Hey guys. Allison Krauss has 27 Grammys in here career and 41 Grammy nominations. Only ones person male or female has more and that was some dead composer with 31. She is a phenomenal singers and musician with her roots in Bluegrass. The projects she did with Robert were fantastic. The first album got it least one Grammy.
Alison Kraus is a bluegrass superstar singer/violinist with an incredible voice who has won more Grammys than any other performer (27) of all time. When I first saw a commercial for their first album I thought it was a Saturday Night Live parody, but they make it work. This is a Lucinda Williams song. 😎
I know it's understated, but it takes technique to harmonize that well. Nice to hear Robert Plant in a different musical setting. No pyrotechnics, but a solid, flawless, live musical performance.
I love Robert singing but I would agree with your 7.9 rating. I'm a 50 year fan of his voice. His range is iconic. But this doesn't do it for me sadly. Too many songs he's sung that made me cry for the pure mysticsm of his ability. He's rangled me for 50 years! What a talent!
It may seem a little odd that Plant would sing this. But I think rockabilly would be right up his alley. I read he pretended to be Elvis when he was a kid. It almost sounds a little like 'Texas Swing' also. I'm not sure where that comes from.
@Hardtack & Beans It was nice to hear a bit of Rockabilly it does not really get too much attention on the mainstream. Loved those vintage instruments too. Cheers for popping in.
Hi guys, this wasn’t my cup of tea, but as you both said, it was inoffensive. I’ve heard of ‘Texas blue grass’ but wouldn’t know it if I heard it. Thanks for the upload 🤗🤗🤗
Inoffensive - you got that spot on. This one will entertain the residents in a Nashville retirement home on a Sunday afternoon. Beautifully performed, of course.
A bit strange to hear this style from Robert Plant, but then you realize, this guy just likes to sing. Kudos to him for branching out and still at it at 73. Didn't love it but still kudos.
@m.a. sperry Totally agree, credit where it is due, he sure can sing and maybe this was not the best example from the new album, but great to see he is still performing.
YEEHAWWWW! Nice one, Alison Krauss has a beautiful voice, a bit of an acquired taste, couldn't handle it too good when I first heard her but she grows on you. Country still makes Chuey cringe.
Strange one for them to perform on the Colbert show. It’s not even the best one off the album. To really get an idea of Alison’s voice, you should check out “When You Say Nothing At All,” or her hauntingly beautiful duet with Brad Paisley, “Whiskey Lullaby.” (Be sure to do the official music video for that one).

The MAN could sing the phone book and sound fantastic....loved this one
@jenell56
That man does indeed have a very good voice.
Thanks for watching,

This is a song by the wonderful Lucinda Williams

Definitely check out the 2 albums they have done together.

Texas grass, any colour you like or is it white mice. Forgive me, I'm having a moment.

@ donepearce, great comment, you took the words right out of my mouth.

sounds a bit like a cover of summat done by the Travelling Wilburys

@Chuey's Mama
It was nice to hear a bit of "Rockabilly" and they have great vocals.
Also nice to see Robert still rocking it.
👍
That was not too bad, it jigged along quite nicely, not offensive at all, just easy listening now where's me pipe and slippers....
@Lord Lockdowns Jukebox
Just right for an afternoon nap

Err, umm, well, best part for me was the guitar break at the end which wasn't long enough. As a fellow subscriber says, great for the retirement home.
Doesn’t sound country to me. Sounds Southern Rock, Rockabilly, even some surfer music vibes.
