when i was given the krika set as a child, i had no idea he was a makuta. i didn't pay attention to the lore behind the characters. hell, i only recently learned that 'makuta' is a race, not teridax's official name. after watching this video, i sincerely respect krika as a makuta and as a really cool character.
Gotta love the Makuta, they were basically the fabricators of the Matoran Universe, while Mata Nui was the overseer and the great beings were the designers. There is some logic to the makuta claiming rule of the matoran universe, as they did build most of it. They created elements, and then were tasked with destroying what didn't fit or work properly. Their spiral toward evil is fascinating: In their mission to build and maintain the universe, they had to destroy the corrupted league of six kingdoms, but found themselves taking their place, so already they were growing beyond their original function. Mata Nui's negligence of the universe caused them to keep rising to the occasion, so they kept growing in strength and knowledge, until finally the lack of recognition pushed them over the edge. For a villain that started off as just the devil, and later a fallen angel, there's a surprisingly complex character development behind it.
I really wish Krika survived. It would have been cool if he ended up redeeming himself and helping the Toa. It would be even more cool if he ended up as the last Makuta and to see where that would take him.
Adam Wigley I don't want him to rally help the toa. That isn't really his thing. He was definitely one of the coolest characters ever and I wish he was more fleshed out, but he isn't a hero, he is a being so much more powerful than the toa. What would he do? Help them find a village on spherus magna? I think he should still totally be alive as gorast didn't even seem to really kill him, and maybe he could live on bota magna with the developed vorox, or do something important regarding the great beings, but he would never join the toa and live with the good guys.
I believe Teridax's motivations were split between Jealousy and Ambition. He hated that someone stood above him and couldn't settle for being second best which in a way is kinda motivational, like an underdog story but that underdog happens to be a narcissistic sociopath. He was so determined to be the best there ever was that he used the skills he had to beat God.
A primary reason the _Phantoka/Mistika_ arc is arguably my most favorite of the Bionicle storyline is for the introduction of various Makuta, each distinctive in their own ways while having some cool-looking toys to boot!
I agree with #1. Krika is my personal favorite makuta. I always felt like he had way more character than any of the other makuta, and I loved the idea that there were makuta who didn't want to follow Teridax and remain on the side of good.
Y'know, you say that jealousy is a petty motive, but how would YOU feel if you spent an eternity busting your backside protecting a race of people who don't give you any appreciation or love? (joking of course, Makuta was a narcissistic sociopath who was just as cruel as he was kind to the Matoran he governed)
I knew it from the start. Krika ACTUALLY has SYMPATHY, and actually urged Gali to leave Karda Nui, because he wasn't all anger and jealousy and murderous spite.
I'm positive Icarax would be the one to fear over Gorast, she would not have been able to defeat him on her own, there were literally three makuta fighting Icarax at one time and she was one of them.
***** yeah. but there is always the possibility of an Alternate Universe, where Krika survived. like the Matoro from the AU, where Mata Nui died (for the better, i mean, every species besides the makuta put aside their differences and started working together.)
Except there's still one more problem...one of the first things that Teridax did when he inhabited Mata Nui's robot body was command the rest of his Makuta to mass produce Rahkshi...and then killed off every single Makuta that were still alive save for Miserix, whom he wanted to keep alive for his own amusement. Even if Krika survived the storm, Teridax would have killed him off
What I find interesting about this series is how deep and diverse it is... Like, for instance, that the Makuta were actually good and followed Mata Nui, until Teridax caused an uprising... I always thought the series was just so cliche... Good vs Evil... I also always thought Teridax WAS Makuta, and not some kind of race or subclass of Mata Nui's inhabitants... I believe that this is one of the main reasons that caused Gen1's downfall... It got too complicated, and if you didn't know the lore, you would be lost... I grew up on Bionicle, but I unfortunately grew out of it... I knew how to read the language, I knew the backstory, but as I got older, specifically around Voya Nui I think, I lost track of it all... Not much longer after that, my mother made me give my collection away to my cousins. I tried to get back into Gen2 Bionicle, but I think they tried to be too cliche and child friendly with the story... It just wasn't the same... I wanted the old Rahi... I wanted the Bohrok to come back into the story (my favorite of the franchise)... I just wanted the old Bionicle back... Too bad Gen2 is gone now... :(
"Vican! I told you to kick that last experiment over the ledge and into the swamp. I can't have it screaming and melting all over the cave. I keep slipping in it."
How exactly did Spiriah get a higher place on this list than Tridax, the Makuta who literally hunted down, shadowleeched, and put in stasis the Takanuvas of various alternate universes.
Is there a Makuta trend going on? I just released a Makuta (Spear of Fusion) MOC, Metru Nui Legacy just released a Makuta (Mask of Ultimate Power) MOC, and now TTV released a top 10 Makuta video.
I actually saw #1 being Krika from a mile away, but okay... Spiriah and Vamprah are my favs; Cool list TTV! Do you think we could get a "Top 10 Bara Magna Inhabitants" video?
Bionicle Makuta Teridax meets Star Wars Teridax- JOIN THE DARK SIDE MAKUTA! ================================== Teridax (when failed)- NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! ==================================
I know this 5 years old. But thats for the nostalgia ride man. I had LOADS as a kid. Legos, bionicles anything really buildable. I had so many up untill probably 2009-2010 i still have alot of pieces scattered in a big ass box. One day hope to give them to my kids.
Don't worry too much about it but just to clarify for anybody picky like me, there are two more inaccuracies: 1 - the top armour pieces on the chest plate are attached using 4 angle bends (where the chain connects) when they should be 5 instead. 2 - the centre of the chest plate is attached incorrectly, instead of using two half busheens to hold the pin in place instead use a grey technic lift arm with one hole and one axle cross. The hole will attach to the blue peg you left exposed within the torso and the axle hole with hold the pin used the attach the centre of the chest plate. This correction will stop the chest plate from wobbling.
+Jacob Busterboy Cool, who else might voice him? And what other voice actors do you think would do well as the other Makutas, aside from the underrated Lee Tockar as Teridax.
does anybody know the mask of makuta the new different looking one on where it came from because i have it and i dont know what figure it comes from so i cant build it i put it on makuta icarax
I would love to see a 10 ten Makuta/ Kraata powers or an in depth discussion on the 4 kraata powers! I find it strange that the ridiculous power scale of most of the Bionicle characters is for the most part ignored. The Makuta are some of if not the most overpowered Beings I have ever seen come out of literally any story ever. The fact that each Makuta has 43 inherent abilities, Including the ability to possess people and live even if their bodies are killed due to being essentially organic gas, is beyond insane. I have sckowered all over every form of Bionicle book and media and have yet to find a single limit on any of the powers of almost any character. As an anime fan I have a huge love for the pseudo-scientific applications that powers have and yet these powers have next to no limitations. Any Makuta, even the Lowest of them have, essentially limited immortal for a limited time. What the time limit on that is or why they didn’t use that to survive the energy storm is beyond me. The ability to Create matter, Forces, Emotions, Other creatures, 100% accuracy. and so much more but their abilities have 0 set limits. Also the fact that some powers are stupidly redundant. It's an aspect I am suprised people ignore. The only restrictions we get are in comparison to the Toa Nuva but I still don't really know what kind of limit that is. since those are 6 beings with wildly different levels of physical and mental prowess.
since teridax wasn't no.1 im still happy that he got no.2 because unlike other villains he actually succeeded in his plans. kinda something you don't see in most franchises
+Rick Barnes he did it on an island later renamed visorak, an order of mata nui member named tobduk was the only one to make it off alive. The hordika venom makes quite a lot of sense in retrospect, the makuta like having new mutants to dissect to inspire their rahi creation, so their army of choice mutates the local animal life before they're exterminated in case anything interesting developes.
Rick Barnes no, I think he just used the normal method engineered them from viruses on that island, and then set them loose as a test, I'm just speculating on why they were given a mutagenic venom.
Can anyone help me? is there many films from like 10 years ago about bionicle. I know nothing about it I remember watching it when I was like a kid and wanted to bring back memories unless I'm completely wrong and I'm making it up in my head
+TorridPrime217 Impossible. Melding Teridax completely purged all bad thoughts and immoral things from himself, such as greed. ...Unless Okoto Makuta is him from the past.

Stone Keyboard I suppose, though I'm pretty sure the animations don't give us the full story. And even if, something still must have happened to him to make him that way... A change of masks, maybe?
I knew from the get-go that Teridax would be number 2, even though he definitely deserves 1. TTV has a tendency to try hard to surprise us, even if it derives from the"real" list.
Will someone give me a whole explanation of alternate Teridax? I had no idea any canon part of the story revolved around alternate timelines beside The Kingdom. And what about Mazeka? I didn't know he was anything more than a matoran who piloted a vehicle.
Toa_Inika-7901 Went around capturing different versions of Takanuva from various alternate universes and corrupting them, making an army of shadow Takanuvas. He was also one of the makuta that created the shadow leeches, and the Tridax pods were named after him.
Mutran also was the only other person (besides Teridax) to understand the truth about Mata Nui and how to overthrow him... just that fact alone, i would maybe put him no. 3 or 4. Really enjoyed this one, though!
when i was given the krika set as a child, i had no idea he was a makuta. i didn't pay attention to the lore behind the characters. hell, i only recently learned that 'makuta' is a race, not teridax's official name. after watching this video, i sincerely respect krika as a makuta and as a really cool character.

i just want someone who is willing to kill a whole galaxy to get a milkshake
Would've been good to see Tridax here.
+Toa Chronix What did he do? I only remember his name.
I called that ending.
What’s the music used here
Gorast: Look at my Av-Matoran arms!
Everyone else:SHHHHUUUUUUUTTTTT UUUUUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I heard Ven pronounce Bitil as BITil, I cried. I always used to pronounce it BitIL and even if it's not correct, it stuck.
He pronounced a number of things oddly in this video.
+ToaFeron I always thought Krika was pronounced "KREE- kah"
+Clownpiece I thought it was Kr-eye-kah
Ishy OQGX Bionicle name pronounciations are weird
Clownpiece
It took me ages figuring out how to say 'Hewkii' properly. (pronounced 'Hyookee')
only if krika survived the energy storms.
Why i see miserix as a fallen samurai boss?
