Doctor Who Rating CRATER!! Show Loses MILLIONS of Viewers!!

- The Doctor Who consolidated ratings are in for the first two episodes and the show has lost MILLIONS of viewers. All the cast and crew telling people to stop watching seems to have worked as there seems to be only a tiny fraction of people left.

I’m a white, heterosexual male, this show wasn’t made for me…..I’m good with that.
Most disney shows arn't, thats why there're going skint.
I'm a white, bisexual male, and this show wasn't made for me because there are limits on my weird.
I'm a homosexual male and this wasn't made for me. It was made for marxists/gnostics.
I like turtles 🐢
Me too...... Bailed out during Matt Smith
"We've hijacked and vandalized your show, explicitly insulted you for not liking it, and now we're mad you don't like it." Love that logic.
Exactly!!!
Pretty much yes
Absolute bully mentality. The universe itself cries out for justice in the face of such hubris and cruelty.
Crybullies, the lot of them.
Totally. Insulting your audience is always a terrible idea but going as far to piss them off so that they actively go on the offensive against you is next level idiocy, and we keep seeing it.
My daughter's 20. She's been a Whovian since she first saw David Tennant as a tiny kid. She hasn't watched since the end of Capaldi, because the Doctor's not a woman for her, and she doesn't even know who the new Who is.
RIP another lovely little bit of the childhoods of generations of Brits.
I've never watched Doctor Who, but I empathize with your family's pain.
This reminds me of the Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy era’s;
maybe we need a break for awhile.
No one told these "creatives" that they can play with the toys (characters, lore), but leave them intact for the next generation.
I've been watching since I was a toddler at the start of Tom Baker's run. I'm thoroughly disillusioned now and it needs to be retired for a decade or two like it was in the late 80s. Maybe they can try again when they've remembered what the show is supposed to be about.
Well it doesnt help that Jodi looked like Basil Faulty had dragged her across the towers by her nose one too many times, and never had surgery to fix it,
and the fact the woman had no charisma, no style, nor humility, I mean hell its why everyone liked Missey so much, it didnt matter that she was the big bad, she had all three, and now they tried to replace her with that re''tar''ded orange haired frog jumping out of a piano
The numbers are low, because we're all racists...AND NOT in any way because the writing, acting and socio political messages, suck.
And dont forget the weather. The weather was also responsible for the low ratings.
I'm confused. Weren't the mythical billions of LGHDTV viewers supposed to have watched the episodes on their iplayers? The press kept insisting on it....
That elusive "modern audience" has failed them!
thats how they cope, thinking they are the majority yet everything they push fails, and everything they scream about succeeds, shows you who the actual vocal minority is, problem is there are still companies out there that havent learned that so they give in.
I’m the 69th like! ooo yeaaaahhhh! 😂
What's the number of the gay community in the UK... 1.5% of the population... If even that?
LGHDTV XDDD ... good'n

Watching the fall of Doctor Who like this is like watching an old friend waste away on crystal meth.

They did Peter capaldi dirty, he deserved much better. The man is a bloody brilliant actor.
He was so wasted!
He was perfect. Older. Manly. He could have been great.
And his stories were pathetic.
I was actually excited to see him cast.
Then I remembered how crap it was. And went. No. It'll be a abomination.
Capaldi's best episodes were written by Jamie Matheson, not Moffat. Moffat was officially "out of gas" at that point and cranking out nothing but trash.
@@CommanderViviax Yeah the 80's sunglasses and the guitar were a disgrace.
Did people really think Peter Capaldi was a good doctor? I thought he was terrible. Especially following Matt Smith and his crew.
@@jamessutton3172 We are saying he is a great actor, probably the best actor in modern who, the material they gave to him was trash. He could've being a brilliant doctor with a better material.
Whitaker had 10.54 million on her first episode and by the third episode of her first season Doctor Who lost OVER HALF of their viewers... and none of them ever came back. This is just the next stage of decline.
I was one of them. That first episode was terrible. Why was there so much camera shake in it, that's all I remember of it. Trying to make it more dramatic than it was.
😂😂😂
Jodie Whitiker probably got that much on her first episode because people watched just out of curiosity to see how they made the Doctor a woman. After that her ratings continued to decline.
i didn’t even bother starting her run but my dad did and i think he only made it like four episodes in. when he finally realized it was just going to be fake history and ideological preaching he gave up and never looked back.
it’s a a shame because Doctor Who really was one of the truly great family shows out there, i’m American but i have so many fond memories of watching Who with my mom and dad. now i’d feel embarrassed even suggesting we watch it and certainly wouldn’t show it to children.
Not to defend Whittakers era, but your maths is off.
It opened with 10.54m.
By ep3 it was 8.09m (24% decline which was actually quite normal for nuwho)
By the finale it was 6.48m (~40% which is not normal)
There's plenty to make fun of without hyperbole ;)
He told me to go touch grass, so I did!!! I needed that fresh air!!

Had insulting your audience actually ever worked? You'd think these people would look at the other people who insulted their audiences and think to themselves, "Maybe I should just not say anything inflammatory".
You say that as though narcissists like them _think..._
Yes, insulting worked. Let these racist toxic companies rot in their own incompetence.
I guess Gatwa was wrong. We all CAN ignore his 'chocolateness.'
But the more it continues, the more I want to melt that chocolate in a microwave.
I'm doing it right now.
this is what happens when you push gender and sexuality into a "kids show" . the parents turn it off.
As should any moral sapient being.
You got that right!
It can be done. Captain Jack was gay. The difference is that he had a personality first and was gay second. Nowadays the sexuality IS the personality. Which is pitiful, but more importantly, not engaging for viewers.
@@EvgeneXI Since Captain Jack Flash (if the rumors are true) was where all this garbage started, I think that demonstrates that no, it can't be done, not without a snowball becoming an avalanche. When you push your political ideals over story, when you tell your original fans not to watch, when you tell your main demographic not to watch, ratings crash. This is not a surprise.
Made for an audience that exists mostly in their delusions.
I'd argue that Dr Who has always been somewhat political, much like Star Trek was. It's messaging has always been strongly humanist and opposed to violence and militarism.
It's not so much the pushing of politics as the politics that are being pushed. I detest the identity politics of race and gender, I seen them as deeply devisive and I'm not alone in feeling this way. I think it's the inclusion of this brand of politics that's causing people to turn-off.
@@kelpie1533 There is having a political story where you show the pros and cons of both sides and either pick one at the end or leave it ambiguous, that's good story telling.

Well you do have the weirdo shills that watch it over and over to try and prop up the numbers 🤣🤣🤣
The people who have their DVR set to record the show get counted as viewers too, at least on streaming services like UA-cam tv and Hulu live. Lots of people stop watching but forget to cancel the DVR “set to record” function. Probably inflates their numbers by 5 digits at least.
Well, between mowing the grass... and raking up the grass...and bagging the grass...and weed eating the grass...and washing off all the grass...and sitting down with a cold beer after all that with the grass, I concluded that touching grass was 100% more fulfilling than anything their little show could offer.
Also more productive too.
+you can't teach gravitas.
That's what Smith, Capaldi and Tennant had in spades.
They acted like old souls.
Which the Doctor is.
It's so old....no human ever on earth has lived so long, IMHO it should be pretty "inhuman" one has to imagine how it would be as we don't have anything similar in reality. The First doctor was pretty weird and "rude", he didn't care for feelings and the little things in life, he didn't knew earth dwellers much
Peter Capaldi didn't feel old. He LOOKED old but felt more like a whiny teenager. He should have swapped places with John Hurt.

That "10 million" viewers actually ISNT anything to go by, because it's taken from a source that says "over 10 million people watched doctor who over the Christmas period". That's ALL available episodes of doctor who, not The Church on Ruby Road. The ratings for the +7 for the episode was 7.49million. Not sure why they chose to lie about it.
Oh wait, yes I am.
This is correct. It was for the whole of iPlayer's Doctor Who library - classic Who, nuwho, specials, and the new episodes. Pure BBC fudging.
Yes mate. I believe that the actual streams for the Xmas episode on iPLayer during that week was something like 1.79 million.
Yes, the actual iPlayer figures for Ruby Road were 1.79m (of that 10m)
@@sixstanger00 I am now actually coming to think that was a lie. The 7 day TV only rating for Xmas special was 7.26 million. The 7 day +4 Screen rating which is supposed to include iPlayer numbers was 7.49 million. The difference is 0.23 or 230,000? That's a big difference from 1.79 million.
@@Andy.Gledhill.Models.
"7 Day" figures include iPlayer and other streaming platforms like Disney+, Amazon Prime, etc. They also include DVR recordings watched within those 7 days.
"7 Day +4" include everything above plus views on devices other than TVs such as smartphones, tablets, etc.
So the 230k is probably only those who watched on a device other than a TV.
I really like Peter Capaldi. It was a crime what the show runners did to him.
Capaldi had such depth, intelligence and credibility. A stand out actor.
When the BBC turned on Colin Baker, fans supported the show. When the BBC turned on Sylvester McCoy, fans supported the show. When McGann wasn't given more than one movie (and got better ratings than Gatwa, btw), fans supported the show.
When the BBC gave us Jodie Whitaker, fans said shove off. When the BBC and Disney gave us Gatwa, fans said shove off.
What fans there arent any of us left
Jodie did well enough, it was the scripts she had to deal with that were the problem.

It definitely made you happier. This series of Who won't. As someone posted earlier, they need to retire Dr Who for a decade or two, let the heat and controversy die down then re-launch it. But of course, they won't. Especially now that Disney (FFS!) have got their greedy little claws into it.

Eccleston was the first doctor I watched, it's a shame to see lazy politicized writers and unprofessional actors crash the series.
Christopher Eccleston tried to warn everyone...
"Sack Russell T. Davies, sack Jane Tranter, sack Phil Collinson, sack Julie Gardner, and I’ll come back."
Jane Tranter and Julie Gardner founded Bad Wolf Studios and the BBC gave them full control of Doctor Who teaming up with woke disney.
ReTarD along with his cohorts have destroyed the Doctor Who franchise, which, let's be honest, was the only thing the BBC had left that was worth anything.
Now it's gone, the BBC have nothing, they've lost viewers in their millions, people are cancelling their TV licences left right and centre and they are taking their last gasps as their ship disappears into the watery depths.
RIP Doctor Who.
Eccleston’s portrayal is what made me want to keep watching. Never watched old Who, but this man had clearly seen and done things. I wish we had gotten more of him.

Watch the classics. They are mostly very good. You can start with Third Doctor (Pertwee) since all of his episodes survived (unlike First and Second Doctor) and are all in colour, so it's easier to get into them.
After watching everything until 1989, return to watch First Doctor and Second Doctor. Scripts are good too, but as I said some episodes are missing and only audio survived and overall filming quality sometimes looks like the show was recorded in 1930s haha. Modern audience: a lie and a new dragon to chase
Statistically, they don't exist. The "modern audience" they want is actually only a very small percentage of the overall population, almost a rounding error.
I'm surprised the BBC hasn't suggested that many of their new viewers are currently in pro-Palestine camps with no TV.
They're waiting for their brainwashed drones to grow up a bit.

Peter's Dr. Who coat was the last piece of merch I bought and the last doctor I watched.
I have a few variations of Tom Baker's Doctor Who scarf that I can wrap myself up in and feel the warmth of nostalgia and enjoyment (plus his entire run on my Plex). I don't need more.
Tennant was my favorite Doctor, as I liked his haunted scholar approach, but I did like Capaldi's harder-edged Doctor. And he played metal, which is totally cool. Though I became aware of the show during the Tom Baker era, I first became really interested in the show when Eccleston came on board, and ditched the show partway through Whittaker's first season. I thought all of the actors from Eccleston through Capaldi did a good job. But it sucks that the man who got me involved with the show is now responsible for utterly annihilating it in the name of wokeness. These days I'd much rather go outside, lie on the grass, look up at the clouds, and dream up my own time travel adventures than watch the abomination this show has become.

I’ve been enjoying classic Who on dvd…you know, the real Doctor.
PlutoTV has the "classics" (or as I now call them, the REAL Doctor Who) running on it's own channel.

I've been making my way through Pertwee, though I'm finding it hard to like the stories of his time stuck on Earth. They seem mundane in comparison, and The Master keeps on getting tripped up with "You know, you're on their side now, but they'll turn on you" trope. Colony In Space is the first really enjoyable episode of Pertwee run (besides Inferno) I've enjoyed, because it doesn't take place on Earth.

Maybe I should get some chickens and name them after Who characters.. paint their coop blue...... Would be a better story!
Basically RTD turned the doctor into a ghastly caricature of a dancing "minstrel", far from being radical all he has done is fall back on a trope that was removed from British TV in the late 70's. It's not clever, it's insulting to many black people, the trans nonsense is insulting to many lesbian and gay people (those with brains that is who can apply some critical thinking) and it will come across as simply bemusing to most. RTD clearly had a casting couch obsession with Ncuti and look where we have ended up.
Now you said it. Yes.
It's gone backwards into some demented take on a dancing black man.
Without the skill it takes to do the dancing a Minstrel Show required. Anything else aside. It required dancing talent.
I was looking in horror at it. And I was like. It reminds me of something. Something out of date?
I do not know what. But it's not good.
That egomaniac is someone with any sense would want to be associated with.
Well said👍🏻
It's Doctor What-What, In-The-Butt now
Minstrel shows had blackface. Not present with Doctor What-What, In-The-Butt, and that makes everything tangibly worse.
@@Xbalanque84classic song lol.
I don't watch this trash calling itself Doctor Who, but by God I will support every channel calling out this garbage!
The long-time fans (such as myself) all left during the Jodi run. I stopped at "Arachnids in the UK" when I realized that I was recording it rather than watching it live and that I was dragging my feet on watching the episodes (when I did record the previous runs I always watched them later that night or early the next day whereas then I was waiting days or weeks) and when I watched it, it was always while I was doing other things and paying less and less attention.
At that point, I just stopped and the only episode I watched after that was the one with the previous Doctors returning and only for them.
this show jumped the shark years before that. remember, they had "evil wifi" and "evil GPS" episodes so let's not kid ourselves. Dr. Who had maybe 3 good seasons, 1 with ecclestone and maybe 2 with tennant after that the show totally jumped the shark
It's times like this I'm glad I stopped watching TV altogether years ago.
@@RoeShamBoe What was especially political or leftist about that? It's a bit tech-phobic (which is weird for a sci-fi show) but not really annoying and I recall them being interesting and well done.
Now, Clara herself was an issue because she should have died but they chickened out and saved her and she continued to be on the show without having any real reason to be there.
Her character had already resolved her purpose, there was a point in her still existing.
Doctor Who ended with the Timeless Child which is what the show has been since the episode of that title. I stopped trying to watch when they replaced Doctor Who with The Timeless Child. I won't be going back since they have no intention of bringing back actual Doctor Who.
I bet they thinking "too bad ratings dont go up due to inflation" hahaha
you know how when there's huge fires, if you're not in danger, you just tend to...watch?
this is what this entire fiasco is to me. A huge burning wildfire, burning the franchise down to ashes.
It's up to them if there'll be a phoenix situation going on afterwards, but this season is already burnt to a crisp.
i'd recommend they let it die. but we all know better, they'd never listen.
More like destroying a vampire. Once the burning begins, one has to watch for bugs, snakes, rodents, and other assorted vermin fleeing the body. Those need to be captured and returned to the fire, as they're likely the transformed spirit of the vampire trying to escape. If any of said vermin gets loose, the plague could very easily return or spread elsewhere as the vampire regains its strength and regenerates.

I went and touched the grass, mowed the grass, trimmed bushes, making my house look good. Let them weep and moan. I totally agreed with everything you said here. They went the G4 rout. It will have the same results
I did the same thing. A hot girl in the neighborhood said , “you look like you have been doing a lot of work. Want to come over to my place for some lemonade?”
She made the finest lemonade.
we were told not to watch dr who and we listened and now the ratings are in the toilet i feel they will never learn.
It used to be seperate the art from the artist, but when the activists are in charge? We can't seperate the activism from the activist and this is how the activists want it. Goodbye entertainment hello the message.
Its as if no one could have ever predicted this outcome... lol
Uncle George: [tents fingers] _"All as planned..."_
I saw it happen a decade ago in the American Comic Book Industry, seen it happen to the MCU. And now it's rinse and repeat with Doctor who.
It's all so tiresome.
It is like bit by bit over the years they were trying to see just how small the mythical "modern audience" actually is. Now they know and the Doctor is dead.
they havent lost the old viewers. they know where we are. we're in our houses surrounded by our Dr Who memorabilia, watching our old pre 90's doctor Who dvd's, shaking our heads and asking why it all went so badly wrong.
I been stompin on the flush handle for years now and this s*** just wont go down :(
All i need is popcorn whilst i watch a once much loved part of my life crash and burn! Least we still have the other doctors
Doctor Poo sliding down the pan.
This Turkey won't last till Christmas.
I once had the pleasure of meeting Peter Capaldi on the set of the tardis during a live shoot. I am pleased to say he is as great in person as you would hope.
I absolutely can't wait for GW to have the same collapse. Warhammer must be saved.
If I'm not mistaken, the absolute legend Henry Cavill is seeing to it that Warhammer is done right. After his experiences on The Witcher, I expect he'll come down hard on any ideological bullshit. The dude is one of the last alpha males in Hollywood.
Warhammer Fantasy/40K will survive this. Games Workshop will not.

He already left production of Amazon's WH40K series. Given all the shows he's tried to do that got destroyed by corporate meddling, he really needs to start filing tortious interference suits.
FOR THE EMPEROR
@@tomnorton4277Henry Cavill is a legend.
When Timeless Child killed Who, it was hoped that Davies would bring in the defibrillator to save it but he carried a hammer and coffin nails.
Discovery and Lower Decks dance on the corpse of Star Trek.
Star Wars is A Lost Hope.
And Rebel Moon .... exists.
Where did all the good sci-fi go? Is it down to Dune? Can we get Neil Blonkamp to make more movies?
I highly recommend Lost.
"It'll just be a part of the final numbers"
Yes, that's how fractions work...
How is this not common sense? People watch TV shows to escape life for awhile. Nobody wants to watch a show that constantly preaches their bs.
RIP Doctor Who
Meanwhile, Doctor What-What, In-The-Butt dons the IP's skin and dances disrespectfully on its grave.
It's been dead for a while, they're just parading the corpse around at this point.
Wow, 3.7 Million? I figured they'd be able to find between 4 & 5 million viewers in a week, that's both pathetic & totally deserved 😂
Such a shame. If we take the politics out of it just for a second even though it’s really hard to as it’s full of it, but if we look at the stories, acting into account, it’s pretty dreadful. RTDs run so far has been full of comedy, musical numbers, poor acting and bland non inspiring stories.
It’s not event television anymore as there’s no threats, the Doctor uses the same tactics to wrap up the story and it’s not enough to keep you wanting more. Look at Baby Reindeer recently, you watch one, you want to watch the next. That can’t be said of Doctor who. We’re given Church on Ruby Road, Space Babies, Devils Chord back to back. They don’t have any Doctor Who quality’s at all. Boom was pretty forgettable but if it had been the first or second episode it would have got a little more respect. Especially if the upcoming episode is to go by you’d have a pretty strong opening couple of stories
The acting is also pretty abysmal. Now I have no issues with what color or sexual orientation any actor is, but if your going to get a black guy to play it pick someone who can act. Someone like Lennie James who was in Walking Dead and Save Me. Great actor.
The politics side of things has already been covered and I’ve nothing to add other than to say when Jinx Monsoon was sucking the orchestra conductors stick in the Devils Chord, what an absolute disgusting thing to place in a family show, we know what they were trying to say there. Whether a woman was doing that or a guy or a guy in a dress, there’s still no need to sexualise a family show. After all the distance they’ve made from John Barrowman and Noel Clarke (they did nothing wrong by the way) then to place a scene like that is a disgrace, disgrace.
The BBC and Disney are never going to admit they are wrong.
Great News, according to The UA-cam channel Jay from SciTrek, RTD has been sacked!!! ❤
Do tell!
Hahahaha love it.
I've found nothing to support that claim, That said I hope you are right
No way BBC would sack their token gay writer!
John Barrowman has replaced him.
😂
The new who has encouraged more people to go outside than the national trust heritage
Remember that 11 and 12 had their debuts played in cinemas (yes there was a time they did that), so remember these numbers are properly not factored in, also I've noticed they've started having the latest outings have adaptations to book and audio drama much sooner than other despite there being no demand, how long before they start claiming there fictional audience is on audible?
I had no idea Capaldi had to deal with that...he was a lovely doctor but I like the Smith episodes the most. Maybe that's why.
Eccleston, Capaldi and Tennant made great Doctors but I started watching with the premiere of Smith at a friend's house so I'm a bit biased. Still, it's sad to see it go down like this.
Can't see Gatwa's Doctor last beyond 2 series, people really are touching grass with nice weather so not surprised with low viewing figures
It starts with viewer figures where usual series gets cancelled. I don't think it gets second season. Which would be good because this isn't Doctor Who. Has not been since Jodie Whittaker Who which wasn't Doctor Who canonically, not a Time Lord, it was just some alien girl that had regenerative powers.
@@3characterhandlerequired Bizarrely I myself did enjoy Whittaker's Doctor but you're right since her tenure most of the stories were either underwhelming or a complete mess and only a small selection of stories were actually good. Since Gatwa took over it's gone too much on the political side such as men in skirts and pronouns, still nice to touch grass outside though.
