Hello from Florida
\,,,/ The Best \,,,/
I was ran over by a truck at 15. After waking up after being in a coma for 3 months and on life support. And never being ble to Skateboard again. My dad bought me a SlimeDime Washburns and a Peavy Mack all tube head and a Peavy 412 cab. He rolled it into Doernbechers Hospital while i was still there for rehabilitation for 3 months and i learned how to play guitar in the hospital with a Dimebag slime dime and a 412 tube amp. I had a Pantera tab book and by the time i got out i was able to play alot of Pantera riffs. That guitar and Pantera saved my life and got me through some of the hardest times of my life. Sadly some crack head stole my guitar when i was robbed at gunpoint :(. I have missed that guitar sooo much. i keep hoping i will run into some day. It had a chip on the head stock from my buddy grabbing it to play and the ceiling fan was so low it hit the head stock :'( and chipped it. But yea i cant believe the hospital let my dad or me have that guitar in there. I would crank that thing up sooooo loud and you could here it out in the parking lot. I would get the other kids coming over and we would all sit and rock out and hang out together and i was happy to get all these other kids into Pantera. But there was 1 kid that came into my room at like 2am and was like Can i play your guitar in my room and just hang out with it. And i was like Hell yea brother. he just wanted to jam out with no one looking lol. yea good memories with that guitar. I just wish i still had it.
That's tough dude :( it is great though that you really saw the light at the end of the tunnel thanks to pantera and guitar!
Great story. I've never heard anyone say a genre of music saved their life as often as I hear people say it about metal
Beautiful history bro, moved me
@@henriq0176 thank you bro.
Awesome story dude thanks for sharing
I have never heard any one call DR strings "Doctor stings" but as far as Im concerned they are Doctor stings now lmao
I've also wondered about that, but when Ola says it, it just feels natural, that's what they are called, like it has always been =)
That’s what we called em in the music store I worked at.. “Doctor Dimebag” or “Doctor Drop” haha
cringed when he said it like that haha
"Dee Are" strings are now Doctor strings. Yes. :)
Went to Guitar Center a while ago and was looking for DR Black Beauties and called them Doctor strings and the guy helping me had no idea what I was talking about.
This sounds absolutely killer. Dime's tone is so unique and you nailed it once again with that lovely looking beast of a guitar.
It’s easy when using the dime plugin, it’s a little harsh but it’s pretty on point with the CFH sound
That dime plugin tone sounded closer than any pedal, amp or other plugin I've heard tho good job man
I love headstocks that look like you can perforate people's intestines with. Pointy headstocks are best headstocks
Besides open book headstock
Stick em with the pointy end...
I love Explorers a ESP MH Headstocks
@@rtomas47 you should check out the og 80s ESP mirage headstock. It's like a Jackson headstock but less steep
i prefer headstocks that look like hockey bats. jackson, charvel, kramer, hamer and such.
DR packs string like that to reduce packaging. Basically they put two entirely different strings together so you can easily tell which one is which without packaging each string individually.
An alternative would be to color the ball end like D'Addario does.
A few classical string brands do this too, putting one treble and one bass together to prevent the wire from breaking down
Agreed!!
I don’t know if this has anything to do with it, but this is the exact order you should cross-tune a Floyd Rose if you’re using the the cross-tuning technique (which you should)
Federico Chachagua Ramírez Well all of that was just super insightful.
Federico Chachagua Ramírez what do you mean?
Wouldn't we all have loved to be able to see a Coffee with Ola featuring Dime.......There's a parallel universe out the somewhere where it happened, and I want a peek at it
Met Dime & Vinnie 2 months before his end and it was the greatest day. Was a teenager and a little tipsy by the time they arrived. Bought a beer to drink w Dime but fkd up and gave it to Vinnie that had a case right by him. Not many teens can say they bought him a beer. They signed a hi hat bc none of my guitars I'd ever let get written on. Dime said "Your never playing this thing again!" and began slamming the fuck out of it on the table with the biggest smile on his face. Was great to see that. Didnt get my Dime'O Flame until 5 or 6 years ago but it's a beast. Saved a Razorback Explosion from an awful owner a few years later. Its beat the fuck up but the front managed to stay almost perfect. Had to take the floyd completely apart to clean it, it was filthy dirty. Fun guitars.

Exactly why I use Randall amps. Not only are they kick ass for metal, but everytime I see my amps with the Randall Logo I think of Dimebag and smile.
I know you said you're not going to do a Solar guitar in a star/ML shape... but I REALLY wish that you would
I don’t think I’ve ever seen ola play with one guitar tome for more than 2 minutes. Very enjoyable to watch actually. ❤️
Really surprised Solar doesn’t offer a shape like this
Maybe bc they’d get sued, but they for sure should make a Solar ML
ed is not here: No, because like you said they would get sued.
Ola said in one of his Sunday vids that he wouldn't out of respect for Dime
Nicholas Nguyen The ML shape was originally a Dean Zelinsky creation .Since he sold Dean guitars to Armadillo Enterprises, “Dean” guitars have suffered from quality control issues, and the company’s appetite to go after money has increased so I would bet if they saw another body style come out just like the ML they would try to sue. Ola knows that. Not saying what he said about not doing it out of respect wasn’t true, just saying this is part of it as well.
Love watching u Ola, it's like I'm hangin out with my friends when I was a kid just jamming and screwing around ❤️
I love the look of this guitar!
The “My Guitar” series is definitely my favorite series that you do. Keep them coming!
This never gets old. Such a great guitar shape.
This is absolutely one of my favorite videos that you have done.
I like all the different video series Ola does and of course still look forward to every Sunday’s video, but this no doubt has became my favorite series of them all now.
Man you shred so hard. Honestly love watching you play Pantera riffs. I recently found your page and I was stoked to find a seemingly endless supply of Pantera riffage. It’s been a joy to watch. Keep it up!! Fan from California.
Love these videos Ola. I love em all but seein your personal way of stringing, tuning, and cleaning is an awesome insight. I've gotten back into guitar, after years of only playin drums, from your videos. I kno u dont see yourself as a "pro" but u inspire me more to play than anyone and I'm sure I'm not only speaking for myself. We love you! Keep this shit up!
I have to say, visually this is my favorite guitar out of all your collection. I've always loved the look of these Dimebag Stealth guitars. Gorgeous instrument!
Love this series so much! Always quality content Ola.
DD tone, riffs and sound was mindblowing . So different than everybody else ...So unique...
I freakin' *LOVE* this series ! 💖
Awesome video Ola! Thanks for sharing this. Dimebag was my inspiration to practice my guitar as a teenager and by far my biggest influence. You totally made my day with this video!🤘😁👌
Dude, that beard is getting serious. Noice
Channeling some serious Bjorn Gelotte
Haha i thought the same thing
Just realized a lot of you tone comes from your style I can still hear it even with dimes tone.
Ola, I love that you set up your own guitars. Your videos are always great. The 'meows' had me laughing, as did the rest of the commentary! And of course, your playing is incredible.
Washburn Dimebag guitars will always reign supreme. Love these vids. glad I have one.
It is so. damn. beautiful. I've loved this model ever since I first set eyes on it in a guitar magazine ages ago.
Every time I watch a Dime video of yours I have to go listen to Pantera immediately after the video. Love the Dime stuff keep up the awesome videos Ola.
Everytime I watch this video truly enjoy it.. thank you OLA you are the man
Thanks for videos with Dimebag guitars!
This is without a doubt my favorite Dime guitar. I really hope one day Rita lets Washburn reissue these.
Dude ur deffinitly one of my favs to watch on youtube playin guitar as a huge dime fan as well...keep killing it dude from newfoundland Canada...Cheers
Dimebag would be proud😂
This guitar reminds me of Achokarlos. I used to watch all of his covers about 10 years ago.
Dude same here. That's a blast from the past. I remember he did a cover with the Korean guy for revolution is my name. There is also Heinekkken and he had one too.
omg, you brang achokarlos back to my mind, thanks :D
He still do upload videos on his YT channel.
Still uploading and going strong!
My absolute favorite Dime guitar! Massive sound!
My absolute dream guitar man you're lucky ola
RIP Dime, he was one of a kind for sure. Cool to own a 3st as a tribute too 🤟
Ola dude you are so cool, you inspired me to setup and modify all of my guitars as a keep busy during covid .Omg that guitar sounds amazing keep up the great work maybe call up some people to organize a sick dime tribute band for the next Dimebash.
Love it. I have the 2st and it was my journey to find one to add to my Washburn dime collection. The rebel, plate, slime, and both cheapo camos are stoked to sit next to it.
That fretboard oil is awesome for repelling my tears that fall when I’m struggling to sound like Dime! Washburn is underrated! I love my N24 Nuno guitar with the Bill Lawrence pick up! The most comfortable guitar I’ve ever played! I have a Dean Dime but never played a Washburn Dime! If I find one and buy it I blame you! Thanks lol 😂
Those angles and quality is so good😍
Such a kickass guitar man, i told a local guitar store owner if he can get me this one and i can't fucking wait for it to come man, love you and love your channel, rock on man🤘🤘🤘
Man I could listen to you playing dimebag riffs all day! Sick!!!
Love that guitar bro! Glad you have her home safe and sound.
15:30 here we go!! Ahhh you nail it!! What heavy brightness!!!
I'm jealous! You have some amazing guitars, Ola! 🤘🎸
What a beautiful guitar. Sounds amazing 👌
It looks amazing and smooth!
Fuck yeah man I love it when you play your haunted stuff!!! I actually just really enjoy these “my guitars” videos in general! Looking forward to you guys going back on tour to get another practice play through video!!.. and PS.. really looking forward to hearing some new haunted music!!! Great video as always!!🤘🏻🇦🇺🤘🏻
T shirt game is on point as always. Great video. Always appreciate the great containt
You have over the years made me more a Dimebag fan and now I'm looking to try and find one of his sigs some how, some way.
Thats awesome man. Those guitars just make you wanna shred or play Pantera. I have never played a Washburn but have some original deans not modified that play like butter. Awesome awesome video man.
Hey ola love your videos pls keep making what you're doing!!!
That guitar sounds absolutely amazing.
Also, I stretch as I'm tightening the strings(been doing that since the 80s). I put my index finger on the fretboard and my middle finger under the string and pull up repeatedly as I wind the string. Saves a lot of hassle later.
Getcha pull! 🖤
You are awesome Ola! Dime would be proud! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I love these vids. Wish you'd make more guitar maintanance videos. It's fun plus I actually dare to restring a floyd now, ha!
Nice video man, I'm really enjoying this series! :)
Okay Ola, Great video, I'm diving right now to listen to Dimebag .. again. 5 minutes alone, is the first
looks good in that light
Love your videos man!
This might be the last Ola Englund Video I’m watching on this IPad (It broke :(() (R.I.P. my Second IPad) and btw I was making a guitar brand (Orion Guitars a custom Bass And Guitar Brand by me but I found a custom Dimebag Darrell guitar kit lol.
RIP iPad... I will always remember you...
My first ola video on new iPad. I dropped my iPad Pro face first on tile
nynetynyne I found it on google when I was finding some cool guitar kits to show my dad lol
Piece of art.
Spot-on Dime tone!
a beautiful guitar. Ola this is fun, thanks.
Dude I found the dime o flame at a pawn shop for a great price!!! I've been wanting that guitar since I saw it about 16 yrs ago and to actually have it is just a dream come true!!!!!! CFH 4 LIFE!!!!!!
Sounds awesome!!!
My dream guitar!
I know this one isn’t a Dimebag guitar, but there was an ML Phantom I remember seeing in a guitar magazine. That thing was beautiful, had to have been late 90s early 2000s.
All of your guitars have mean a lot to you ola.
Gorgeous guitar! Ola, the "String changing" timestamp seems to be off, in case you want to check it
Ya that's definitely one of the Coolest Guitars out there. It looks Fantastic! 👊😎 I'm still looking for one I can afford.
Damn I would love to see and hear Ola jam with Rex and Phil 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Sweet looking 3ST love the refinishing ... I've been looking for a 333 Lightning Bolt just too much that I want to spend..
Hard Lines and Sunken Cheeks. My favorite deep cut from Pantera. Awesome OLA.
Awesome sound
Nice video, always been interested in this Guitar.
DR string guy here never understood the packaging either, not a big fan of pre-bending and cutting roundwounds either but do love the sound and feel
Your too modest freind, you have his rig, but most of your success with dimes grooves is all in them fingers, go back and watch your pick attack in this video, the camera angle is in the right spot!!! Love your stuff Ola, perfection as always, thanks to the Swede!!!!
AMAZING GUITAR
That looks and sounds awesome
Love this sharp look
That guitar sounds insane!
I have a dean stealth dimeslime that I love. The design on these guitars was epic!
Well done ola
My god the picking hand is so fast! Blows me away.
This is the best dime tone I’ve heard
Nissssssssssssssssssce 🎸
Definitely on my guitar bucket list!
That tone! 😯🤘🏻
Wow beautiful guitar
I stretch my strings by rubbing a towel hard and fast up and down the neck to heat up the strings then give the trem a little yanking. Works great.
That is a beautiful sounding guitar
your black is my white in the intro! dope riff
Holy fucking tone. My favorite "my guitar" vid yet
I find it so interesting that everyone has different ways of stretching strings. I don't think I've seen anyone do it the same way.
I really enjoyed this
