels.
I only played MNOG II and Bionicle the game, in which both I got stuck at some point and never finished. I think I got lost in the Ko-Koro mountains in MNOG II and I couldn't get past some guy in the beginning of Bionicle the game
The number one needs a reeboot, a professional level and good work,
Aren't there only like, 10 anyways?
No, there is also [insert extremely vague and unknown video game].
+Jaxxoon R There's a ton of really bad to mediocre online games, plus some other portables that didn't make the list.
They made a ton of flash games in 2007 if I remember correctly. Also, in 2006 they had Piraka connect the dots and when you got to 10 Vezok would jumpscare you.
+Krowne mah first screamer
WAIT , the Voya Nui online game is , very , very , very similar to a mmorpg named "Dofus" who was famous in France back in 2006
Ahem, you forget clearly the best game, the free mini-disc game that was given away with cereal boxes
"Quest for the Toa" was not the actual name. It's just called "LEGO BIONICLE". I don't care what BS01 says.
