Jim Carrey has the most incredible ability to become anybody and do anything, with the utmost sincerity and depth. The best part is how effortlessly he makes it look. Absolute LEGEND
i know how that goes, i might not reach the whole world but i try to bring joy to everyone i meet yet unfortunately rarely can bring joy to myself. i suppose i try to bring joy to others because i know what the opposite feels like and dont want them to feel how i do
Never liked his stuff/style, it's just exhausting. Just throwing a bunch of half assed stuff at the wall hoping some of it sticks imo. I feel like most of the praise isn't for the quality but the quantity, sweatting and screaming, like "wow that guy really works hard!👏👏👏😯bravo!!" Nah i'd rather hear some high quality material, even if it's just 15 mins instead of 90 mins of coked up ranting and raving. Same with Sam Kinnison..screaming does not = funny, Joe Rogan!🧐
He sings better than the new crap people listen this days. And that is him not even taking things seriously or without a recording studio or auto tune crap.
I just love the way he does this song and his version of Somebody to Love in cable guy was way better than the original! I would love to see him do an album of him just have by fun covering songs!
Even though i appreciate this..i know he could really sing this song.. I wish i had a copy of that...cause he makes you feel the pain. I'll just take any bit that he wants to share..its cool Mr. Carey ..uhh you are appreciated and respected ..and honestly not alone.✌
Perdón me equivoque de banda , yo pensé que era la canción pumpkinhead de la película tonto y retonto , lo siento pero no era de Smashing es de otra banda
This is horrible, and a spoken monologue would have sufficed to make his point that he is borderline OD-ing. It’s sad that so many once-elite stars/performers can’t turn the page more gracefully at the end of their shelf-life of marketability. As a professional shrink, I see this so often. Sadly, they reject the therapy that could help them understand they don’t always have to be “on” to be liked/loved/remembered. They hold themselves to the bar of performance that’s just not realistic for them to achieve, anymore. It’s a failure to age, gracefully, magnified by their waning popularity/demand. Jimmy doesn’t need to be “on” constantly. It’s a clinical case of not feeling self-worth if he doesn’t maintain his public popularity. He’s spiraling, here, and this “acting out,” is so incredibly desperate/needy. This is where family/friends need to just “touch grass,” go on a cruise, etc. He needs to understand he is still worthy, even if he’s no longer a box-office draw. He will always have fans, but now is a time to remember he ONCE was great, performatively speaking. It’s okay to chill, quiet down, and reminisce. Too many aging performers are I’ll-equipped to enter the “reminiscing” stage. It’s OKAY to be Jim Carrey, a once-great artist, and it’s OKAY to simmer down, relax, and enjoy the fruits of an absolutely magnificent career. It’s OKAY to retire, gracefully and not feel like he needs to be the court jester, for laughs. We saw this EXACT profile with Robin Williams. Sadly, Jimmy is so coked-up that he is in serious self-harm danger. Too many ups/down. This is so clinically textbook. George Burns is a great example of “how to turn the page,” gracefully. Too many stars “crash and burn,” instead of learning how to dim, and that it’s natural to not be the funniest guy in the room, anymore. Star personality dysmorphia is very real, and the more “outlandish” ones historically have had a tragic ending. Yes, I write a “book,” because hopefully just one person can translate this to their own understanding; many walks of life have to adjust to “transition.” Of course I have to write anonymously, as I’ve helped coach more than a few celebrities, or high-curve successful individuals. I do feel like Jimmy can be helped - this is such high tragedy-potential, here. Again, he is so mirroring what ailed Robin Williams. There’s been too many successful “star-transitions” for us to not help this very transparent case, here. I’ll just substantiate this with the successful intervention examples of artists like Richard Pryor, Bill Murray, Rodney Dangerfield, et al. Sad to see a repeat trajectory of Williams, Belushi, et al. (Much of this has been re-used from clinical discussion excerpts, hence the lengthy albeit important hodgepodge/format).
Also, understand this is reflective of the start of this path, evidenced over a decade ago. What we see, now, at best is masking of these outbursts, accentuated indeed by periods of sobriety - CRITICAL to tenable success, long-term. Help those you know, who appear to be struggling to maintain a former version of themself. “Prosperity is wasted, without the longevity to enjoy it.” In the interest of client privacy, I can’t reveal the book, just an inscription. ;)
He's actually a really good singer. I would buy his album if he brought one out
+Katie Edgeworth I think so too, but it looks like he would get bored doing this all the time - singing
+gogogirrl it's "The Mask" XD
Really good singer...ahhh I don't think so but good for the average guy i guess.
Professor Kaos
His singing in this video came from his heart. And that's what matters.
I wish he'd do a musical movie. He was gonna play The Devil in a remake of Damn Yankees, but it never happened. I wanted to see it so bad
Jim Carrey has the most incredible ability to become anybody and do anything, with the utmost sincerity and depth. The best part is how effortlessly he makes it look. Absolute LEGEND
Every words he just sang are too fucking real. I could really feel that he meant every words. It hurts.
I think Jim has a personal connection to this song.. I kind of describes his life up to now
This is the purest art I've ever seen
i can feel the way he sing is coming deep from his heart, just hear don't see the video
This song was him . The whole time it was his experience.
"I was Just trying to make you laugh but the joke was on me"
Take a walk in a comedian's shoes....then you'll understand. Robin Williams brought joy to the whole world but somehow couldn't bring it to himself.
:(

His performance is so funny!
Jim pays this song an amazing tribute! He actually does it BEYOND BETTER than Robin Gibb's son RJ.
Long life Jim Carrey!!

He sings better than the new crap people listen this days. And that is him not even taking things seriously or without a recording studio or auto tune crap.

Something about the way he sings it makes it seem that he is really sad....on the inside.
It's so sad watching the smile fade from his face

Now view this again, knowing that he has been referenced by some to be a Satanic High Priest.
This is horrible.
