August 6 - The front ensemble warms up for the show in Massillon, OH. Go see them and others live! Get your tickets at www.dci.org/tic... / drumcorpstube / drumcorpstube
Any idea where I could find a copy of the score for "You"? That's one of the coolest warm up tunes I've heard in a long while. Thanks for all the great videos!!! I love watching this front play.
Oh okay! Thanks! Now the real question...should I get Casellas over Markworths? I'm looking for a big sound that projects the best. M232 or IP1003X...shall we have a vote? :P
Hey! Thanks for the interest! I'm a member of Bloopit, and arranged You for us. I am still waiting a few more seasons before thinking about giving the music out for other ensembles to use. Keep in touch and I will let you know.
grrttmyfld I was wondering if you could also tell me when you would like give out the music I would like to see if my schools pit could learn this along myself, very good piece by the way.
+HipieofBSA It's just Stevens grip. It looks a little different because they're doing octaves and the inside mallet, instead of the end being in the middle of the hand, it's in the "webbing" between your middle and ring finger. But it's still just Stevens grip.
+cas3961 oh okay i've seen the notation in a flute piece (not mine, i play vibes) but didnt know it was played like this. i thought it'd be blending the top and bottom notes together
Robert Lozano You are very welcome!!! I'm such a fan of pit members. Once upon a time I did it in different ensembles, but brass was my thing. I really admire the level of skill and talent it takes to be a corps in DCI.
They are so chill
This video becomes 100x better with a quality subwoofer.

Can anyone tell me what mallets the marimbas are using? More specifically, the white ones? They look like Jim Casella Mallets, but I can't tell.

What grip is used at 8:57? I can't tell if it's Stevens, or something else?

is there a way to write what they played at 12:20?
Yes, in fact. What they did there is called a glissando, or gliss., for short. You can search for it on google images to see the notation that's used.
+cas3961 oh okay i've seen the notation in a flute piece (not mine, i play vibes) but didnt know it was played like this. i thought it'd be blending the top and bottom notes together
