Allison has one of the most beautiful voices in any genre. You really need to hear her sing Ghost in this House. Absolutely gorgeous.
Or :WHEN YOU SAY
NOTHING AT ALL"
Ghost in this House is my favorite
I always say that, if there is a heaven and angels there who sing, they must sound like Alison Krause.
@@chrisdutton2975 If there was ever a song that sounds like a Heavenly Choir, it's "Touch" by Sarah McLachlan. 🙏✌❤
ua-cam.com/video/0cwYGJziZNg/v-deo.html
GHOST IN THIS HOUSE..kills... it's SO good...
Allison Krauss is a multi grammy award winner. Her music with Union Station is great.
27 Grammy Awards to be exact.
Saying she is a multi-grammy award winner is like saying Audie Murphy has some medals. At one time she had the most. Only Beyonce and Quincy Jones have more now.
Absolutely and when she performs with them she plays the violin which she is very skilled at.
The official video fills in gaps in the story. Really enhances the story...
Allison does a cover of "When you say nothing at all" with her band, Union Station, that is excellent. She has a wonderful talent The entire group is great.
Please do this song!
her cover was good, yes. But nowhere near Keith Whitleys.
@@buzzkillington3840 I would call that a matter of opinion. She is much prettier than Whitley.
Live!
Guuuuuurl.
You have GOT to do the ORIGINAL video. I think it's on VEVO.
Like a movie. Directed by Ricky Schroeder.
You will BAWL!
Allison Krause is one of the greatest female Bluegrass/Country artists of our time. Her rendition of Down to the River To Pray is stunning in it's simplicity. Her beautiful cover of Keith Whitley's, When You Say Nothing at All, is my ringtone for the love of my life, my husband Trey ❤️!
~ Lesa on my husband's account
Well said. Btw: I'm Teri, using my hubby's account as well.
Allison was Brad's original partner on this song when he recorded it. She has the voice of an angel. Try "Just A Ghost In This House", or "When You Say Nothing At All"......Outstanding!
Fun fact I think you'll enjoy, Britt. Alison sang backup on nearly every Dolly Parton album for a whole decade. Their harmonies are phenomenal
Allison voice is GOLD!!!
Alison started recording at 14 and has won 27 Grammys. The studio recording/video of this one is hard to beat.
This is the original duet partner for this song. The video is a must watch.
The FULL STORY is in the official music video
It's impossible for me to hear this song without visualizing the official video for this. The story that it tells is so powerful. I really hope that you do a reaction to the original video.
Being a veteran I can relate to the video. After spending 18 months overseas my wife left divorce papers in our home. I had a couple of hours to pack and move out. After 6 months of drinking I realized it wasn’t my fault. Being home 9 months out of 5 years we just drifted apart. Also buying underwear for another man didn’t help, 😢
Yes, the video is a Must:)
Anyone who has heard Allison sing, knows exactly what the angels sound like.
Now you should watch Vince Gill joined by Alison and Ricky Skaggs singing at Carnegie Hall, doing Vince's most famous song, Go Rest High on That Mountain, harmonies for days in that. She has something like 27 Grammys and is a blue grass and country legend at a young age already, plus she's even crossed genres and collaborated with Robert Plant of Led Zepplin fame. If her vocal talents weren't enough, she is an award winning fiddle player too.
Just be careful to not do the George Jones funeral performance if you don't want to catch all the feels
Love this duite. Beautiful country voice you must do Sugarland and Jennifer Nettles. STAY is Grammy winner
Let me start with I don't listen to country music. But after seeing the great movie "Oh Brother where art thou" I became an Allison Krause and the Union Station fan even seeing them in concert. Her voice is what I think angels sound like. If I ever win the lotto I'm paying her to record some of the songs I've written.
Same. And saw her in concert twice.
Allison’s voice is what I imagine the angels in heaven sounds like
The official video has the whole story!
Allison was a child protege on the fiddle. What a talent.
the official video is absolutely one of the best video's ever. Allison has one of the purest voices ever, almost haunting. one of the best songs ever
This songs just smacks me in my heart EVERY TIME I hear it (and the official video makes it even more impactful). It's such a sad reminder that mistakes are often purposeful, but the pain that they cause is not, and the resulting guilt from that can just eat at people as much as the pain from the initial act. It's often sooooo easy to blame someone for what they did that could lead to such a tragic event, but sometimes we need to make sure that they are doing okay as well--intense emotional pain (hurt or guilt) can be equally devastating.
That first line "She put him out, like the burnin' end of a midnight cigarette" paints such a picture. Brad isn't always sad, though. Try out "I'm Gonna Miss Her", and wait for the twist.
Or "He Didn't Have To Be"
Or 'Ticks' or 'I'm Just a guy' 'Alcohol' and many others
The first I heard this song I was driving, I had to pull over because I was bawling. A good song will make you feel some kinda way.
My favorite Alison Krauss songs are "The Lucky One" and "Baby, Now That I Found You". She is a great fiddle player.
Allison has a one of a kind stunning voice it's captivating
If you want to hear Allison in another duet... Several years ago, she did a cover of Kieth Whitley's "When You Say Nothing At All".. Somebody went back, and spliced the two versions together into one duet song... It is very impressive and well done, since Kieth passed away in 1989, when Allison was barely started in her career, and if I recall correctly, she was still a teenager. I am unaware if they ever even met or not.
Kieth Whitley was a PERFECT example of what a country singer should sound like... He was married to Lorrie Morgan, a second generation country singer who was really popular in the '90s... She did a really good cover of Kieth's song "Don't Close Your Eyes"... And yes, she does have her own library of songs too.
Hello J.S., Kieth is spelled Keith and Alison only has one "l".. ♠W.G.
After George Strait, Keith Whitley is my second favorite male country singer. My late husband and I would dance together in our living room to his greatest hits.
Both gone too soon and missed terribly.❤❤
They are the original vocalists on this song. She does a beautiful "When you say notung at all" which was a Keith Whitley song. She is know for her traditional blue grass music. Beautiful angelic voice.
Allison has the voice of an angel, my favorite female vocalist. Great songs suggested by everyone below, but my favorite is her duet "Missing You" with John Waite.
Vince Gill, Allison Krause, Emmy Lou Harris, and pretty much Dolly... All amazing singers on their own but they can do harmonies like ain't no body's business... I know I've forgotten some... but those are the ones off the top of my head.
Love your reactions, and I’ll agree with many of the commenters here, you need to watch the official music video. You’ll get the reason all of this happened!
Allison Krause, “when you say nothing at all”
And listen to Leanne Rhimes “blue” and “cowboy’s sweetheart”
Allison Krouse is an amazing singer. She's more known for Bluegrass music but she had a few mainstream country hits. She sounds just as good live.
Britt, Alison Krauss is best known for her Bluegrass music. Her bluegrass band is Union Station. Alison has, at least, won 27 Grammy Awards. 'She has also won 14 International Bluegrass Awards, nine Country Music Association Awards, two Gospel Music Association Awards, two CMT Music Awards, two Academy of Country Music Awards and one Canadian Country Music Award.'
Two more Brad songs I URGE you to review: "When I Get Where I'm Going" with Dolly Parton . . . and "Waitin' On a Woman" with Andy Griffith. Both so powerful and so true to life. Great reaction to this one. You rock.
I legit fall in love every time i hear Alison Krauss sing. The woman's voice would make the angels jealous
Allison Krauss has been my favorite female country/bluegrass artist for years.
Britt, please watch the official video!
Allison's voice is straight from heaven. She is truly amazing!
I love your reacts I can't quit watching you it is so fun to see the wonder in your discovery of the music that was the 60 70 80 as a 65 yo and having had the privilege of living through all that great music. It's so cute watching you. I try to surprise my daughters with music they have never heard and get the same reaction... thanks for your sweet genuine personality
That redhead's name is Caylee Hammack. I just went and saw your other reaction. And you're right, they played this version at a slightly faster tempo. Alison was Brad's original partner in this song, though, and on the album version, the tempo is slower, like the version Brad did with Caylee.
Also noted that Caylee seems to have a very strong "Dolly" influence. The way she delivered some of her consonants, particularly some of the "S" sounds....that's a Dolly Parton thing. Reba McEntire does it a fair bit, too, but I bet *she* got it from Dolly Parton too.
If you decide to watch the official video (which really adds to the song's story), prepare yourself. Bring Kleenex. You will cry.
There are some songs you can listen to over and over and over and over and love it each time. This is one of those songs.
So you should definitely watch the video, it adds so much to the song. Now I'm going to voice a controversial opinion, I'm not a huge Alison Krause fan at least for the country genre. Where she truly shine in my opinion is in bluegrass... And she is one of the best harmony singers I've ever heard. If you want an example of that check out Vince Gill at Carnegie hall singing Go Rest High.... But make sure you have tissues and your church towel, but that is just my opinion
You ALWAYS put out great material. Thank you!
Yes,country music has some Amazing singers… Allison Krause can deliver the most tender interpretations… do go further with her. Also Emmy Lou Harris… and Trio with Emmy Lou, the great Linda Ronstadt and Dolly! They are phenomenal. You have got to explore Linda as. a solo artist. She will knock your socks off because she can sing ANYTHiNG! Pop, rock, Motown, bluegrass, country, amazing traditional Mexican songs, great American songbook with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra that fid some of the best Sinatra and… light opera on Broadway!
Go further with George Strait… and do not miss Vince Gill.
Allison has one of the most beautiful voices I've heard. She is known for bluegrass.
Any LIVE cut with Ms. Krauss and her absolutely world class band of musicians, like herself, Union Station, (aka AKUS when they play together) is a MUST watch. Especially Dan Tyminski on Dobro or guitar.
Another great duet I think you will LOVE is Brad Paisley and Dolly Parton - "When I Get Where Im Going".
They are both amazing. Brad is a phenom on guitar, and awesome lyricist. Good choice.
Hi Britt, glad you got the original version with Allison Krause, I never heard of a voice like Allison Krause, brad Paisley is a favorite, both have great hits, please do brad Paisley 'he didn't have to be' my life story of stepdad meeting my mother when I was little, and he was there when my first daughter was born ect.., and 'we danced' it's almost exactly like when met my late wife, loving it girl, tyvm tc
As others have said please, please watch the official video that goes with this song. It elevates the meaning of this already amazing song to a whole other level. Have your crying towel ready though.
When I was seven years old, I had every childhood illness plus a few others. I also had my tonsils removed that year. One of those night I was very sick and I really believed that I was going to die, I dreamed that a beautiful angel talked to me and then held me tight and sang in my ear. Since then, I have heard three women sing that sounded like her. Allison Krauss, Patty Griffin and Norah Jones. Their voice always give me comfort.
You should react to more Brad. Start with two songs from his first album: "He Didn't Have To Be" and "I'm Gonna Miss Her." And, with Brad, always do the video. Many of them are all-star extravaganzas. They're all great.
Oh, no!! You have to watch the music video!!
Thank for reacting to the original.
Britt, in country, the videos tell a great story.
Allisoin began in Bluegrass and has reined in both that genre and in Country ever since. Love both these singers. Glad you enjoyed them as well.
Ms Krauss has a great voice not only for harmonies but for solo work and can play a great fiddle. For years she has been been in a battle with Beyonce for female with most grammies which Ms Krauss now has around 27, Bey having 32 currently. Strongly suggest exploring her solo work as well with the band Union Station and her latest work with Mr Robert Plant who has a few songs with a small rock band Led Zeppelin.
Brad sings his song "welcome to the future" live at the white house in front of Obama....I've not seen anyone react to it and it is a very emotional performance for Brad as he fights back tears toward the end
BrittReacts you need to watch the official video it really tells the story. Please do another video on this song and watch the official music video.
Sis, your killing me watching these unofficial videos LOL...these songs would take on a whole new meaning for you, if you just watch the official videos. :)
I agree with you up to a point, the videos definitely add another layer to some of these songs. However, the songs stand strongly on their own, especially the story songs. also, when Britt ISN'T watching the "official" video, she is usually watching a LIVE performance, which just showcases/enhances the vocal strength of the performers.
This song breaks my heart everytime! ♡
”Cowgirls Don't Cry” by Brooks & Dunn, this one is one of my go-tos. Reminds me of my Great Grandpa that thought me to ride horses. And was the father figure in my life, died when I was young and unexpectedly.
Allison has one of the purest voices I have ever heard.
Allison Krause is a phenomenal blue grass artist!
Her album "A Hundred Miles or More" has this and whole bunch more of emotional doozies. There's one called "Molly Bán (Bawn)" that I heard 15 years ago and I'm still not over it.
It did in grace win the 2006 CMA Song Of The Year. It was also certified double platinum by the RIAA. Written by Jon Randall, who does a solo version with a string ensemble and his acoustic guitar. It is hauntingly beautiful.
You definitely need to listen to the version sung by the writer of this song. His name is Jon Randall who in my opinion is one of the most underrated vocalist in country music. His version is so beautifully haunting.
Brad is a local guy who has done real well. He still shows his respect to his West Virginia roots.
One of my cousins had Allison Krauss' "When You Say Nothing at All" sung at her wedding. Lovely song.
Bold move. Two reactions to different versions of the same song in a week. I like it, you're keeping it fresh. Allison Krause has a spectacular voice. And yes she sang the original. I always thought if I could hear an angel sing, it would sound like Allison.
Brad paisley and Carrie underwood - “remind me “ !!! A must listen and see 😊
Alison Kraus - the voice of an angel on this earthly sphere. Incomparable!
This was a Keith Whitney song with Lorrie Morgan, his wife. Listen to the original, it'll break your heart. Keith was an alcoholic and died from it. Lorrie Morgan lives on today, I believe broken from his passing. He was a great song writer and singer, a more raspy but great singer.
brad paisley "me neither" is another great one.
They are so classy together!
He has some great funny videos too. Please do the official video to “Alcohol” or “I’m going to miss her”
Allison's voice is simply angelic
Allison Krauss is a Bluegrass star with the voice of an angel.
Allison and Keith Whitley's duet of "When You Say Nothing At All" is exquisite. I heard it for the first time on the radio, in the 1990's, and to this day, she has the purest, most bell-like, Lyric Soprano voice of any female singer, in my opinion. Check it out. BTW, Keith Whitley wrote this song.
Allison also sings with Robert Plant from Led Zepplin, it's magical!
Allison also duet with Robert Plant. Released the 2nd album last year. always enjoyed her with Union station also
Allison has a voice of an angel
Brad said he wanted Alison for the original album version because of her angelic voice.
Alison sings just about everything Southern -- bluegrass, country, blues.
Totally fantastic song really- in so many ways.
"Find the beauty in the tragety?" THAT'S DEEP!
The girl can sing plus play a mean fiddle
Alison Kraus is blue grass, they put her in country category but she is the queen of blue grass music!
Just putting this out there... Brad is one of the best guitar players out there right now.
Oh honey you needed to watch the video version. 😔❤
Great reaction Britt! Alison sings like an angel. She held the record for most grammies won by a female until Beyonce passed her a couple years ago. Others have mentioned some great songs by her.
Allison Krauss has the voice of an angel.
Alison Krauss got her beautiful southern voice in Illinois.
Would love to see you do a reaction to this with video originally put out with he and Alison singing. It's heart wrenching.
Just as a side note: Allison is also a champion bluegrass fiddle player.
Love her voice, that of an Angle! Brad ain’t that bad!😊👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
They sound really good together...
They are both great artist at what they do, hey Britt, I would like to request a song by the group Alabama, the song is " FEELS SO RIGHT" REALLY THINK YOU WILL ENJOY IT THANKS
I love Allison. Her voice is effortless.
Allison Krauss was a super strong Bluegrass singer, as well.
