It was proved that all the “advice” he gave was actually factual and he didn’t say anything that was illegal, that’s why no charges where pressed but by this time he had already lost everything. I’m not a Sam Allardyce fan, but what happened to him was wrong, The Daily Telegraph screwed him over, I would’ve pressed some sort of charges of defamation of character against them.

Fantastic manager but inherent prejudice's in us all means he never got the credit he deserved. Pioneered sports science in the Premier League arguably more than Wenger whom had the riches and luxury of being at Arsenal, whereas Allardyce took a small provincial team in Bolton to great heights. His time at England cut short by journalists who thought he wasn't worthy of the job because of those same prejudice's which rule he's boring cause he's 'sam allardyce' whereas if he had an accent other than English and had an aura about him because of that, he'd have been given genius status.

*Oh come on, we still would have!* A chimp would have got us through that qualification group. We just would have just scraped through the group stage (which featured the might of Tunisia, Panama and Belgium) and gone out to Colombia in the last 16 per usual, with Hart fumbling the ball into his own net and an 32-year-old Wazza screaming at the fans through an TV camera as we crashed out, Big Sam taking his megabucks to resign and gone on to manage in either the USA or Ipswich.

Let's see how he would have fare against mangers like Dalic first and then Deschamps along with their technical nous and their *actually* talented gifted superstars. Oh wait, if he wasn't so money-hungry. If England was the job he craved for, why did he jeopardize like he did? Shows how far the game is broken and how much the international team is in tatters.

Would have been better than Southgate who won’t win a thing. Big Sam is tough enough to upset people and control any dressing room, unlike the soft s**te in today’s game!!
