- The guitar that started it all on my channel. The Ibanez MTM2 gets some love and treatment from me. The Ibanez MTM2 was the Mick Thompson of Slipknot signature Ibanez guitar back in the day when he was with them.

New video idea! Let me know what you think and suggestions on what guitar I should do next!
This would be awesome to see you venture through 👊🏽
Nice fart there, juicy, deadly, violent, more farts! And yes, great video idea! As to what guitar to do next, i dont know, maybe one which means a lot to you besides that mtm2
Yes!!!!
Love it, great video ideaaaaaa! In this one...the guitar that you started the UA-cam videos, Ola the nostalgic 🤘🏻
Best regards from Brazil 🇧🇷
Ola can you redo the boss katana and yamaha thr.
Coffee with Mick Thomson, that sounds like a dream
Coffee with jim roots
@@user-hp3zt7ex7u mick
More like coffee with Mick Gordon
Coffee with slipknot
@bds_m guy da sic Do you think they like it hot or iced?
What if Ola bought the newest Jackson Mick Thomson signature guitar and compare it? 🤔
As someone who has been eyeing his new sign for awhile, I would LOVE to see this
@@kylelyons6088 If you're eyeing it, don't hesitate. I tried a few, they're really good. REALLY good.
I have the pro model from him, don't doubt it's really good!
@@aliascent it's been in my top 3 for guitars I'm looking into. My only hang up is I'm not a fan of the bridge system. I love that it's a hard tail instead of a floating trem, but I just prefer a standard string thru hard tail. But I'm definitely keeping an eye on it because it hits every other box. Black, reverse pointy headstock, no inlays on an ebony board, lone volume knob. Thanks for heads up!
And Jim root
52 years of age and I still find a wet fart sound hilarious.
Dadofthreemonsters me too at 54!
Ola drinks a lot of coffee, so that might not have been a "sound"...😒
lol...I'm also 52 years of age...and I fuckin rewound the video about six times to hear the fart sound again and again.
Please help me.
Got you all beat!
61 here and and a nice juicy wet fart is the pinnacle of comedy ..
Especially the spontaneous authentic ones ..
And that one was authentic!
Generous amounts of coffee does wonders for loosening the bowels ..
My '96 RG570 has been in storage for far too long ..
Need to dust the baby off, plug it in and with generous amounts of my favorite java; fart away to the ultimate ecstasy ..
It doesn't get any better than that .. (except for hot sex)
But good timing makes it even funnier XD
Mick Thomson on Coffee with Ola would be so awesome.
As far as I know, Mick uses that bridge for the tuning stability and sustain.
Ákos Kovács 👍🏻and the palm-muting feel.
Yeah that was the real reason
Yup, the floyd has the perfect palm muting feel. Can't stand anything else.
How is a bridge like suposed to produce more sustain?
Raphael Lippi less parts hitting the strings basically, and on top of that u can replace the saddles and block with brass if u want. It’s noticeably but tbh I don’t look for it lol.
Stringing a floyd bridge with the balls to the headstock has actually blown my mind Jesus Christ why did I never think of that
I was doing that back in the 90s.
That’s how ESP custom shop and I think Caparison ship their guitars from the factory 🏭
That’s how Tom morello does it and he lets the balls flop in the wind onstage
@@lancekovacs9298 damn me too brother
Ola asking Mick to come to the "coffie with Ola" and next saying that his signature neck profile is shit XD
Wszyc I was thinking the same 😂
Luckily he would be in the clear to agree with Ola as he is no longer sponsored by them!
👍🏼 this is a video to watch 😘👍🏼
Sergiroth number 1 stalker right here Hahahaha 👌🏼🤪
i came in here as 34th commenter :D
What else do you do with a video?
Should call this segment “Cleaning out my Closet”
Christopher Marshall or going back in time
Scooping out the glory hole
There’s got to be a guitar wall hanger company out there willing to hook you up so you can display all of your guitars though out the office.
Hey Ola! Just wanted to let you know, MTM2 is the reason I found your channel all those years ago. It just so happens I also had MTM2 as my second electric guitar (and still use it to this day). The playability is great, it basically just needs some decent pickups. I.e. I really like the thin neck. Glad to see you keeping it around though :)
Your Solar guitars are awesome, well made and just great feeling and playing man, but Ibanez RG's will always have a special place in my heart.
And now he plays Jackson , always loved these Ibanez models.
I remember this guitar so well! It’s amazing you took it out again!
Love this series. Please keep doing it
I'm watching Ola drinking coffee, drinking my coffee. So... I'm having a coffee with Ola?
I remember watching your videos years back before all the members and huge amount of subs. Nice to see you revisit this
please make more of these! love to listen to the guitar stories
Hey Ola! I've been watching for the last 8-9 years and loved your earlier tones just as much as today's tones. Seeing this Ibanez come back out was a nice treat!
Frst guitars always gives this kind of feeling, most of the time they are not crazy but you have just some attachement to it. Great vid man !
I was just checking these out yesterday. Love that he just put this video out
Yes, more of these videos!
Nice shirt... man of good taste!
Holy crap, that Ibanez guitar sounds amazing!
I just ordered one of those Axion Label 6 string Ibanez guitars with the Fishman fluence pickups and reverse headstock, that Mick Thompson guitar reminds me of that one. Ibanez makes really bullet proof guitars, you just can’t go wrong . Ola, great video and I love your channel and always look forward to watching the next one.
Your FAQ videos are really fun to watch. Btw, your wife Louise is absolutely beautiful and seems like an amazing human being, you really won the lottery with her at your side.
Great stuff! We're all on this musical journey and some of our older gear has a lot of history and memories tied to them. More videos like this please my Brola!
Great idea! Can't wait for the upcoming vids
I remember being a little kid and wanting an IbanezMtM model just because Ola had one, haha. I'm 21 now and I'm sure my Solar is much better!
Really,,.,😳🤪🤗
My first Metal oriented guitar was an MTM1 with Blackouts and I loved that thing. Maybe do more vids on your Strictly 7s or your Jem or the Petrucci
I just love that he is doing a full set up....lotta tips I learned thanks to this! Thank you Ola!
I love this series idea! Please keep it going!
yo, the new Mick Thomson model is sick, its a straight joy to play. should totally compare them
Hey Ola how about a video on Mick's Jackson signature model? Would be interesting to hear your opinion as well as a comparison to this old model.
Ola stay humble as always, love you man.
This format is great i could watch it all day!
Oh yeah, Ibanez does have guitars that you can remember the name of.
Ibanez SA260FM-TGB
I always have to look it up, whenever I want to tell people what guitar I am using...
@@EsEhKajust say an ibanez SA260. FM is just flame maple and TGB is the finish. Would you say I have a Fender Stratocaster in Olympic white with a maple top? No you'd just say strat
@Jose Soto low key love this argument now
@EsEhKa lol...I have the Ibanez SA160FM-TGB....and just now I had to pick it up and look at the back of the headstock to get the name right. :-)
As someone who owns 7 Ibanez guitars...trust me when I say "I feel your pain".
I have 4 ibbys. I just say the model, I don't go into the finish and hardware abbreviations. Thats all the extra letters are for in the names. Haha
I got an
sz320 (ex model white with black binding)
Rg2 (rg2ex2 - white with black binding)
Rga71al (axion label rga 7string indigo aurora burst)
Rgd71al (axion label rgd 7 string black aurora burst multi scale)
Coffee with Jim Root! Total gear head and his strat is amazing.
That’s great idea for video series! Keep them coming Ola!! 💪💪
The first two minutes being almost a One Shot makes me happy. Good job, Louise or whoever did the camera work!
Nice dude! Definitely do more of these. "Guitar tech time, with Ola". Maybe do some before and after where you change out pickups etc...
Noice storage you got there mate. Instantly put a smile on my face :)
Love this idea for a series. We learn your history with the guitar you pick for the video while you’re setting it up and then after the demo you give pros and cons of that particular model. I honestly hope you do more of these
That is cool looking guitar, need more this kind of video Ola
I been stringing all my Floyds with the ball ends on the tuners for over 25 years. Yes, there are some folks who feel that doing it that way may somehow damage the tuning posts, but honestly I have never ever had or noticed any issues for all this time. Just make sure you wind the strings UNDER the ball ends for maximum stability - those ball ends will never ever move. And be sure that on the bridge side you run the strings past the end of the bridge locking keys plus a little bit before you cut, just to be safe. Another good idea I stole along the way is to use a toothpick and dab a drop or two of WD40 on the fine tuners every now and then and then work it in. And of course you should set the fine tuners all to about halfway every time you restring.
Nice guitar Ola - I don't recall seeing that kind of screw locking bolt on the Floyd business end before. Obviously it words to block off the trem - is it adjustable in terms of height so you can adjust the angle of the Floyd bridge? The stiff plastic brush/toothbrush is a must as is some air cleaner and while you're at it, some contact cleaner for the pots/output jack as well.
I think this is a GREAT series Ola. Go through your gear and do some setups - yes, there are a ton of setup vids on youtube, but like money, you can never have enough of those, especially if they are more recent. Plus right now, with folks under lockdown, doing guitar maintenance is both productive and for me, quite calming and zen. :)
And ya gotta get a bottle of Dunlop 65 fretboard oil for them rosewood boards - one bottle will last you a lifetime :)
Cheers and stay safe!
Mtm2 is a great Guitar.... I have one too and I love Ibanez. The Reversed Headstock is br000tal sexy 😍.
Yes I remember the good old times with the savage Amp and Mtm2... Awesome...
I have the white Mtm2 and changed the pups into passive custom pickups in white.
Great vid! I would like to see more of these vids. Real nice to see you go back down memory lane
Definitely want to see more of these vids
I have been rocking an ESP Horizon standard FRII for a while. That's what I wanna see haha. Or an IC400. Iceman haha
Be aware: hard brushes can damage your paint job.
Love it! Can't wait to see the white and chrome Washburn. 😍😍
Massive amount of nostalgia with that guitar man. Still remember the vids with this beast
2:59
It's called a "fixed bridge", Ola, not "fixated - fixated means obsessed 😄
ESL. What can you do?
Ola’s first language isn’t English. How many languages do you speak ?
It's a mistake, but take in mind that his first language isn't English.
„I’ll make this guitar sound as good as possible”
(puts new strings on)
It's been a daily driver for god knows how long, how much work can it really need?
@@richardhunter9779 Polish the frets and oil the fretboard. This guitar definitely needs it. Yesterday I changed the strings on my bass that was sitting for a long time like Ola's guitar and it looks and feels like a new better guitar. Also it's a cheap bass so the fret edns were sharp so I rounded them off. It takes a lot of time but it's worth it.
Loved this idea for a series. And thanks for the brush tip fir cleaning the bridge. That's brilliant.
Sick idea for videos. Looming forward to more of these
I yelled at my monitor when you didn't polish those frets or clean the fretboard lol ;)
Lol he literally said he didn't have any lemon oil or something
11:08 essentially you are playing the book of heavy metal by Dream Evil.
it's more like The Healers by Testament
Would like to see more of these! Great video Ola 🤘🏻🎸
Ola uploads. I leave everything and I watch !
Where's that Dunlop sponsorship when you need it?
Me right now:
*_Watching vikings in quarantine_*
I love this idea! At the beginning of this whole quarantine thing I started to go through my guitar collection on camera and talk about them!
fun to ear your history behind your guitars.. continu having fun . take care all
6:55 classic ghs boomers 🙄
I love this. Talking about the guitar while setting it up.
I love your videos and didn't expect to see your old guitars again. Thanks for the amazing content!
A great idea for videos! Looking forward to more!
Hey Ola, it is really a great idea to present your old guitars. It is interesting and makes a lot of fun to watch you doing this.
Greetings
Oliver
I bought that guitar back in the day when you played it in your videos, loved the feeling of the neck and the blackout pickups!
i remember watching your content back then when i was in high school. Still watching your content 13 years later. you're a legend bro 👍
Still have that same guitar. Sounds amazing.
This was my first guitar ever. I still have it, love it!
Great video! Love the idea when you show when your taking care of the guitar and talk about what the guitar meens to you.
Selling guitars can be really liberating feeling, because when it's not your bag and you don't connect with it, and someone else does have a connection and special feeling, then you helped spread some happiness 👍
Every video you do is fun and informative. I like this one.
this is really soothing hearing you talk and seeing you maintain your guitar!
It's like Ola's new asmr series. It kinda had a Bob Ross vibe to it.
I like the idea of the series. I get very sentimental about some my old guitars too. Either way the trip down memory lane is great! Reminds you where you started.
Keep this video series going!
I remember you using that guitar in your videos its killer to see it again Ola 👊
Definitely 👍 the new video series!....let's see and hear all of your guitars.. i also have a nostalgia for my guitars I've had for years...the stories they tell....anyway very refreashing...please keep them coming.
Dude, loved this video series 🖤
Great idea to see the history of your guitar collection. Keep em coming! 🤘🎸
More of this !!!
soulful video, tnx Ola
Definitely enjoyed the new series
One of my dream guitars..
Love the guitar Ola. I have the Ibanez rg2ex2. Love those guitars. Have a great weekend.
I love this video idea, I would definitely watch more!
Yeah, I'd love to hear all of Ola's stories about his guitars. His collection is impressive.
More vids of this kind pls!!! Love it 🙌😁😁
That’s when I heard about you Ola when you did the Premier Guitars demo videos I love seeing what other things are out there for guitarists 👌🏻👍👏🏻
Ah I remember this guitar on your videos in the earlier days. It’s great that you’re bringing it out again
I love the MTM2. I always wanted one but never got round to it. Stunning.
That coffee really started doing it's job at the end of the video! Loved this video style, different guitars, different stories and set ups behind them. Keep it up!
Its a great idea! Keep going! I liked this one, so.... yeah! More!
i had one ! loved fixed floyd rose
Loved this video, would like to see a lot more
That guitar is a beautiful beast!
I like it ola, not much the string change part but didnt skip it because you talked through. Great video as always!
Mick is my favorite modern player.
That guitar tone sounds massive and crushing \m/
